After striking out at 5 Ace Hardwares and 2 Locksmiths, I tried Transponder City and they confirmed they had the FOB I needed. The price quoted over the phone was better than any of the others so I made the 30 min drive to their Facility. I ended up meeting Sam the owner and not only did he hook me up, he showed me that I did not need a total replacement of my old, very expensive FOB, but just the soft button cover portion which saved me $140. Many others would have sold me the complete FOB and I would have never known the difference. On this one and only experience I will never go anywhere else. Thank you Sam!

I broke my Honda Civic car key on a Friday afternoon. I called Transponder City on Saturday morning and spoke with Josh. He gave me the run down of the pricing for a new key and described to me very clearly exactly what they will be able to do for me. I went in and Josh helped me out in store. He was great!!! Had an alarm installed from another alarm shop and refused to go back due to their poor customer service. I took the van to transponder city where I recently had a remote start done on my wife’s vehicle and had an awesome experience. The guys were extremely busy but still managed to get my van fixed extremely quick and inexpensive. These guys are very honest and great at their craft.

I actually did not end up using the service however when I called they were extremely helpful over the phone answering all the questions we had with our issue. They made an appointment available to us for the same day as well, thankfully our issue end up resolving itself before we even got there but the person I talked to on the phone was very very nice and professional.

When I go in for a key, I dont appreciate being offered a $150 repair job on a vehicle that just came out of the repair shop that recommended them for that key. It felt like a shakedown. The key was fine.

Came in asking for a master car key, they said $85 and that they could do it on my remote key fob. They later come back and say programming would be extra (last I checked a master car key can turn on the engine and a master car key cutout is $20 at Honda), I showed them an estimate of them telling me they could program and cut a master car key for me for $110 and they said we can do that. Then again later they come back and tell me there is a problem with my remote key fob because the transmitter is missing, this adds another $45 even after being told it would work on my key fob. On a positive note the master car key worked.

Way over priced, will never go there again, they priced me for my key $165 to $195Then I went to BATTERY PLUS and paid $109 for the same key

Called them based on a recommendation when my car keys were stolen along with my purse so I couldn’t get into my vehicle. Asked about payment when I called, since all my credit cards were stolen as well, and was told cash or credit only. I’m also told that even though they close hours from now, I need to tell them in the next ten minutes if I want the service or it won’t be possible that day. And it’s $200 extra because they have to come to me to open the car (on top of the $195) for making and programming the key. Ok, I get a friend to use their credit card and call them back so I can have it happen that day. The guys who come out are pleasant enough. Takes a little time (it seemed like one may have been training the other, but that’s ok, I work retail, I understand). At the end of it they ask for payment and when I hand them the credit card I’m told that it’s an additional fee to use a credit card! There goes another $12, which they didn’t mention when I asked about payment on the phone. Ok whatever, it’s 2020, this is par for the course at this point. When they tell me they’ve reprogrammed the vehicle so the old keys won’t work (good as a safeguard just in case the thief comes back) I say ok thanks, and ask what I would need to do if I get one of the original keys back. The tech laughs and tells me I would bring it to them and they’d reprogram it.Ok, so luck has it that the next day my spare is found dumped with some of the purse contents. Great! Now I just have to reprogram it. So I call a few places for price quotes, and then call these guys again at the end - figured it was worth a second shot. All the other three places just asked make/model and if it’s a push start or not, and gave me the pricing info. This place - the guy answering the phone aggressively says “why would you need to reprogram your key?! If it’s programmed it SHOULD work!” I’m taken aback but calmly start telling him what happened, at which point he actually cuts me off and gives me his price - which is the second highest of all the places I’ve called.Two strikes, you’re out. Bad customer service from your dispatch/phone answerers and sketchy business practice not to divulge the credit card charge. Say nothing about your pricing.

I showed up with speaker issues, hoping for a repair to avoid the more costly and time-consuming alternatives for my system. The first place I went to didnt even want to try to do the repair; it wasnt a complicated project but it was a delicate one that required precision. Transponder City not only did the work, they did it immediately and they charged less than I would have in their place. Great service, and I have my music back. I couldnt be more satisfied.

I needed to get a new remote programmed. The dealer wanted 250 and I got the remote on Amazon brand new OEM for 50 and they charged me 65 to program it. It took 5 minutes and they were friendly! I will return here for any future needs :)

This was some time ago now but both of my remote keys had stopped working and they transferred the chips of both keys to a new shell and ensured the keys worked properly. I am surprised to see negative reviews as I thought they are straightforward. I actually was referred to them by an Ace Hardware on around 63rd and Western. I was very pleased and didnt know this type of service existed. So glad I hung on to the devices.

Subaru told me $450 for a remote and key for our Forester. I called them and asked if they had the remote and said yes no problem.I showed up about 11:30 and was on my way with a new remote and cut key in 15 minutes. $125 less than the dealer wanted. They did a great job!

I visited Transponder City today for two reasons: I needed to have a copy of my receipt for the purchase of the spare car key in July of 2019. The gentleman that was working at the store was not helpful; he said he needed to contact the bookkeeper and it will take time. Couldnt he print one from the computer? I was also asking how much it will cost the spare key for my other car Fiat 500. In July of last year I was quoted $150 and today I was told that it would cost $400!!! This is ridiculous! I had a very bad experience today and I wouldnt recommend this business to anyone. Unhappy customer.

I called to ask about a service, and was told both that 1.) they can do it and 2.) theyd charge me $45.I drove there, and they confirmed the details that I had given them over the phone, and then they said, Were not sure that we can do it, and asked me to wait while they looked up the details that I had given them before and came back and said, We can try to do it. If it doesnt work, we wont charge you. If it does, that will be $75.I said, no thanks.

Went in to get two new key fobs for my dodge grand caravan. Got a good price and the keys work, but I feel tricked. When the job was done and after I paid, they handed me two keys with the Chrysler logo on it instead of Dodge. When I inquired about this, they just shrugged and said thats all they had. Wish they would had told me beforehand they don’t have Dodge keys so I could have gone elsewhere.

Received a remote start as a gift. Called to schedule my appointment to have it installed and was told any day the following week would work. When I go for my appointment I was informed they had tried to cancel my appointment and left a message for the person who purchased the gift card. As my number was not asked for during the appointment booking and my failure to provide it I was willing to let it go. I left my number and was told I would be called. After a week I had received no call so I inquired if a refund was possible because I just felt thrown off by the availability going from open to none but chose not to press the issue because its not worth a fight. Come to find out they didnt have a technician available to install it. This was never conveyed until we went in for the refund. If there was no one to install it that should have been made clear from the date of purchase. Knowledgeable staff but customer service skills could use some work.
