Made multiple reservations through hertz.com and third party travel agencies, and none were honored. Was told repeatedly during the day there are no cars, and they do not guarantee same day reservation or do not hold previous reservations for more than an hour. Spent entire day on phone calls. I drove up specifically to confirm at the end of the day when my reservation was to see if they had any cars in my class and they had two cars right there! Terrible experience, waste of time and energy. Rented from Enterprise next door and that was flawless! Even Enterprise said they are not sure why this Hertz location was telling everyone they are out of cars as Hertz had plenty on their lot!

I was in a car accident a couple of weeks ago. I called Hertz to inquire about getting a rental and an hour later they were in my driveway with a car. Thats what I call service!I just got word that my vehicle has been repaired and is ready for PU. I called Hertz to ask if they could help get me to the collision center after I return their rental and they told me to just leave the keys with the collision center so I didnt have to worry about trying to coordinate everything and that theyd PU the rental from there.Im a Customer Experience Manager by profession and Hertz wowd me with their service. Hertz - your Brooklyn Center team has been a pleasure to do businesses with. Way to be a standout in a business that is usually a headache to work with. Youve gained a loyal customer for life. 👏 👏

Rented here multiple occasions. Every time the vehicles are dirty inside and out. Every car Reeks with the scent of smoked weed and or cigarettes. It shouldn’t be my liability to have the car searched for drugs if I was to get pulled over. Save yourself the hassle and rent from a more professional location.

Horrible experience even for their five star members. The app was down and I thought I would go in and they would honor my gold rewards discount. They were no help and didn’t even try to accommodate me in anyway.I tried getting clarification on charges from a previous rental and they instantly got defensive. I won’t be returning to this location . If you can help it go to another or skip hertz completely.Worst experience ever. Walked out without renting a car

I had the displeasure of renting from this location a 2020 Ford Explorer. Rented and drove off only to notice damage on the vehicle. I called location and they stated the damage was already notated.Fast forward 2 1/2 months later and I’m being charged $3500 from a 3rd part company called Viking Services. No notice , no call from Hertz.This particular location is really disgusting. I blame myself for not trusting my instincts as everything about the physical appearance screams run away.I will never rent from Hertz company again.

This place has the worst customer service. Every time I called, they answered the phone unprofessionally just saying a very simple “hello” with no mention of the business name or their name as if it was their personal phone. They also seemed to not know how to answer questions. Had a $26 charge on my card because I was misinformed by a representative who told me I’d be charged for not returning the rental with a full tank when I asked if I needed to return the car on full if I opted for the fuel purchase option. Because of this, I returned the car with a full tank and was still charged so they got free gas out of me and still got their fuel charge charge from me. Customer service wasn’t able to help me and said this was a valid charge despite me being given incorrect information by one of their representatives and refused to refund me. Will never be renting from this location or likely any Hertz location ever again. This has been the worst experience with a rental company and can’t believe a company isn’t willing to refund an incorrect $26 charge to make a customer happy and would rather lose a customer over $26....what a joke.

Ill be hard pressed to rent from Hertz again after my recent experience, especially at this location. Car was well under par and in need of engine maintenance with very worn tires, plus had a bad return experience. Never again. This is the first time Ive ever complained about any car rental company to be honest. Im a Hertz Gold Rewards Member and Im 49 years old - been renting cars for 25+ years so not my first rodeo. The one positive is that the woman that took me out to the car upon pickup was very friendly and nice.

This was so simple! It was a busy day because it was Friday, however, it still went smooth and quick. This was my first time renting a vehicle, and it will not be my last. Both employees I encountered, were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. I am most certainly going to be renting a vehicle from here again. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks guys!

I needed a rental through insurance for a 5 day car repair. When I spoke to the representative on the phone and scheduled my rental pickup, the guy on the line was new and gave me all misinformation (I actually ended up calling back the next day to make sure my info was correct which it wasnt).So three weeks go by and I am supposed to pick up my rental, the guy at the counter kept me there for 20 minutes before allowing me to leave with the rental (printer issues) and I was in such a hurry to get downtown that I just got in the rental and left as I was already late for my appointment. Later that evening, I decided to call the Brooklyn Center location and ask for a different car because mine smelt like cigarettes and there was another persons trash stuffed under my seat. My schedule was extremely tight so I asked if they would be able to bring another rental to my location and switch it out, and the guy answered promptly to my complaint and told me he would be able to the following day. Before I could give him my information to get a hold of me the next day, he hung up.I called the next day to see what the plan would be for swapping out the vehicle, and spoke to a different male on the phone than the day before. I explained the situation to this guy, and he told me I had spoken to the manager and he was on break so he would take my info and the manager would call me back afterwards. So I gave him my info, then never heard anything from him.I then called again the NEXT day and had no answer. I let the weekend go by, and called again on Monday to coordinate my drop off, to which no one answered my 3 calls (all at different times during the day!). I decided to call a different location to see if I could coordinate a pickup for the rental since my car was done in the shop, and the other location was super friendly and helpful, I STILL have not heard anything from the Brooklyn Center location.I HIGHLY recommend not going to this location and making the longer trip to a better location (Coon Rapids was by far better!).

