Jackson of Jacobs Air Conditioning and Heating came to our home to do the annual Fall check of our HVAC system. Working both in the garage and in the house, he was very quiet as he progressed through his work during the hour or so that he was there. Not also during that time, he had another employee with him, on what assumed was a training mission. We were emailed a report very son after they left. It was, overall, a very good experience with Jacobs.

I highly recommend Jacobs Air Conditioning & Heating. The service person was professional and they were quick to get me in to repair my AC on a hot day. I also thought the pricing was very fair. I will use them again without hesitation.

We got a new heating and AC system from Jacobs. We had to wait til the snow and ice had melted before they could install, but they loaned us some space heaters to use in the meantime. We appreciated the thorough work by the tech, Eli. He left everything neat and tidy. We also were grateful that Eli stayed late to explain the workings of the system to us.

Heating went out during the holidays. Got a diagnosis. Ordered needed parts, and fit in a service call to get those parts in. All for a very reasonable price. Jim Jacobs Air & Heating are the best! If you want quality service and honest professionals theyre the ones to call. They are thorough, detailed, and courteous. I have hired them for maintenance, new build jobs, and repair work. I am a long-standing customer and will remain as such.

When a local HVAC company told us our whole system was old and needed replacement, we called Jacobs to get a second opinion. Jim came right out and was able to tell us exactly how old the system is, and that it looked fine. We did need a drain added, as the old furnace was sending condensation right into our crawl space. Eli came out and did that work, on time, when he said he would, with a smile and ability to tell us what he was doing. Fixed it all and did a few tweeks to other issues. All in all, we are VERY happy with Jacobs.

My wife and I recently contracted with Jacobs Air Conditioning & Heating to have additional insulation blown into our attic. The access hatch to the attic is in our closet and we assumed that there would be a lot of resulting dirt, dust and insulation that we would need to clean up after the job was finished. Not so! Prompt and thorough service, with more than reasonable pricing. They worked to solve the problem, not just put a superficial fix on it. Same review - and even more confident in it. After a couple of years, had another AC issue (slow leak) - recommended eventual unit replacement, but fixed problem short term and gave options for longer-term fixes/replacement. Jacobs solved a 3 year long heating problem for me that at least 10 other professionals did not resolve. I purchased a specialized heating unit for commercial use about 3 years ago from another company. From day one, it did not work. We replaced almost every part and spoke to every technician from the maker of the unit.....no answer. Even though Jacobs had not sold the unit, they came out many times to clean and or repair the unit and spent many hours researching the unit. Mr Jacobs himself took on the challenge and bottom line, he found a way through Jacobs extensive commercial connections, and some charm, to replace the unit (i had no warranty) with a brand new upgraded unit at no cost to me. This was something that had been hurting my business and my pocketbook and if we had had to buy a new unit, it would have been a serious challenge. This is a company that has a rare combination of extreme knowledge and professionalism, while at the same time has a family owned business approach to customers. Jacobs went totally above and beyond the call of duty, hours of calls and research on a unit they dont normally carry or service. We have had excellent results with our home heating and air from Jacobs, but now they are the one and only heating and air company we will have for home or our business for life!!! Their staff of trained technicians is often part of the Jacobs family, they are smart, quick, clean up their job, and do it right kind of workers.

The serviceman was friendly and polite. Fixed my daughters air conditioner within an hour. I had Jacobs to my house last fall to fix my air conditioner and it was the same technician and he was amazing and efficient. I will call on Jacobs for all my cooling and heating needs. AMAZING SERVICE!!!! I manage a vacation rental property in Cobden and on the 4th of July, with renters the AC stopped working. I called all over the next morning to find someone who could come look at it ASAP but no one answered because of the holiday weekend or wanted to charge me a overtime, hourly fee. Eli not only called me back but stopped what he was doing (on his day off) and rushed over. Unfortunately after hours of trying everything the AC was pronounced dead 🤪 I had new renters coming in the next Friday (one week away) and he made sure to get the new AC ordered, delivered and installed so as not to loose the reservation. I was absolutely astonished by what seemed to be genuine concern for my predicament. You don’t find too many people that actually care about there work and there clients. The price was fair and no hourly fee! I can’t recommend Jacobs more highly. Don’t use anyone else!

My previous system had a failure that was not worth fixing. I contacted 3 local HVAC companies to come out to give me quotes for new systems. Jacobs was quick to come out to the house and quick to get me estimates with 4 different options at different price levels as I requested. Jim explained the benefits of each option and helped me decide which option was best for me. The new equipment was installed in a couple days and we were back up and running. Our home has been more comfortable than ever since the new equipment. The variable speed air handler is so much better than what we had. Our power bills have averaged about 25% less than with the old system. We are very happy with the new system and the service we received from Jacobs A/C and Heating.

Our 20+ year old furnace and AC unit needed to be replaced along with all of the duct work. It was going to be an expensive undertaking which I wasnt thrilled about, but thats life. Both Eli and Jim were courteous and professional. They gave me a rundown of the situation and laid out all my options. They also took care of the Ameren Incentive paperwork and went over financing options when the cost became more than I could afford up front. It took about 3 days to replace everything which seems pretty good considering the amount of work that had to be done. The new furnace is more efficient and heats up the house a lot faster. The more modern thermostat has some nice features we didnt have before and can be accessed via phone app. Overall Im very happy with their work and would recommend them to others.

They were awesome and did a great job! They came out just before an ice storm hit to fix our furnace, then drove to the next town over DURING the ice storm to pick up a part to repair the unit. Their technician stayed the whole time to check and make sure that the problem was fixed before leaving. Very impressed with this company! It was time to replace our heat pump and we had estimates from every major hvac company in Southern Illinois. Jacobs gave us the best offer hands down and paid attention to details that other companies did not. For instance, we had a mismatched outdoor unit and air handler. Every other company just recommended a 3 ton heat pump because of the air handler inside. Jacobs noticed the units were mismatched and did an actual load calculation to figure out what size was actually correct for the space. Also, they were the only company that helped get us an incentive with Ameren, which saved us a good bit of money. If all of this wasnt enough, the work was conscientious, detailed, and neat. Oh yeah, they even sent a thank you card in the mail. I mean come on! Do yourself a favor, call them first and dont bother with another company.

However the most recent issue that I had with my unit at home Williams was very unpleasant. The gentleman kept repeating that we should just replace the unit and it was going to be very expensive to service our current system. Both Eli and Jim are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They are honest, hard working, and fair.

Jim and crew replaced an old system with a Trane heat pump. They also replaced the ducts that vented most of the heat and air into the walls and under the house rather than out the vents. They cleaned up each day, put in new return air vents, and even took the old system away. As a result, we are saving at least $50 a month, and the house is comfortable year round. Excellent work!!!
