I called them knowing I was asking about something they didnt do (I had a question related to powerboat instruction), so I was already imposing on them. Capt. Bill took my call and gave me a thoughtful answer, when he was within his rights to say, Sorry, we dont do that, and rush me off the phone if he chose to.Anyway I thought a good Google Review was the least I could do. Thanks again!

My charter experience was very disappointing.First of all, the boat was quite small and unclean. I was told I four people could be brought on the charter, but I was glad it was just my girlfriend and me. Another two people would have been too cramped, and I honestly I would have been embarrassed to have brought more on.Second, the captain brought his girlfriend along with him on the charter. I originally signed up for the charter as a 1 year anniversary experience with my girlfriend, but it turned out being an awkward double date. We couldnt really move about the boat, because the sail was almost at head level while we were sitting .Our captain was nice enough to talk to, but the whole experience came off as very amateurish. It felt like we were just on some guys boat rather than a charter from a company we paid good money for (300 including tip). This experience hasnt turned us off sailing, but we will definitely look elsewhere if we want to do this again.

Seven Seas Sailing was great to work with- very friendly and accommodating people! We had to cancel our private ride because of the weather and they were very understanding!

A truly memorable and now life long experience. For about a decade I wanted to learn to sail but always told myself that is would be too difficult or two expensive a hobby to attempt. After a friend completed sail school with Seven Seas I was surprised to hear how affordable it was to learn to sail ($350 with a guarantee to graduate!). My fiance, a friend and I decided were going to learn to sail the summer of 2016. We are now all Captains and feel more more confident in our skills every year. After graduation there is an option to rent the boats for the season ($650 per registered captain.) In our case of 3 people (we picked one captain to register) this makes rental of a sail boat less than $250 a person for the season! If you want to learn to sail and continue to sail this is the most affordable option in Buffalo. I would and I have recommend this sailing school/ club to my friends.A note for those interested, the club house does look well loved in a margaritavilleesk style, but this allows the classroom sessions to be held on the water. The boats are donated and older but this makes them perfect for learning. I would not want to learn on a $400k yacht as you will bump into things and make plenty of mistakes. The captains will not allow you to graduate until they feel you can safely handle the boat by yourself. The boats are in the water from early/mid May until mid/late October, 6 Months!

I have been part of Seven Seas for 3 years and I’m quite happy. Having Lake Erie vast areas to enjoy, I made a decision to certify myself through US Sailing at Seven Seas and was pleased with the captain instructors who always focused on safety and proper technique. Learning started with smaller boats and in groups and it is up to the student to step up the game and make the most of every class. I now sail the school bigger boats by myself with my wife and enjoy that greatly. Volunteering at the school is also a great opportunity down the road if you want to get more involved in the community. There is always something to do. This is not your Florida Yacht Club but well... we are in Buffalo... and there are still months of sailing to enjoy. And the Lake sunset is priceless!!! Capt. Bill and his crew of captains are ready to support those getting into the sport and enjoy it.

I have been in and around Seven Seas Sailing Center and its Captains and Crew for more years than I can remember. They are a friendly, a hard working, and skilled group of sailors. They set sail to a community of well trained sailors, sailors worth their salt!

The staff here at the Seven Seas Sailing Center really made me feel very comfortable with their sailing knowledge and moreover gave an experience that my crew will never forget. Out on the water the staff are very friendly and they make you feel at home on their boat. I 100% recommend and already wish I could rewind my time with them. Thank you!

My husband and I highly recommend the Sunset Cruise. Yesterday was the second time we did this cruise. This is a Christmas Present from our son for the last two Christmass and we will definitely suggest it again for this Christmas too. Yesterdays cruise was with Captain Tom. We had a wonderful time. He was very entertaining and a wonderful Captain. Cant wait for next year.

I have been sailing at Seven Seas for several years since I took lessons there. The instructors were great. Rental availability during to day is great and motor quality and reliability have improved. Rental availability on evenings and weekends can be a challenge and you may need to plan more in advance. Additional boats in the fleet would help. I found the season pass and online booking a great advantage. I have also made some wonderful friends sailing at Seven Seas.

Ive always wanted to learn how to sail but never had the time. The guys down at Seven Seas, especially Captain Bill, really made every single accommodation for me and let me make my own schedule. The guys are really friendly, very experienced, and give safety very high priority. Now Im confident to sail by myself.

Great place to learn to sail...they are there for you till youre confident in your skills. We became season pass holders, and enjoy our time out on the lake. The boats arent fancy, but just what my wife and I can handle comfortably on our own. Cant wait for the new season to start.

