Best gym in Burlington! HUGE facility, nice pool and hot tub, and the Personal Trainers are top-notch! They always have a great selection of drinks (pre-workout, revovery, etc) and a wide variety of supplements.

Regular ugly people like me just dont fit in. But I worked harder than anyone. Got to have your ipods in just right and look like a magazine model. Then you want get kicked out and canceled like I did.

Glad they were are to reopen, has a sauna and swimming pool on top of all the standard equipment. Ive been told they will be returning to a 24 hour schedule soon. Friendly staff, clean environment, and call the regulars are good people, very supportive.

Nice place to workout. Quiet and friendly staff. The girls who work in this gym, are all the time cleaning good, they have a great variety of machines, they have girls and men sauna (separated, of course), clear pool, clean restrooms, nice prices.

Gym staff was very friendly. It had a good assortment of equipment but most of it seemed very old and the barbells near the squat/deadlift racks were worn enough to make a loud crash when lifting. Solid gym overall, but it just didnt feel worth the amount you pay with their plans for dated equipment.

This is my first gym. Im very excited. I hike and excerise regularly but they have a lap pool and hot tub and suana.update. Day 5. I love it.... nice place ppl are friendly, very helpful. Temperature check going in. Sanitizer available. Machines cleaned after every use. Very happy

Once gym regulations were lifted I was worried that golds would charge me even though I am not able to go for medical reasons. I worried that they would require me to show proof (which I could have gotten) but without a second thought they paused my membership and let me know I was welcome back once I felt comfortable returning to working out.They have many classes to offer which is worth the membership alone. My daughter loves kid care and the kid care staff is very friendly.

I dont understand how I pay almost 40 dollars a month but they dont provide free Wi-Fi

Gold’s gym has decent membership rates but has a plethora of classes to attend and various equipment to utilize from dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance machines and cardio machines. It also has an open floor plan that allows for doing body weight exercises or plyometrics.

It’s a big place, it has many exercise machines , very well distributed training areas, big pool, Turkish bath and sauna it’s really cool

Been coming here for over 3 years. Great place to work out. Lately under new ownership they havent had hvac turned on making it uncomfortably hot, now that its cooling off its not so bad. Hope its not like this next summer

This is a friendly upscale gym. The staff is professional and personable. My trainer is Steven and he works hard to understand my goals and my limitations (76 and out of shape!)His guidance has made it really comfortable for me and I am enjoying the sessions and my visits between them.

For heading back to the gym after the pandemic, all staff are working their best to keep us safe and them selves. Down fall is no basketball to play or steam room. But we fully understand.

This particular Golds Gym management team are dishonest. I used their gym and fulfilled my contract and asked the new general manager how to cancel. He gave me a process which I followed. They continued billing me. I complained to the assistant manager who told me that the previous process outlined from the general manager was incorrect. I followed his new procedure. That did not work and I have all of the email correspondence to prove it. DO NOT USE THIS GYM! They will not honor your requests to cancel service once you have fulfilled your contract and will continue billing you. If you put a stop payment they will send you to collections. There is a reason why Golds Gym have lost so many locations. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

This is the worst company in the world. Tried 5 times to do an exit interview, conveniently no one was ever there at 2pm like I was told by the check in dude, so I cancelled my cc, after 6 months they turned me in to collection. I am contacting BBB tomorrow. Crooks with abs.

I went to Golds Gym because they had an Indoor pool and regular water classes I NEEDED for no impact because I had back surgery. When I was there in October I really did not feel comfortable. The other employees were watching me take a tour. That day I was quoted $36 a month. When My Dad went in Dec. he was quoted for me and him $34 each a month. Then, they had my dad sign the contract with MY name and said it was fine they do it all the time. My dad is on medicare and he should have been charged NOTHING. When we went 3 days ago, we were quoted $38 then $49 and before we just up and walked out $29. I dont understand why joining your gym is like buying a car. We were very uncomfortable and never once felt good anytime we were there. I really only needed to use the pool. This is not acceptable. We left feeling defeated and lied to. I do not like this feeling.

Edit 8.27.19 so the new general manager is definitely taking this place to a whole new level. He personally called me to address some issues I had brought up and got them fixed immediately. I cant wait to see how much better he make the gym but already it is leaps and bounds better than it was 4 month ago. Bumping the review to a full 5 stars. Thank you!Edit 7.29.19 they got new barbells!!! Now the area is only missing 1 so huge improvement!! I think there may be someone new in charge who is taking this gym to new levels. Great improvements so far!Good gym, has everything you need. The only problem is no one knows how to put away their weights when they are done so the weight room can become a huge mess.Quick edit- apparently someone is stealing the bar bells. The free weight area is now missing 4 barbells consistently. Even more if the crossfit area takes some for classes. As I write this there are only 4 barbells in the room leaving 5 racks useless. Good news is the just bought new bumper plates...

