I inherited my car from my grandma. It was sitting for a year so I brought it in for work and to have the engine checked out. This was in July. I got the all clear, with a recommendation to flush my power steering fluid. Well I had a couple things come up and I made my appointment for September 20th. On the 17th my alternator belt snapped after being completely shredded! I had my son in the car with me when I couldnt steer anymore, while on the highway!I got my car home and replaced the belt, along with the serpentine belt. I am livid. They barely apologized and are taking NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their mistake. I DO NOT RECOMMEND having any service done here!

My experience here has been lovely. I was in a bit of a time crunch with insurance to purchase a vehicle after mine was totaled. Bret was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and super patient with me during my indecisiveness, without being pushy. I was also scheduled a meeting a couple weeks after my purchase with Kevin (who is incredibly observant!) to go over features of my new Subaru that I may not have discovered yet. Im very pleased with my purchase and the crew at Peninsula Subaru!

They didnt even try to work with me. I showed them similar vehicles from nearby lots that I intended to drive home that day, and their attitude was, basically, why should we compete when theres always a ship full of sailors we can rip off at full price? I spent $10K elsewhere (and am admittedly very happy with my purchase); its their loss.Seriously, dont bother. There are so many competitors nearby thatll give you a better car at a better deal. Visiting Peninsula Subaru was just a waste of time.

For context, see my previous review of Tacoma Subaru. After that warranty visit, I noticed my air conditioner was still not blowing very cold air and after the way I was treated in Tacoma, I decided to try and bring it to Peninsula Subaru in Gorst. They were kind enough to take a look and I was treated very well. I told them what happened at Tacoma and they were appropriately agahst. So they looked at the AC and determined not only was there a hole in the compressor hose, the damage was old. As in, should have been caught by the other dealership far before we found it. To my relief, they opted to replace the damaged part for me for free. I checked online and the repair typically costs around $1,600 so I was very happy they went above and beyond.Ive also had my brakes done here and am talking to salesperson about trading in my Forester. Peninsula Subaru does appear to be doing the work to provide a great experience for their customers. I know things can happen and mistakes arent personal, its how you handle the mistake as a company that speaks to me the most. Not only did Peninsula Subaru service clean up another dealerships mess for free, they were kind about it and made me feel confident that my car was in good hands.

Today is Saturday and I called the service department around 11:30am to see make sure it was okay to walk-in for an oil change. The woman on the phone said yes and to bring it to the express service. I made the trek and arrived at around 1:30pm. I wasn’t greeted at my car, and could see the front desk person just sitting there(he was like 8 ft away doing nothing), so I walked in to ask for an oil change. I was turned away because they were busy (ok, I get it), but I called and the woman said it was okay to walk in. I stated that and he said he informed her at 8:30am to turn people away. This was not a good first impression.

Built a custom order today, talked to Garret on the phone who said it would be $500 deposit and would take 8-12 weeks.Came in to dealership to order and was told by a sales person named Jay I would have to pay 3K over full MSRP because all Subaru dealers were charging a Northwest Market Adjustemt or there was no deal.I asked if that was truly non-negotiable as there were other dealers farther away that were offering no mark-up. He said it wasnt negotiable, wished me luck and I left.Total rip-off, lost a longtime future customer and cash sale over this one.Wanted to keep my business money local to support the community but I will shop elsewhere from here on out.It baffles me that a business who pitches the importance of family values and community would stoop this low and lose a sale.I sat in his parking lot and called Mitch @ Bud Clary Subaru in Longview. Worked my deal for MSRP over the phone and had my deposit in the mail within an hour.I understand asking a premium for a vehicle on the lot that may be in high demand, but when waiting 3 months for a car asking someone to pay 3K over retail is unethical. It amounts to telling me I have to pay more for the pleasure of doing business with them, which is completely backwards.Bottom line is this, there are Suabru dealers out there who are honest and want your business and offer better pricing, just pick-up the phone and call aroundl

It wasnt until the issue reoccured with my lights uninstalled that they took the issue seriously. Felt like we werent taken seriously until I came in with a pre-approval from my bank. Wasnt told they ended up switching the bank up to their in-house financing (at a higher interest rate) until after the paperwork was all signed.I do want to give a shout-out to Jake our salesman, hes a bit new but I felt like he was trying his best to work with us as much as he could and was fairly knowledgeable about the products he was selling. Took the dash apart and sure enough it was disconnected. They wanted to charge me money to diagnose it a service covered by the recall. They claimed they did an inspection. BS. I had the inspection done 2 days earlier by another tech to keep it fair. Subaru marked every thing in the green. Battery failed but marked as great. Power steering low but marked as great. Tires got replaced due to unsafe wear marked in the green. Dont trust them. Not worth your life...

