The ice cream parlor outside the observation deck has flavors not offered in stores, and they are fantastic! The kids could not have been more excited to see where their favorite ice cream is made, and even the wife and I were able to enjoy learning some of the history. Highly recommend bringing the family for a quick stop, accessible observatory, and again, the especially delicious flavors not offered in stores.Side note, maybe I just imagined it, but the ice cream here is even creamier than what you get at the store.
We had a lovely time with the family. They have $1 scoops in the ice cream parlor with many flavors, country store, visitor center with history of company, and Texas baseball history exhibit. It got very busy about the time school seemed to be letting out. We ate at Must Be Heaven 6 min away and then came over for dessert. Really fun little outing. Observation deck currently closed.
Nice, small Blue Bell museum, local baseball museum, observation deck of ice cream factory and gift shop all for free. The best part is a Blue Bell ice cream shop with large scoops for just $1 each and a large selection of flavors to choose from.
The Visitor building was quaint with stained glass windows and maybe brass for handles. It displayed the history of Bluebell which was interesting. It also had a nice display of the process of making Bluebell ice cream. There are many photo opportunities for everyone. Make sure you go to the Observation Deck to see the whole process live. And get yourself a scoop of ice cream!
This made for a good stop on our road trip. Cant beat the price at $1 per scoop. Had coconut and buttered pecan, both really good. Spacious and clean, enough room to sit and enjoy your ice cream inside or on the benches outside.
Blue Bell is lovely, and with their dollar ice cream scoops, gift store, visitor center, and overlook of making ice cream, its a great experience.
This shouldnt be called Tours anymore as they dont offer tours anymore.Other than that it is a very nice place for ice cream with huge $1 scoops.
Great place to take the kids on a hot afternoon. Delicious ice cream at affordable prices.
Nice stop on a road trip. Good ice cream at one dollar per scoop. Cute visitors center tells the history of the company. They have stopped giving tours and the observation deck is currently closed due to the pandemic. There is overflow parking, so apparently they draw crowds, but it was not crowded when we visited.
No more tours :(They don’t do tours anymore. They have a little information center of the blue bell history. The you are allowed to watch the workers in one area pack the ice cream.I don’t blame them for being extra safe and keeping the germs out.Not very interactive for kids.Best part was a cup of ice cream for $1. It was a really good portion! The staff were super friendly.
Tours arent running right now due to Covid-19 but the ice cream parlor is open. Great for a quick stop with the kids (or without!) and $1 per generous cup of ice cream. Tons of flavors to choose from and some only available in the parlors. The black cherry is amazing! Plus the staff is always pleasant. Love Blue Bell!
I love ice cream u cant tour factory anymore they do have a film you can watch but its nothing like seeing it right there. Sorry youngsters today wont get to enjoy that part
Blue bell ice cream main plant. You can visit to visitor center for historical information.Closed weekend.
Sad that the tour and observation deck were closed, but totally understand. Enjoyed the smiling faces😷 and yummy delicious ice cream in the parlor.
Loved the ice cream., one huge scoop for $1. Amazing.
Loved it. Fun time in the creamery.
If you love ice cream (you do, dont you?) Then this is a must visit spot in central Texas. The tour is great, seeing the operation is nice. The best part? At the end you are at the ice cream counter where you can get $1 scoops of Blue Bell! Honestly, you dont even have to do the tour. You can stop by for the ice cream scoops.
Delicious $1 per scoop ice cream with lots of flavors and free bullet popsicle for dairy free people.
I went wednesday when I was evacuation from port Arthur texas. And bridge City Texas my son lives there.we went there and spend three days in Caldwell texas .went to the blue bell ice toursand country store eat some awesome coffee ice cream bought me a shirt saying iam not in a good mood without my blue icecream its so. When I return home to port Arthur texas I went and purchased my coffee blue bell icecream. Injoy my tour and the store visit yall for two hours nice and clean place to be in.stay safe everyone to all employees and staff .
It says open monday through friday...
Ice cream was good but the tour was closed.
This listing is outdated. Bluebell stopped giving tours 5 yrs ago. The ice cream parlor/gift shop is still open though, and that was enjoyable. Big scoops of ice cream of your choice of several flavors for only $1 a scoop! Social distancing, mask wearing, etc were all followed.
My Daughter and Grandson and I enjoyed the Ice Cream so much!!!!
There is no tour. Dont bother going just go to your local corner store for the same experience.
You’ve gotta stop here if you’re coming through town. Be sure to get the unique flavors in the parlor.
No longer offer the tour but can watch production from an observation deck. The museum was interesting but not much to see. The country store had nice items but it seems like an afterthought added in a small area. The best part, of course, is the ice cream parlor. Flavors not found in stores and only a $1 a scoop and were talking a large scoop.
Was disappointed there were no tours . And no one was allowed on observation deck.
We didnt go on a tour today, but we did stop buy and get some ice cream after getting vaccinated. They have enough space to spread out and social distance. Bummer that the observation deck wasnt open. Bring cash for the ice cream, its only $1/scoop!
