The guy is a crook. Use at your own risk. Microwave broken and he said he knew exactly what the problem (a switch) was because that model has had a lot of issues. He puts new one in and microwave still having same issues. Try to call him several times over several days with no response. Finally told him I would put a stop on check if I didn’t hear from him that day. He went to my bank and cashed the check, never called me back. Trying to warn others.

Browns is the absolute best! Al, the owner, is friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and a man of his word. You dont stay in business for as many years as Browns has without a very high level of customer service. Highly Recommend!

Ive lived in Brighton for about 15 years and have successfully used these guys for parts multiple times in the past. They have always had or gotten the parts I needed, although they usually came with a dose of the owners attitude. Nothing unlivable just general hurriedness, along with venting his stress to all.Refrigerator went down Friday. Called Saturday morning. Voicemail answered with Were overbooked and understaffed and are making no appointments until Wed morning...I leave a reply stating Im fine with Wed or later but woul like a call back to get it scheduled. No call back. No call back today after leaving another similar message.Scheduled an appointment with another local repair service for Wed morning with a simple, friendly, 5 minute call.I can get parts for DIY projects online, cheaper and quicker than Browns. And their customer service is virtually non existant. I see no reason to ever deal with these folks again.

Love this place! They are always helpful, I like to try and fix things myself and they are always willing to give me the help I need. Parts that I buy there are always top of the line and reasonably priced.

So I get Al to come out on a Wed or Thurs... I tell him its probably the lid switch on my washer...he checks it out and says its the motor...he has to order it. Will call me on Tues. Tues comes and goes so Thurs I call. He says oh I forgot to order...so 7 days later I call...no answer...8 days no answer 9th day/Saturday I get a woman and she says shell give him my message. Monday he calls to say he texted me on Saturday. Nope he didnt. He says he has setup for noon. I said I need more warning. Agreed the next day. So he shows up and installs motor...still nothing. He says during his install he figured out it was switch but now he cant get anything fixed and says hes done and cant fix...still charges the 60 service fee...this guy needs to be put out of business! Al you need to hang it up man!

DO NOT USE BROWNS APPLIANCE!!!We called Browns because we had a problem with our GE washer and they sent out a tech to fix it. The tech made no attempt to fix anything because he wasnt GE certified and could only really make guesses about what was wrong with it.I have no problem with him not knowing how to fix it, but I cant understand why they sent someone out who doesnt know how to fix GE washer when they KNEW we had a GE model. Despite this, they still insisted on charging us for the service call.So for $60 they will give you the number of someone who can actually help you. I will say they did save me the trouble of having to Google the phrase GE washer technician

We looked around for our washer that wasnt working to be taken in somewhere. we took our washer in, they had it for about a week..and we picked it up paid as they said it was fixed. got it home, after being told they fixed it, and Nope nothing, it didnt work it was run water then drain after making a funny noise. so we called. they told us to take it in AGAIN. we took it back in and they then had it almost 2 weeks (i feel like it was that long). got it home and still didnt work. the owner then came to our house after raising hell with the shop, and thought he found the problem...had to leave and was going to do some research on what he thought was wrong. that was...in october that he was here to check on the washer and said hed be back. weve not heard a word from him nor the shop and when we call in they give us a round about answer as to why we havent heard anything back. $200+ is what we paid to fix the washer and we now have a useless washer sitting in our basement. Do Not go with them unless your prepared to basically be robbed.

DO NOT USE Browns Appliance. My sister recommended them so I went with them, without checking reviews - bad idea. My dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes and was very loud. The owner of the company came out and determined it needed a good cleaning -which he did- and told me not to use the packets of soap, rather the powder stuff. He said I needed a new part (the piece that is attached to the top rack). With the service call and part it was $200. About a month and a half month later the noise is back and my dishwasher leaked through my kitchen floor destroying the wood. I called them back and the owner came back to take a look since the part was still under warranty. This time he told me it was the motor/pump and it would be approximately $280 to fix!! Had he checked the motor the first time maybe he would have suggested a new dishwasher instead of me sinking $200 into the old one. I spoke to a few different dishwasher installation places including one of the larger chain appliance and hardware stores, all said the same...I got ripped off. This is not the worst part of it though. I called him (the owner) to let him know my concerns, when he returned my call he left me a very rude and offensive voicemail, one of which I could not ignore. When I called him back he interrupted me and was yelling at me! I told him my issue was that he did not check everything out the first time, and that seemed negligent to me. He told me its not his fault and that he only checked some of the things in the dishwasher because I told him it was not cleaning so he checked ONLY that. This is not true I also told him it was making loud noises as it ran. He said he did not check the motor and its not his fault. Call me crazy, but wouldnt you check out the entire dishwasher to make sure what exactly the problem was before charging the customer?? And Lord forbid there be more than one issue, that does happen (maybe not to Browns Appliance) but in real life it happens a lot. It just seems to me that one would check the motor/pump while doing an initial diagnostic. He did not like this and became even more rude and agitated and told me he has been doing dishwashers 23 plus years so go find someone better if you can. THEN HE HUNG UP ON ME! I was not yelling or cursing (although I wanted to ) I was firm and clearly disappointed. I guess Browns Appliance doesnt believe in customer feedback because the owner has 23 plus years and is apparently immune from making mistakes. I am so glad I paid some rude man who in my view is not as competent as he claims, to come glance at my dishwasher and charge me for parts when the motor/pump was on its last leg. Now, less than two months later my floor is ruined and I have to buy a new dishwasher (and I got a new nice new one for way under the price I would have paid this guy in parts and labor). There are so many ways this person could have communicated with me and while he is obviously very proud of his 23 years of experience, he may want to become educated on the basics of communication and customer service (if he desires to have humans as clients). Its clear from the other reviews that customer service is NOT important to Browns Appliance. I told my sister what happened and she was so upset and embarrassed that she deleted Browns Appliance from her contacts and said she will definitely stop referring them. This has been the worst experience I have had so far with a smaller owned appliance operation.