Greetings! My wife and I bought a 2021 Forester Limited last week and we were so pleased with the entire purchasing experience that we wanted to share with the public. Every employee we came in contact with at the Peninsula Subaru dealership was friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. Long time Peninsula Subaru salesman and current Internet Fleet Director DJ Dougherty was especially pleasant to work with and expertly demonstrated the vehicle’s capabilities for us with NO sales pressure whatsoever. He presented us with an excellent purchasing offer at our request. The offer combined with Peninsula’s outstanding service department’s reputation and excellent Subaru financing (0.9% for 60 mos), made purchasing the new Forester a “no-brainer!” I would be remiss if I did not mention the mentoring we received from our friend Thomas Lerch who is a superb ambassador for the brand. Tom “shared the love” he has for his Outback and Ascent with us and steered us in the right direction with Subaru as a brand and Peninsula as a dealership. Finally, though we did not have an opportunity to meet him in person, the professional manner in which Peninsula Subaru is run is a direct reflection of its owner, John Dionas. John is well know throughout the community for his humble generosity and desire to serve others. He has assembled a winning team in Bremerton Washington and we look forward to returning for service and sales for years to come. Subaru safety, quality, and performance is fantastic, but it is my opinion that excellent personal experiences like ours is a huge part of what makes Subaru #1 in brand loyalty!

Avoid this place!TL:DR - If you want to be screwed over, go to Peninsula Subaru.I made the mistake of buying a car here several years ago and have since only gone back when I needed warranty/recall work done. When buying the car, I should have just left because their sales folks are beyond sleezy. Theyll tell you that you can get one price for your trade-in and then after youre already in the process, they magically find something that makes your car worth $2,000 less.Their service department is ok, but will try to screw you over if youre not paying attention.Example: I brought in my Subaru for a valve replacement recall. The work took over 3 weeks. When I got the car back, everything seemed fine. However, the first time I started it AFTER they worked on it, the engine starter screeched! It definitely made a noise it SHOULD NOT MAKE! After bringing it back to them, they had the audacity to state that, yes, the starter needs to be replaced and its going to cost upwards of $900 or so. To be clear, I dropped the car off and it was fine. I pick it up after they do a bunch of engine work, it makes weird noises, and they think I need to pay for it. The service guy then goes and talks to his manager and they agree to cover it. Right......I probably wont buy another Subaru again anyway, but if I were to buy one, I definitely would not buy one or service it at Peninsula Subaru.

Extremely overpriced for average work. Be conscious of what words they use with you and what they charge you for. Check-up is for free, diagnostic is $150 (they plug diagnostic chip you can use for free at Autozone) They wanted 700 for a rear wheel bearing, most mechanics will do it for half the price, they wanted 600 for front breaks, most mechanics again will do for around half the price. When I called them out on sneaking in an additional fee for running a diagnostic check that took them five minutes, the woman at the front desk claimed she didn’t speak to me on the phone. Poor prices and poor service, over all a poor reflection of Subaru dealerships. By the way I’m a loyal Subaru guy. But be smart and use a mechanic.

I dont know what they changed but the past few years the place is going down hill fast. The express service is far from it, even if you pull up and there are no cars in line. The breaking point for me is the service department will NOT answer the phone or return your calls. I have tried to book an appointment to have a very expensive regular maintenance item performed, but after trying to call for 3 days and leaving messages I will give my service to a local mechanic for 2/3 the price. I dont even care about my free oil changes at this point. a 2 hour wait is not free to me.If you cant even answer the phone to service a car I purchased from you speaks volumes to me. Life got busy and we left the car on their lot for about a year before having it towed elsewhere to have the work done for half the price. When it arrived at the new service center, the wheel and new tire that was in the trunk were mysteriously missing. When I called Peninsula Subaru to address this, there was zero concern showed. They asked what Id like them to do about it. I reasonably requested they replace the missing tire and wheel.Without hesitation, they immediately hid behind their not responsible for items stolen from vehicles when in our care clause on their service agreement. There were several other valuables in the car that were not disturbed. A thief wouldnt jimmy a locked trunk, take only a wheel they didnt even know was there and leave no indication the trunk had been tampered with. Even if that were the case, theyre openly admitting that their lot is not a secure location and you should not trust your vehicle in their care. They obviously forgot to return the wheel to the vehicle and it ended up in inventory to be resold.Dishonest, incompetent and disreputable.

Quality and honesty. I felt as though Peninsula Subaru got me in and out as quickly as they could for the lowest price they could manage. Treated fairly and with respect. Well be back again and again.

