I hired their company to snow plow my driveway. It would snow and days would go by and no one ever showed. I would call, no response. They billed me and I wrote back saying you cannot bill for a service you did not do. I finally resorted to sending an email saying, I do not want your service. I will not pay to do my own driveway. I received a call from a woman who worked there and she wanted payment. Told her I placed many calls, wrote messages on their statements saying they were fired and followed up with an email. They sent me to collection, wanting money for zero work on their part. I sent the collection agency a copy of my email saying I fired them. I have not heard anything since. Terrible service, a neighbor kid would do a better job for a lot less money and would be reliable. Funny, seems a number of people all say the same thing.

Last nights Blizzard is exactly why I use the services of Peter Doran. They have their crews out as soon as the storms end. I had the shoveling crew at 1am. I was still awake for Christmas stuff. The plows came also early morning. When I woke up this morning I got to enjoy my morning coffee watching my neighbours shovel and plow. Peter Dorans crew was my Christmas Blessing this year

We’ve used this company for 2 seasons now. While the prices are decent— the snow removal itself is subpar at best. The drivers usually run though the driveway once or twice which leaves a considerable amount of snow. This combined with the fact that they usually come fairly late after the snow fall has left us with a dangerously icy driveway the past two seasons. Not happy about the service and the constant micromanagement that needs to be done. And even with the constant emails— the issue is very rarely resolved.

Peter Dorn is a ghost when it comes to service. DO NOT go with his company. We have had at least three snowfalls this year and he hasnt showed up to plow AT ALL. But, was eager to get a sign in out yard to advertise

I requested all spring service in spring. They did half the work and sent me an invoice. I emailed them multiple times, but they were very slow on responding. If youre busy say youre busy. Dont commit to something if you cant fulfill. Theyre not professional. Its a waste of time to deal with them.

Very unprofessional practices of running a business.My husband called 3 YEARS AGO requesting leaf clean up service, only to be told you were backed up and didnt know if or when you could get to us. We go on vacation, and come back to a clean yard. No phone call, No set appointment, nothing. Then we get a late notice in the mail for payment for services we didnt even know we were scheduled to receive! Then, the following year, your guys JUST SHOW UP. We never requested any service because of the poor way you handled business the year before. My husband told them to leave and to take our information out of your system. Last year, someone at least called as asked, to which we refused AGAIN and asked AGAIN to be removed. And now TODAY, Someone again JUST SHOWS UP AND STARTS WORKING. No appointment was made, no phone call, no request on our part. And AGAIN we told them to leave our property. We are assuming they were with you because they did not have the company name anywhere on their equipment, clothes or vehicle.PLEASE REMOVE OUR INFORMATION AND DO NOT COME BACK TO OUR PROPERTY UNIVITED EVER AGAIN. I hope this will be the last time we need to make this clear.

DO NOT HIRE! For fall cleanup if was a lot more than other companies we have hired and they damaged the grass blanket the city put down. When I contacted them about it, they only fixed one area that they damaged. They were also supposed to clean our gutters. They never showed up and never returned my multiple calls and emails I left. To top it off, they charged me for a service they never did! Terrible!!!

From the start, 2 years ago, I have had issues every month!!Heres a brief run down.Billing was always wrong! I was charged for services I never requested during this summer, they scalped my lawn, I sent pictures to prove it. They left my gate open and my dog got out!!They didnt even know till I called!They didnt use the weed trimmer or blower each time, which was part of my package I pay for. I know, because I was home and witnessed this.My bill was not the same amount, even though I was quoted for a Bronze package price. Different bill amount almost every month.The big snow last April? My driveway was not touched until Monday at noon. I had to shovel just to get to work! Not what their contract states!They dont answer their phones or get back to me for a status.Their blades on the mower did not cut a nice clean cut. It always looked matted down.I have never encountered such a disorganized, unreliable, unresponsive company in my life!Never, ever go with them!

2/12/2019Service did not show up again today. It is the second time I have to shovel a huge pile to get in and out of my house. DO NIT SIGN UP for this. You will regret this deeply. They just take your money. Service is horrible. I will continue updating this as needed to alert other consumers. If it was possible to give this service ZERO as a rating, I would.I have a seasonal snow removal contact. I call every single time it snows, and the service does not show up. The company showed up here just one so far this year. The last time I called, they told me I had to wait 12HRS, and still did not show up. I am very disappointed, and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this. Unfortunately, this is just a headache.I just wanted to add the update that I have called this business, and they still did not show up. This is truly unbelievable.

