I have had nothing but the best experience with this veterinarian. Sarit was the best part of my visit every time. Not only did she make my puppy comfortable but she made us feel welcome. I look forward to visiting again soon and will be back as long as she is working there!

Ive been going to Capitola Vet Hospital for years. Its one of the best if not the best animal hospitals in the County. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. The Doctors really care about your animals and you as well. I highly recommend Capitola Veterinary Hospital.

Great service, always. Helpful, kind, efficient, and caring. I cant say enough positive adjectives for Capitola Vet Hospital. And, that is based on multiple pets (cats and dogs), various incidents (check-ups, surgery, etc.) over many years of being a customer.

Dr. May has been our vet for years. He was wonderful when we had to treat our pets cancer and torn back leg ligament. He kept Sady alive for almost 14 years. Thats remarkable for a Boxer breed. We now have a new dog and we are back in his office. He is the most professional and knowledgeable doctor we have ever met.The staff at the clinic are great too. Special kudos to Shelly who helped us with Sadys rehabilitation.

I have a 5 year old dog. Her name is lillie and she is my world. She is very shy with new people and very scared. They made me and my baby feel comfortable and they filled me in every step of the way. They are amazing. I felt that they really cared about my baby and they didnt just see paychecks.

We love Dr. Volat, and the whole team. My cats are treated so well, despite their salty attitudes toward any human trying to make them hold still. All of my concerned cat parent/scientist questions are thoroughly and considerately answered. I know my cats will live long and healthy lives, with this veterinary hospital crew in their corner.

My family’s dogs have been under the care of all the Dr’s at Capitola veterinary, each of these creatures as well as the owners have been treated with respect and utmost care. Sometimes diagnoses aren’t easy nor are prolong care cheap. However they do care about the health of all pets. I have in my time at Capitola Veterinary cried due to prognosis and making that ultimate decision to give my beloved family pet the dignity and honor they deserve when the time comes to let them go. Dr. May and all staff have assisted in providing guidance to the hard decisions we as owners have to make. Remember they too are are humans and professionally and compassionately bare our tough times with us.

I switched to Capitola Vet when SC Vet Hospital was no longer able to provide the level of care I’d experienced with them for over 20 years. The folks at Capitola Vet have exceeded my every need for caring for my critters (14 yr old lab and 2 yr old cat). They are incredibly thorough, attentive, kind, and supportive. They also do NOT recommend unnecessary and expensive testing or treatment for every little thing that comes up.RB

SO SO SO disappointed with the care my dog received here. This veterinary clinic is completely careless. They are more focused on the money they can get out of people instead of the care they are giving to the animal.Let me start my saying the people at the front desk are totally disorganized. I called to set up an appointment for vaccinations with Michelle, and asked for the estimate for the appointment to me send to me, which they did, however when I called the next day to ask a clarifying question they said there was no appointment on the books for me....Even though I had confirmed the date with Michelle several times and had the email from her. That week my dog pulled a muscle in her back leg. They were able to get her in for an exam and said to have her rest it for the next month and they would give her another exam at the appointment for shots that I already had scheduled.A month later we showed up for our appointment they said they did not have anything about the exam happening written down, but they would do the shots. I was awfully upset as keeping our dog on bed rest for another couple weeks until the could fit us in for the exam sounded impossible. As they took her back I reminded them of the injury in her leg. When she was done I carried her to the car and she nipped at me when I got close to her back leg. I called back the office to see what this might be from and I spoke to Shelly, the lead vet tech, and was told the careless vet techs put the most painful shot for the dog into her already injured leg!! She went on to assure me that all her techs were extremely knowledgeable, but had no reason why they would make this mistake....my guess is the are POORLY TRAINED!!! My dog could not bear weight on her already hurt leg for another week. I was promised one of the vet manager would call me back...that was over a month ago and I have received zero follow up, but you bet they still send me emails to try and get me to spend money with them. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.If you truly care about the well-being of your pet- take them somewhere else.

Dr. May and team have been caring for our two cats since we got them from the Santa Cruz animal shelter in 2012. They care for these cats as if they are part of their own family. Unparalleled care, thorough examinations and clear, complete explanations of evaluations and lab results (verbally and in writing), and exemplary follow up. They are transparent about billing practices and explain procedures and their costs along with their recommendations in an understandable manner. Dr. May takes his time with us and our animals during the checkups and is incredibly patient with our questions and accepting of our personalities (felines and humans.) When one of our cats died suddenly, we were blown away by the outpouring of sympathy from Dr. May and his entire staff. Ive said it before, but I wish our family physicians could be more like Capitola Veterinary Hospital. I am so grateful to have them. They are the best weve ever experienced in our 40+ years of pet ownership/care.

My dog, Lucy, had been a patient at CVH for over a year. She suddenly became very ill and at my request was euthanized by Katie Volat, DVM and Anthony the veterinary technician. They could not have been more kind to Lucy and patient with me through what was a very hard time. I highly recommend Capitola Veterinary Hospital.

Do not trust this veterinary. I understand that they are in the business of making money but unfortunately at the expense of dishonesty. I paid for an exam and heartworm test (because both are required) and they became angry when I chose to order from an online retailer (for %40 less of the price). When I went to reorder the medication I was told that the prescription has been revoked and that it would be necessary for another exam and test.I called 3 times and received 3 different answers, each time the rep apologized for the previous inaccuracies. This place is a scam.
