Not worth going for help when they can only see you once every two weeks. Also I had to wait 2 months for an appointment to get medicine and when I showed up after calling and letting them know I was going to be a little late and them saying that’s fine I was told to reschedule. Needless to say I didn’t reschedule and will be going somewhere else

Had one of their personnel flat out admit that they dont follow protocol or push to get things done because the system is broken so they are not trying to help. They said they are 60+ old and they cant go and check on people because she was too old to do that. So maybe actually have people that want to help . Spent a whole weekend dealing with her on the phone and there wasnt any files about someone possibly have a schizophrenic mental break. We called multiple times and there isnt any info on file

I went here, and it helped me so much. The staff all cared so much and were so understanding. The therapists were the best I’ve ever had, and I have never told anyone so much. I highly recommend this place.

It is well known that the agency has been in decline for years. Many/most of the employees keeping the agency afloat have burned out, left, or been alienated by management. Whats remains is frightening and dangerous given the gravity of the services the agency is supposed to be providing for the county.

Just my own experiences with people from KM is that they do not take heed or care for their clients outside the mental health. We have had an issue with one older man who consistently aggravates and herasses the residents here in our complex. Including the children. But nothing is ever done, even the PD. You all allow aggressive playing mental challenges when he is well aware of what he is doing. He needs an in home care giver that is mentally sound or be removed before disaster strikes.

I have been dealing with KMH for 7 years now because they are really the only low income mental health services in the county. But let me be clear, they are very inefficient and you are really just a number. I constantly have to fight for them to do their job, and during these Covid times it has been even worse. If you can afford or have an opportunity to go somewhere else, Do it! The other thing I noticed is the large amount of young case workers and staff members who are employed, its like they are getting their ticket punched so they can move on. This would explain why my sons case worker has changed so many times without notice.

The only real problem that I have with this place would have to be for the purposes of its use. There are many problems with the people out in the lobby, but you know what they say. Someone always has it worse than you do. Still, thats why they go to KMH. If things were any different for me I would leave a different kind of review, but so far this MTx has provided to me solutions for most of my problems. Unfortunately, its only for the problems I provide them with. No one ever leaked my information without my permission. Regardless of what has been said, the only people who get any kind of my information are the people I have previously made a request to release information for. Be sure to know your ALL legal and medical options when dealing with the DCR. This place will make decisions for you and continually say ...according to Washington state laws...blah blah blah. Theyll do whatever with the patient and then youre stuck with a huge medical bill because your insurance doesnt cover it.Then all this place will do is just tell you that there are payment options to those services that were rendered. How about better response if someone needs it. If finances are a part of whats causing the stress, why put would add more bills for them? The experience with this place has traumatized our daughter so much that she will likely NOT seek help from anyone if she truly needs it.

I went Sheridan in Brementon. While I had counseling there , it was very clear to me that what I said to my chosen councilor and would not be spoken to ANYONE else unless the councilor feels or I say something that involves me possibly harming myself or someone else. In my experience I liked my councilor. But I believe my councilor May have gotten their own personal feelings involved with a situation I talked about and then proceeded to take action based on an emotional state of theirs. They were a great councilor, very good. But after I left this place, I later found pages of my councilor and I’s conversations in a file in my parents room. Every single conversation. Of course it wasn’t in detail like every word but it was a brief summary of what we had spoken about in each of our sessions. I read through the pages and even though the summary of my sessions were brief, one of papers said “we discussed _______.” What that paper said WAS a brief summary of a session but that what it said was telling other people (my parents) what I had talked about. Counseling is supposed to be the client and the counselor talking to each other, helping the client and making sure the client knows that whatever they say will be safe with them UNLESS THE COUNSELOR BELIEVES THAT I WILL HURT MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. I spoke to my counselor trusting that nothing out side of that office will leave the inside of the office. I KNOW it was a brief summary, but the summary said a subject we spoke about that did not, at all, imply harming myself or others. Why are those summary’s necessary. My parents kept it from me but imagine any other parents reading the same papers of their child after leaving that place, and finding out that they spoke about a certain subject in a session. Then the parents know what their child was talking about wich is NOT what the counselors stated about their clients information. My counselor was great but when her emotions took over instead of finding out more about the situation, I left here, I left the counseling. The reason I went into counseling in the first place, continued with me until this day. I do believe I was getting better with myself until the day their emotions took over their job. My own mother didn’t speak to me for 2-3 days because of the sesión the counselors EMOTIONS decided was “right for me” If you chose to be here let your counselor know that in their summary they have to write, to not include something u don’t want anyone else knowing. And when u explain a situation with them, go into depth before they think ahead of your situation. Or don’t get help from here. Talk to god. He will help you. He will always help you.

The people who work there are wonderful people but, they dont stay for long so you are expected to repeat everything every time you change a therapist or med provider. Its rediculous how many different therapists and med providers Ive seen. Other than that they are great.

