Everyone was nice and understanding. They will work with you when it comes to billing. The trainers are great and up lifting. They made lots of changes over the years. I would recommend FX Fitness to my friends and family.

It seems like it was around this time last year that FX Fitness reopened to the public after a long period of stay-at-home orders. I am writing to you today to commend you on all the hard work youve done to keep the gym open to the public in a very safe manner and in a clean environment.Having Charles and Mitchell at the front desk made me feel very comfortable seeing the example they set with the precautions, including mask wearing and the extra equipment wipe downs that went on. They are both friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the workings of FX Fitness and I appreciate them very much. Knowing they were at the front desk gave me some comfort concerning my safety. Though I have less interaction with Nadia, she also seems to be just as safety minded and friendly. Each of these individuals worked hard at helping FX Fitness stay clean and safe.Having already known how hard Ray works, I knew FX Fitness was already the cleanest it can be. I could see that extra sanitizing was added to Jays already busy work load. This attention to cleanliness and sanitation gave me a real sense of security. Hiring someone to help Jay with that busy work load was refreshing to see and showed just how serious management was about keeping the place safe. It was Jays attention to detail that assured me the gym was clean and safe.I especially commend these employees bravery in working with the public in these uncertain times. Each could have chosen the safer route of staying at home and collecting unemployment. Instead they chose to do their best despite the risks. In addition each of the aforementioned employees did their best to ensure FX Fitness would remain open to the public throughout this difficult year.Finally I want to thank you as management for keeping the gym open and running as well as possible. I know it couldnt have been easy. Thank you so much for working so hard to keep the doors open. Your leadership with the staff was more apparent than ever this year and I appreciate all youve done.

This place would revive 0/5 stars if that was an option. First off we decided to go with this gym because they had daycare. When we signed up they were “remodeling” the daycare room. That was a lie, it actually flooded. They continued to say for months it was almost finished. They never finished it, they continued to lie. Then during the pandemic when they were closed they still auto drafted a few payments. Then when I tried to cancel my membership in May they told me I had to come in to cancel it. I explained I was a nurse working the front lines and two people in my house were infected with COVID and that it would not be responsible or safe for me to come to the establishment. They continued to tell me I had to come in to cancel. Today I stopped and and talked to Hannah, oh boy was she really rude and her facial expression didn’t help. Her and the young kid behind the desk were both of their cell phones when approaching the desk, but no surprised their staff is always on their personal phones. Then she claims you can only cancel a membership with a manager. I told her I have been trying to cancel since May. Hannah in her rude voice tells me that I should have sent a letter in to cancel then. Well thanks Hannah maybe I would have if ANYONE would have informed me of that in May. Why would you need an appointment with a manager to cancel your membership, and then not have a manger staffed during the weekends. This place is a joke of an establishment. Smalls claims court will probably have to get involved and the better business bureau. It’s pathetic. This establishment a dumpster fire.

Gym is CLOSED. No pre-notifications, the gym decided to transfer everyones membership to another gym chain so we all have to go there if we want to cancel. Typical. That all said, for $20 a month, it was big, had a pool, hot tub and sauna and plenty of equipment. Granted it was all run-down, but for $20, what did you want? Goodbye FX Fitness Broadview-heights, Ill miss getting rust stains on my hands and clothes from your weights.

Awesome place to workout. My personal trainer Mark motivates me to be in the gym not only for sessions but on my own during the week too! If you have some fitness goals I recommend seeing a trainer to help you reach them!!

Ive been a member 30 years, and what is the best (for me) are the workout classes (Cheryl is the best!). Lots of variety and great instructors! In the winter I use treadmill. Covid safeguards in place, and I see members conscientious about masks, cleaning equipment, and distancing in the class room. Lets keep it up!

