The lady on the phone first time was rude compared to other places and they couldnt come out till next day. I dont mind the time frame because I understand time of year .50deg in my house! Dropping fast. I spoke to another lady today and she was great. So was Jimmy the service tech and his assistant. Got it working. Ahhhhh.

I had a component go out on my tankless heater and Gary helped me figure out what it was, order the part and walk me through the installation. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the correct part and understood how to replace it. Without him, I’d still be taking cold showers.I 100% recommend Alpine for anyone who wants excellent service, professional help and a great costumer experience!

From start to finish, I was so impressed with this company. They got out to us quickly and their work was thorough. They relocated our furnace form the laundry room to just inside the garage. We are SO happy with the final product!

We have used Alpine Heating and Cooling for two years now to service our furnace and central air conditioning. We were told by two competitors that our A/C unit wasnt worth servicing and that replacement was the only option. Alpine was honest and willing to service our unit instead of misleading us like other companies. We appreciate the trustworthy and superior service and when it actually is time to replace our equipment, we will be calling Alpine!

Dont accept a Friday afternoon appointment. The tech showed up more than a half hour early, was fine. Spent most of his time trying to get inspection panels off the boiler to access the burners, Vacuumed the area which was clean anyway. tried to get a burner off, but didnt come off easy so left it. I read the manufactures installation and maintenance manual the day before and to properly service the boiler should remove burners and brush them with soft brush. The tech last time it was serviced did. He had trouble putting inspection panels back on which is the easiest part of the job. Took a small cap off of what I think was a place to bleed air out of the system and pushed the valve with a pen and water came out, did it several times, I think he wasnt sure what he was doing. Was there almost a half hour, the person in the office said it would take an hour +. I think being Friday afternoon and late he was in a hurry to get off work for the weekend. Several hours after he left I looked at the boiler and water was seeping from the cap he had problems with. I made a gasket to put in the cap and got the seeping water to stop. Also tightened about half of the inspection panel screws. A complete waste of money for what he did.

We were unlucky in that our ductless heat pump compressor decided to fail on us after 7 years, just as winter was coming on. We appreciated that Alpine came immediately, accurately diagnosed the problem, and in short order switched out the compressor and got us warm again. Hats off to our technician Mateo. Kudos as well to Mitsubishi for honoring our warranty even though it was lapsed by 2 months.

We used Alpine to replace the furnace in our rental property when it went out last winter and they were amazing. They responded quickly and the work was impeccable and cheaper than the other quotes that we had gotten. Andrew was our installer and he was extremely knowledgeable and polite, answering any questions that we had. We will definitely be using them for all of our future projects.

Our furnace broke down and we called the original installer who determined repair was not a practical option. The replacement cost they quoted seemed extremely high. I got 2 other quotes and one was Alpine. Gary the owner came out the next day, an extremely personably guy & assessed our requirements. All 3 companies quoted 3 different furnaces and all 3 sized the same spec furnace. One was twice the cost of Alpine, the other was half again the price of Alpine. The furnace Alpine quoted was an American Standard. I did research on American Standard and it is continually a top rated furnace both in performance and reliability. The installers, one was Garys son, were courteous, quick to get the job done and they cleaned the area better than they found it. Weve had the furnace 3 weeks and couldnt be happier.  I would recommend them and American Standard to a friend. I would. I did the research, Make it easy, go with Alpine and American Standard.

Our furnace died during the night on a Thursday. I did research on good rated HVAC technicians and stumbled across Alpine Heating. They were very quick to send out a technician to diagnose the issue but we were wanting to wait to fix the problem ensure our insurance would cover the break down. After notifying the technician of this I also included that we needed a whole list of items for insurance; photos, quotes, etc. He told me he was unable to get us this information until he was back at the office and talked to his supervisor. I called the office at 4:00 PM on a Friday and he’d still not returned to the office. The receptionist was very kind but told me if he didn’t return in time we wouldn’t hear from him until Monday but ensured we should be hearing shortly. We went the entire weekend with no heat and cold rainy weather outside. It is now Tuesday and I still have yet to hear anything back from Alpine Heating. We went with Washington Energy who treated our matter seriously and expedited our need for heat.Besides the fact the technician seemed educated enough I’d had an off feeling about him. Not to mention my credit card wasn’t run until Tuesday which means my information was floating somewhere unknown.Although Alpine Heating was quick to respond, they failed miserably with the follow through. We will not recommend or use them for any future services. Also.. trust your gut people!

