I have been going to Nelson for about 20yrs and he is the most honest mechanic Ive ever been to!

Came here a total of three times, the first two times they turned me away, the third I simply decided to leave when I waited for almost an hour. Take your business elsewhere and save your time. I don’t understand how you can run a business like this.

The best shop I have been going to Nelsons since 1995 , when it was call king bear , never let me down , nobody else touch my cars and I recommend to everyone that needs their car fix.

Im from New Jersey, my wife drove my 2012 Chevy Malibu to Long Island and blew the engine. I still had a bank balance on it, so junking it was not a option.I had the car towed to a friends house and asked around for reliable auto shops.( Im a manufacturing machinist by trade and use to do mechanical work on cars for a living)A friend in Long Island NY mentioned Nelsons Auto Service, so I checked out his online reviews.I called for advice a price, and was comfortable with the customer service.My last step in this process was to visit the facility in person. This shop is in a area zoned for auto repair shops so it wasnt easy to find at first.They towed my car in, then took care of all the details. I was given options to repair the original engine or purchase a recycled or a brand new engine. I choose a used motor with low mileage. I was given a affordable estimate as well as a completion date...all went well, so as a customer I would highly recommend this business!

Repair prices are very fair. They try to get you in and out as fast as possible.

I have used Nelson’s for years. As a mother, I’ve sent all my children’s vehicles to him and his shop. He’s honest, reliable and everyone in his shop knows what they are doing. If he can’t find the problem he tells you and doesn’t lie about the problem. I will never take my car to someone else. If you have to wait, that tells you how popular and good his shop is.

Excellent service. Appointment was at 8am. They open at 8. The doors opened at 7:57..told us the service would take 45 mins to an hour. Received a call exactly 1 hour later. Would definitely recommend them.

Was helped by a gentleman named Nelson His service was completely HORRIBLE complete Liar and he overcharges people... if you see this take it serious I feel bad for the people that Go HERE you could be saving more money Elsewhere.

Nelson scams people be aware of that I went there at he charged me 75 for an oil change and guess what he did... Gave me one Quart of oil and scammed me, Go somewhere else he’s a literal scum bag👍🏻

Excellent mechanics, reasonable price not trying make a fast buck on you. Respectable owner and operator who explains what’s wrong with the car and what has to be fixed. He will even save the part to show. I recommend him to anyone looking for mechanic and who has car issues.

I went to Idea First Automobile located at New Hyde Park to get my car alarm installed and they ended up frying the ECM of my Chevy Equinox. I was looking for a auto repair shop to get it fixed and someone had record this shop to me. They charged me a fair amount and fixed the fried ECM. I am very happy with the service would recommend to anyone.!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

They rip you off in anyway they can and they will overcharge you, if you go to a mechanic go to someone you trust and know, They’ll lie to you for there own benefits to make more money off you.

My husband and I have been going to Nelson for over 15yrs. Since before we were married. Very honest and the staff is always very helpful. We will continue to give Nelson our business even though we no longer live in the area. It is about a 20 min drive but definitely worth it!

The best mechanic Ive met. Nelson is an honest person, which is very hard to find in the mechanic industry. It may take a couple of days, hes always busy, because of his great mechanical service to the community, but its worth waiting for someone you can trust that will make the job right, and explain clearly and truthfully what your car has.

Nelsons is the only mechanic shop I use and refer people to. They will not try to over sell you on services that arent needed. I find them to be good mechanics and honest good people which is very hard to find .

My fiancée has been coming here for about 15 years. He referred me to Nelson. I now bring my car here. Nelson is honest and prices are reasonable. It’s tough to find and trust the right mechanic but give him a try he is not all about the money!

You have to get there by 6:30 am if you want to have a chance to be seen. They do good work from what I read and hear, but often times The owner is short staffed and wait time is usually up to 2 hours. I have been there twice in a week to get an oil change and couldn’t because there’s a room full of people morning or afternoon, it’s the same story with short staff so unfortunately I couldn’t get one.I’ve only had one oil change from him several months ago, so I can’t speak for anything else they do. He was recommended by my father and uncle and he and his staff are nice people and the establishment is tidy and neatIt’s just clear he’s stretched thin on staff and can not take as many customers. They don’t do appointments although I would highly suggest it, because A) the business seems to be doing well and rated high and B) just better coordination for his staff and the work load would cancel out turning customers away and telling them to come back in 1-2 hours which still doesn’t gurarentee you being seen...

Very friendly employees that help with any questions or concerns that the costumer has. They also deliver good quality work on your vehicle in a timely manner. I recommend them unreservedly!

Nelson is the best! He is honest and super helpful. I would not consider taking my cars elsewhere. I recently moved but still drive the extra time to take my cars to him. I trust him and his prices are 100% spot on. I tell all my friends the same thing Take it to Nelson!

Awesome. I have been here many times and they have always been fair, helpful and timely. I took my moms car here after getting a ridiculous quote across the street after a collision. They got it over there even though it wasnt driveable and fixed the car for 1/5 of the price the other guy quoted. If you want to be able to trust your mechanic, take your car here.

The guy said it would be 130.00 for a flex pipe to get fixed. I just wanted to get rid of the loud noise it was making. Picked it up a day later before they closed and it basically sounds the same. The noise did get a little softer so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 But it still sounds like my muffler is about to fall off. I would never go back

I called a day ahead to schedule a pre-purchase inspection for a vehicle that I wanted to buy in the brentwood area. I drove over 2 hours to look at the car and get a PPI done. When I showed up, the character at the front, presumably the owner refused to do Pre Purchase Inspection because it was too detailed. I went over next door to Amaya and they happily did a PPI. Terrible experience because I was lied to and my appointment was cancelled without any notice.

Very bad service! I do not give a star, my husband took his car there because of a noise that made the brakes paid $ 350.00 and instead of fixing it left him worse! He took it to another place and it was a surprise that a piece that was put on him did it the other way around, that was a scam I would never recommend this place 🤬👊👊
