Bad experience after bad experience. Very poor customer service, rude and unhelpful. Inflated prices. I know several people who refuse to shop here at all and now, finally, I never will again. I would only recommend this place if you are in an absolute pinch. Even Walmart is better. For a much better experience shop at Brown and Robert’s on Main St or order your stuff online.

Although they do offer propane refill service they take advantage of their customers with pricing. They charge for tank size rather than gallons actually used. Got my tanks filled at tractor supply for half of what true value wanted. Definitely will not be back to this store.

Helpful, had everything I needed. Staff treated one another and customers well during my visit and they offered to load the pea gravel I was buying.

I ordered two items online and had them shipped to this store for pick up, after i ordered them i decided it wasnt what i wanted so when i received an e-mail that they were ready for pick up i decided to just go to the store to have them credit my account. I was told they couldnt do it and i had to do my return online through the True value return page which clearly states the Ship to Store policy is to return it to the store it was picked up at. I even called customer service to verify this and was told the same thing and was told i should have been given credit on the spot. So back to the store i go to return these items again only to be told again that they could not issue me a refund because they were a franchise store. Really so this store has its own policy separate from corporate True value? I called customer service back and after a few minutes the matter was resolved with my satisfaction. 5 stars for customer service. 0 for this store.

On several occasions, the priced charged is significantly higher than the marked price. Today I returned an item I was charged almost $25 more than the price should have been. First accused of having the wrong item, then tried to give the correct price back....still $25 short. Then accused me of bad attitude and barred from the store! So they try to take my money twice and Im the bad guy! Ill be glad to shop elsewhere and save money! Thieves!

Every time I have visited this True Value store I have felt welcomed, have more often than not had someone approach me to ask if they can help me with what I am looking for, and have usually left satisfied with a purchase. Thanks to the owners and staff!

Google shows the wrong hours, they’re only open until 5:30 and routinely lock the doors by 5:20 or earlier. Not the nicest group of people, one or two tolerable employees -but overall pretty lousy customer service. Way overpriced, at least a few products are twice as expensive as other stores in town. That being said selection of hardware is reasonable, but overpriced. Wish I could love my local hardware store, but they just don’t cut it. Go to Brown and Roberts.

Very helpful staff that have helped me find hardware items which I have difficulty describing at times. Never have Ive gone into this store and left feeling like I was not helped by the many informative staff here. I feel confident saying that Brattleboro has two great hardware stores. If I cant find what i need here Im sure to find it at the other hardware store. The other nice thing about shopping here is that the staff will refer me to Brown and Roberts hardware store if they do not have the item i am in need of in inventory. It goes both ways Brown and Roberts also sends me here to Fireside True Value if they know the item is here. These are both great hardware stores.

Ive seen things changing in store from the help to products. I think people want to find the best deals from amount of pay to the best deals on products. This place has lots of products most are reasonable in price. It pays to shop around sometimes. This store beats other stores close by on some things and are competitive on others. I think the help as everywhere are looking for the highest pay they can find. Everyone is able to get answers for all questions great place

I arrived at the True Value location to acquire a hose for my washer at 5:55 on a Thursday and after finding the doors were locked I checked multiple clocks in the area. All of which proved to have the same time, confirming they closed early. Why post hours when you do not follow them. I was able to find excellent service at Brown and Roberts also in town. There, they understood how a clock and customer service works.

I went into this store 3 men greeted me asked of I needed help and when we couldnt find what I needed I had mentioned I saw the item on their web site and they ordered them for me. They informed me they would be in in 2-3Days. I was completely happy with the initialCustomer service now waiting for them to arrive and pick up. Thanks for the great customer service at a great price.

Helpful staff but limited merchandise. No 12 foot extension cords, lamp dimmer switches and sale items still overpriced. It looks like the store is going out of business. Sad!

Absolutely terrible service. I rented a floor sander for a day. Called them several times to make sure on the reservation. They rented it to someone else. No apology nothing! They did this two weekends on me. Shame on me for trusting them the second time. Will not buy anything from them!

One star for parking. Rude..high prices...no greeting upon entering ..wont go there again. Brown and Roberts is pretty close

Very unprofessional, lady up front was very rude.

Thus True Value has lots of stock and little else. The staff practcally run and hide and when you do find them tjey are ann oyed snd I usually know more than they do. Attitude problems all over.ears of experience here. Brown & Roberts downtown is a thousand times more helpful and friendly. They ask if they can help you.. then do it with knowledgeable stsff.

Tons of items... if you need it you can probably find it BUT they used to service lawn and yard equipment and no longer do and no longer have anyone who knows about the equipment they sell so that’s a bummer.
