We are long time visitors to this Sheraton hotel complex, prior to the addition of the Westin units. It has always been one of our favorite places to go. Recently, we stayed at the new Westin complex (which used the old Sheraton lobby and pool area), and found it to be exceptional. The front desk staff were truly friendly and helpful, with special mention to Luis whose assistance was supportive in our time of need, and especially, to Seth, who went out of his way to ensure that my family had a memorable and exceptional experience. He was truly a gregarious, caring professional who helped make the overall experience at the hotel superb. Great staff, excellent rooms, good location for visiting the southern California kid attractions, overall, a place that we look forward to visiting again.

We had a wonderful experience there. The room was comfortable and the staff could not have been more gracious and helpful. The only negative was that our room wasnt very close to either of the pools. We had a long walk to the smaller pool, and the large pools were far enough away we had to drive to them.

I stayed here for a girls staycation and we absolutely loved it! It was the perfect spot to hangout all day, eat a delicious meal, and really soak up the Southern California sunshine. Our room was beautiful, I love the natural and blue tones throughout the room. It made the room bright and airy! My favorite part was the bed, if I could transport it to my bedroom I would never get out of bed. Im not sure if it was the mattress or the comforter or a combo of both, either way - it was magical. The resort is in a great location as well, close to the outlets, beach, attractions, and other dining options. We ate dinner at the onsite restaurant, 20twenty, and it had great ambiance! Plus the food was delicious, highly recommend their spicy margarita and the lobster risotto! The staff and service was great as well, special shoutout to the bellman (Alex I think his name was) who didnt judge my friend and I for our never ending luggage.

I stayed here a couple years ago and I remember having an enjoyable time here. The grand appearance of the hotel gives a very nice first impression. The rooms are very nice and clean. The view is quite nice during the sunset. However the Ocean was a ways away from the hotel. Whats nice is the hotel is located nearby Legoland. If youre planning a trip around Legoland, this hotel is a great option. If not, there are plenty of amenities the hotel offers. The pool is very large. I believe they also have a gym and firepits. Walking around the hotel is quite nice. The hotel restaurant offers very delicious food! Overall Id say the experience was excellent!

Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. We felt very welcome when we arrived. The room was awesome. Upgraded to a suite. Very clean and modern. The grounds are well kept with a relaxing Mediterranean feel to them. We booked the hotel for a stay to enjoy LegoLand with our family. There is a back entrance which is exclusive for hotel guests. This allowed us to park at the hotel and then walk to the park without standing in line at the front gate. You just need to show them your hotel key (and tickets of course) to gain entrance. We are looking forward to our next stay at this property. Well done Westin !

Polite, kind and professional. It’s our youngest’s birthday and they sent up a great little snack box and a Happy Birthday wish. The pool is heated with a stunning view and because it is resort style, you are provided comfortable seating on either couches or great lounge chairs. We are already talking about coming back!

Ie; the pirate ship which makes her dizzy. Normally we eat at the park, but this time they came to meet me for lunch at the hotel! Way better food. Same price. Its all about location, location, location. Combine that with quality and this might be my favorite hotel. We chose this over the Aviara and I would do it again. Were coming back. Soon. Decided to take a mini weekend trip to Carlsbad with the family. We thoroughly enjoyed the grounds! We had fun playing in the pool and relaxing in the jacuzzi. Our boys loved the table tennis and playing pool! For families headed to Legoland there seems to be a private entrance...which is a plus. We will take advantage of this next time we come back!Room was clean and spacious, however a little mini upkeep can be taken into consideration such as door handle to restroom coming apart as well as the toilet paper holder falling off! Also, perhaps having at least one extra toilet paper available might be nice!

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise for us. The grounds are beautiful, the room was large, the private entrance to legoland is a huge bonus, the pool was perfect and having access to the Sheraton’s facilities was much appreciated. Our room wasn’t ready at 4pm but the girl on the front desk was very accommodating. The staff were very friendly at both hotels. We only ate at the 7 mile grill because the menu was better for our family and it was absolutely lovely. The outdoor fire pits at night were a great place to hang out with our kids. It was wonderful to have two king beds in a room and the decor was exactly what I would hope for in a coastal retreat. The only negative was the balcony was so tiny you could barely fit two seats out there and have any leg room. But at least there was a balcony! The gym was the best hotel gym I’ve ever seen! I would consider coming back to this hotel even if I wasn’t going to legoland. We didn’t even have time to take the shuttle to the outlets or beach but that will be first on my list next trip. We are always impressed with our stays at Westin resorts! Thank you!

