Rick and his team are fantastic. I came to Advance Tire for a battery replacement and they made the simple experience such a pleasant one. At a recent oil change at my dealership, they offered some suspect recommendations for service. I got a second opinion from Rick’s team before acting and I’m so glad I did. Dont let the name fool you. While they are great with tires, they are champions at everything else. Rick and the team provides unmatched customer service, transparency, urgency, and communication. I had a chipped rim from hitting a curb and took it to Rick and the gang and they were great. Fortunately it was cosmetic, but he declined to fleece me for a new rim. So I gave him some more business and did the brakes and rotors. Its good to have a trustworthy rim and tire guy.

Friendly place with good tire prices and service. Its the only place I buy tires from anymore. Waiting for your car at the cafe right across the street sure beats the usual sitting around in a dingy waiting area at the typical national tire store.They recognize their repeat customers and always comment on their appreciation for returning for new service.

Rick was beyond helpful and quick with helping me get my wrangler’s tire plugged and fixed. His generosity for the public is unmeasurable. I thought I needed new brakes, to my pleasant surprise they told me I was okay! First time I haven’t just been sold a part, they actually were upfront with my brakes being sufficient still. If you like to support small businesses, and like dealing directly with the owner - who goes out of his way to make sure you keep coming back.....this is your kind of place. Tires, inspection stickers, oil changes, shocks, muffler, A/C and a radiator replacement are some of the things I have had serviced there over the years.

I work on area and thought would be convenient to have a tire mounted and balanced there but skipped them because they quoted price of $50 for just one tire to be done. Was told because they were run flat. Drove 2.5 miles to Firestone and they did it for $20 plus Firestone took old tire for free without charging $5 disposal fee. Thought I tried to help a smaller local business but better going to a big chain since probably less likely get over charged.

Second time going to Rick and second time that I wish I could give 6 or 7 stars. Had a bent rim, called to see if they could fix it, same day drop off and repair, quality work done quickly. Tough to beat! On top of all that, don’t think there is a friendlier or more professional group of guys working on cars in the area.

I ended up being an hour and a half late to my appointment and they still fit me in. The quoted time was accurate even after I got an additional service that wasn’t planned. I really wanted to love this shop. But the woman who answered the phone was rude and unprofessional. She seemed like she didnt want to help at all. She pretty much didnt know the answer to questions (like what to expect re: a tire change since it was my first time) and kept repeating unhelpful information, talking over me multiple times, and then eventually saying that she COULD ask someone who knew as if it was a huge favor she was doing for me (I didnt say this out loud but, Yes, in fact it would save everyones time if you could let me talk directly with someone who knows and wants to help! I didnt end up getting to talk with anyone else, just her as the go between). My interaction with her was a complete departure from the great reviews on here talking about how good and helpful this shop is. We will not be coming here in case we have to deal with her again.

A few months ago, I bought a car on Craigslist that unfortunately came with a boatload of problems even after supposedly careful research. Following this purchase, Advance has helped me navigate all of these issues so smoothly and they have been so understanding and generous given my financial circumstances. Even when my car broke down in the middle of the road, they gladly accepted my car without much warning. My car is now running smoothly, thank goodness. Highly recommend!

I went there for inspection purpose and they failed my inspection and suggested me to replace 4 tires. The estimate price is around 800 dollars. I went to see my car mechanist directly and being told that my tires are ok. Then I went to another place later and passed the inspection without any problem. I would not say they failed me on purpose because my snow tires are indeed old, but do not go there for inspection unless you are very confident in your car status or you regularly replaced your tires in their stores.

Advance Tire Company was highly recommended to me by some friends when I moved here from another state. I brought my car in because a previous mechanic had recommended an expensive repair before I moved. Rick checked out my car and found nothing wrong, and didnt charge me a dime. That honesty and generosity earned him a lifelong customer!

It is extremely hard to find the thorough and professional service like that of Advance Tire Company. I came here to get my all season tires mounted and balanced in place of the summer tires on the car, and my expectations were far exceeded. Rick, who took care of me up front, was friendly and very accommodating to my perfectionist tendencies when it comes to my car. The technician was equally receptive, and consulted me on my preferences multiple times to make sure I would be 100% satisfied. The facility is clean, organized, and waiting room friendly. I would certainly return again if needed.

