National Aquatic Services has the monopoly in California for servicing Maytronics pool sweepers. They know it and at least in my case took advantage of their situation.My Dolphin Plus sweeper stopped working. I contacted the manufacturer and was directed to N.A.S. Theyre over 45 miles from me. I took my unit in, they charged $95 to diagnose the problem and another $190 in labor to replace a cable and a few other parts (which were obviously marked up). Total cost $510 on a unit that I paid $750 for. They definitely upsold me and over charged for parts & labor. ** Furthermore, this took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. I didnt observe anyone there wearing masks or gloves.**After taking the unit home & sweeping my pool twice it stopped working. One of the drive tracks came off the guide rollers (which were replaced during their repair. I didnt want to drive 90 miles round trip to be gouged again. So I went on to YouTube to learn how to disassemble and repair the unit. It was super simple to quickly open, correct the issue and reassemble. It appears one of the guide rollers was improperly installed by N.A.S. Total time to open up, remove all the belts, rollers and reassemble, 20 minutes. It wasnt worthy of their $190 in labor.It also took over a month from the time I brought the unit in until it was ready.I recommend going on YouTube, search the make & model and watch a couple of videos. You determine if youre up to doing it yourself. If not, I recommend finding a different repair facility, even if you have to ship it somewhere. N.A.S. didnt prove worthy of the business.