I called the national hertz number and they said I could upgrade because of my alleged presidents circle status. the driver who picked me up (Orville) was awesome but that was where awesome ended. they told me they didnt have any upgrades available then wanted to upcharge me for an upgrade (so they did have a vehicle but just didnt want to upgrade me). Total customer service fail. go to enterprise or anywhere else.

If you are looking for a good car rental place, this is not it. Stay away from them by all means necessary. Very poor customer service, and greedy. I had a reservation with them, called talked to one person, was put on hold for a long time and then someone else came on the phone. Called them back in half an hour, and no one was answering the phone. Do not rent from them, especially during the super bowl weekend as you will be disappointed. If you are looking for good customer service, and fair prices...Budget Downtown Minneapolis is the place to go, not Hertz Brooklyn Center!

Due to an insurance claim, I received a rental car from Hertz, which I then had to wait until I was picked up at the auto repair shop to be driven to the Hertz location in Brooklyn Center. This took much longer than expected. The gas tank wasnt full, yet I filled it all the way up. A few days later I received a charge due to dropping of the car not filled up. The Hertz location could not help me with this matter because I did not keep the receipt, so I had to call the 1-800 number, wait another 15 minutes until I finally had a customer service rep on the phone to clear this mess. overall, I had to spend way to much time for something that should have been an issue in the first place.

Despite having a reservation, I had to wait for an hour and a half. If it were the other way around (my rental car return being late by such amount of time), this location would have charged an expensive late fee.It was despicable to see an employee there saying she wont charge me for the late pick up; of course she shouldnt because it wasnt my fault at all it didnt have my rental ready on time.

Terrible. I made a reservation and went to get the car and after taking all of my information the guy says he wants to run my credit! I told him I am renting not buying (so strange). Of course I dont want my credit ran, I am in the process of looking for a car to buy. Anyway, I ended up going back to trusted Enterprise. I only tried out Hertz because I found a good deal online. Also the man was rude when I refused and took my service elsewhere.

I went through this Hertz location for when I was getting my car repaired. They have great customer service! My car was at Auto Haus Collision, which is about 5 miles away from Hertz. They picked me up from the car repair when I dropped my car off. At the Hertz location the manager was the one assisting me, I believe his name is Hussain (I hope thats right). It was extremely busy there with about 5 customers and non-stop phone calls. He was very attentive and good at juggling all of that. One lady that was there was incredibly rude to him, and he handled the situation well. Even though it was really busy he took the time to explain the optional rental car insurance, and what services private insurances usually cover for rental cars. When returning my rental car, they were again very helpful with the ride situation. I would definitely recommend this location. The price was reasonable and they have good service.

The car I rented while it was clean , was vacuumedIt had some weird funk smell, I HAD to put in a freshener to be able to drive it. The exterior was very dirty as was all the glass. The employees were pleasant enough.

WORST PLACE EVER!!! I had stopped into their office to confirm my reservation a week before. On the day I was supposed to receive my rental, the never showed to pick me up. When I called, they said my reservation wasnt in their computer, AND I would have had to go with their Hopkins location considering where I had to be picked up. I specifically asked when I confirmed and they said it was within their pick up range. Save urself the headache and go to Enterprise! I called them and got a vehicle within 20 minutes!

I had the worst experience of customer service that I have ever had in my life with the place. They called me yesterday because my insurance company sent them my reservation . I set up an appointment to be picked up at 9 ( the man also kept saying he would have a van available for me , i told him i wanted a midsize vehicle he said that he will have one available for me). They never came and when I called to ask about getting picked up I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, i then hung up. I called a Lyft to bring me to the location . When I got to the location and told the women I was never picked up she just said I dont know what happened. She then said that she had had a van ready for me. I told her that I told the man that I didnt want a van. She then got an attitude. She said they might have a vehicle in the back but it will need to be cleaned, i asked how long that would take , she then responded with a attitude.. I told her I will try enterprise next door. Then when my insurance company called to see what was going on she was told that I had an attitude because I was never picked up. Im most definitely contact the district supervisor .