Life Long Dream to visit this place, and as an adult, I finally was able to visit. There are 2 buildings to visit, and one part is the museum where there is a lot of reading, and a few videos, but not sure these parts would be good for small children. The other building is the creamery, and where you can watch them pump the containers and package the ice cream. You can also get you some sample ice cream for $1, in was is a nice size scoop. I enjoyed it, but think this place is for teenagers and older, but a good place to take little kids for a scoop of ice cream : )
Very tasty
Nothing better than Blue Bell Ice Cream. Very nice place to visit
Great place to visit on a week day & NOT spring break that way staff has time to answer questions & lines are very short. Huge ice cream scoop for $1! Would be a great company to work for...visit to find out more...
Disappointed that this was not a tour as it states. All you do is look through one window, BUY ice cream for $1 per scoop and buy from the gift shop if you want and thats it. Beautiful outside the facility for photos, the only upside but very misleading for out of towners.
It was really nice. First time I have been and im 22, i loved it.
Great place to take kids and spend some time tasting all flavors of ice cream to learn of the history on how Blue Bell does good stuff
Nice place for a quick stop and yummy icecream! You can make it quick or spend as much time as you like in the little museum and observation area. The attendants are knowledgeable and friendly. Then for just a dollar even you get a quite full cup of icecream!
Great road trip stop! The observation deck is fun for watching the process of making ice cream, (generous) scoups in the parlor are only $1, and there is ample space outside to run it off.
Ice cream is excellent, but tour isnt the best. In the past you were allowed to walk along and watch the process from above, but now theres a picture window on the end stage only.
Best ice cream in Texas. Fun tour with a scoop of ice cream at the end! Kids always love that part....so just do your best to get the little ones through to the end!
Bluebell ice cream is our favorite, and its awesome to be able to see where its made! They have an observation area where you can see into the production facility. Also, the ice cream is only $1 a scoop.
Really neat self guided tour of a local business! I loved learning how this business puts employees ahead of profits
Was very excited to come take a tour and see the facotory. Drove an hour and a half only to find out that theyre closed on the weekends. Online they say open, need to update the hours.
I love blue Bell ice cream!!! Very interesting history of blue Bell creamery/plant. Very kind and helpful people! I highly recommend it to anyone else!
Ice cream scoops for $1 in the ice cream parlor and a small museum room about the history of Blue Bell. Unfortunately when we went on a Saturday the observation deck was closed, but my sister and I (both in our 20s) had a great time! Not only for kids, even if some times we still act like them.
Love it... best ice cream ever
You cant beat a cup of ice cream for a dollar. Super clean, plenty of variety, and great service.
A very pleasant outing for any day
A Covid-19 safe experience with delicious ice cream and super friendly staff. Thanks!
I was hoping to be able to take pics of my daughter standing in the observation deck, then i saw a sign that said NO PICTURES AND NO VIDEOS ON OBSERVATION DECK...DISAPPOINTING but ok. I heard that there was FREE ice cream samples...NOPE...a dollar a scoop... I purchased a mini flashlight for my daughter. Glad I checked before we left because it didnt work. It turned out that the one that i finally found out of an entire container was the ONLY one that worked. Staff was nice. Ice cream tasted good as ever, but would I return, probably not!
What can I say other than I cranky without my blue bell
My grandparents work for Blue Bell Mary Lee was the cook and Jim White worked with the Cows...
Great place very clean and great staff very friendly. An awesome place to take the kids.
Blue Bell is always a southern favorite too bad the main tour wasnt open but everyone will like it!
Neat place
Great afternoon and always awesome ice cream!
Very interesting. Friendly staff. Delicious ice cream!
So much ice cream for $1.00
Nice place and you get to taste ice cream without the high cost. Peach ice cream is the best.
Really cool place to stop on the way to Austin from Houston!
Need to go back for tour, but the ice cream parlor was great!
Miss the more guided tours they used to have, but my kiddos still loved eating ice cream
$1 scoops and lots of History
Wow, free tours and $1 ice cream scoops; what else you need? Had a cool setup to teach you the history of the company. Must visit if you’re a Texan for sure.
So cute! Great way to spend an hour or so and get some yummy ice cream at a $1 per scoop!
Not much to it, dont go out of your way to go. Love Blue Ice Cream.
We were too late for the observation deck, but the museum was nice and the ice cream parlor was awesome!!!!
Very Nice.Great History lesson.
$1 I ice cream, you cant go wrong
Convenient parking, nice stroll around the property and $1 ice cream! Whoo hoo!
Cool to see how the best tasting ice cream is made.
Awesome service & great experience!
Had a great time on the tour.
Delicious ice cream! The ice cream parlor only $1 for a big scoop and tour is great.
Kids enjoyed the observation area and samples.
You cant drive through brenham without stopping for ice cream on a week day especially when its a dollar a scoop 😋😉
Whats a fun place to visit and eat lots of ice cream
It a beautiful place
Fun and delicious ice cream!
No more tours. Cant shop in store... Very disappointing. Website is not updated. Drove 3 hrs tgere to find that out!
Great ice cream, great service, great place to visit
