Today I brought my 2012 Porsche 911 to The Garage. I have to say I had one of the best experiences at a mechanic shop ever. The shop itself was spotless and very well organised and the service was amazing. In the morning, I mentioned to Howard all the small things I wanted to get checked on the car, including an oil change, a window switch replacement and just a general inspection. Everything was done as asked, all parts were replaced the same day and I got a full breakdown explaining everything that was discovered in a separate email (which I totally appreciate). The price was very fair (and definitely better than at Porsche). The work was done spotlessly and now they definitely have another happy life long customer. Alex was amazing. She was on top of it! - when I explained the problem of the steering wheel shaking she knew right away it was most likely the front brakes. The Nissan dealer was wrong !! They told me it was the front suspension causing the shaking. They were wrong , The Garage was right. They fixed it same day, and the cost was reasonable. I highly recommend !

I have a 2014 Ford Escape. I guess that generation of Escapes are notorious for having windshield wiper problems like blown fuses, wiper motors kaput, wipers coming on randomly, and other electrical problems. My wipers would come on randomly then turn off. This cycle would continue a half dozen of more times. Then no problem for several weeks. However, eventually the lever on the steering column became inoperable. With rains coming, I took it to The Garage in Burlingame. It was a fairly complicated issue. Battery corrosion had leaked onto an electrical component under the battery. The average guy or gal could not even get to the module to replace it. I was over matched. The folks at The Garage got it fixed as promised... it was expensive* but Im convinced a dealership would charge more. The only person I had contact with was Howard at the front desk... he was always there. Personable and professional. He called to keep me apprised of what was happening, and when I told him that I didnt need my car for a long weekend, Howard offered to store my Escape inside until I arrived on Monday to pick it up. Yes, I would recommend The Garage.* OK... totally unrelated to The Garage. Why are car parts that rely on any amount of tech always so blanking expensive? You can get a new phone or laptop for what the manufacturer charges for some parts just because the part has a switch or relay that is comparable in design and function to the ON/OFF switch on a portable radio. Ridiculous.

I spoke with Howard who gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone for engine service on my X5 diesel.Before Howards team began work, he reconfirmed that I really needed the service which I really appreciated. I had a great experience with The Garage after my oil filter housing started dripping oil while I drove from L.A. to Millbrae. Now my car is a Toyota Corolla and has a little over 205,000 miles on it so I thought it was done for when it started knocking and making progressively louder noises while shifting into higher gears from a stop. I was fortunate enough to be able to tow in my car and they were able to run diagnostics and find the problem (broken oil filter housing cap & oil sensor that leaked out all my oil). They had me come in that morning and they were done with the repair and oil refill by mid afternoon. They were speedy, professional, comprehensive, and saved me a lot of money with their repair. ~$500 is much cheaper than totaling my car and buying a new one. I will be coming back to get some more maintenance work done next week because of how good this experience was.

I needed an alignment and Howard squeezed me in right away, I appreciated that. Good work on the alignment though there was still a little leaning which I was advised that it was due to warn down suspension (bushings). So I will have to fix that latter, otherwise the overall service was great!

I needed an oil change and tire rotation. Howard was extremely friendly and professional on the phone while I made an appointment as well as when I was waiting for the service to be done. Refered by CarMax, brought in the car for 70,000 mile service and a rattling noice while driving, as well as an estimate for a scratch. They kept the car for 3 1/2 hours, just did an oil change and charged me $100 without giving any estimate for a repair or body work. The car sounds worse than it did before, very disappointing experience.

Stopped by THE GARAGEs new Burlingame location (based on a friends recommendation of their San Francisco location) for a major service on my Lexus.I dropped off the car, got a call from Howard within a few hours and told me my car was done. Fast! Im used to having to leave my car for 2-3 days for the same type of service at other places.What really got me was that when he called, he had told me that there were a number of things that the car would need in the near future. These are the exact same items that other shops have told that would lead to catastrophic failure if I didnt have them fixed immediately.Howard took the time to explain to me that though these items are needed soon, and that not fixing them right away would not put me or my familys safety in jeopardy. He told me it wouldnt be a big deal if I dealt with these issue 4-6 months down the line.THATs what Im looking for. An honest mechanic that wont try to upsell me everything under the sun, that keeps me informed, and is efficient!Definitely returning and referring.
