Took forever to get our taxes done we ended up having to go in there and do our taxes pretty much our self, they still charged us $500, we are now in June and I still have not received my tax documents, was told to come in at a specific time called on the day of to verify the time and was told I had one hour to get there or no one would be there. Absolutely at my wits end with this place and I would not recommend them to anyone, I will not be going back!

I filled my taxes 2017 and 2018with Liberty tax in Elon near Hwy 55. I own my own company and filing my taxes was something that became more and more of a headache for not only me but for Liberty . A lady that no longer works there did my 2017 and it all turned out perfectly fine. I went back to do my 2018 taxes and it all came crumbling down later on in 2019. My wife and I wemt to buy a house and noticed line 32A on our taxes said we had an $8,000 loss. Prevented our approval for a home. We knew immediately something was wrong. We went to liberty tax and they werent yet open until later in the year. As time went on we were finally able to reach them about an amendment. We went through my taxes once again. . . and let me tell you.. no one in there did anything. I had to do it all myself. I litterally had to go through all of the numbers while the lady behind the desk keyed in everything. The exact same way she did when we originally filed. And I had to pay $450 bucks.. what a joke. Anyway... it came out that my I had a 1000 doller loss instead of an 8k. which is a huge difference in my return. even though we still cannot purchase a home for a little while longer. No biggie. I was told she would transfer everything over and once she did I would habe to come in as to refile it cost $75 dollers. A week goes by... I called to check on the status of our return and I was informed the owner Jim said that he advised not to do the return because it would raise some red flags. I responded with this... Its not Jims decision as I am obligated to have my taxes ammeded and done the right way as that is my right. Jim doesnt have a say so. I have all of my paper work, contracts, receipts.. I have nothing to hide if there so happened to be an audit ( red flag) whatever it maybe. Her ( reply).. your right Jon. I will start on it now and gave it done by Monday. Tuesday comea around and I have heard nothing. I make a call to liberty tax again. Jim answers says he had no idea about the amendment. That he would get back with me. ( VERY FRUSTRATED ) at that point. I reviece a voice mail the following day from Jim and he says this.. we are not going to do the amendment that I can come pick my taxes stuff up and take it somewhere else and see if they will do it. Well Jim.. no one will touch our taxes because you are a personal contactor of some sort. Like a franchise and once you guys at your liberty tax office touch our stuff.. no one else will. Thanks for screwing me.Anyhow... I do NOT recommend Liberty Tax in Elon. We will be going to Raleigh to the IRS office to see what can be done about this. Jim and his team were stand up people. Although Liberty Tax is a national corporation, Jim made a personal effort to make me feel welcome, to make sure my needs were met, and to make sure I was happy with my experience at his location.As long as Jims in charge, I would highly recommend this Liberty Tax location and will absolutely be returning here to file my taxes for years to come.