Don’t join this gym unless you plan on being a member for life. They make canceling near impossible. The GM is can only cancel by appointment only and she is only available from 1-4 Monday thru Friday. And it will take at least a week to get an appointment. Good luck getting a callback from this lady as she does not return calls. Had my account frozen but they unfroze without my permission. This place runs a circus not a gym. Always jumping thru hoops

I love Fx Fitness in Broadview Hts. I have been going for 2 years. I signed up for personal training so I would be sure to go. The classes are great! There is a variety of classes. The teachers are knowledgeable. Great energy! My trainer Mark is also very knowledgeable and encouraging. I am loosing fat and gaining muscle! Joe, the manager was very helpful as well. The place has excellent vibes. The best thing I did in a long time was join this gym. The yoga classes are great and helps build confidence.

I can do super easy for some custodian work at fx fitness to make it charged to hired me for last. And when its soon that i can be out, i should got a job. And i should get hard to paid, i can get more spending money than me and everybody for living here. I cant wait!!!! I really like this job better than ever.

Great classes! No other gym in the area has a cardio dance class or step classes of this quality! The building itself isnt new but the equipment works and there is plenty of it. My husband and I both have always felt very comfortable here.

Let me walk you through the day of a typical gym member that goes early before work. You’ll walk into a gym with one functional door to no one at the front desk, typically because they’re in the back room. Once you start working out you’ll realize about a dozen people there don’t believe in wearing masks or wiping down their machines. When the sun rises you can see it shimmer through the broken glass window pane that has been like that for over 2 years. You also get a good view of the nicest part of the gym that’s closed off to the paying members for “personal training” which has been used two times since April from all of the mornings I’ve been there. On a very rainy day you’ll be welcomed by the same rain dripping from the ceiling. The sauna is one of the best features of the gym when it’s open until the same mask opposers come in and want to have a conversation a foot away from you in the non ventilated wooden box. When you leave sometimes the front desk attendant is there to say goodbye, unaware that their job is in jeopardy due to another shut down because they can’t tell people to be responsible.Everything I said above is 100% accurate and not embellished from my experience, and you might say well go to another gym. The actual equipment and facilities are good, it’s management that is God awful and it’s a miracle that they are still functioning. I’ll be excited to get my free t shirt!

The building is older but well taken care of. They have everything you need including pool and track. Im always seeing cleaning being done and always have a sort of cleaner or sanitizer near by. Very happy going here!

I love this gym! Lots of machines and equipment with no waiting. Staff is super friendly and we love our personal trainer, David. Looking forward to using the pool and hot tub! Previously spent $1,000 annually for a membership at the N. Royalton Y - it was always overcrowded and you could never get in the pool because they rented it out to local swim teams. FX always has good music playing and there are TVs interspersed throughout. Perfect gym for my husband and I to finally get fit and healthy with no aggravation!

Dont waste your time or money with this place. They are constantly understaffed which results in a lack of cleanliness. There is routinely no lifeguard on duty in the pool area. There is no courtesy encouraged in the entirety of the gym, so customers routinely leave equipment without wiping it clean, the locker rooms are dirty and uncomfortable, elderly men stare at any woman that enters the swimming pool room - I cant even imagine what happens inside the wet sauna. The cancellation policy is suspect at best - you cannot call and cancel, you cannot cancel in person without an appointment and they claim that the next payment within 30 days will be taken out regardless of your snail-mail cancellation. Just walking into this place can give you a sense of the shadiness of their ownership and management. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but I was wrong. Dont be like me. Unless of course, you enjoy creepy old men staring at you and leaving their sweat everywhere without apology. Then by all means, have at it.The only positive thing I can say about this place that I cannot say about most other gyms is the fact that they do actually have a swimming pool and it isnt inundated with a constant school swim team schedule or open swim times that are inconvenient to most adult schedules. So, for that reason, they get an additional star.