This is the second new Subaru I have purchased from Peninsula Subaru. The experience here both times has been quick and non pressure. Andrew was great about getting back to me in a timely manner and helping me find the exact car I was looking for with no pressure. When the car I wanted wasnt going to be in for a week and I had sold my car, he got me a loaner for the interim. When I didnt have time to come down and pick up my car when it arrived, he drove it to my workplace 20 minutes away at my lunch time.If I ever need to purchase a new car again, I will come back to Peninsula Subaru. They truly want to keep business local and work hard at keeping their customers and giving them the best deal in the area.Tory, who answers phones and greet you at the main desk, has tons of energy, is super friendly and spunky, and is a great asset to the dealership. She is an amazing person to begin your experience at Peninsula Subaru.

I bought a certified preowned Legacy3.6R, took it to Pacific Import Auto the next day to get it in spected for my piece of mind. The timing belt cover was leaking, a repair covered by warranty that requires the removal of the engine. I wanted Pacific Import Auto (PIA) to inspect the car befor I bought the car, but I was lead to believe by the salesman that their insurance wouldnt cover me to take the car from Port Orchard to Spanaway to PIA. What I am upset about, they gave me bottom dollar for my trade and I paided 1500 over Kelly Bluebook high . I didnt want to pay $30k for a vehicle that has had or needs a major repai the removed the motor from car. I want the other 3.6R on the lot or my Chevy cruise back that they gave 7500 for Kelly bottom $ for. Iwas told that could never happen, and I was stuck with it.I was informed today that maybe next Friday, 11days after purchase. I might get to enjoy my $30k purchase. I have never been so mad and upset. Almost totally burned me on anything Subaru.

I bought my WRX new here about 5 years ago. The sales experience was typical of the many dealerships Ive been to. The starting price was marked up a ridiculous amount and we spent time back and forth negotiating a lower price until I was happy enough at least to buy the car I wanted. They also try to get you to buy all the extra services and warranties which jacks up the price of the vehicle significantly if you bite. Again, this is typical of most dealerships. If some of the services or products sound like something youd want, try getting those things elsewhere and you will save a lot of money.Their oil change for life sweetened the deal for me a bit and Ive had no complaints about it. They did a battery check and it failed the test 1 day before the warranty was up and they replaced it free of charge like any decent dealer should. The staff are always friendly and have not tried to push unnecessary services on me or try to sell me a new car, yet.I remain skeptical of all dealerships honesty and trustworthiness but I am very slowly warming up to them. If you decide to buy here just make sure you dont get a bad price and you should be in for a good post sale experience.

Exceptional service. Showed up around 3hrs late due to unavoidable circumstances fully expecting to just reschedule but surprisingly they were very understanding and got me in and out in record time with honest answers and a smile. Very much appreciated. Thank you😊

Bought Suburu through DJ Dougherty 10 years ago. Very pleased with experience, price, service, and no hard sell. All work on Legacy has been performed by their service department. Looking to replace car due to high mileage so went back to DJ. He makes it fun and and I would encourage anyone looking for a no regrets shopping experience to talk to him first.

I have to say Ive been to these folks twice and they have been pretty amazing. The only thing Id caution is that if you call just make sure to contact the service desk. They know their availability and timelines better than reception does. I was told twice to just stop by but that isnt the case. They made good on taking care of me though. Id recommend them to anyone.

If you are in the market for a Subaru you NEED to go to Peninsula Subaru! The staff is super friendly, prices are good and the selection was impressive. Walked in just looking and left with a new Outback. I HIGHLY recommend working with Wesley Jordan. He is knowledgeable, committed, and funny. 5 out of 5 for overall experience from my wife and I. Thank you Wesley and DJ!

Love our Subaru team... I went for an Oil change and I did not have to wait long. Also thank you team for checking my air filters, and for bringing them to the desk to show me how dirty they were. Great catch.

Ive never been to a dealership that didnt wash your car or vacuum the seats after a service. I wasnt expecting to stop in but it was an emergency. I waited for an oil change for 3 hours. I started to get impatient but thinking about a freshly vacuumed car perked me up. When I was led to my vehicle, seeing it the same as I had left it was upsetting. I could have driven to Tacoma Subaru, gotten a 20 minute (guaranteed) oil change, and driven back in less time.

I went into this location for the first time today and I was very impressed. The experience I had working with the staff here was noticeable better than the experience I had last week at another dealership. I was not familiar with their pull up services so I parked in the front and walked inside. Richard greeted me when I came in and told me how to get to the service department. After I gave my keys to the servicing department to do a free diagnostic I found Richard and had a very pleasant experience with him. From the start he knew I was not planning to buy any time soon and he still gave me his time and effort. He was honest with what he knew and didn’t know, he didn’t push a sell at all which I’ve never really experienced with a car salesman so that was very refreshing, and while we were looking at models to get an idea of the price he didn’t try to convince me to get the top notch model. If you want to buy a car from this dealer, Richard is definitely someone you want in your corner. And tell him I sent you.
