Its always difficult to connect with someone on the phone. When you dont have transportation this is a pain. I called before 11 am and it is going on 12:00 pm and I still havent spoken to anyone. Someone will pick uo and then put the call back in the queue. The phone will ring for a little bit and then back to the classical music. What is hilarious is that on another phone I called 211 and received the information that I needed. NJ Department of Human Services need to investigate this agency.

I had an issue with bccap and was told to turn all of my information in for the homeless prevention program. So when I did and told them my court date, I was told to go and get the proof of judgement and I would be helped. Well the day I received paperwork from court I called to let them know when I needed to be out and what my next step was, I was told that it was too late to help me. Now myself and my two children had to leave our home after I was also told not to make a payment arrangement or bccap would not help me.

I put in an application in December 2018 for energy assistance. The BCCAP Rep went through my application page by page, stamped every page and said I will receive an update by mail. I received mail within 30 days saying my application is being reviewed and a determination can take up to 90 days. Its now April 25, 2019. I have received an email and a shut off notice saying my account is seriously delinquent. I call BCCAP to find out the status of my application. Vincent BCCAP Rep says I was over limit for a 2 family household. I say Im not a 2 family household I have a family of four. He looks further puts me on hold and then says I will try to push your application to my supervisor. I explain my husband has been out of work for over a year and was unemployed at the time the application was submitted. I also explain we have a shut off pending. Vincent says come in with the shut off and a copy of your drivers license for emergency help. I leave work to submit this documentation and I am met at the door with a line of people. I politely ask Vincent can I drop off my documents and leave to go back to work he says no you have to stay and fill out the emergency application. I say I am the only person working and I need to get back to work. He says sorry we are open 9am to 3pm. Then he says we are also waiting for an affidavit from your husband explaining his unemployment status. I ask why we werent told this in December? And, actually we have received zero communication since the app was filed? Vincent is speechless and dumb founded, again only reciting the office hours. So now we including my 20 month old, and 4 year old sons are risking no electric because of their error in handling my paperwork! This is unacceptable. You dont make people loose income and make -up stories of denial to make your agency look like they were doing their job when people need help. The system is broken. This is the 3rd time I was referred to BCCAP and have received ZERO help. This agency is pointless and unprofessional and does not exist to help the community. Im very angry and saddened once again from this organization. I gave 1 star because I had to. BCCAP deserves no stars!

My experience at BCCAP when applying for Home Energy Assistance was a good experience. The staff was courteous and eventhough they were adamant about staying within state guidelines, it was clear that the main goal was to get me the assistance I was in need of. The True/Page program proved to be the best solution and fit for my profile.

People their are nice. They really dont help with anything except energy assistance. I went there for help with homeless prevention and I still havent heard from them. I need a 3 bedroom house section 8 approved. Whats the purpose of these so called programs when you dont owe rent? Most of us that need help gets picked over. I even explained that theres a NTN report thats inaccurate but the realtors homeowners are going by this like its the Holy Bible. We have to pay for it, everything was wrong. And it states that the information isnt all correct in small letters on the second page. But as soon as you open it, it states in red Letters DENY APPLICANT! I had all the information gathered beforehand and it still wasnt enough; my real credit report real life information. I am still going thru the process of helplessness. MAYBE THEY WILL HELP YOU BUT IM STILL WAITING!!!

I need immediate assistance, and cant seem to recieve any type of help.Im posting this on a site like this, hoping to have someone give a call to point me in the right direction. So far,Im barely surviving the amount you have to pay to live weekly / daily in hotels on 130,so due to blessing ...I sleep at a truck stop.in the lobby.I came here from florida, and got a job..but when it went temporary...things changed for me.Pretty much, take it from there. ive had small advice on where to go,but food pantries do work....anyway,i trust in god..and ive been keeping afloat for the most part with food.but, its getting cold, and i need to find a place, and stay close to where i can work.any suggestions?

I dont understand why this place offers homeless prevention. I have my application in there for over a month and no one will call me back . They tell me I have an assigned case worker and I told them I have been leaving her voicemails for over a month and even if she couldnt help me at the time she should call back and tell me instead of ignoring me. The place my family and I stay at is only for a little bit because they have their own life and own things to worry about. I explain my situation to the worker who answers the phone and they give me automated responses like a robot. I pray these people never experience hardships and get treated and turned away like my family has. I am very sick with serious health problems and the stress I am going through is making me sicker. These people dont care about a damn soul who walks thru that door because when they punch out at 4, they go home to a house and have everything they need and dont care if anyone is going to be homeless. I wish they had a no star button. I would of pushed that one as many times as I was aloud.

I applied for energy assistance 09/21/2016. 01/ 20/ 2017 I received a letter saying they needed more information from me. I am a senior citizen living on SS and have kept my heat at 60 degrees because I had not heard from where I applied. Why wait over 120 days to say more information was needed from me?
