We thought this would be a good time to reintroduce ourselves as we have had so many new clients already in 2020!Main St Barber and Beauty is owned by Coleen Patterson. Coleen has been doing hair for over 20 years. She specializes in both women and men’s hair, and apprenticed under master barber, Robert Andrews, who was a barber for 60 years in the Bangor area. Coleen is experienced in all aspects of women’s and men’s hair, and works by appointment Wednesday through Saturday.Susan Darling has been with Main St Barber and Beauty since December, 2017. Susan first became licensed in 1982, after graduating from Mansfield Beauty Academy in Bangor. She also studied under a barber in the Bangor area. Susan does both women and men’s hair, with a focus on barbering. Susan works Monday through Friday, and takes both appointments and walk-ins.Samantha Daley has been a licensed cosmetologist for 3 years since graduating from Empire in Bangor. Samantha also joined Main St Barber and Beauty in December of 2017. She specializes in women’s hair, and is up to date on all the latest trends. Samantha produces beautiful results with all her clients. At this time Samantha is by appointment only.We all love what we do, and have fun while we do it. Our clients have become like family to us. We do not look at this as a job, rather, we look at hair as our passion. Making our clients happy and looking their best is our goal.Thank you to all our faithful clients and friends, and, we welcome the newcomers, both present and future.

I stopped in here as a walk-in, and was told there was about a half hour wait, by two very nice women. I came back a little while later and was taken right in. I am very happy with my hair. Sue listened to what I wanted, made a few suggestions, and then gave me an amazing haircut. I hadn’t had my haircut for about a year and a half, so she had a mess to work with. She shampooed, conditioned, cut and blew out my hair, for only $25! I expected to have to pay at least $50 for the service I was receiving, so that’s what I gave her. I am definitely going back next time I need a cut. Plus, it was kind of neat having my haircut in a barber chair!

Coleen has always provided a professional and welcoming environment in her shop. She’s very friendly and I enjoy chatting with her. She pays attention to detail and has always made sure I leave loving my hair :) she has very fair pricing and everyone in her shop does great quality work.

I absolutely love my new hair. Sue was amazing and very professional. I will defiantly be back and will be recommending Sue and this shop to everyone I can.

This place is great! I went in for an undercut and was greeted with a big “hi!” I did have to wait a few minutes while she was finishing up an older mans haircut and I was worried that maybe she only cut older men’s hair. Once I sat down though I was confident she could deliver, and I wasn’t disappointed. Susan did an awesome job cutting my hair, and even showed me how to get it into a “man bun.” By the time we finished there were 3 more men waiting in line, for a cut. I’m glad I saw the sign out front that said “c’mon in” it was different and got my attention. If I could give Susan and Main St Barber and Beauty 10 stars I would.

Sue has been cutting my hair for.over 26 years. She does excellent fades and hard parts. Shes a pretty good cook too.
