I was originally referred to Los Gatos Auto Service a number of years ago when I had an electrical issue with my Trans-Am.Since then I have had ALL my out-of-warranty work done by this team.There are several reasons1) David and John have NEVER tried to upsell - in fact, they have discouraged me from some work by explaining why it was not yet necessary or useful.2) Their work has been exemplary -and they provide real warranty service. As an example, they did some major work on my TA 6 months ago - and when the weather turned warm the A/C was not functioning properly. I took it in - and was told that since they had worked on it 6 months ago there would be no charge.3) Their prices have consistently been extremely reasonable and they are pleasant and easy to deal with - and always explain anything I need explained.I not only take all my vehicle problems to Dave and John - I recommend them heartily to all of my friends.

I went to Los Gatos Auto Service, Inc. for a new car inspection. I was looking into to buying a car from a private seller and wanted some assurance that the vehicle was in good shape before purchasing.Lauren, an employee, set up the appointment for me and worked with the current owner to arrange the appointment. On the day of the appointment, Lauren made sure that I knew what was happening and communicated with me (even though the current owner was at the shop and not me). When it was time to pick up the vehicle, Lauren waited until I arrived to explain everything to me in detail. These guys are pros, highly recommend. Very thorough diagnostics supported with under body photos, explanatory web links and detailed write up covering what looked good, what items I should keep an eye on, and what items should be addressed. They offered me a free comprehensive inspection first and took detailed picture about the broken parts. The cost was also a lot less than the quote from dealer. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and highly recommend it to others.

Lauren, Dave, and team were super helpful from start to finish of my service request. I brought in a 2005 Honda Accord 4 cylinder to have them look at what was draining my battery. They found and fixed the problem and provided me with a status report about the rest of the vehicle. I moved on several of their recommendations and couldnt be happier. It took a day and a half for Los Gatos Auto to confirm what I suspected and had communicated might be the problem of unusual noise and they then quoted too high a charge for fixing the issue. They did not perform all the checks they quoted to do but at least that was a very reasonable price.

I drive a 1996 Infiniti I30 with 180,000 miles on it. This car was made in Japan and has class, and was built to last. I plan to keep this car for a long time to come.Dave has a lot of experience in trouble shooting old car problems. He and his team of dedicated mechanics do a remarkable job on this car, whenever its brought to their shop for maintenance or repairs.Although car repairs are expensive, however, if you were to spread the expense over time, its still a bargain, and because of them, the car runs like new. The only pressing thing that this car needs, is a fresh coat of paint!

Had a brake line that needed replacing same day. Very responsive and provided detailed explanations for a time sensitive repair. Worked to get the fix done before the end of the day Respectful and consistent communication. Cannot quite attest to how competitive the price was, but I have no reason to think the price was too high.

Theyve taken me in without an appointment, lent me loaner vehicles for the day, dropped me off, dont waste my time, been patient with my children 😄, and most importantly, have always been honest about needs fixing and what is most urgent to fix. I can not tell you what a GREAT experience I had with this outstanding company.I brought my 4x4 dully truck in on a Friday mid morning and they completed tire rotation, that’s six tires taking them off the rims and rotating them , and alignment and also a full front end brake job. rotors, calipers, pads, the whole 9 yards. Even though they had a full work load that day they stayed till 7:30 PM to finish the job. They deserve a lot more than five stars. Because of them I got to take my family boating for the weekend.

We decided not to do the water pump repair. It’s a very difficult and costly job and the car has too many miles to warrant it.

I rarely give 5 star reviews. Dave and team are HONEST mechanics. They care and go the extra mile... literally! Dave invests in good technology that improves the customer experience. I recommend Los Gatos Auto Service without reservation.

I dont know who all these other people are giving all 5s but that was not my experience. I wanted a basic tune up, brake check and one other thing. Brakes they said were fine, spark plugs on a V6 truck cost me $522 parts and labor, and the other thing I wanted I had to come back for another day. $522 for Spark plugs...That was only one if the things on the tune up. Not worth it.

I had a bad transmission. It wouldnt downshift on heavy acceleration and refused to go into first. They had their transmission expert look at it. 20 minutes layer, they identified the issue. $2500 rebuild. Got a second opinion at the local Dodge dealer $4500, same guarantee. The car was ready in a week. Runs like new. They didnt try to upsell anything either. Definately going to go back for future service.

Very professional shop / great customer service. Recently on a road trip to Northern California had an error with my air suspension on range rover. Land rover dealer wanted to book me in for five days later and said they would need for a full day. Dave had one of his guys clear the error code in 5 mins and I was on my way. Acknowledging that it was only 5 mins of work with the OBD computer he refused to charge me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
