After looking at a picture of how I wanted my hair, I was told my appointment would take about 4-5 hours to get my desired blonde balayage - which would have been totally okay! After 2 hours, my appointment was complete with still having brown hair on top, and bright purple on the bottom. Although I was told I could come redo my hair in the next 2 weeks, there is no availability. The regional manager was in the salon at the time and assured me that after 8-10 washes, it would come out. Which leaves me wondering why I am still paying $97 - where I still tipped, for a purple hair and brown hair when it is nothing close to the blonde I asked for.My stylist was very sweet and wanted me to come in again if I was not happy - but again, there was no availability in the time frame where it would be able to be “fixed for free.”I left in tears and embarrassment with my purple hair. Very disappointed.Edit: the manager called to try to make things right. The conversation lasted over 15 minutes. Although she did say that they had a lot of availability, there was no appointments that my schedule allowed (which I am not knocking them for this).She repeatedly told me that my experience/review was “ skewed” and that if I updated my review it would be “taken down.” Up until most most recent visit, I have loved this salon and only gone to this location. After the way I was spoken to on the phone, I will not feel comfortable going to get my hair done here again.

They made me make n appointment for the next day and then the next day there is No one there. Not opened at all. So not okay. Dont schedule appointments if u r not going 2 be open. If I could have rated 0 stars I would have. Its OK great clips got my business from now on.

The worst place Ive visited. I made an appointment. arrive on time. the clerk does not even say anything or wait a little longer, nothing, after waiting more than 15 minutis I left. They do not respect the time of other people ... they simply do not care, so I recommend going to another place. here the attention to the clients and the respect does not exist.

Great place to get a quick cut while picking up a few things in Wal-Mart. Affordable prices and usually a very short wait. Professional friendly staff (Jenny is wonderful). They also sell quality products!

I have been going to SmartStyle since I moved to Brookings from the Twin Cities. Kristin is the best and she takes time to listen to your needs. She is friendly and greets everyone with a smile when you walk into the salon. The only way I will stop going there is if she were to leave or if the salon closes. Prices and services are top notch!

Well I just found out today that they dont have an actual stylist to cut hair on Tuesday or Wednesday, just a receptionist to take appointments. Highly disappointed.