Ive had really nice experiences here. Mostly inspections but also a muffler replacement. Whenever I am waiting for the inspection, I hear the conversations they are having with people on the phone, and they really take the time to walk through whatever the problem is. The shop is super convenient for me and has a kind and honest feel to it - doesnt get much better.

Fast, confident, convenient: I discovered a screw in my tire on arriving at work in Kendall Square. When I showed the staff a photo of the damage they were very accommodating and reassuring. I brought the car to them right away, a few minutes after the store opened. within an hour I had my car back with a patch in the tire. that was fast. the convenience of their location helped me and the confidence they showed in being able to service this issue right away was outstanding.

I had a screw in my tread so I came for a patch; I was told a metal tube was also lodged in the sidewall that was taken out and thrown in the trash, but it looked more like a perfect hole was drilled in the side so they could sell me a used tire; no metal tube was shown to me. if you’ve ever pushed a syringe through rubber, even that doesn’t drill a perfect hole. Buyer beware.

I came in a few days ago with a tire issue that I needed examined. It was in the morning and traffic was a nightmare, as it normally is in Boston. As I pulled in close to Advance Tire Company, an employee stopped what he was doing, and helped direct me into a spot to park that saved me from the aggressive drivers of New England, which turned what would usually be a stressful experience into something painless.I got out, and explained my issue. I found it really easy to talk to him because he was actually listening, and after giving some feedback he introduced me to the owner for me to get more details. I went into the main office, which I know sounds weird, but it was clean, organized, and inviting as a doctors waiting room. The owner give me details on the issue with the tires, and let me know the options. Not once did he pressure me with tire prices, he only gave me information on what was best for me.Even after we discussed that, we ended up just chatting. I have to say how impressed I am with how their operation as a whole is ran. I learned they are family owned, obviously passionate, and incredibly personable. I cant recommend enough, because I felt respected and taken care of.

I’ve been going to this mechanic for almost five years now and there’s no shop I’ve trusted more! They are extremely helpful in explaining everything that’s happening with your car and never force you or pressure you into making a decision based on money, you really feel that their recommendations are coming from a friend who is looking out for you. I can’t thank the Advance Tire teamI have been a long standing customer for many years and they continue to demonstrate superior customer service and superior service for my vehicle.I recently came out of the mall to find my 2015 Honda Pilot dead as a door nail and felt that I did not leave any lights on or anything to draw the battery down. Immediately, I called Advance Tire and asked for help. Rick, and his team had me try different scenarios to get my vehicle started to no avail. He asked if I was able to get a jump and to bring it in.I called AAA and had my car jumped and took it directly over to Advance Tire. The initial diagnosis over the phone was it could be the battery, but with the sound it was making when trying to start an alternator could be the culprit. As soon as I arrived the tech took my keys and started the diagnosis. It was determined that the alternator was no good and need to be replaced. It’s now 3:30 in the Afternoon and the thought of not being able to get home was concerning. Rick made a few calls in between handling a constant flow of customers to find an alternator for my vehicle!!The rest of my experience was nothing but outstanding and will continue to have the Advance Tire team handle all of my automotive needs from tires to any repairs.Thank you everyone and you guys are the best!

This is by far the best tire shop I have ever come across. The entire team is so courteous and eager to help that I cant say enough about them. On top of which they are lightning fast and I mean I brought my car in at 5PM and was out the door by 5:11PM. The price was spot on and they even had the weird tire my car takes. If you need a tire in the Kendall Square area or in Cambridge definitely check these guys out you will be very glad you did.

Got 4 tires and wheels for my Rav4. The owner did a good job in finding the correct tire size and rim shape (In particular checking for the correct width and offset) and special ordered the brand of tires I wanted.Pricing is a bit more expensive than ordering Tires online. This is Okay because it comes with awesome customer service! Tire changes are free forever for customer who purchase tires and wheels at the store and as I mentioned before, excellent knowledge of the job. I am 100% satisfied of a very premium experience.