Avoid this place like the plague! They told me they reserved the I chose online and their front desk confirmed for me. After few dayd when I arrived to pick up the car, I was told by a woman there that my car is not ready, it was dirty and they sent it to clean it and change the oil. Come back after 1 hour I was not happy about that. When I returned after one hour, I the woman there told me We have a different car for you... which was smaller for a family of 4. When I asked where is the car I reserved? I was told again its not ready...Also, to my surprise they charged us $100 more than what they had quoted us the week before when I reserved the car! Totally unprofessional - and to make it worse, they were unapologetic and unprofessional. I would recommend to make sure they deliver their quotes in writing - I will NEVER go back to this place.

An absolute embarrassment of an establishment. Tried many times to call to confirm a reservation but either was put on hold and hung up on or the phone was never answered. When my appointment for an 8am car delivery came up they didnt arrive. I called and they said my reservation was transferred to a different store that doesnt offer delivery. They said they had no cars available for me until 4pm that day. Ill never do business with Hertz again.

Horible! Coming from an hour away to pick up a car. We called and said that we were on our way 40 minutes before closing but we were stuck in traffic and moving really slow and we would be there as soon as we could. When we showed up at 6:05, everything was locked up and dark. What happened to good old customer service? Totally understandable if we didnt call, but we did. When I arriveto pick up my rental, the service manager took one look at me and immediately started giving me static about the rental. My boss was finalizing the details of the vehicle that she was paying for with a company card and the manager must have mentioned “fraud” to us like 5 times? Then the car wasn’t the one I reserved online and then it smelt kinda funny and then it started making a weird noise when I got to my destination!Upon returning, I needed to keep it a extra day and when I called the office to see what the process was for an extension, the lady on the phone was quite rude and unclear and impatient. I’m never going again, I’ll be using Turo or something in the future Sorry Hertz but step your service up

What a nightmare, my husbands car was in the body shop and this was the rental car we were given. Seven days later we were leaving for vacation to the Boundry Waters only to find out . his car was a total loss. Three days in to vacation they took 385.00 out of our account only to draw us at negative 57.00$. We called them to try an straighten it out, got a complete run around. We had to leave our vacation to come home and try to straighten things out. It’s been been 5 days, They also took the 224.00 out for the rental of the car, and I still have not gotten my 385.00 back. Never again. Also so very rude on the phone.

Horrible service. The car they gave me was dirty on the outside, smelly on the inside and didnt have any windshield washer fluid in it. When I returned it, they charged me for days that should have been paid for by the insurance company. The manager was unable/unwilling to fix it and left me to deal with the insurance company to get reimbursed for Hertzs mistake. I am still waiting for my money back. I will not use Hertz again.

I rented a vehicle post accident. The bill was to be sent to the insurance company of the vehicle that hit me. Repeated phone call from both me and the insurance company giving them the information on where to send the bill has thus far failed to get this resolved. The local branch isnt communicating with the billing department and the billing department wont help either. It has been several weeks and the money was taken out of my account. I have never received a bill from the local branch.

Honestly, I have never dealt with such a horrible place with horrible service. I currently have a car with insurance and cannot get any correct information from this location. I have received multiple voicemails with information that conflicts from what I have been told by the insurance company. When I try to return the call, the phone is never answered and rings continuously. I have given up with this location of course and have decided to call other locations and had their team and staff answer my questions for me and look up my rental information.There was one instance where someone did answer my call and told tme hat I was frustrating to work with because the insurance company would not pay for the rental car and that I was not authorize to get one in the first place. He started giving me an attitude and said You need to figure it out with insurance because I called them, they said they werent going to pay for it. When I called insurance immediately afterwards, they told me that was not the case and that I should proceed as is. They only needed to confirm 1 question that they had. Hrmmmm. Then a few days later, Hertz left me another voicemail saying that my rental car was terminated and needed to be returned by a certain date (while my car was not repaired yet). Well once again, I called insurance (because Hertz BC is unreachable and incompetent at their work) and they did not understand why the rental car contract was terminated and sent in a request to extend it. 5 days of continuous calling and no answers, I finally decided to call a different location to see if that request was received.My recommendation would be to avoid this **** show and to go to any other location, no matter the drive. I will also be working with a different location from now on to get my information from and to return the car.

