I worked for Kitsap Mental Health Services as a staff for over 6 years where a part of our job was helping clients with their housing issues; evictions, arsonists, owed rent, you name it. One time I volunteered to attend a training on the Housing Solutions Center that was held at my work. I was impressed with the professionalism and heard about all the services provided by them. A year later, I found myself in an unexpected housing crisis of my own. I swallowed my pride and called the housing solutions center. A recording told me to physically come into the office. I did. I was greeted and asked to fill out an application. The persons coworker interrupted and said, Actually you dont need to fill that out, Ill take it and basically told me there was nothing they could do for me. I was turned away at the door after 6 years of helping people day in and day out.

The staff is friendly helpful kind and caring.

Staff here is very nice. But all they can do is give you a list. From there you contact places that offer subsidized rents or take section 8. In the end after a lot of work you are on a five year waiting list. For me that means dieing in my car.