NOT Trustworthy. Please beware.I took my car here for an inspection the other day. While everything else passed without any issues, they failed the inspection and told me that my parking break wasnt working properly and offered to fix it the following day for extra $$. I paid 35$ for the failed inspection, took my car, and left.I was skeptical. I have lived in 3 states and never failed inspection especially with the parking break!? The next day I took my car to my mechanic. They told me the break was perfectly fine. I didnt have to fix anything and ended up passed my inspection at another shop down the street.Not sure how they got all the high ratings from other customers.

I got new tires from this place last fall and they told me about their free tire rotation policy after a certain mileage. So I finally went in today for my complimentary tire rotation. These guys are so friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Amazing service and extremely nice guys. Was in a desperate situation to make it to a wedding when I noticed my tire had a bubble in it. They had the tire delivered and fixed within hours and all for a very fair price. Will definitely be back for any future tire repairs.

I got a nail in a tire and needed a quick fix. These people are truly skilled, detail oriented fast, friendly and have good prices! Some places will put a plug in a tire when it has a nail; this causes the tread to separate eventually and the tire will fail. Advance Tire Company tested it in a water tub, unmounted the tire, patched it from the inside, re-mounted and re-balanced it in less then 30 minutes and for the price that other places charge just to plug a tire! It was truly a pleasure finding them; I will bring my car there for service in the future.

ONE YEAR UPDATE: I have since asked 2 different mechanics (in addition to the one who passed me) and they both explained that using tape for a repair is fully legal in MA. I stand by my statement that this place wasted my time and money on a non-issue.If you want your state inspection to be failed based off of a cosmetic issue - this is the place to go.I had a small crack on my mirror where tape was used to prevent water ingress. They failed me off of that citing it as a safety concern. (there was not broken glass either)For 5 years my license plate went through inspections. They failed it due to some faded paint (the licences plate was in the same state since almost day one).

A small company but carrying many brands giving customers the best of service really quickly.Prices are basically the same as the giants like Costco but you are not treated like cattle and when you have a problem, it is not automatically your fault and there is some company policy that makes it that they cant help you without charging you more money.These are great people who will be there the next time you go in and will help you, not sell you.Buy local!

Hank and his co-owner run a tight ship. Mechanic staff was accommodating and were able to fit me in despite late notice. They did not try up-sell me with unnecessary maintenance and provided me with detailed, insightful advice on how to deal with my fledgling jalopy. I will indeed be returning.

Rick was extremely friendly and helpful! They fixed my tire valve TPMS and a hole in the tire in just 30 minutes! They even were looking out for the parking authorities so I dodged getting a ticket.

I brought my car in, and initially they thought they wouldnt be able to help me because the tire I needed wasnt in stock. After calling several dealerships in the area and finding out that I would more likely than not have to cancel the trip because no one could fix the tire until after the holiday weekend, the staff bent over backwards to find a way to fix it. This is the worst place Ive ever been to.I was told yesterday to pick up our car, and the guy on the phone said theyd leave the key and the receipt in the car in the parking lot where I originally left it. When I arrived there, however, I found nothing. I spent about one hour searching nearby area and the car was missing, worrying about it may have been stolen, I almost called the police. I made several calls to their number and no one answered it.This morning, I called the number again and they told us Its in another place, not the one we told you yesterday, come and pick it up before noon. The guy said he worked till 8 pm yesterday, and refused to admit it later since he did not answer the phone and did not notice my coming neither. When I finally saw the car, I noticed an obvious damage, and the steering wheel felt very loose. The guy there refused to apologize for their mistake, took my key and threatened me that unless I pay with cash instead of credit card, which theyve already charged yesterday, theyll keep the car until Monday.Not knowing what to do, I called 911. The police arrived and told me to get help from consumer council since its not part of the polices duty.I never complained about any bad service or unprofessional behaviors before because I believed people had bad time. However, this is even worse than the most terrible thing I can ever imagine, and I seriously do not want anyone else to have a similar experience.