Ive dealt with a variety of HVAC companies in the Skagit Valley, and in my opinion, Alpine Heating is by far the best. My latest experience was when my boiler, installed by a different local company, developed a problem. No one I talked to at the installation company was of any help, and the first appointment for someone to take a look was many weeks away. With the temperatures dropping, I couldnt wait for weeks and risk having no heat. In desperation, I called the manufacturer, and they highly recommended Alpine Heating. They said the technicians there had taken special courses and knew the product well. I called Alpine, and from the initial call, everything went great. Gary, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Hes really great at explaining things and coming up with solutions. I felt I was getting the kind of high quality, friendly, personal service that people seldom get anymore. Ive decided to leave my longtime heating company and switch to Alpine. I should have done it long ago.

Service was fast and got a same day service call on a Friday. Would be 5 stars but the mark up on parts is a lot excessive. Paid $420 for a universal control part that run between $90 - $120.

After getting 3 bids, Alpine was the choice to install our new furnace, and at the same time, while they were at it, an AC and tankless water heater. They won on price, and Garys experience building my confidence in reliable quality equipment. If you want to understand Garys experience and how he evaluates each job, read the items in the About Us on their website. My experience confirms whats written there. I found my HVAC company and recommend them for yours.

Alpine Heating and Cooling has been my go to HVAC company the last several years for both installation and maintenance of my residential systems. I have been thoroughly satisfied with all aspects of their work. Their prices are fair, they have been very responsive when I needed something quickly, their technicians have been uniformly competent as well as personable. The owner, Gary Kirkendall, has been unfailingly excellent to work with. I have no reason to look for another HVAC company and I give them my sincere recommendation.

Alpine provided us Outstanding Service!I first tried to go with another local company who did nothing more that give me the run-a-round. They made statements that they never carried through on, after several weeks (5) they still never produced an estimate. Guess they didnt want or need my money. So, I called Alpine and from the phone call to the initial interview, to the estimate, and final job completion, Alpines owner, staff, and professional installers (Jimmy & Gary) did an outstanding job. They carried through on every comment and statement they made. Wife and I are completely satisfied.I didnt have to write this, but felt you should know if you are looking for a professional company who is/are true to their word, Alpine is the one!

I’m pleased to write an endorsing review for Skagit County HVAC dealer Alpine Heating and Cooling.Recently my wife and I decided to replace our thirty year old furnace and upgrade our house to a “home comfort system” that included a furnace, air conditioning, whole home air purification system, and state of the art thermostat.I’m a college educated professional and, for over forty years have subscribed to Consumer Reports Magazine and have come to rely on it to help me with just about all major purchase decisions. I pride myself in doing a ton of research before committing my hard earned money. Among many other things, my research taught me that the absolute finest HVAC equipment made is American Standard and/or Trane. Interestestingly Trane makes American Standard. Carrier is next on the list then Lennox and York gets the worst customer satisfaction and has the highest repair issues (sorry Handy’s Heating).Originally, I was going to buy Lennox equipment because Costco was running a “special”. However, after meeting with the Costco/Lennox dealer (Baron) and subsequently meeting with Gary from Alpine, it was apparent to me that I wasn’t getting equipment recommended to me that was inappropriate. Quite the contrary, Gary did not receommend the top of the line for everything though he could have and may well have been able to sell a higher profit margin package to me. Instead, he explained why getting a larger air conditioner or a modulating furnace would, in a sense, be overkill.I found Gary easy to work and negotiate with. His senior installer, whose name escapes me right now, has been with him for years and did a very professional installation.Gary also took the time to inspect our crawl space which houses our ducting, for leaks in the ducting and he recommended insulation for us as well.I put a lot of thought into this purchase decision and I would not consider any HVAC equipment other than American Standard (AS) or Trane. Gary is forturnate to be an AS dealer and I think he realizes it.If you want the best HVAC equipment for your home or business and you reside in Skagit County then you simply must buy AS equipment and you must use Alpine for the job.Gary will make sure you’re fully satisfied. He’s not a “do the job and forget you” type of contractor. If you want the best, buy American Standard. If you don’t care about having the best quality then spend your money elsewhere; it’s really that simple.Rob GrossmanAnacortes, Washinngton