Everything about my stay from being greeted by valet to my checkout was nothing but exceptional. I was attending a summit for our company, and it was an amazing experience. I had a beautiful King room that even on the first floor of rooms I had the pleasure of enjoying the coast line view. My room was clean and comfortable with great attention to detail. I loved the unexpected turn down service of my room especially the little chocolates on my bed. The food that was served for the few days was phenomenal. Everything we had was fresh and healthy. My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick trip out of Los Angeles and glad we came to the Westin Carlsbad! We were greeted kindly at the front desk and were given a complimentary upgrade to a Coastline View room, which was pretty great. Our room was clean and stocked with everything we would need for our stay. Although we spent most of the time in Carlsbad Village we did use the Pool & Jacuzzi as well as the Fitness Center. The Fitness Center I was the most impressed by, which featured a Peloton bike as well as updated Life Fitness equipment with a few machines, weights as well as a punching bag, TRX set up and kettle bells! One of the best fitness set ups I have seen at any hotel I have stayed at. Overall we had a very nice stay and will definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

Hotel is beautiful and next to LEGOland if that’s your goal. The pool is huge and wasn’t very busy at the time of year we visited which was nice. Our room was located in south tower 3 floor which was very hard to get too. You had To take one elevator to first or fourth floor then get off walk quit a bit away to get on another elevator. It was poorly designed in my opinion( and I am interior designer). Two we could hear the people above us walking, running, and stomping at all hours of the night. The hotel could of used better sound proofing. Three our shower leaked no matter if you used the shower head or the hand held. We were constantly moping up heavy water. It’s like the shower pan wasn’t draining properly. Room service very expensive and they over charge for delivery. They need to hire more housekeeper to help clean the hotel. We left very early in the morning and came back at 4 and our room still haven’t been cleaned. When I called to report it. They simply just left towels and didn’t bothering cleaning. We will probably not be back.

We have been coming to San Diego/Carlsbad twice or more a year for the past 8 years. Typically we stay once in SD and once in Carlsbad, and we would stay at the Sheraton Carlsbad. We were surprised when we were able to booked the Westin since the Sheraton was full and Westin had just opened. We were fortunate to be the FIRST guests to stay in the new tower as well. In addition to a very gracious welcome by the Manger Josef, we absolutely love the new jr. suites. Very comfortable modern decor, two TVs, comfortable beds, gorgeous tile work, and a million dollar view every morning and evening (sunset) from the living area. We could not be happier we chose to end our summer at the Westin. As always the service is attentive and friendly. Even though we are only 45 miles from home, my daughter commented she felt like we were in Hawaii. Weather here is always nice. A great weekend getaway or home base to explore San Diego County and the beautiful beaches here which are just 3 minutes away.Looking forward to a winter retreat with perfect weather.

Only one person at the front desk to take care of the store and those waiting for other information. She did the best she could with the entitled who were more important than those of us who waited in line.Room service - we spent the week at the Hilton Grand Pacific and the Westin provides room service. The food was good but it took two trips for them to get the order right. Paid $20 for 6 small ravioli... they forgot the salad my bride ordered so none of us got to eat until they made the second trip. We love the Westin brand of hotels, so as usual we wouldn’t except anything but the best. The Westin Carlsbad was beautiful, the surroundings well maintained, nice updated decor throughout the property, and wonderful amenities esp the 24 hour pool. The only think that put a damper to our stay was the awful housekeeping. We left our room the first day and called the front desk to let the know we were leaving for the day and we would like to get our room clean. We were very disappointed bc when we returned our room was not made up to Westin standards. The beds were made fine but everything else was kinda left in disarray. I felt that whoever had cleaned our room didn’t care to uphold the Westin brand. Our towels were not replenished , the coffee bar was not cleaned and replenished....the 1/2 empty coffee cup and empty creamers were still there, our garbages were not completely emptied, the mirrors weren’t wiped down, and the worst part was the bottom sheet of our bed came undone and it was stained. That just goes to show whoever did our room was careless and not representing the Westin way of doing things. It was very upsetting to come back to our room expecting a refreshed room and it was not done.I called to report this because I didn’t want want any other guests to experience this. I was able to speak with the Dir of Housekeeping, Jung. She was very helpful and was able to do a service recovery on this particular event. I really hope whoever was our housekeeper is re-trained because I would hate to have another guest experience this because it was totally unacceptable from a Westin brand of hotel.

We arrived early to the hotel (1:30). We were told that our room wasnt ready and we should check back in an hour. We did so, the fellow at the front desk seemed annoyed when I asked a second time. Told us check-in is at 4:00 - as if to say dont annoy me - you shouldnt be asking. At 4:00, the room was still not ready - he made no apology and glared at me without word. Other people in our conference came after us and were given a room. Finally, I asked for a manager who within 40 minutes provided us with a room, a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. I think she thought that was sufficient. I thanked her for her help and for the kindness she expressed. Honestly, the guy at the front desk was unpleasant and there was no need for him to show hostility. Second issue, the floor in our room 1202 was filthy. I might not have noticed it but I accidentally broke a plate and needed to clean the floor. Once I began wiping I realized the floor was filthy - didnt seem to have been washed in months. Unacceptable.

Upon arrival the valet asked “can I help you?” (No welcome to the Westin) I wasn’t going to think much of it until he asked “are you sure you’re staying at the Westin?”Then: check in attendant announces our room rate asking if we have enough to cover our roomSame day: our room is a “deluxe coastal view” the only view we got was of 2 palm trees. Also, no complimentary essentials in the bathroom Day 2: cleaning staff left behind dirty microfiber towels Day 3: ordered room service breakfast and they only brought our drinks (we ordered cranberry juice, they brought apple), we called to ask for the pastries we ordered and was answered with a “we don’t do that anymore”... she offered to bring us a bagel or toast and two hours later still nothin. We only stayed 3 nights. By check- out time we didn’t want to deal with amy staff at the Westin. Will definitely NOT be visiting again.