I used to go to this facility but when I tried to get my child services it was nothing but a run around! I was told to call access, access said i could come in to the office, i went to the office for children and family and they told me i need to go to the office on almira, i went there . . . they told me i had to have my child with me and go to another office but to also call ahead of time so see about the wait, the number was for access . . . i called them she said it was a really long wait but to go to three office and get the paperwork so that part would be done. I went to the office to get the paperwork and the receptionist let me know that there was no paperwork . . .I left many messages trying to get through to them. They called my number today, accidentally . . . they were trying to call someone else. Its scary that they dont communicate with each other and have no idea what each branch of their company is doing. I dont want to bring my daughter there, but we have zero choice if were on state medical. Its effed up.

My Therapist here she is amazing. She sent me to get a psychiatric evaluation with their local psychiatrist (Maybe a therapist or counselor, peer listener) which she raved over. It took a while to be seen by this Dr.Oz. First thing he asks me is “well do you have any questions for me?” Ill prepared he didn’t even have my medical history and when I said I could show him he basically said “I have it” what he read off to me was from my original intake at from KMH. Not medical history! I told him what my medical mental history is. He types out what I tell him. In the meantime his assistant keep coming in to ask him questions. It was not the psych evaluation at all. At one point he tells me “You don’t seem intelligent” excuse me! The man who came Ill prepared? The man that didn’t even have a DSM handy, the man that wouldn’t listen but talked over me? Tells me that I don’t seem intelligent? I’ll be asking my doctor with several degrees that actually listens to refer me to someone with people skills as well as a brain bigger than a walnut. Someone that pulls my medical history and has an actual assessment and questions for the person seeking help a full, actual psychiatric evaluation. Not a pill pusher. I left feeling dejected, insulted and infuriated.(Psychological assessment is a process of testing that uses a combination of techniques to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities. Psychological assessment is also referred to as psychological testing, or performing a psychological battery on a person.)

Called them, seemed rushed. They were not friendly or warm about me trying to seek help from them. I recommend trying somewhere else localy. Dont support this place, look at their reviews. They need to start welcoming people, not deterring them. They could just be understaffed, poorly compensated or something too. But when I look for help I look for a warm welcoming place.

After years of putting it off, I decided earlier this year that I was going to speak to someone about my depression/anxiety. I ended up speaking to one of their counselors that went by CJ. He didn’t ask to many questions other than, did I do drugs or drink. Didn’t seem to show much concern about my concerns. Overall the session felt like a waste of time. Then a week later while at lunch, I get a call from a rehab center saying that he referred me to them directly, without talking to me about it or anything like that. I told them no thanks. Worst counseling experience I’ve ever had. I hope they don’t treat everyone with mental health issues as if they’re a drug addict/ alcoholic.

My experience with my child in this facility put me through one of the worst experiences in my life and ultimately tore our family apart. All from a facility that is supposed to help your child and your family, the therapist and staff took every step to damage the family. Their actions are difficult to believe. Rather then offer family counseling, my child was encouraged to have all ability for a parent to have information on their mentally ill child or decision making on medical interventions such as medications taken away, as this is the law in Washington. In the midst of all this, a diagnosis was completely missed by them as they were so busy fighting the wrong battle. We were drawn into a court battle that should never have happened, ultimately finding the family was the best place for this child. The head of mental services acknowledged his staff messed up and finally stepped in to remedy the situation to the best of his ability but the damage was already done. When I requested to speak with him later after the trauma of these events occurred, I was repeatedly ignored, despite being polite and professional in my request. I would be very cautious if you use this facility to keep your child safe from themselves, though I also understand there is not always a lot of options.

I have been yelled at for asking questions. Drs and most staff HORRIBLE! They want to shove antipsychotics down childrens throats. They dont wanna help. I asked for a referral to Seattle Childrens Psych and was refused, with no explanation. My dear friend Shereen Ann Decker lost her young life due to them shoving 9 different drugs in her. She went to sleep and didnt wake up. She was only 35.They have blood on their hands. They need to be shut down. Beware of their WISE program too. Grifters, liars&cheats.

If you have a family member or loved one who is mentally challenged and must use this place due to being on Medicaid, I highly suggest obtaining an ROI, Guardianship or Conservatorship first. You cannot file a grievance/complaint with DSHS on behalf of the individual without it. Your only option, if you are not happy with your loved ones case management, would be to file a complaint with SBHO (Salish) or the DRC of Kitsap County but even that would just be considered a low level grievance.

Like any well oiled machine kitsap mental health relies solely on the payments of Medicare and Medicaid recipients. to keep this machine running they tell patients continuously that something else is wrong with them year after year only to continue them in therapy that they dont need to put them on more medication is that they dont need and God for bid you ever done a drug in your entire life because youll be deemed a drug Addict for the rest of your life on, permanent medical record I hated everyone there. They compared me to a woman with borderline instead of treating me like a gay male