If I could give a zero rating, I would rate below zero. Its my first time getting a car rental thru an insurance company. When I went to pick up the car, they did not go over with me that the insurance only allow a certain rate or certain types of car. I didnt know what I can or can not get so the guy there, just asked if I wanted to purchase additional damage coverage and I said no. Therefore, they gave me an economy car which the insurance didnt cover all the rate. I was only supposed to getc the lowest rate...after 3 weeks return in the car. my bank account was charged. I called the insurance and they said the reason I got charged was becuz I upgraded to a full size car..I called hertz and told them what happened and they said they cant do anything about it. They are not willing to reimburse my money back and said that I agree to the upgrade. I told the guy that they never told me that I have to pay for the extras and then he starts making these lame excuses. WILL BE MY FIRST AND MY LAST TIME HERE. NEVER GO THERE, THEIR SERVICES IS HORRIBLES.

I reserved a minivan in February to pick up and use for 11 days in June. When I arrived at the Hertz location, they had my reservation, but no minivan. They checkef around other Twon Cities Hertz locations and couldnt find a minivan. Then they told me I was out of luck. They didnt offer to arrange a minivn drim another rental agency. Went to the location wanted to use a cc for my deposit and a debit card for the rental, big fat black dude says I have to use a cc for both. Told him ok let me free up some more funds on my cc, he says ok and as Im doing so he runs my cc anyway. I complete adding money to my cc and tell him to run my card, he runs it again and says it wont let me run the card again. I asked him did he know his system would do this before he ran it the first time, he says yes. Sooooo you intentionally just messe up my purchase. Then tells me I could wait an hour to run it again. In the midst of this hes being sarcastic like he doesnt make minimum wage for this 16 hour shift. every customer ahead of me had an issue with them plus the previous bad reviews idk why I went here. Hertz is by far the worst car rental company ive ever dealt with and ive used rental car companies a lot. We got rear ended back five or six weeks ago and when we had State Farm set us up with a rental car with Hertz thats when all the problems happened. Said they had a vehicle that would pick us up from the repair shop which they did. Got back to the location and they claim its a fast process and we ended up waiting 1 hour because they said the car is being detailed because the last person who rented it smoked marijuana in it. Once we got in the car all we could smell is marijuana with the over powering smell of air freshener. The car was still dirty on the inside as well, stains on the sets, ashes on the floor and i found receipts on the back floor with other customers information on it. You made us wait 1 hour to spray air freshener? We ended up retuning it after a couple days because the smells was so over powering and the car kept shutting off at stop lights. I should have seen the red flags when we called to set it up originally they didnt one of two things, either they let the phone just ring without picking it up or they picked up and asked if we could call back or hold. The small unwelcoming lobby looked like it hadnt been vacuumed it a year and the walls were filthy. I couldnt even tell who was an employee because everyone was dressed in normal street clothes.So we ended up using Enterprise to rent the next car because after getting my vehicle back we had more work that needed to be done. We then had trouble with getting that car rented with Enterprise because Hertz still hadnt even picked last rental from the repair shop so they thought i still had the rental even tho id set up a pick up/drop off with Hertz three days before.Got my vehicle back and five weeks passed and i saw a charge on my credit card for $300. Over one months since i returned that car. I called the 1-800 for Hertz and was treated so rude i couldnt believe it. The first women just talked over me and then hung up. The second women started to do the same thing so i asked to speak to a manager and she put me on hold and set me right back thru all the automated phone systems where i ended up being placed on hold several times to only find out they charged me $300 for smoking, which is funny because we dont smoke and havent it 11 years now.So i called the actual location on Brooklyn Blvd in Brooklyn Center, MN and spoke with Kyle (he said he was a area manager) and that hes newer to this location and situation. He looked into the issue and said State Farm didnt release it until a couple days ago so thats why i was charged How are you going to charge someones card for smoking then claim it was because State Farm didnt release a check for you guys? He claims it was a mistake and that this locations been having some issues-you think!! Ive yet to see a good review for this location and cant believe a company wouldnt want to know more about why they were charging people for things six weeks later they never did. Every person i encountered with this company tried to pass my problem to the next guy and nobody was accountable, i was treated rudely and ill never rent from this company again. The who situation was handled unprofessional and now i get to wait 3-5 business days to get my money back on my account. Thanks Hertz for charging my car without my knowledge or authorization.

Was supposed to meet me at car dealership, confirmed 3 times, plus night before, dropping off my car for repairs. Did Not show at 9am..did not show at 9:15, had appointment to get too, called and asked why Not here yet, have seen Enterprise come and go with several people, but no Hertz. So sorry for the inconvenience, they said, ending up sending me an Uber driver, to come to their establishment, to get car. An hour and a half wait, messed up my 10am appointment and I am Not a happy Customer with Hertz at all.
