We are absolutely thrilled with our wedding video in the entire experience we had with John and solace weddings. Our wedding video was beyond what we had hoped for! It was so amazing to share with family members who were not able to attend our wedding. I would highly recommend hiring solace weddings to capture your special day!

Solace Weddings did a fabulous job with our wedding video, it was beyond what we had hoped for! It was so amazing to share with family members who were not able to attend our wedding because of health issues, they felt as if they were there with us! I will always cherish the video that they produced for us, and I HIGHLY recommend hiring Solace Weddings to capture your special day!

Complete sham. Videographer showed up to shoot our wedding on November 18th, 2017. Delivery was promised in one month. February rolled around and the email support team told me the video was done but the cinematographer was out sick, so they couldnt upload it for me. Its now mid May, and they dont respond via email or phone. Complete scam.My wife was absolutely crushed when I told her it turned out to be a scam. Dont do business with them. Ill be contacting the authorities to see what I can do to get him shut down so no one else gets scammed. If you are the photographer that filmed my wedding, please contact me. I just want the footage, even if it is just the raw files. Ill even pay you some extra for it since I know this wasnt your doing!

I’m beginning to feel like solace weddings is just a fraud, I wrote a review earlier this year due to my outrage of the services they provided, not only did they show up an hour LATE to my wedding ( the ceremony was to begin promptly at 4:00 pm but had to be held off until 5pm) but they also did poorly at staying in contact And responding to my emails. John also tried to say their cinematographer was late because they did not receive the time, lies I have emails to prove the ceremony began at 4. They sent me an email threatening to take legal action because In my original review I complained how it had been 4 months since the wedding (October 2017) and I still had not received anything, and the contract I signed stated that I would receive the video no later than January. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took down my review, it has now been 3 months past the day stated on the contract. I have left multiple emails and calls, no response yet. I am a college student and I work part time, $1,200 may not be a lot for some people but I worked hard to earn that money because I wanted to remember my wedding for years to come. I am saddened and disappointed in my decision to go with solace weddings, I regret not letting my friend who’s taking cinematography classes film my wedding because I know for a fact my wedding film would not be being held hostage.

This is a scam!! My husband and I basically fell into his trap but luckily were able to get our money back by reporting this as a fraud. The videos that are shot by “John” are not by him, he simply hires cheap freelance videographers that do not create the cinematic video that he promises. (Go read one of the poor videographer he “hired” in one of the earlier reviews) He will respond quickly initially to get you to pay and once the deposit is in his hands, he doesn’t care about you at all. Also from our intense research about his “company” we found out he had a few companies following the same template and packages, scamming people in a few states. We have talked to couples that have experienced the same. Do not hire!! The five stars are fake!!

Solace Weddings owner John Clark aka Jesse John Francis Clark is a scam-artist and a TOTAL FRAUD! He will take your money and then NO-SHOW for wedding. He has been convicted of fraud in several states under similar names and other business fronts. Do your research - he has been ordered to pay over $500K restitution to couples he has scammed!!! Despicable human being!!!!!

Do not go for this Videographer! Ive read many reviews that this is a scam and most did not show up, for us, we had someone showed up but we did not get our video until more than 3 months after (AND THE EDITING AS HORRIBLE, THE VIDEO WAS BAD!), and we had to beg for that to be provided to us.They also did not fulfill everything that is in the contract and did not give us the raw video despite me following up multiple times - they just dont respond. The contract says there is an IG video, raw video, drone video -- all of these are not fulfilled. The employees who work/respond to emails are good and fast at replying before the wedding and then becomes rude and unresponsive after the wedding when you are following up for the video.Do not waste your money and be fooled by this company! Look for someone else!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. As others have reported, they are a total scam and you will not get anything worthwhile in terms of video footage. Their communication is awful, phone numbers on their website are all disconnected and rarely does anyone respond via email after your wedding date.We were told we would receive our video within a month of our wedding which was October 2018 and began emailing after the second month of no correspondence. We were told we would receive it asap and waited for another month and finally received a link to our highlight video. This video had no editing done at all, it was the ENTIRE ceremony, the ENTIRE toasts, the ENTIRE first dances and NOOOOOO reception at all. I emailed a number of times and left messages as what I wanted was mostly the party, the reception, people having a blast. Unfortunately, after many phone calls and emails and someone finally responding, they refused to add anything to the video. There were also a ton of interviews that the videographer took of my friends and family wishing us well and NONE of these were included. I asked about these and the guy said the audio did not work and so they could not be included? What the hell. How could a videographer not have the audio on??? Unbelievable.I am so pissed and lost 1,000 on this terrible company and now will not ever get to see these incredible memories of that very special day. I am going to also report them on BBB as well. They need to get what they deserve.DO NOT BOOK THEM.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We had MAJOR issues with this videographer - DO NOT HIRE HIM! I would not want him to ruin your wedding like he did mine. First, he told me he would be filming our wedding, but 2 days before my wedding someone else called me saying she would be filming my wedding (John didnt even call me himself). Second, he told me he would be using 2 cameras to film my wedding (that was important to me) - only one was used. Third, the videographer MISSED THE FIRST LOOK. She was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Fourth, the videographer DID NOT CAPTURE THE GARTER TOSS, so we unfortunately do not have that on film (her battery died). Last, we tried to ask for at least half of our money back from John after our wedding (being reasonable, not even asking for our full money back), and HE DENIED. He didnt even apologize for all of the listed mistakes, or offer anything to make it up. Trust me, do NOT hire him!