Very happy. I only had one hiccup and it wasn’t that bad I was charged for something but I asked and was reimbursed the next day. Staff is extremely nice. Property is very well taken care of.

Location is conveniently next to Legoland, family friendly. Property is consistent with what you expect from a Westin experience. We stayed one night and didnt get to explore the grounds and variety of amenities available to guests.

This is a lovely property and very well appointed! HOWEVER our reservations were made well in advance of our daughters wedding weekend for two nights in a Junior Suite. We had confirmation of our reservation! When we arrived to check in - no record of the reservation and all Junior Suites SOLD OUT! This meant our daughter and bridesmaids couldnt get hair and make-up done in one of the beautiful junior suites on Sat morning! We all crammed in to a regular room! We didnt let this ruin our entire day.... We were told that somehow the online reservation system wasnt communication properly with the resorts reservation system. Im just saying this is obviously a newer property. There were other issues with our friends & family staying here as well which indicated the hotel is not working as a well oiled machine just yet and did not live up to expectations! The management staff were not seasoned and seemed helpless to accommodate us to our satisfaction. We got an $80 adjustment to our bill. Really? I recommend ---- confirm, confirm, everything and then confirm again! Print out your paperwork. Youll need it. Then keep your fingers crossed it all works out. We were truly disappointed.

Our stay was pleasant. The valet personal were wonderful. Check in took about thirty minutes which is a bit long to wait and towards the end we finally had three people checking guest in instead of two. Room service needs a little work on customer service. The rooms were very comfortable and loved having the option of two king beds in the room instead of the standard of two queen beds that most hotels have.

Great experience in every way. Clean rooms, friendly staff, smooth check-in process, location perfect, more than worth the price.

From Check in process to room service, stayed multiple times at this location and falls short of what most Westins tend to offer. Facilities and rooms are great. Lack of choices for food was a concern. Room service quality not good. Check in for 2nd time later then 4pm and was a fight to get a real time line from front desk.

The hotel lobby is beautiful and the adjacent entrance to Legoland was super convenient, but the staff are not trained well and misinformed. During an anticipated busy weekend, the restaurant was not staff appropriately to accommodate the guests. They dont give you all the information of the charges upon check in. The bathrooms are a small bathtub with shower, which is not what I expect at a Westin -- the rooms, however have been recently updated.

They are a new hotel, just opened a few months ago and it seems that they are still working out some kinks. I needed change on my first day there and none of the front desk employees could make change for a $20. Just for fun, I asked them the next 2 days as well - they were unable, on any occasion to break a $20. We had lunch at the restaurant one day - I asked for extra dressing when ordering - I got a basic salad with no extra dressing. I literally had to ask 3 more times before getting my extra dressing. That said, the food was not bad - just some infuriating issues that need to be resolved.

Booked this property for XMAS holiday visit with CA relatives. location was convenient, accommodations were very clean, modern, beds very comfortable. needed better closet storage for length of stay, more conducive for a weekend. Restaurants were modern, service hours @ main restaurant were limiting. Menus fair, very CA in nature, more foreign for non CA tastes.

This is an amazing resort. The staff are incredible, the grounds are beautiful, the views are unforgettable. Very close to Legoland, so if you have children its perfect for that. The pool area is fantastic. Highly recommended for any occasion.

First off the great things. The hotel is situated right next to Legoland which provides a side entrance into the park for hotel guests. Youll need your key. Second the hotel itself is well-kept and gives a strong feeling of higher end. Unusual to find that feel for hotels that are located near kid amusement parks. We stayed in a junior suite which had a great view of the park and ocean. The room was clean and seemed as if were just remodeled. The pool is heated so it can be enjoyed all year round. Staff for the hotel is always accommodating and friendly. Standout staff member is Jeffrey, manager, who has helped us on several occasions to make sure our stay is superb! Now the cons. The gift shop is always open but hardly ever staffed, which results in guest having to take items to the front desk to pay or charge to room. Theres a coffeeshop but only seems to be open during the early morning. I went to get a coffee for my wife at 945am on a Monday and it was closed. The restaurant is on the higher end which in itself is not a bad thing as it fits the rest of the theme for the hotel. However the service is widely inconsistent. In a non packed restaurant we had to grab a manger because we had waited 20 min to be seated and another 20 min to get a drink order. Hoping this was an aberration

Charging for wifi is lame. Most people have enough data on their phone plans now that they don’t “need” to use the hotel wifi. Instead of using my hotspot for my ipad, using the wifi would be more convenient, but not enough so to justify the price of the wifi. To provide your guests with free wifi represents a minimal additional expense to the hotel when compared to the benefit of having a happy customer that feels like the hotel is not trying to nickel and dime them. We get enough of that from the airlines.

I stayed at the hotel many times when it was the Sheraton. The Westin upgrades to the property are amazing (both the rooms and the restaurant). I highly recommend this property.