I have been going here for a little over a year now. Felt the need to write a review after the recent change in management. You can tell the difference - everyone is friendly and willing to help. The gym itself has a very motivational atmosphere regardless of where you are in your training. Also very happy with the equipment options the gym has to offer. Occasionally you will have to wait for a machine during the peak hours, but this doesnt happen often.

Its a great place to workout. The reason I dont give it5 stars is because they are no longer 24 hours. 7am-8pm sat-sun is especially ridiculous.

They make it insanely difficult to cancel your membership. Went up there on my day off and they said they do not do cancellations between 8-5 (which is just....wow). Went back up at right at 5 and guess what? The ONLY person in the gym who you cancel with already left for the day. They did the same routine with my gym partner. Shady place. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else in Burlington.

I love the equipment Golds Gym has to offer.The monthly charges are higher than some other gyms. The ability to use free weights wins my monthly subscription every month. The gym gets crowded around 5pm or so. I usually try to go in the mornings if possible. Beats waiting around to use the equipment.

Great environment to work,but when it comes down to paying folks for work they drag along and give you run around for money they owe you,one of there so called managers messed up my time,and I had to hear 1,000,000 apologies and still havent got my money

The gym itself its fine, lots of equipment and space, however the people that work there are rude and not helpful at all.They will try to charge you for everything and when they tell you that there is no contract in the membership thats a lie. After you cancel they will keep charging you for 45 days even if you dont use the gym anymore (thats a contract). I understand that is not a problem for a lot of people but they need to let people know of this, they are super shady and your are better off going to a smaller gym where they appreciate your business and let you know of all the charges.

Not too certain of this gym. The gym is okay but the attitude of the individual associated with the gym seem....My audi q3 was sabotage in the parking lot while I was working out and no one saw anything.....

I love the gym but I dont like the service or fact that they are never on time to open! It has happened frequently where they open until 515am, 530am or even as late as 6am, and the when you call and speak with the Manager, Howard to tell him about it, he says he cannot guarantee they will always open on time because the person opening could die on the way to work. To me that is a slap in the face for the $35 I pay per month!

Positive: Great gym with everything you would want for training.Negative: Highest monthly fees in the area.**Updated review**I have been attempting to cancel my membership for over a month now because I was given false information by the sales rep on membership freeze options when I joined, I completed a termination form and was given a last bill date and last use date after which I got an email from Golds corporate advising my membership would not be canceled for over a month and a half later than the termination form stated. (Management advised cancellation was 30 days from process date which was 41 days from the date I put in the request) (per corporate it will be over 80 days) I made multiple calls to Golds requesting to speak to management being told each time to leave a message and someone would call me back, no one ever called. I will now have to stop the drafts Golds has planned through my bank and go to the gym location to speak with management since they refuse to return calls.. I strongly advise against joining this gym..

I joined Golds Gym December 2016 after under going Bariatric Surgery that November. I had no idea what I was doing but I knew I needed to start somewhere. After having family workout at Golds I figured I would start where they did and let me tell you, that now I wouldnt want to be anywhere else. From Management to supporting staff to the trainers, they are all the most hard working and dedicated group of people who truly love seeing us succeed and would do anything for us!Golds Fit has been A god send! I have lost almost 120 lbs since surgery and I wouldnt have been able to do any of it without having the coaches that I do. Ryan, Julian, Ramon, Alex, Jarred and Kristen are more than coaches, they are family! The rest of the Golds Fit family that I get to workout with is the reason I come back everyday!At the end of the day, I wouldnt want to spend all my extra time anywhere else. This place is my second home and the staff is all family! I love my gym!