I just wanted to commend the friendly and professional staff over at FX Fitness (formerly Bally/Scandinavian) inBroadview Hts.Everyone that is employed here, from the top tier managers (Kristine/Joe), to the facility/operations/building head and his immediate reports (Jay/Walter), to the membership services, enrollment & administrative personnel (Meghan) as well as their personal training staff (David/Tiara) are all exceptionally friendly, attentive and 100% customer service oriented.It’s actually very easy to confuse the employees here with the members because they are constantly out on the floor, interacting w/their membership in a way that you would expect them to beworking-out w/friends moreso than clients.Also, they provide a better/more diversified range of fitness/workout options than I’ve seen at clubs housed in much larger facilities.(i.e. various “ergonomic” strength training options, dedicated free weight area,aerobics/bike/yoga type classes,sectionally targeted ab work options,several different cardio focused machines,a sectioned off area dedicated for members to work exclusively w/their personal training staff which is also equipped with “CrossFit” type of workout equipment, and they even have a top-of-the-line heavy bag for those interested in letting off a little steam w/their workouts!)I should add that this is the only gym in the northeast OH area (that I’ve found) is also equipped with ALL of the following added amenities:1. Indoor & Outdoor pools2. Jacuzzi/Hot Tub3. Dry Sauna4. Steam RoomPlanet Fitness offers none of the above options and most of your municipal facility options may only offer one or two of them but usually a significantly “scaled down” version of what you’ll find at FX.Lastly, the members here are really a great group! Unfortunately, there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of them. I’ve been there for a couple hours quite often at certain times of the day where there may have been only 3-5 of us utilizing the entire facility. But, I’m not going to complain about that considering that also means that you never have to wait for machine availability like at some clubs!Hopefully this review helps out those that are considering joining this facility. I feel that these guys are a good investment for you!Marc.

I have been a member for over 25 years and this gym is not only convenient but has everything you need. Great group classes, equipment you name it. The staff is always friendly and the members are great people too. Id recommend this gym and have to all my friends and family.

I go here every day. Staff is very available, facility is maintained, and personal training is offered. Much variety and never have to wait for equipment.

An old school iron paradise with a new jack swing. A great mix of new state of the art Hammer Strength and HIIT equipment with a dose of good old iron for some “clanging and banging”.

Dirty run down place. My issue that pushed me to my limit is with the cancellation policy. If I want to cancel my membership today I should be able to do so without being charged for April. This is just BS! A few years ago when I was at LA fitness I went and canceled my membership and guess what happened? IT CANCELED! Without charging me an extra month. I haven’t even been in FX since January and I called to try to cancel because I started a new over the road job so can’t go to FX but can’t cancel on the phone. So my fault for not canceling before I left which is fine and understood. But then to charge me for March. I’ll pay for March since I canceled today but to pay for April? I will not be giving my card info and/or updating my card either since many people say they will keep charging. So now my only option is to let debt collectors deal with it unfortunately. Go else where with a better reputation.

They make it so hard to quit. First I called to cancel and they said i need to come in person between noon and 5. So i show up during those hours, and they said i need to make an appointment to quit. On top of that, when the governor shut down gyms, they continued to take money from my account. Getting them to refund a portion of it (no they wouldnt give it all) back, was a nightmare. If you want to go to a gym thats run by people with the same ethics as used car salesman, this is the place for you. They give away t shirts for leaving a good review because nobody is going to do it on their own. If you see someone waking around in an fx shirt, theyre for sale. With all that being said, they do have a good selection of equipment. If they didnt have such shady business practices, i would recommend them.

Why are they taking auto payments when they are closed? I disputed charge and cancelled. Now the owner sends this to a collection agency and they want me to pay for March April May when closed plus late fees. The locker room is a dumpster the owner is trying to sell the business. In the meantime he rips people off. The staff spends the day texting thier friends. Good place catch a virus.

Every time I had gone in nonone was at the desk. They pool chemicals are always off balance. (Former lifeguard) and to cancel their membership is like pulling teeth. If you can sign up online why cant I cancel online or over the phone?

They kept charging my credit card for months and months after canceling the membership, and after i removed my credit card from the account. ABC FINANCIAL( their agency) keeps calling me every day and harassing me and telling me if I dont pay the due amount they will send it to collectors. They still have not refunded me my money, nor they are not picking up the phone or calling me back. Smells like a lawsuit. Stay away from those gyms. They will probably file for bankruptcy for doing this.

I have been going to this Gym since 1992 alot name changes over the years. FX fitness has been the best of all of them ,always keep up with different equipment ,Excellent Trainers ,and nice staff!

