Capt Omar Orraca is exactly what youre looking for in a captain!Hes experienced so his fish knowledge is on point and he knows the waters of Puerto Rico inside and out.Hes hard working. By the time you get to the boat, hes already been out, caught his bait, and is back to the dock ready to take you out. When you get out there, hes constantly looking for the best spot to set you up on to put you on the fish. He wont just leave you sitting there not catching anything and wasting your time.On top of that, hes very friendly and super easy to get along with. A day spent fishing with him and youll know youve got your fishing guide in Puerto Rico for life.Whether youre a first timer or have been at it a while, you cant help but have a great time with Capt Omar.Oh, I almost forgot, he happens to be the only Puerto Rican in the world to hold a world record on a fly rod so ask him about that! I’ve been fishing with Captain Omar since 2001. If I guessed, probably over 30 trips for tarpon and 10 for blue water and near shore fishing.Nobody knows Tarpon like Capt.Omar. An absolute Tarpon Wisperer. We released all our tarpon from 2 pounds up to 140lbs. My mother and father in law, wife, brothers, friends, nieces and nephews have all joined me on various trips with Capt. Omar. Often requiring 2 boats when we come in force. Capt. Omar is an absolute professional with anglers of all levels of experience.In 2004, he introduced me to my first Tarpon on fly. That wrecked me! Captain Omar, Caribbean Outfitters, was very open and honest with me prior to our trip. He was also very willing to answer all of my questions. I have fished with various guides and often ask alot of questions before booking. Based on his fishing experience, we planned our vacation to coincide with his recommendation. He is very knowledgeable and knows the local waters. Although there were other guides fishing the same waters, it was very easy to tell that we had more hookups then anyone else. By the end of our 6 hour trip (February 2020), we had various hookups, released one average size tarpon (~50lb), and lost one large tarpon (~80 lb) at the boat. Besides making our trip fun and successful, we made a friend. We cant wait to return to Puerto Rico and fish with Capt. Omar. He was one of the best guides we have ever fished with over the years. You will not be disappointed. He works hard to get you the best opportunity.