I signed up with golds gym before the annual fee occurred. I noticed on my bank statement I was charged $49.00 annually fee. I called to have this issues resolved and it took them forever to refund me my money. I was promised follow up phone calls and no one called me back. I had to call back just to get an understanding about what was going on. Finally I spoke with someone and he told me my account was fixed and I wouldn’t be charged an annually fee again. Cool. Couple of months after that I was looking at my statement and was charged $49.00 again. I called and spoke with a manager and he apologized and said he would fit it. I insisted on canceling my account and to be refunded my money back to my card he said he would do so. He told me it takes 3-5 business days before my money is back on my card. The 3-5 days passed and on the 7th day I was calling to see what was the hold up. He stated he was waiting for his manager Aaron Denick to respond to the email to approve my refund. I said “ok”. Weeks passed by and I was still waiting. I called today and it still hasn’t been processed. This company or particular gym is very unprofessional I had to call multiple times to hear something about what was going on with my account. Every month the money is drawn from my account and now I’m waiting weeks to months for my refund. I think they need to handle situations better and Aaron Denick needs to be more aware of his customers that’s having issues with the way there system is set up. I DO NOT recommend anyone joining this gym due to how unprofessional they are and don’t know how to handle an issue in a timely manner nor reach back out to the customers to inform them what is going on. Very unsatisfied 😡

Love my gym and my Fitness Family!!

I stopped coming here in February of 2018, because of the Elliptical machines were in poor shape and just the gym was on a downward spiral. Came back in March of 2019 and there are some improvements. Thank you new manager and team. Overall a great gym!

I’ve talked to the GM 3 times to change my account membership from the 95$ plan to the 40$ plan in person and there seemed to always be an issue in doing so, the internet would be down and my account wasn’t loading properly. Just when I thought that my account had been changed as the GM told me he had sent an email higher up to change it since he could not seem to do it himself and said that they would take care of it come to find as the next month came I was still charged 95$ dollars even though he assured me my account would be changed to the 40$ plan.

Great details

Most of the staff members are arrogant and could care less about the individual. They are pushy and are only trying to make an extra dollar on commission. I have had good experiences with some of the staff members, like the girls upfront are always friendly and Ryan, the sales manager, has always been helpful, but SEVERAL other staff members are arrogant and unprofessional. The gym overall is okay. Decent amount of equipment and I love the Lady Golds area.

Awesome personal trainers who genuinely care about you whether you are their client or not. Always offer outstanding support and encouragement and display great morale.

I am a member of Golds Gym and I am very pleased very comfortable going there I would recommend it and refer anyone I give it a 5 Stars they dont pressure you you know you take your time when you ready for that one-on-one its up to you you can do what you want when you go in there you could work on your own or you can have a coach!!!

The worst customer Service I’ve ever delt with I’ve tried for two month sometimes taking off work for an appointment the manager never showed to I was given every excuse why we couldn’t meet so I tried calling the corporate office in tx and for over an hour of voice automated messages that leads to them hanging up I finally saw no hope and went to my bank for help they then said it’s common issues they suggested a stop payment waver two weeks later there office call me asking why my payment didn’t go threw so I left a message explaining just why when finally a man named Bryan called me back wouldn’t give me a last name or a call back or extension number but I went back and explained that I’ve tried sending in the cancellation threw mail and threw to the managers email no response or a confirmation Bryan then apologize for the inconvenience and insured me that everything would be taken care of from there on but now of course I’ve just got a call from collections wondering why I skipped on my payment and because there no call back number name or confirmation number there no proof my call even happen so I fully recommend another local guy other than the golds in BURLINGTON NC and something that doesint require a contract reading the reviews this seems to be a commond issue from a vary unprofessional gym I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM PERIOD

These folks continued a contract after I called and cancelled it. They took hundreds of dollars from me and have not made any attempt to make it right despite multiple contact efforts.

I really enjoy going to Golds Gym. However, I was taken advantage of when signing up for my membership. I was told the price of Goldsfit is $55, when in reality, it is double that, as you are billed biweekly. When I double checked with Matt, who signed me up, I said So its $30 for the enrollment fee or I can pay $25 more and get a month of Goldsfit? He said yes. Blatant lie. He also never mentioned that there is a 30 day lag between the time you cancel the Goldsfit and when you stop being billed. Again, blatantly misleading. I enjoyed using the equipment very much, but refuse to continue to give my hard earned money to a dishonest company.

New management is very friendly and the place is constantly Improving.

Taken advantage of . Im a Pastor of a Church here in alamance county. They told me one thing to get me to sign up for a corperate membership plan, for a company that i was working at the time . See i was a old rush memeber grandfathered in to Golds. Told them plainly didnt want corperate plan if couldnt get old plan back if and when i quit company. Guess what they lied and now told me i cant get old plan back why its a money scheme. Also wrote upper management sent detailed letter to them which to date they have ignored me and not returned my calls. Company suppose to be about intergrity.
