Staff at the front desk were SUPER friendly and helpful. Room was great. King with love seat. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Hotel is ight across the street from the Canalside area along the Buffalo river. Great place to walk, take in the Sunset, or hop on the metro. Go roller skating across the street! Catch a minor league ball game next door, or a NHL Sabers battle 2 blocks away. Walk to downtown and take a look at the amazing old buildings and great revitalization underway in downtown Buffalo!

My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard Buffalo Downtown/Canalside because of a recommendation from a friend. It was the ideal location for our stay. We were 30 minutes from Niagara Falls and 30 minutes from South Wales for a wedding we were attending. We visited Buffalo at the end of July and the area itself did not seem overly busy. The hotel had onsite parking that was accessible only as a hotel guest. Parking was uncovered. There are also a handful of restaurants within 10-15 minutes walking distance if you feel comfortable walking. We also found the stadium for the Toronto Blue Jays just a quick walk up the street if you in town for a game.Check-in and check-out were efficient and smooth, the staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. The lobby has a coffee bar, but we didnt stop by since a Tim Hortons was just outside the hotel. There are also other beverages available for purchase - water, soda, etc. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We reserved a king room, and we were pleasantly surprised to also have a sofa, refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom was also spacious with good sized shower with Paul Mitchell products. There wasnt much of a view due to a large amount of construction. If you need to commute, it looked like a local train (or Amtrak) made stops through town just outside our hotel.

Good stay! Nice modern rooms. Friendly service. The shower was a dream! Amazing! It was huge and the water pressure was amazing! They also supply Paul Mitchell products in the bathroom which is fantastic Love Paul Mitchell. Its $10 for parking but no undercover parking available. And also parking is not secured. But other than that, everything was good.

Adjacent to all the outdoor activities at Canalside, the Bisons field, and the Sabres arena. Perfect for walking around downtown or taking the Metrorail down Main Street. Nice, clean rooms. Helpful staff. Convenient, onsite parking. The restaurant wasnt open, but the morning breakfast bar run by Starbucks was. Theres a Tim Hortons across the street, and other food options within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay. Oh yes, its pet friendly, too, but please dont leave your dog unattended all day in your room while you visit Niagara Falls. Good thing the staff were able to move us to another room.

The hotel is modern and clean. Staff is very nice. I booked a night on Feb. 19 for just me and my 10 yr old daughter to celebrate her birthday. So we planned on staying in our room for the night. We were put in a room with a large structural column in the middle. I called the front desk and asked if we could be moved. Was told they were booked and we could not be moved. I asked the woman at checkout if I could get a discount on the room b/c I don’t think I should have to pay the same rate as those with no column right in the middle of the room. She said she would make a note for the manager and they would get back to me. I have never heard anything. Nor did I receive an email asking me to rate my experience. I sought this site out. Disappointed:(

We looked into 5 hotels before going there and the one that my family and I felt the most comfortable was Courtyard by Marriott in Buffalo, NY. Filthy; Difficult parking, room keys are, as the GM put it finicky and only work for certain doors, the nice/decent view I requested yesterday morning is....construction/parking lots/some buildings back there. After half hour+ waiting(only one in line) I get to the elevator. Great, fine I just want to sleep after a long drive. Rooms not clean.....waiting longer so I can get a new one I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anybody. Oh and all this was $138....got a new room. Pulled blanket and sheet up to nose to nap, what is that old sex or dirty feet smell? Not sure. Oh well I am the only guy working up front

Wish I could have stayed longer. GM went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had the best eats. The weekend we were there, unbeknownst to my family and staff, was a Trump boat rally. Our reason for staying at the hotel was to enjoy being within walking distance to canal side and to kayak. We couldnt kayak because of the rally. Boaters were drunk and being reckless. The kayaking company had to close until the rally was over due to the waterfront not bringing safe. Buffalo/Canalside always gives out permits to shady events that put the public in harms way. Concerts and the Big Ship Events are only two examples. Look up those reviews if you you think coming to canal side on a weekend is a good idea. I thought, because of COVID restrictions, we would be safe since all events were supposed to be canceled. The things my child heard and saw are a shame. My advice is to check with the city of Buffalo before making plans to go anywhere near canalside.

Took a trip to Niagara Falls and decided as beautiful as Niagara was it wasnt the most ideal place for our family of 4 to stay, so we decided on staying in Buffalo since wed be passing by on our way home (OUR BEST DECISION THE WHOLE TRIP). Our only complaint was finding the Hotel since there is some construction going on that made the roads look confusing. The staff was great, Hotel was very clean and following social distancing/COVID-19 rules and regulations, the room and bathroom itself was very updated and quiet spacious (we last minute booked a double queen). The pool, gym and other amenities the offered there were still open under reservation. And on the bonus side, the hotel is not only a walk away from the water, but also across the street from a Tim Hortons which came in handy after a long day of driving and sight-seeing. 100% would recommend and would stay again! Just and FYI: there is a small accidental fee required to put down in case there is any damage to the room that will be refunded back to you as long as everything is good, there is also a $10/night parking fee behind the hotel for guests to park in (which is kind of necessary because there is no on street parking from what we saw), and there is also some construction surrounding the area which didnt bother our stay at all but it did take away from the curb appeal a little (Im sure once its done the area will look much more finished, but youre definitely still very close town which is absolutely gorgeous). And if youre looking for someone close but amazing/unique to eat, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Swan Street Diner located in Larkinsville which is another very cute area less than 10 minutes away from your stay.

