Recently, I purchased a new laptop PC and needed to have my data files transferred from the old computer to the new one. I contacted a computer repair chain and big box store to inquire about getting this service and was told that it would take many days before they could get to it. In addition, they were not at all enthusiastic about helping me with this need. I then decided to search for a local independent computer repair business and found Computer Therapy, Inc. in Carrboro. Their reviews were outstanding so I called and left a VM. Within no time, Lee Pollard, the proprietor, called me back and was extremely responsive to my needs. He understood exactly what had to be done and offered to access my computers remotely to make the transfer at a time when it was convenient for me. On the following day late afternoon Lee had an opening and executed the migration process. I must admit that my computer skills are at best mediocre and was feeling nervous about my involvement. Lee was exceptionally patient, thorough, and skilled. I soon felt completely at ease, confident, and trusting of Lee and the directions he was giving me. He not only transferred the data files, but he also migrated programs and made my new Dell PC identical to the old one. He even replicated certain customizations onto the new computer. In summary, Lee treated my computer as if it was his own. So if you have any needs regarding your computer, run, don’t walk, and call Lee at Computer Therapy. He will take good care of you!

Lee works quickly and efficiently and will let you know if the repair cost exceeds the value of the equipment. Cant say enough about how responsive, professional and quick he is in diagnosing the problem, giving you options, and fixing everything. I would give more stars if I could. Lee was the consummate professional--thorough and reassuring. He solved the problem. That would have been enough. He told us how to ensure it would not happen again. That would have been enough. But then he went on to figure out why it happened and fixed that too. He went above and beyond what we had expected. Just like many of the other reviews, remote assistance with my computer was a plus. He helped me diagnose whether or not it was even worth it to repair the computer versus simply get a new one. I went through a series of hand me down computers that had a variety of issues and assuming his claims are correct I saved quite a bit of money not having professionals waste time on them. Lee Pollard has been my on site Computer Guru and remote sightComputer Technician for more years than I can count. He is also a true friend loaning be his Utility Trailer to move from one location to another 174 Miles apart. So far I have made two trips and will soon make a third one. He solves all my computer problems from picking up my tower and removing a hard drive and after compressing the file , reinstalling it and delivering it back to me the next morning. He has a keen and perceptive mind, Is very intelligent and excellent sociability. He can lead and he can follow. For a computer-illiterate oaf such as myself, Lee Pollard has been my miracle worker. He remotes in whenever I need him to fix any small issue, and his rates are quite reasonable. He recently had to replace my hard drive and he did it at an affordable price, even picking it up and bringing it back to me. I love the new drive - its so fast and quiet. Lee even took the time to send me a PDF cheat sheet! He is so patient with me and never laughs at my ignorance, and I think that I like that best of all.

Intuitive, reliable and smarter than my computer. Ive been rescued from many computer-related dilemmas by Lee. Last year he returned my frantic call while he was driving in Texas. Ok I have had issues with both my PC computer and my iPhone and had gone to several different people for help even Apple and Verizon a few times. Lee exorcized the cryptolocker from my computer via telephone. Told me what steps to follow and walked me through it and verified that all other systems were working normally. Doing it on the phone saved me much down time. He was quite friendly and professional. Much better service than the commercial services that pop up first on a search. If I could give a rating greater than 5 stars I would. Another plus is that it is a local company not a big box that spends its profits out of the area. Cost was much less than other flat rates quoted to me by the big boxes.

We have been Lees customers for over 10 years. When people tell me they are calling the franchise IT firms (GEEK Squad etc.) for software issues, I cringe.Those firms may have some good technicians, but they come and go. So the guy who first loads your software is not the one who helps you load a new program and add a back up and the next person is yet another newbie, and when you have a problem no one knows what has been done or why. They all do the work their own way. It may be good work at each step, but it is not coordinated and the PCs and laptops I have seen are a disaster (sometimes just waiting to happen).Computer Therapy has had several technicians, but they are all good, and Lee oversees the work. He does spring cleaning on PCs to keep them in good working order. And, I LOVE the remote login feature where he can access our computers and take care of issues and maintenance during his off-site time.We always ask Lee for recommendations before we buy hardware and software and have been very happy with our systems--they last, they are highly functional while they last, and we can upgrade and keep things running well because there is a good foundation in place.Lee also puts up with my husbands impatience with technology, and he lets me be involved as possible so I know what is being done and how. I believe in knowing what the technology can do and the only way to know that is to know how it is set up and whats out there.Ten satisfied years and counting. PS, hes working on a virus that was attached to a download this evening....hes great at finding and fixing those bugs. He also takes old equipment and gets it running for nonprofits or uses the good parts for community programs.

Lee drops everything, and/or juggles everything to take care of his clients. He works with your schedule and will either fix the problem remotely while you sleep, or find a mutually agreeable time to get together (even if after 5 pm). He doesnt live on an 8-5 pm work day. His work day revolves around his clients needs and availability. Ive had some time sensitive computer issues; he works me in to an already busy work load of commitments. In addition, he explains the issue & the solution, in terms a non-computer person can understand. If he can offer a solution and teach me how to deal with it, saving me money, he will. Lee Pollard helped me migrate to iCloud and coordinate a desktop, laptop, iPhone and iPad so that all 4 devices can view the same e-mails, calendar and contacts. With Lees help, I got gmail, but the gmail coordinates with my old email so that I dont have to change my public email address. Lee helped me find a laptop with Windows 7, so that I didnt have to upgrade to Windows 10. Key for me has been to continue to use my old Tungsten E2 Palm Pilot PDA. Lee enabled hotsyncing of the Palm with both desktop and laptop, when others had utterly failed. The most recent issue has been the search function in Outlook 2010 contacts, and Lee has patiently helped me find a workaround. I am truly amazed at Lees technical intuition and persistence. He never gives up, and shows a lot of patience with clients with modest computer skills!
