What a great local shop. I had some damage during a road trip that ended my riding for the day and stopped in knowing nothing about the business except that it was close and had good reviews. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff - they stopped what they were working on, made a quick and cheap temporary fix and I was back on the trails. They took care of me, just a random walk in customer, the way most shops used to do and all shops should. I highly recommend RV&E to anyone in the area!

Very knowledgeable staff! Friendly and helpful. I havent owned a bike for about 20 years. They made me feel right at home by answering my questions and giving me choices. No hard sell, just great customer service! I bought a bike that I like a lot. Im enjoying cycling again.

After goin to the Harley Davidson in gva thinking because it had a motor that they were better skilled to square up this rim but after talking with them they suggested I go to a bike shop because in the end it was still just a bicycle wheel and they dont specialize in bicycle wheels. So, I bring it to this shop and they refused to fix it for me Because it had an extra gear. I Only needed it Trued up/Squared up. Still...They refused. In my opinion they didnt have the skill to do it. I say this because I went to a small bike shop in gva and they happily did the work I had asked to be dun. After about 30min I was back on my way. I do not recommend this bike shop for any wanting custom work or work similar to this post

Great sales people and service. Andy and Peter were really nice and helpful.

Took my e-bike there on 4/19 to have my brand new back tire mounted. The next dayI lost electric power and brought it back and we witnessed that Andy had forgotten to tighten the lug nuts down correctly and damaged my back axle. When I asked him for his insurance info for me to file a claim for the damages he declined to give me the info and started trying to insult me and raise his voice telling me that I wasnt allowed back in the store.

In both the Fairport store and in the Canandaigua store I was greeted and waited on as soon as I walked in the door. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and treated me with respect as an older woman cyclist. They went out of their way to listen to me, answer my questions, and make sure my needs were met. I left with the perfect bike for me!

I bought my bike from another shop. It was never quite right with shifting even though I had taken it back to the other shop for adjustment. I stopped in at RVE Canandaigua thinking about possible replacement bike. The dealer realized I wanted to hold on to my bike because it represented a major milestone in keeping my 60s and 70s physically and seriously active. He suggested a tune up. I went for it and was totally impressed by the results. The bike has never operated like it does now. The brakes are more responsive, the shifting is so much better with dead on gear transfers. Spencer also cleaned and lubricated and tightened up connections. It is good to still be with the old horse.

Excellent service! The stores door is just wide open to walk on in. Just stopped in today to get a flat tire tube replaced. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The tire replacement took less than 5 minutes from a walk-in appointment. Andy also oiled up my bike chain and tightened my seat for no extra cost. Will be visiting again for any bike service Ill need.

Andy is a top rate bike mechanic. He is friendly, easy to talk to & accepts you no matter what the level of cycling you adhere to.The employee mentioned in another post who was having a very bad day has chosen to leave. I am sorry the other customer had that experience. The employee was going through some stuff & as stated has left the store.I have always received great service at a very fair price.

Nice enough people, but the turnaround time is awful. I was coming back to Rochester to visit my parents for the weekend and hoped to go for a bike ride with my dad. My dad dropped his bike off on the Tuesday before I got home for them to do a tune-up. He was told it would be done by Friday. He called on Friday, it wasnt done yet, now Saturday. We swung by on Saturday hoping to be able to do at least one ride before I took off, but it was still not done. Not sure why it would take nearly a week to do a simple tune-up on a fairly standard bike, Id recommend looking at other shops for service.

Myself and a friend and his son were riding our bikes from Washington Crossing, Pa. to Niagara Falls, Canada on the fifth day we ran into a wicked rain storm and had to adjust our plans and take two more days to finish instead of one more long day. Fortunately it gave us the opportunity to stop in at the RV&E in Canandaigua. The owner and chief wrench were both excellent fixing by back wheel which had broken 4 spokes due to the extreme weight, 250 lbs., that my middle grade Specialized Mountain Bike was under with me and a full pack on it. They provide us with immediate service to get us back on the road even though it was in the middle of flooding conditions. The provided excellent service at a reasonable cost. We thank you for getting us back on the road. We are home and dry now.

I have used them to service my road bike, my wifes bike, AND my schwinn airdyne. They are awesome at both. Airdyne is a real pain to work with and they do such a great job. I own a fitness center in town and they break down a ton. Im actually going in tomorrow to pick up some armadillo tires that I just called to see if they had. They offered to hold them for me and as always were super cool even before they knew it was me. They are so great at service I sometimes feel bad I didnt have to pay more. They work, hard, fast, and for a very fair price. A town needs a bike shop like this for the novices like me and the experts who need fine tuning.

Oh my God! This was the worst experience I have ever had all my 56 years of life. Owner or whom ever this dude was went down stairs and started ranting and throwing F-Bombs like you would believe. Customers in the shop all just looked at each other and shook their heads. The guy was complaining about a generic customer wanting whatever but he wasnt happy about taking care of him. Now, cost of tune ups, bikes are way out of line....in my opinion. I took the bike I was going to spend my good hard earned money back to my truck. I have gone there for a couple of years with spring work and adding trinkets to our bikes. So, its not the first time I was there. They always seem like you are bothering them. If he was an employee I would have fired him on the spot. Maybe I should have just recorded it and put it on UTube. Then you could see what I and others had to deal with. If anything just go to another bike shop and get what you need.

I dropped my bike off for a tune up - 80$ and a 1-2 day wait.3 days and no communication later I call the store and ask about the status of my bike - they havent looked at it yet. Actually, whoever I spoke to was rather rude - If we havent called you, it isnt done yet. - and had to be asked to even check on my bike.Yet another day later Dan calls from Rv&E to say the bike needs extensive work, will be laid up for further time, and will cost triple the original quoted price. I ask if there is anything they can do to accommodate the fact that I should have been at least informed of the extra cost and delays 2 days ago - he refuses, absolutly no flexibility on a bill that is 75% labor.To top things off, when I arrived later that day to collect my bike it was still partially disassembled and I got to wait around as Dan rooted around the desk amd workbenches looking for pieces he had misplaced.Zero apologies, zero consessions, zero satisfaction.

I get my skates sharpened there and recommended them.

Worse Bike Store I ever visited. Although they say they rent bikes, in reality they only have 5 to rent. Although they say you do not need reservations you need them. Although they say that I misunderstood, they were trying to put words into a past phone conversation. Did not even try to help, try to provide alternatives. Terrible altitude.

I was having a rash of flats over the last few months. I felt like I was coming in every other week for a new tube. They turned me on to a set of kevlar tires that so far has kept me riding with no flats.I have bought one mountain bike and one fitness hybrid from the Canadaigua store. When I finally by a road bike I am sure it will be from RVE as well.
