Everyone was very nice and professional, including my stylist. I have curly type 3b/3c hair and asked for a trim and shaping, and most importantly to keep my length. Unfortunately, it just did not turn out how I expected. My hair was cut dry and looked cute at first, but also looked way shorter than I anticipated (especially the back). After it was washed and styled, it was even shorter than I thought because my type of curly hair shrinks without enough weight, which is why I always keep it at least shoulder length. For reference, my curls went past my shoulders prior to the haircut, but now hang 3 inches above my shoulders. I estimate this will take 2 years to grow out.In summary, I did not have a bad experience with the salon per se. I just dont think a Devacut is the right type of haircut for my fine, 3b/3c curly hair and I would caution anyone with very curly/coily hair before trying out this type of cut. The stylist was very nice, however, and I think she would do a great job on curly hair types 2-3a.

I had my first visit to 5th Avenue today and was so delighted I had to write a review! Everybody was so friendly, the atmosphere is luxurious and relaxing. My lovely stylist Lexie listened to my hair concerns and questions attentively and talked me through everything she did for my stubborn, crazy curls and I ended up with a curly cut that I LOVE! It was like a haircut and a master class in curl care all in one! Cant recommend enough and I booked my second appointment that same day! Thank you 5th Avenue :)

Absolutely love 5th Avenue! I’ve been going to Jess McCoy for 15 years. I’ve had my hair every color and length and I’m impressed with how educated and professional the staff is there. Always learning a new technique and continuing education. Jess has recently gotten certified to do hand tied weft extensions because I kept bugging her to :) they are like family and I even fly up from FL to see her every couple months to get my hair did! It’s a true pamper day when I visit!

I absolutely LOVE everything about 5th Ave. From the moment you are greeted at the front door until the time you leave, you feel you are their primary focus with a strong desire to go above and beyond and get it right. I especially value Jess (co owner) for not only what she does to and for my hair but also for how she develops and mentors new stylist to become true masters at what they do. It is evident she loves what she does. There’s many salons to pick from and I know where I can trust...making my 1.5 hour drive there so worth it!!

I had a curly cut and highlights here a couple years ago and still remember the experience because of how rudely I was treated. Jessica who is part owner just wanted to rush me along and not answer my questions. She talked down to me. She was unwilling to take the time to answer my questions thoroughly she just wanted to get started and did not really care about getting the best results for my hair. As a result I got the most expensive cut and highlights of my life and was completely unhappy with the results. The highlights came out completely red(which was not the look I was going for) and the styling of my curly hair was not good either. I could overlook all of that if it wasnt for the condescending rude nature of the stylist. I just cant believe she is the co owner. I would not recommend this business.

I have been going to 5th Avenue for years! I have had a number of stylist, all of which were professional, timely and wonderful. The front desk always has great customer service as well! Will always recommend!

An employee here dyed my hair old lady gray. I asked for platinum blonde. The owner doesnt come across over the phone as a nice person, and defended the employees mistake. The employee had the audacity to ask for a tip. They also overcharged me. Which they correctly. But later I disputed all charges with my bank regarding this salon. 3 months later I had to cut dark gray/blue color out of my hair. It was not temporary as they claimed. I dont recommend this place at all.

I love coming here. I’ve been a client since their days in their small building off of the Holly Pike. They keep up with current styles but still have such a personal touch, no matter who the stylist is. Special shoutout to Brianna for always making me feel so wonderful after our touch ups!

I had such an amazing experience with Alyse! I have 3b/3c curly hair and she was incredibly knowledgeable of my curls, treated them as they should be and did a Deva consultation/ Deva cut on my hair. I loved it so much! I will definitely be back for regular hair care with Alyse for my curls! I am so happy to have finally found a stylist :)

First time getting a haircut at 5th Avenue in Carlisle, Pa. Receptionist and other staff were very welcoming and professional. Definitely plan on coming here to get my haircut again.

Went in for a blowout w/ Erica and she is absolutely AMAZING!! She could tell immediately how thin my hair is and that the prior person at a different salon had just cut it completely wrong. She has some time between appointments, so she immediately worked her magic and shaped up my hair, and it looked so great. We then talked about me coming back for color and what we would do. Came back for color 3 days later, and all i can say is WOW!! My hair has never looked and me feel so beautiful. Erica’s talent is just beyond amazing. She told me things to do and not to do with my hair that no other stylist even mentioned to me. Her artistic talent is just beyond excellent! Beyond her talent, she is just a doll to talk too also. Super sweet! I’m trying to grow my hair long again, so I am just so excited to see what Erica does with it. The salon all around is very professional and relaxing. The girls at the desk are also very nice to talk to also. So glad I found 5th Ave & Erica. I got so many compliments on my hair and it felt really good for once. So a HUGE thank you to Erica & 5th ave for being so welcoming!!

Alyse is amazing! For any curly girls Id highly recommend getting a Deva cut from Alyse. You will not regret it!

They don’t give good perms, my perm lasted about 3 days and it wasn’t even good to begin with.