Do NOT hire this service. They do not show up for snow removal, nor landscape service nor return phone calls. They also promised organic and sprayed chemicals despite instructions not to destroying 25+ years of organic established yard.

Great service. First year using them. We have the 2” trigger snow plow amount and they’ve been out within 4 hours of the end of every snowfall plowing us out. We have a complicated driveway too and our plow operator is wonderful and does a great job.

These guys continue to solve a major problem for my small condo association in South Minneapolis. The price and quality of service for shoveling public and private sidewalks, fire exits and parking lot are exceptional. Peter Doran has directly involved himself if any unique request or deviation from the agreed to scope and has the problem solved often within 24 hours. I absolutely recommend this snow removal service.

[Edit on 2/23/18] After spending 2 hours outside just now to shovel a path to push my daughters car out of the driveway so she could make it to classes, I decided to update my review and reduce it to 1 star.Its been more than 10 hours since the snow stopped, and with more than 8 inches of accumulation, still nobody is here, has been here at all or appears to be coming based on my unanswered call. Really disappointing.Previous comments: This is my 3rd year with Peter Doran as plow service. I was hoping after previous years of calls every single time it snowed they would have worked out the kinks. The good: they do come each time. If you call and complain enough they will send someone back out in the next couple of days to do it again. If you live on a busy street as I do (France Avenue) they will take your service where many other companies will not. The not so good: They come extremely late, so if you need to get out for work in a 5-8 hour span, forget it. They wait until it stops snowing so they only have to come once. Each time they only pushed the snow down the driveway and did not do any of the stalls (I pay for 6 spots).I am so tired of calling that evening or next day to ask them to come back and do what I paid premium for them to do.The last 3 times (including last night) I have shoveled myself and by the time they come back (sometimes 2 days later) it’s no longer needed.So there you have it. I’m going to buy a snow blower today as I don’t expect anything will change at this point.It’s been an expensiveexperience.

Be warned. They are good at billing, not so good at showing up to perform services. This used to be a great company 5 years ago. Today, they just plain show up 1 in 5 times to remove snow paid for under contract. They have no way to contact them outside of Monday thru Friday so if it snows on a weekend too bad.

If you need timely snow removal, hire someone else. They dont send out the crews until the last snowflake falls...meaning if youre counting on their service to be able to get to work/school, forget about it!

Worst lawn care ever. The guy shows up with a lawn mower that goes 100 mph. He doesn’t slow down on the corners and rips up the grass. I have many dirt spots in my yard now. Had to beg to get them to spray for weeds. I’ve never seen them fertilize even though I have paid for it. Thy don’t answer the phone. I cornerd the mower and he admitted that customer service isn’t their strong suit. I have never received a call from peter to make it right. I asked a weed sprayer about it the other day and he told me to email him, which I did. I should be able to get a call if that’s what I want. I fired them and will get someone else. Don’t use them!!! Google won’t let me give them 0 stars so I had to put 1

We were first time Peter Doran Lawn Care customers this past summer - wow were we impressed. They performed a very complete fertilizing service, were timely, and our grass was healthy all summer long. Peter Dorans customer service is exceptional as well - extremely responsive. I recommend their service to any one looking for a competitively priced, outstanding lawn care team!

So far had nothing but rude employees mowe the neighbors lawn. They seem to think its OK to just blow debris everywhere. This has caused cosmetic damage to our vehicles in the driveway. Today we were outside discussing some landscaping and the man doing yard work decided to blow the debris to the point we couldnt breath. His reasoning behind this was he was convinced that he was being talked about. He started to swear and get hostile and police were called. This kind of behavior from a professional is highly inappropriate and as far as Im concerned should never happen. Extremely discussed by the lack of emotional control from a grown man , this is child behavior.

Highly recommended by everybody Ive talked to with firsthand knowledge about this company. Thats very rare and speaks for itself.

I recently had a fall clean up. The price for the man hours doubled over last year. However there were no changes in my yard. I feel I was over charged. I called the office and basically was just told it is what it is. I sent an email asking the owner to contact me and no response either

Have had them doing my snow removal the last couple years. I have a city lot with a public sidewalk and a front walk. Such a relief to come home late or get home early and not have to deal with snow!

