My piano was purchased new 30 years ago. It must have been constructed during the time of some change at the factory, and the pins seem to have been for a different sounding board. Within a very short period of time, the lower register failed to hold a tune at all. Under warranty, the company took the piano back and re-pinned the lower register. I should have insisted that they do the entire piano, but reasonably trusted their assertion that the rest of the piano would be okay It wasn’t, and over time, the same problem occurred in the middle and upper registers. We limped along until about five years ago, when the person who had been tuning the piano told me she would no longer tune it unless it was re-pinned. The piano quickly became unplayable. Knowing that the physical and financial scope of the project would be significant, I didn’t really know who to trust. My son recommended Nathaniel, who came, assessed the piano, made the arrangements to move it for repinning, and tuned it when it was returned. During the tuning, Nat found a very obscure error in the restringing. I doubt that many others would even have realized something was wrong, and yet Nathaniel did, and tracked down the error in the lower regions of the piano behind another layer of strings…very impressed!In addition to their expertise in the area of these instruments, their business practices were equally stellar. Prompt service with clear and frequent communication left nothing to be desired. I doubt a better company servicing pianos exists.

Our, very old, piano sounds like new again, and some nagging issues were taken care of. Additionally, we were able to decided on a course of action for a long term issue that previous technicians had brushed off. I am very happy and would recommend the company to anyone.

Nathaniel is a very competent Piano Technician, and his skills extend well beyond just tuning. In addition to performing a pitch raise on my piano (that hadnt been serviced in 12 years), he also removed the action and replaced several hammer flange pins to resolve some sticky keys that developed over the years. He also eliminated a nasty clicking noise that produced an audible echo every time I played any key within the entire 7th octave. The culprit, as he quickly found, was a nut that had walked itself loose so the screw between the action bracket and the hammer rest rail was moving. He simply tightened it, and the clicking was gone! To go further, Nathaniel even did a Zoom meeting with me a few weeks later when the humidity swung and I got two new sticky keys. Nathaniel walked me through applying a little CLP to the flange pins of the two corresponding keys, and within one minute, the hammers were swinging free again and the piano played much better. Plus, hes one of the nicest people Ive ever met. I would be happy to recommend him to service your piano, and I look forward to continuing to work with him. Thanks Nathaniel!

I have been very pleased with Nathaniels work. Because my piano had not been tuned in over 40 years, it was extremely out of tune. He has worked on it twice, and it sounds wonderful. I can now enjoy playing.

Communication prior to the appointment was excellent -- received emails and a written note confirming our appointment. On the day of the appointment, I received a phone call from Nat prior to the appointment time saying that he was stuck in traffic and would be about ten minutes late (most people would just show up late without the courtesy of a call). I discovered Osborne & Everett while searching for piano tuning and repair near me. My piano had not been tuned in 10 years and I wanted to start playing again. The old spinet is very sentimental to me as my parents worked very hard to purchase that piano, for their 12 year old daughter, in 1961.I compared the Osborne & Everett website to others and , one thing stood out, they were upfront with the cost of tuning, cleaning, repairing sticking keys, etc., by actually stating the prices! Scheduling with them was so easy on the website and , they immediately emailed me back a confirmation and , an email reminder as the appointment date approached.Nathaniel Everett called me the day of our appointment to let me know he was running 10 minutes behind and, arrived shortly after the call. I was very impressed with his politeness and professionalism. He discussed what he was going to do and, if I had any questions. He was very thorough, cleaned, tuned and fixed the problem keys, etc.When he was finishing up, he played several short pieces, tweeking keys as he went along. He ended with a beautiful piece......I had to clap when he was done......my piano had never sounded so good, the old lady came back to life!!!! I already have my next appointment scheduled, a follow-up in 6 months, to see how the piano is holding tuning, etc.I wholeheartedly recommend Osborne & Everett to anyone who wants their piano to sound its best , whether it be for playing a simple Chopsticks or , an intricate and demanding Concerto . The recent service performed by Nathaniel was to do a follow-up tuning of a piano string that had broken and needed to be replaced during the tuning the week before. At that previous time, Nathaniel had mentioned that the string would likely need to be re-tuned, and that I should call as necessary. Indeed, within a couple of days, the string was significantly out of tune... and, within 2 days after my communication to O&E reporting the issue, Nathaniel came back to resolve it. I was impressed by the considerable time and care he took in making sure that this new string was sufficiently stretched and would continue to hold its pitch. Nathaniel made a follow up visit to tweak my Knabe Ampico. When he arrived the problem had self corrected itself with the change in weather. While he was here we did find that one of my notes wasnt playing and he corrected that. He also endured helping re hang the fenders that hide the stack on the A pianos. A productive service call, made as usual right on time!