Clean, new hotel very close to Key Bank Centre, excellent for Canadian visitors attending hockey games in Buffalo. Modern rooms, comfortable amenities. The only problem for this Canadian visiting Buffalo was getting over the border- 80 min. wait to come to the US over the Peace Bridge. Going the opposite way, under Canadian customs the wait was only 5 minutes. What can be done about that? If I was a Buffalo hotel or business Id be putting pressure on border authorities to make the crossing quick and easy so we can spend our money in Buffalo!

I had a very bad experience staying here. I chose this place after reading online reviews.Travelling with my infant for work in COVID times is stressful in itself, just made worse by the hotel experience.I booked via the BonVoy app and made specific requests for my room including extra towels and providing a pack n play for baby to sleep in. I think these could be easily fulfilled but I was provided with none of these. When I informed them that I don’t have pack n play in room, I was provided with a packed one which I had no idea nor the energy to understand how to fix it and I was left to deal with it myself when it should have been set already. The lady at the Bistro was extremely rude.My baby made a mess on the sheets and I asked them if they can change it later in the afternoon but I was told that I will have to request it tomorrow morning again. When I called the following morning to request house keeping, the man at the front desk was extremely rude and wanted me to tell him that when will I go out of the room so they can clean it. If that is the case, I can go out in 30 min and they can clean it. He said he will call back with confirmation , no call back after 1 hour and when I called to ask again, he just abruptly said the lady cannot be upstairs in the next 2 hours.I am a physician and I understand that COVID times are tough and there have been changes in the policy but this should not be an excuse to treat your guests in a bad way.Staying at this place feels like being trapped and I will never choose this again for stay in future.

The hotel itself was very good. The disappointment was the location. Major construction going on directly outside the hotel, dirty and dusty, not pedestrian friendly. Only good if attending a nearby stadium/arena event. The train stop is very close to hotel. Found Canalside during the day not to be worth the time to visit, not sure about the evening. Several people have described the train as a trolley. It is not, it is the subway that is above ground for five stops through downtown. Expect panhandlers, etc. as you wait at any of the downtown stops.

We had a wonderful stay at the Canalside Marriott this past weekend. The hotel was clean, large rooms, friendly staff. We only ordered coffee but there was breakfast and light dinner fare available at a small counter in the lobby. Very close to an event at Templeton Landing. Fun bar/restaurant called 716 right next door. We did not use the pool but it looked nice and clean. I have been an elite member for many years and have stayed at other Courtyard Marriotts that were not nearly this nice. The only downside I would say is the mandatory valet. I can understand some larger, busier cities having this but I feel like in Buffalo you should either have the option to self-park or if you have a mandatory valet it should be less expensive. $18/day for valet is a lot for the Buffalo region.

The location is perfect as the hotel is 1000 feet from I-190/I-90 access as well as close to Niagara Falls and bridge to Canada if desired. and the Metro is right outside the hotel.

We have previous stayed at the sister Marriot Harborside right next to this hotel. We thought wed give the Marriott Courtyard a try as the rates were much better and the proximity to Canalside and lake was the same. We were glad we did! Staff were extremely courteous, professional and overall pleasant. The facility was clean and well kept. The room was very comfortable and quiet. USB plugs near the bed and TV made it easy to plug and charge phones, laptops and other gadgets. Walk-in shower with large water fall shower head made showering pleasurable. Location and distance to Canalside, Marina Park and downtown makes this hotel the best choice for family and leisure.

This hotel is perfect for arena or harbor center events. The valet parking makes it easy (and is very reasonable). The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was well designed and felt spacious. A mini fridge is always useful so we were glad to have it. The bed was so comfortable we overslept. But the best part of this room was the shower - huge space and good water pressure made for a great wake up.

The location for staying over and attending Sabres games is great. Rate is more reasonable than other hotels. Hotel is bright and contemporary. Love itWish they had a Keurig coffeemaker in the room instead of those silly small coffee makers.

Blue Hill NYC is always excellent. The food is interesting and delicious. (I have never been impressed by a squash before.) The service is world-class from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. The wine selection is great; the drinks are too.

My fiancè & I stayed in the King Riverview Suite on Valentines Day. All of our planned activities were within walking distance so valet parking was convenient. The Bistro has amazing flatbreads & breakfast was also great. The view from the Riverview room was stunning & it wrapped around the entire room. The room was clean, comfortable & inviting. I have lived in Buffalo my entire life & Im proud to see the city come back. Thanks Marriott!

We stayed overnight. We were there for the Bob Seger concert. The valet parking was great. We waited a bit to get in and signage was unclear where to line up. The pool was fantastic. The room was clean and we had a nice view. The food offerings were minimal, expensive, and the hours too short. For breakfast it is a Starbucks.