Never used them, But I am a service plumber I drive a ford transit and the thing blows in winter conditions. One of their guys i never caught his name caught me stuck in some womans driveway trying to get out. It wasnt gonna hapoen for me luckily The guy came down and plowed me out. Saved the day! It was greatly appreciated! And just for that i will use this company in the future for any landscaping needs and will reccomend them to others as well. Awesome people like this are tough to come by these days. Thanks a ton for the help!

Awful service! Gate left open, flowers chopped down while mowing, never blow the grass off sidewalk or driveway, missed a mowing and still charged, ran over gutters, blew out the gutters and didnt really clean them, so I had to have someone else come out and do it at my cost. I have called three times and no call back, each time arlette says the owner will get back to me. I paid in full for the year, BIG mistake. Please be aware of this company!!!!

DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!! The city of Minnetonka referenced Peter Doran to us for snow plowing services. We were nervous because we saw the poor ratings Peter Doran has received from their customers but decided to sign-up for the seasonal plowing because the city recommended them. Unfortunately, we have learned quickly that their service is really terrible. We prepaid for seasonal service. They happily take your money but perform a very low quality service. They have never showed up to plow until we finally get tired of waiting and call to complain, then they show up. The drivers are not skilled or trained appropriately. Very poor service. They leave behind large piles of snow scattered throughout the driveway. Today 1/28/2019 they did not show up to plow until we complained (AGAIN). The driver is not skilled, rather than plow the drive way using his truck plow he is hand shoveling – terrible on many levels! The guy truly has no idea what he is doing! I took pictures if anyone wants to see them.Our last plowing service who we had for 12 years did a quality plow and it took him only 10 minutes with 4” snow fall and they did the front patio and side walk too. They also ran a quick plow in front of our street mailbox. Very Nice! Unfortunately they were a family ran business that the elder owner decided to retire this year … we were so sad to learn but completely understood.Peter Doran pricing model is obviously geared towards making money and not geared towards good fair customer service. With the seasonal options you pay a lot but little is covered, much is extra costs. Extra costs to plow after the city comes through, Extra costs to put up guide sticks, Extra costs to shovel small side walk (3X5 feet), Extra costs to shovel front porch, Extra costs to do anything that requires the driver to get out of his truck which includes removing snow from the front of the garage. And they wait to the very last minute to plow because they want to be sure they only have to plow once. Really Terrible! NOT customer service oriented!We wanted a one-stop-shop where we can get quality landscaping, regular lawn work, and snow plowing and were hopeful Peter Doran was the right company because the City recommended them.We are now asking for our seasonal money back and of course we learned their refund polices are to the benefit of the company and NOT fair to the customer. We are looking for another service company which is risky this late in the season. We will be notifying the city of our experience with Peter Doran and the their poor service.We recommend that Peter Doran stand in the shoes of his customers and take a look from their viewpoint, would he want this kind of terrible service! I think NOT!We do not recommend Peter Doran! Hire another company!

I have used Peter Doran Lawn Services for several years now and am completely happy with their services. They are friendly and respectful. They do the little things that make their service outstanding.

Peter Doran was excellent with their follow up. I called them the day of a snowfall, they gave me a quote over the phone and came later that day and dug me out. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

Largely, we are very pleased with the end result. Again, Mike really nailed what we were looking for in the design and you were able to bring it life for us.

I hope that if you are considering Peter Doran Lawn that my experience saves your from much frustration and disappointment. This company is a total scam. We paid them for the entire season (near $700) and they have come only twice, though we have had many, many snowfalls over 2. They do not answer your calls and its as if they have disappeared. I really hope this business is not allowed to take advantage of any more customers. They are absolutely terrible.

They came out and sprayed their chemicals all over our new deck and stained it and ruined it. I cant believe they wouldnt cover up peoples items before spraying their chemicals all over them. Ive tried to get it out and it wont come out of the wood. Ive left a message and hope they plan on paying for the damage. The black splatters on the deck arent dirt, they are chemical stains. It is around the entire top and side.

The service was absolutely horrible I contacted themBefore Thanksgiving about the snow we with the entire weekend without the snow being remove ice everywhere they found it did come over after about the fifth call once again it did the same as acting this weekend their service is horrible I would not refer them to anyone during the summer time the grass grow so wild they are not responsible I would never use them again

DO NOT HIRE this company for snow removal. I have been trapped five times this winter alone (2013-2014). They say they have 12 hours after snowfall stops to plow your driveway. This means you will be stuck at home with no way to get to work if a large amount of snow stops falling at any point in the night and wont be able to get into your driveway if it stops during the day. If you call after hours to complain or check on arrival time, no one will call you back.