I joined FX fitness last year. Had great training sessions with Matt and Joseph. Then summer happened :) Now slowly getting back in shape. I love that they have different levels here where you can do a variety of workouts. Swimming pool and hot tub is a big plus. Perfect for the relaxation.

The gym was okay for a little while until I notice no one cleaning the machines but I let it go because I just started to clean the machines before and after I used them. No big deal.COVID hit and they closed temporarily, but conveniently kept charging me. Then I got this awesome email about how they were going to do temperature checks, require masks be worn, and limit workouts to 45 minutes. I was honestly super impressed and happy they were taking COVID seriously. Until I went it once they reopened. HORRIBLE. People were so close together, they weren’t requiring masks and NO ONE was cleaning their machines after they finished. That was it for me.I made a special trip up their to cancel my membership and they told me I had to make an appointment to cancel a member ship and that they were booked for the day? Yet both of the employees were standing there doing nothing when I walked in.I want to be clear: I’m canceling my membership because of their lack of ability to enforce their own COVID policies. I feel like the email was just a PR move to make sure people didn’t cancel when they were temporarily closed.

I cant say enough about how awesome, efficient and improved the training program is. I started to see results in as little as 3 weeks and the styles and techniques of training implemented are exactly what Ive always been looking for. The fitness director as well as the training staff are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I have never felt this good, both physically and mentally. The training is hands down much improved and exactly what I was looking for.

Great facility. Some parts of it are older, sure, but you really get a lot more here than somewhere like Planet Fitness imo. The staff are all nice, everything seems clean, again, just older. The PT is great as well. Frankly, all I see here is people who didnt read a contract before signing it complaining. Im sure a lot of these reviews are due to the area this gym is in. Entitlement runs rampant.

I have been going to FX Fitness for 2.5 years now and have recently(few months ago) seen an amazing change in the training department. The fitness director Mathew is a vital asset to the company. His knowledge and expertise in the fitness department is invaluable. I am able to ask Mathew any fitness related question(including diet), and he always has a professional answer that is in my best interest. I can trust every trainer at FX Fitness, as they continue to provide results to their clients!

This place is a rip off, this has happened for the third time to me already, my account was frozen and they still took the money, when I try to get a refund, no one seems interested in that, I have been calling for 4 weeks after I should have received a refund, managers are not calling back, front desk people pretend like they dont know. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY AND FIND ANOTHER GYM.

The gym itself is fine. Ive had terrible experiences with personal training.I signed up for personal training and joined the gym a few months back. I had a trainer, J, I liked. One day J texts me to say he wont be in that day, I can work with T. I do so. Next week, I go to scheduled a session with J, hes quit the company, Ts my new trainer. No notice. A month later E texts me that T wont be in this week, I can train with E. T had left the company, again no notice.Around this time I receive a text that I won a free month of personal training. I go into the gym and ask for the free month, which they say they will provide. I then ask to cancel my personal training sessions, which requires 30 days notice. They backpedal and tell me I cant use my free month of training for the cancellation month. That I was already in personal training and marketing sent me the text in error.Dont enroll in their personal training sessions. Its just a poorly managed money sink.

The fitness director Matthew and trainer Joey here are hands down the best to work with. I’ve personally enjoyed every minute with them. I would highly recommended training with them. The training here is definitely revolutionize to what it used to be.

I was a member of this place for a few years, but they have built a reputation of scamming people out of their money (which I have experienced myself). The gym itself is okay, but its not cleaned as often as it should. The owner was never friendly to me and most of the staff was the same way (there were a few nice employees that would occasionally say hello or have a good day).Overall, if you can find another gym I would recommend avoiding this place. Their hours arent the greatest either so it doesnt even have the 24 hour benefit of being a member like other gyms do.

The positive energy and friendly environment hit you as soon as you walk into FX Fitnesss Broadview location. I have been going there several days a week, at different times for a few months now and it is always the same. Every staff member I have met is very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about everything from the workout machines, the classes offered, the facility, nutrition and fitness in general. The other people working out are just as friendly. It is a great environment all around. This is the best Fitness center I have ever been too!! I highly recommend you check it out!!