John Clark, the CEO of the company contact me by craigslist and contract me as a videographer to film a wedding on 12/21/2017 for 6 hours for 300$ (50$ per hour). I shot the wedding and uploaded all the footage to their dropbox. Then when I asked for my payment he said that he is reviewing my footage, then that he was going on surgery, then no more emails, have been passed 2 months and 2 weeks. Yesterday I asked for my payment on Facebook Page and they deleted my comment and blocked me. No phone answers, their office is a lease address and it is closed. I have copy of all emails and proves of everything, Also, I want to prevent other videographers and brides to get scammed by these people.

A huge and frustrating disappointment. I really regret using them despite the low price. Heres the short version:1) Correspondence with owner John Clark was curt, even rude. Many questions were just never answered. It gave me anxiety to have to write him as I dreaded his condescending responses, or worse yet, lack of response which made me wonder if he was still planning to film as I hadnt heard from him for two weeks before the wedding. Multiple emails and phone calls were finally met with the short answer that he had been sick. This response was finally received the DAY BEFORE the wedding. More dread. This is not the way someone should feel while preparing for a wedding.2) Someone should not feel the way we felt watching the final edited film, after we spent five-plus hours downloading programs to try to convert it to viewable footage. Requests to even get a tip from Solace about how to convert into a watchable format were never answered. The contract said it would be smart TV compatible, it was not. Once we finally converted it on our own, it was NOT only not as requested, but not even what was promised in the contract. The grooms name was misspelled! Twice! There wasnt any drone footage of the venue despite confirmation that an earlier start time was necessary to take drone footage. There was not any footage of dancing, despite careful calculations on my behalf to both allow for (never provided) drone footage as well as dancing footage during the reception (also never provided). After multiple inquiries about dancing footage, John replied that the film had met the 45 minute maximum length. This was based on his editing decision to include strange opening footage of a flying over a city that looked nothing like the venue to replace drone footage and terrible slow panning of the dress hanging in a bag. Who edits a wedding video and does not include dancing? He said if we wanted to see it, we could buy the raw footage for an extra $200. It also did not include promised instagram highlight. No response on that either.3) The videographer (not John, but some subcontracted person) was not dressed as though he was attending a wedding (scrub-like pants and casual winter jacket in summer) and used a tripod for everything, which showed in the unartistic final edit. In addition to the rude/absent correspondence from John, the film was sent late, over 60 business days after the event, which was the maximum time outlined in the contract. Quite the contradiction for a company who seems to have gone after a client for breach of contract per previous yelp review.Save yourself the heartache and stress and spend the money to capture your day professionality.

Update: DO NOT TRUST POSITIVE REVIEWS OF THIS COMPANY. If you copy and paste many of their positive reviews into Google, many of these reviews are blatantly copied from reviews of byDesign Films. Solace seems to have just shamelessly changed the company name/etc. in reviews from other companies (the matching reviews for byDesign Films have an earlier post date than the Solace ones).Summary: We hired Solace to shoot video for our wedding in Aug 2017. They failed to uphold their contract - it took It took 63 business days - almost 3 months! to get the video to us, they lost the formal dance footage, and in my opinion, Solace Weddings and John Clark were an enormous hassle to deal with and were not worth their (admittedly below-average) fee.(1) In an email on July 31, 2017, John told me I film everything unless otherwise notified. Someone else filmed our wedding. My wife and I are not aware of any notification that someone else would be filming. Solace offered no apology.(2) From what I saw, each clip transitions with a simple fade, and the video just cuts off at the end, with no conclusion.(3) Johns emails responses were often brief, which means he sometimes failed to respond to parts of my emails. Sometimes I would have to repeatedly ask him for very simple information. For example, I had to email him multiple times to ask whether the video would be mailed in a box or an envelope. He only responded to the first email (from Nov 7, 2017) after I sent a second email almost 20 hours later, on Nov 8, and he only answered my question about the packaging after I emailed him a third time on Nov 8. In these emails I also asked for tracking information on the package that he claimed was on the way, but John and Solace never shared the tracking information with me.(4) On Sep 27, John emailed me that We should be getting this out with in the next couple of weeks. I will let you know as soon as it does leave the office. I gave some time to work, and almost a month later, on Oct 23, he said Yes it’s all set to go it will be shipping out this Friday with her next batch of shipments. Two weeks later, after the package still did not arrive, I followed up again, and on Nov 6th, he replied It was shipped out on Friday. You should see it within the next couple of business days.(5) I eventually learned the tracking because it was printed on the package when it arrived on Nov 10 (63 business days after the wedding). Based on the tracking information, pre-shipment information was sent to USPS on Nov 7, almost 3 months after the wedding, and not by Oct 27 or Nov 3 as it seems to me that John claimed above. I understand wedding season is busy, but I feel that a company should at least be honest and informed.(6) When I emailed John, I would often cc my wife, and John would often just reply to me. Im not sure why he would exclude my wife from his replies, especially since she the contract was in her name.(7) Worst of all, our video was completely missing footage of our first dances (father daughter, mother son, bride groom), which I am almost certain that the videographer filmed. I remember that the videographer shook my hand to tell me he was leaving since his time was up, and I remember that this occurred after the first dances. John and Solace offered no apology, and ignored my multiple emails over the last few weeks trying to locate this footage.(8) Our contract clearly indicates that the video delivery should be no longer than 60 business days from the Client’s wedding date. Since our video did not arrive until 63 business days after the wedding, I emailed John on Nov 10 when the package arrived, and he offered no response or apology.[Conclusion] I am very regretful that we trusted Solace with our wedding day. I would prefer to have never worked with Solace or John Clark.