Captain Bill was very accommodating and arranged for Captain Tom to take us out for a lovely afternoon sail. The sailboat was comfortable for our group of four and despite the challenge of cool weather, we enjoyed our tour of Buffalo harbor. Captain Tom was charming and knowledgeable. He knew a lot of information about the area and even knew where to wait for us to witness the Fireboat Cotter to run through it’s evening routine. Thank you for a fun tour for my out-of-town guests!

Great bunch of sailors. Learning is at your own pace, no pressure. You can even go back for a refresher, if you feel that you need it, at no charge.Boats arent the latest and flashiest, but they dont grumble when you hit rocks, ground them and bump them into the dock.

The Seven Seas staff opened the door to an amazing new chapter in our lives. We worked hard to become certified to sail in 6 weeks and the staff honored and supported our goals. We sailed on Seven Seas boats over 30 times our 1st summer with them. Theres much too learn and the captains are eager to teach. We were transformed into sailors at Seven Seas.

Ive enjoyed 3 years of sailing on Lake Erie that I consider priceless. I never imagined how much I was missing out on until I found out about Seven Seas! I cant wait to get out this Summer and feel the wind glide me along past the Lighthouse and the windmills. The Buffalo Skyline has never been seen until you view it from the deck of a Seven Seas Sailboat. They have a great selection of Boats and they do everything to keep them safe and reliable. They also have an interesting staff of Coast Guard certified Captains to teach anyone how to master the art of Sailing. For those who already are proficient, it is such a bargain to be a season pass holder, why would anyone buy a boat with all the expense associated.

Ive had a great experience with Seven Seas. I took lessons from them at the end of last season and loved their take as many as you need until youre ready approach to learning. The staff is super friendly and is willing to answer all your questions, you just need to ask them! Since then Ive participated in the boat rental program and yes, while the boats are not the fanciest of yachts on the water , they are sturdy and the rental costs are CHEAP, making the sport of sailing super accessible for lots of budgets.

Fabulous group of experienced instructors, who help you learn all that you need to know to skipper a boat on your own. After that, you can join the club and use their boats to sail on your own - an absolute bargain compared to buying and maintaining your own boat. All the fun and none of the headaches!

The charters are a great way to see Buffalo from its good side. The skippers do a great job of pointing out the sites and filling in the back story. I also get a kick out of the Shanty Shack back at the dock. Very refreshing!

Our Seven Seas instructors were without a doubt the best! We came from Toronto and found the school without a problem. Very affordable, great Lake Erie location. Good social group-we made many new friends to learn, experience, and practice sailing with. Sandra and Joe McKenna, Toronto, Canada

Bill still owes me 900 dollars for lessons I bought for my wife, brother, and myself after he agreed to refund me, following the most terrible experience Ive ever had on the water. This was better than 4 years ago, no less. The experience goes as such: There was no shore school as advertised, learn on the water, captain said. As we headed to the lake, the captain couldnt untangle the half unfurled jib sail for the entire trip. It wagged there the entire trip as if to warn us of what was to come. We almost ran aground. We ran out of gas. Then we found gas down below. The captain poured half the gas in the river as he tried to fill the tank. Then the recoil broke before we could start the motor. We were dead in the water but were finally towed back. I dont want any more lessons on what NOT to do. Cant I just have my money back? I spent 900 dollars and all I got was this lousy experience.

Underwhelming at best. As others have stated, difficult to get scheduled. The boat/equipment is poorly maintained and not well-kept. We were originally booked for 4 people and they booked another group with 6 people in their party - never told us this was a possibility - never stated the capacity of the boat. The boat did not have the capacity for this many people unless you sat down inside the cabin (who goes on a sail to sit down below and see nothing, particularly in a cluttered, dirty cabin?). Two of the 8 on board had to sit up on the roof of the cabin just to give everyone some room to sit.Their captain was a great guy, but the coordination and communication between the office staff and the captain did not seem complete.I would not recommend these folks to anyone. We were just looking forward to it being over from the time we got on board.

Also purchased a Groupon. Booked sailing for 4 people, drove from Canada and waiting on the pier to only get a TEXT MESSAGE cancelling 20 minutes before we were to leave. We tried to call but of course they ignored the call. Several messages were exchanged but it was clear they did not care that we had traveled and were waiting...We will be contacting Groupon for a refund! And we will post reviews to avoid this happening to others!BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!!! We purchased 3 Groupons (3 different people) and the place simply was NEVER available to schedule then. They do not answer their phone and the mail box is ALWAYS full. I went to the marina on 3 occassions and they were also not there (but the boats were) We were unable to schedule the sails. They sold the Groupons, (and other deals) as a way to raise money but then did not honor them.