I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to thank the gentlemen that work at this company. I drove from Philadelphia PA to Boston MA on Saturday (6/24), and was ready to make my return trip home at (9:00 AM on 6/26). When the valet at the Hilton Boston Downtown/Faneuil Hall brought me my car, I noticed the left rear tire was showing only a PSI reading of 22, while the day before it showed a PSI of 35. I checked the tire and noticed what looked like a nail or screw in it. I asked the front desk if they could recommend any tire repair places, and the one they recommended was a pretty decent ride away. I Googled Tire Repair places, and Advance Tire Company came up. My wife called them and explained our situation, they said bring your car right in and we will work on it immediately. I took the short drive from Boston to Cambridge, and true to their word, when I arrived they worked on my car immediately. The guys that work at this company were awesome. They were friendly, honest, efficient, and did everything to get me back on the road with the least amount of downtime. I checked a few other places, and none of them were willing to take me without an appointment. These guys were absolutely great! If I lived close enough, I would use them for every type of automotive service they could provide. I cant thank them enough. They turned a bad situation into a pleasure, not that having a nail in your tire before you drive 320 miles is a pleasure, but they made it as painless as possible. I was a 5 hour drive from home when my car started making a horrible noise. Rick got me in right away and thankfully it was only a heat shield. They fixed it right away and I was on my way. Amazing customer service and I highly recommend them!!!

I keep coming back here, because they are honest, fair and highly competent. They easily solved the problem of my slowly leaky tire (rust on the inside of the wheel well), fixed my brakes last minute (staying late on a Saturday and replacing the caliper again for free when it turned out to have a tiny fault a few weeks later), and are now fixing my air conditioning. Each time they have been up front about the problem and flexible about my timing to repair it. Plus, its a family owned business and they have always been friendly and welcoming.

This is my local tire repair place. Theyre always quick and dont seem to overcharge. I came in recently with a your problem and it turns out I hit a profile and the tire had to be put on. No appointment but 30 minutes later I was done.

Friendly, fast and reasonably priced on my first-time recent visit to remove a nail in one tire and have them all rotated. They lived up to their fine reputation. Ive worked nearby, too, throughout the cybertech/biotech transform of the Kendall area and I view them as sort of a venerable pillar in the neighborhood worthy of respect. (I was not there to buy tires or to get a more complicated repair, so I have no basis to rate those.)

Ive been going to Rick at Advanced Tire for years. I started to take my company cars there when I worked in Cambridge and always found them to be friendly, accommodating and the work top notch. When I changed jobs, I still brought my cars into them and now use them to handle my personal vehicles. Rick is super, very knowledgable and will bend over backwards to help. His crew is great and know their stuff. Some reviewers think you should shop around for a better price. Ive been to the other places and have returned to Advanced because, in the long run, you get what you pay for and Advance stands the test of time with good service, quality products and the fact that they want you as a long-term customer. I guess thats why theyve been around for so long.

I got my car inspected here. It failed the first time, but the second try had no charge and it passed after I fixed the two things they required (tires and headlight). Inspection was $35. Theyre very friendly and communicate well.

However, as I was looking for advice about my steering wheel shaking at high speeds (thinking an alignment or tire balance) they took a look at my tires and said I should replace all 4 tires.I had just bought the car used, and trusted their word, but wanted to shop around for different tires than they were offering.I drove to Concord to visit my brother and had the car looked at. The Town Fair Tire in Concord told me that a tire balance, alignment, and the replacement of a single tire would suffice.I am a little bitter towards Advance Tired Company for trying to oversell me. Although my tires are all a bit worn, replacing all 4 was not necessary. It would have been nice if they gave me both options.But overall, their service was polite and friendly, they didnt push their business too much, and I enjoyed dealing with them aside from the oversell.

I would give a zero star remark if there is such option. My honda civic was found to have leaking yesterday. I checked myself. There was a sharp nail penetrating into the tire. I was expecting that it only requires fixing the leaking point. However, they refused to just fix the leaking point. They want to replace the tire directly. And they ask me to replace all of the four tires. Finally, they provide me a type with $ 90.00, where the same type list on website is only half. They charged me $ 40.00 for only a few minutes of labor. The boss and the mechanics both have very bad attitude.Anyway, its a bad place even the reviews is high. I believe the reviews are all from their friends.

I have never been to an auto care place where the staff is as warm and welcoming as the ones at Advance are. They are always very professional and I have been extremely satisfied with the service they have provided.

I suffered a flat early morning from a rental which I was told the tire pressure sensor was malfunctioning: they popped and Enterprise never sent road side assistance! These guys sold me two new tires! Still waiting to be reimbursed!

Great group of guys. My wheels were stolen and they came out to my car with extra tires so I could drive it to their shop.
