Billy from A-1 Affordable Chimney stopped by my house and checked out the job from the outside, the very next day after I called.We then made an appointment for him to check out the components of the job inside my home.Upon entering the basement, he knew something was wrong. It was quite hot in my basement.( a situation I was accustomed to).So, although it was already the end of his work day, and well into the evening, he disassembled the portion of the flue that is above the furnace. He then discovered that my chimney was entirely blocked! This is, obviously, very dangerous. He opened up the blockage and reassembled everything so that I could still safely have heat.All the while he worked, he explained to me how and why this happens. It was Christmas eve, and a bad start to the end of 2020, water heater went and was just done being replaced, now the chimney had issues. Billy and his crew showed up and assessed that we needed a liner installed. Now mind you its Christmas eve, raining and we were distraught with all that was going on in one night. Being concerned about my family with carbon monoxide. I recently had a company from the area come out and evaluate my chimney. Which ended up giving me a CRAZY price of thousands to replace my entire chimney.. Asked a couple neighbors who they used. I called A1 Affordable Chimney to clean my chimney. They came the same day and promptly completed the job. Cost was very reasonable. Inspection of flue showed the 100 year old flue was failing. I requested they install a new stainless steel liner to secure the chimney for safe use. He returned the next day and installed the liner. The installation of the liner was complicated by the damaged flue and took a herculean effort to complete. However, after working much longer than projected to complete the job, the bill was still the same low price originally quoted. The installation is outstanding, the clean up was superb. I am very particular about work performed for me and yet I HIGHLY recommend A1- Affordable Chimney for their integrity, promptness, and technical expertise.

We called Bill while he was on vacation because we had a problem with our chimney. Not only did he answer the phone but he told me he would come out to the house as soon as he returned and he did. Bill was the only contractor that showed up to give us an estimate which shows his dedication to his craft. He showed up on a Sunday gave me a quick estimate and called me back three days later. How often do you call a professional out to a house built in the 20s, and advises you that you do Not need a new chimney or chimney work. Within 2 days they were at my house did a thorough inspection including photographs of my chimney from the basement and the roof, gave me some advice but would not take any money. We were in our new home about a year when we decided to get the chimney cleaned. We never had a chimney in our home before so I was nervous about using it. Called today (Sunday @ 5:00pm) and was able to come over in 30 minutes!!! My boiler was smoking bad so thought it was exhaust/chimney related issue.He checked it out said the chimney was fine and did not need a cleaning. In this day and age to actually get a honest businessman is rare...so the fact that he could of made a quick $100, but HE DID NOT really impressed me!! He did not want any money, but I gave him $20 for his time and maybe some gas and a cup of coffee. If I or anyone is in need of chimney repair/cleaning/etc. I will recommend A-1 (and Bill) 100% of the time!!!!

I am new to the area and needed a good, affordable, honest chimney sweep guy, so based on the reviews I read online decided to call A-1 Affordable Chimney. I left a message indicating my pellet stove was not working because I thought it was an air flow problem and perhaps the chimney flue needed to be cleaned. Bill, the owner, called me back within minutes and went out of his to clean my chimney that same day. I cannot say enough good things about the professional and courteous job he did for me. He even took off his boots every time he came into the house from outside so that my newly cleaned hardwood floors wouldnt get dirty. After he was finished cleaning the chimney, he came back into the house and waited until I restarted the pellet stove. It worked great! I promise, this is the first time Ive ever written a review for anybody, but when someone does as great a job as A-1 Affordable Chimney did, the least I can do is write them a great review.

I contacted Billy (the owner) to inquire about fixing the leaky chimney cap on the top of my brick chimney. On the first phone call, he scheduled time (on that same day) to come to my home and diagnose the problem. When he inspected the chimney, he informed me of my problem and how to fix it...He took pictures to illustrate to me what he was seeing (the top of my chimney is around 40 high) and to show me what the issues consisted of. He explained, in clear detail, what needed to be done and I told him to move forward. He said that he would have to have a custom cap made for my chimney and that it could take a week or so to get that done...Which I was fine with...Well, he got it made and delivered in two days! The cap has not yet been installed (this whole process is less than a week old) but he has offered to install it on Saturday and even offered to do it on Sunday (during NFL Playoffs, no less)! Billy gets it...He understands how important excellent service is to his customers and for that he will have repeat business and lots of referrals. He is honest and very fair with his pricing. If there were a 6th star for the rating, he would get one from me...You dont need to contact anyone else for your chimney-related maintenance and repair servicing.

A1 AFFORDABLE CHIMNEY CAME OUT TO OUR HOUSE BECAUSE OUR HEAT STOPPED WORKING AND AFTER OUR PLUMBER SPENT HOURS TRYING TO GET THE FURNACE TO WORK HE TOLD US THAT THE CHIMNEY WAS BLOCKED AND THATS WHAT CAUSED THE FURNACE TO KEEP SHUTING DOWN,THIS WAS AT 8PM ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS, WE CALLED A1 HOPING TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING, WE WERE SHOCKED THAT THE MAN ON THE PHONE ANSWERED AND SAID HED BE RIGHT OVER, THEY CAME OUT AND TOOK PICTURES OF THE INSIDE OF OUR CHIMNEY AND SHOWED US THE TRAINWRECK INSIDE OF THE FLUE, THEY UNBLOCKED MY CHIMNEY AND SUGGESTED WE INSTALL A LINER TO PREVENT FUTURE TROUBLE WITH THE CHIMNEY, WE AGREED TO THIS AND THEY INSTALLED THE LINER THAT NIGHT AND HOOKED OUR FURNACE UP AND GOT IT RUNNING LIKE NEW.. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE DEALT WITH A CHIMNEY COMPANY AND I MUST SAY THAT AFTER THEY LEFT I COULD ONLY FEEL LIKE WE CALLED THE RIGHT GUYS, ITS NICE TO FEEL THAT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE SOMEONE YOU CAN CALL THAT ISNT LOOKING TO DRAG YOU OVER THE COALS BECAUSE YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, THIS GUY WAS GENUINLY CONCERNED THAT OUR HEAT WAS NOT WORKING,, I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 10 STARS,, THANKS GUYS

These guys are good they came out and fixed our chimney for a very affordable price and we had other estimates and A1 gave us the best price we cant imagine getting a better job, they cleaned up the debrie and brought us outside to look at the finished work to make sure we were happy,, thank you billy and johnny for the excellent work
