First off, I want to thank Rod Nichols for treating us so kindly. We wouldn’t go to anyone else! The only issue I have is the detailing part. I had a great experience , buying a used car here. Rod is a great salesperson. Ian and all the staff are very helpful. No fluff or loligaging around. Rod worked very hard to earn my sale. Having been a sales person myself, I know a lot of the ins and outs, he was straight forward and honest. I had done months of research and they had cars I wanted to see and priced at or below market value. I know for a fact I got my moneys worth. I spent a lot of time driving cars, inspecting them and Rod was very gracious. I have taken off one star, due to the fact that the first vehicle I looked at,had some issues that their intake/ inspection department obviously over looked and it cost them a sale on that particular vehicle. However, the vehicle I did purchase was top notch and had much more detail taken with it. They had installed ,new tires,rotors,break pads , battery and windshield wipers all the way around. I was deciding between a few different cars, (Audi, VW, and Volvo), and chose to lease my first Volvo. When I called I was connected to Roger and I was impressed by his professionalism and patience from start to finish. I asked for options for buying and leasing between two cars with different packages. When I picked up the car I felt at ease when signing the paperwork and Roger was very thorough with giving me a tour of the car and all the features. He knew the car and I never felt like I did at other dealerships where they were overselling the product. I will be sure to write a follow up review for the regular maintenance (3 maintenance checks for every 10k miles) that is included with the lease as well as the process to turn in the vehicle at the end of the lease. The entire experience was worth the hour drive to Kempthorn.

During a recent out of state trip my Mercedes tire was punctured on the high way by steel spike. The alert system was quick to notify me of tire pressure change and activated mercedes me SOS while I was still driving on the Interstate. Great family dealership, and one of the few left still doing it the right way. I live 3 hours away, and conducted most of the deal from home before making the drive. I worked with Grant, a very friendly and easy gentleman to work with. He held the vehicle for a small deposit. I traded my wifes 2013 Ram for a 2015 Suburban LT at the used car lot with no issues. I was in and out in about an hour, and it couldve been quicker, but Tim was busy with a few customers in the finance office. I arrived, test drove, signed paperwork, wrote the checks, and was on my way. I will contact them first for any future purchases, because of my experiences contacting multiple dealerships and having issues with their business practices.100% recommend. 100% worth the drive.

I inquired to lease or buy a Jetta gli from here and received no help what so ever. I am from out of state and was very interested in this car because it was very hard to find due to the VW chip shortage. I was pressured from the beginning to put down a $500 down payment even though none of my questions had been answered. If you are in a similar situation I would not recommend doing business here.

Ordered a part and I didnt need it and they charged me 35 dollars to return it.

If you do not have deep pockets and buying a brand new Mercedes from them do not buy a used vehicle from them I bought a 2001 Buick Century Car look pristine it had under 60,000 miles and not a spot of rust. I had to put a new transmission in it within 34 days of purchasing it and the transmission shop also let me know that they had put an additive in it to make it seem like it was driving fine so they could sell it. Do not buy a used vehicle from these people not only did I paid 3400 for the car but then I had to pay 2300 for a new transmission I tried calling them no one ever got back ahold of me ever I guess if youre not buying a brand new Mercedes you do not matter to them

Changing my review to reflect reality. I was promised a $20 fuel card in return for a positive review. That was over a month ago.I bought my Lancer from these guys and paid cash in full. More hassle than it ever should have been, and by the time they tack their fees and such on, a good deal isnt quite what it couldve been! $250 processing fee for them to file paperwork??? Not to mention I had to practically twist the guys arm to get the car on a rack so I could inspect my purchase before buying. I nearly walked away before it was given the okay.Were fueling it up and cleaning it out while you wait Meaning I got a half tank of fuel and they took the stickers off the windows. Many other negatives but tbh? If Im paying cash for another vehicle? Which I always do? Ill not be going to these guys again. I shouldnt have had to work to hand someone cash for a used car!

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!Made arrangements on Saturday to look at an 2018 Camry on Tuesday. Talked Monday with salesperson Rod on phone to verify appointment on Tuesday.Emailed him Tuesday saying I would be there at 330.He said great.Arranged financing at my bank for the Camry.He emailed me last minute at 12 saying he had someone looking at it at 1245 and if they didnt get it I could look at it at my appointment time. Needless to say I was not happy and thought this was really not cool that they ran their business like this.

The passenger side rear tire on my car was punctured by a utility knifes blade while travelling at 80 mph on interstate 77 north. I had my vehicle towed to Kempthorn Motors and they were able to replace my tire and get me back on the road. We took our 2012 Mercedes in for an oil change appointment and to have a random passenger side air bag error code addressed. 4 hours later we were told “some old codes” were cleared and the passenger seat was checked and it’s fine, the code was cleared. We paid for the services and a diagnostic fee. We live 45 minutes from the dealership. On our way home, the code came back on. We called and they said we’ll “try” to get you back in if you come back. When we got back we left it running so he could see the code. He never once apologized for us having to come back. Apparently they don’t care much about customer service in the service area. Another hour later, they said there would be more diagnostic fees to see what’s going on because everything was fine when we left. We asked to know what codes were cleared that related to the airbag or seat. Richard said just a bunch of codes, some 3 years old. We have only had the car about 3 months so we were curious about the cleared codes and if the airbag was safe it in an accident. He said it’s fine just may be the seat frame. WHAT?!? It’s for a passenger airbag in the dash not a seat frame. We feel totally taken advantage of. Never once did they apologize for us coming back, the inconvenience of our 5 hour day wasted there or anything. Has to be the worst customer service ever!

Went to buy a certified VW GTI. JR met with me and let me take the car for as long as I wanted. Encouraged me to stretch its legs a little and have some fun. Gave me a great price and some really helpful advice when it came to extras(telling me what I really needed and what I didn’t). Even threw in a roadside assistance bag. Never got the feeling that the car was being pushed on me, and I’ve bought quite a few cars. The dealer waiting room felt like home with any snack or drink you could think of. I live in Cleveland and I will be returning to Kempthorn from now on for car purchases.

Our first time there (the boy bought himself a VW) was pretty great- the service center is upfront and their prices are reasonable. Didnt try to pressure us into adding any services and everything was done quickly. Evening hours are SUPER helpful.

Kempthorn Brought My Jaguar Back to Life!Jim Kempthorn and Tony worked with me to restore my 2002 XKR Jaguar. After a blown engine (dont ask) I thought I would have to give up the car. However, Jim and Tony assured me that they could replace the engine and bring the car back to life. To say the least, I was VERY impressed with their work and professionalism. Tony put in a new engine and replaced nearly all the supporting components to bring the car back to life.