Highly recommend this place. The training is phenomenal. Honestly they have some of the best, most informed trainers here. They revamped the training recently and its really quality stuff, while still being affordable. Looks like most of the poor reviews listed here either refer to a different location or people who are no longer there.The gym itself is pretty cool. Even more options than a Planet Fitness. For example, theres a weight room (weights go higher than Planet Fitness), a room thats awesome for cross fit type stuff, indoor/ outdoor pool, sauna, a mini track, punching bag, tons of machines, lots of classes options.

The gym isnt bad but Ive tried to get a refund of my personal training since after 8 of the 24 sessions I went through 2 trainers. Ive sent countless emails and no solution. I just want a refund.

Maybe you should ask yourself why I quit. If this is the owner maybe you should treat your employees like people and not animals. I got cussed at by you, and you told me I had to stand up after I had a doctors note stating I need to sit or stand as needed due to my back, so your patience with me was ordered by a doctor. I also let the person that hired me know I had a back problem. You also have no idea what your members at that gym are saying about it, and they dont say anything because they know nothing will be done about it.

This was hands down one of the best, most well rounded gyms I have seen in 15 years of competitive strength sports! They have something for everyone. Great equipment, super friendly staff.

The staff is always happy and ready to help, good selection of cable machines, dumbbells up to 100lbs, and amazing force classes to get your heart pumping. Plus they fixed the roof so no more leaking. Five starts every day!

Anna and Sarah are my recommendations for anyone who is going to join or need help in any question they may have.I hate working out because every gym that I have been to either has a rude staff or its just not clean. This Gym is perfect..I always go to Anna if I need anything and she always has a smile ready to help. I brought my brother from planet fitness to here and he loves it, and yup, Anna was the one to help and get him signed up and ready to go less then 10min.....

I like the gym when I was going but Rick Freeman will try to get you for your money. I had a issue with him about personal training and he was not any help at all. He took money off my card without my permission. I got to the point I had to call the corporate office several times on him about my issue. I like some of the equipment but some was out dated. I paid my last bill with the gym. I got a call yesterday about money I owe. I said I dont own any money. I will never go back to that gym. Rick Freeman did get fired so I was glad to hear that. And I also got the run around when my membership was up as well. Why give the run around if someone does want to be a member of your gym thats there right you dont have to make up stuff when the membership is up. I know next time to start reading reviews about places before I sign on the dotted line.

They will not cancel my membership as I have stopped in twice and called 3x, and repeatedly e-mailed. Do not go there and sign NO contracts. This has been horrific experience!!!!!

Because of my schedule I workout at 5am. I have showed up a number of times to a gym that is not opened at 5am only to cause me to go back home and miss my workout for the day. I have been told by front desk staff that the issues are being resolved but they never were. Because of this I cancelled my membership because I literally could not use the gym due to it not being opened at 5am as posted in the facility. I asked the manager on duty when I cancelled to provide the contact information for the owner and she gave me an email. I emailed the owner a number of times stating my concern about an additional payment coming out because I felt it was highly unfair that I had to pay for a facility that I, again, could literally not use. I never got a response and my payment still came out. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed that I couldn’t at least get some sort of response.

When something is brought to the managements attention they address the issue. Cleanliness is important and they maintain a clean facility. Very much appreciate a clean and friendly environment!

I have belonged to FX Fitness and its predecessors ( Scandinavian, Bally, etc.) for 35+ years. I have always renewed my membership for 35 + years. I also have a membership to Brecksville recreation and for the last 6 months or so have been attending there and not going to FX. My absence is not unusual as sometimes I would attend FX and sometimes not, but I always paid my membership. Recently I received a letter from a Utah collection attorney claiming that I am in default on my Contract with FX Fitness. It appears that the credit card I provided a couple years ago to pay for my annual membership had expired. I called FX and asked why they did not mail me an invoice and was told they do not mail invoices. So instead of spending 55 cents and mailing me an invoice for $99.00, which I would have paid, FX chose to hire an out-of-state legal firm. If the Owner of FX thinks that this is a good business practice, I would recommend that future members think twice before signing any Contract with this Company. For 55 cents FX would still have a paying member!
