I cant say enough amazing things about Blue Pearl Brandon and Dr. Emma Byers. Our doodle injured his leg and we took him in to have it looked at. She was SO compassionate and very helpful. The entire staff was great. I was so nervous because of covid protocol and not being able to stay with him but they put me so at ease and made the process super fast and simple. I cant recommend them enough.

My cat was found to have a diaphragmatic hernia with some of his organs in his chest by his regular vet who sent us here right away. Dr. Weeren evaluated him immediately and did the surgery the same day. My boy stayed for two nights and the whole staff was super nice, attentive, and patient with me while I tried to figure out how I was going to foot the $7500 bill (what can you expect from an emergency vet.) Surgeons were very communicative and kept me updated with his recovery and the staff has been happy to answer any and all of my questions while he was there and since he came home. Other than the price, which was expected, I had no issues with this place!

First I was extorted for 125$. Then we were told she would need emergency surgery totaling 5000$. Then we were told she could get by with an I/V costing 500$. Then go to our regular vet for the surgery. I should have read the reviews before taking the drive. I will also be filing a complaint with the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons. As I was leaving the vet tech was trying to explain the commissions of the Veterinarians. I didnt have the energy to listen to him babbling. These are some greedy people that take advantage of people when they are vulnerable.

Took our family pet in due to an emergency, not eating/drinking and lethargic. We spoke to Dr. Tara Keaney who was GREAT. She provided a detailed diagnosis, listened to our concerns and provided alternatives. She made us feel more like “family” than a pet owner. The location should not only be proud of her but the entire Staff.

I would give the staff, especially the dr’s 10 stars if possible. Especially Dr Huber and Dr Weeks. I would give them a 1 for cost. With no surgery or assisted breathing, our dog was in from Saturday 8pm to Monday 5pm and it was $5,000.00! Yes 5K!Excellent care and attentiveness but crazy crazy absurd cost! We are a single income due to health reasons, so the hardship factor is real. There estimate was at high point $3500 so the gut punch was huge!Dr Huber stayed after his shift and was able to put a dislocated elbow back in place with determination and skill and that had a life changing positive impact for our dog, he should get best vet of universe award.Dr Weeks attention to detail and compassion for our dog was above and beyond and she provided care to address our dogs anxiety and took action to prevent issues from compounding so our dog could heal better and get home to us sooner.Their nurse staff Erin, Kacey, Emily and billing gal Danielle are top notch.Thank you to all at Blue Pearl for excellent continued care of our darling.

Subject: Clyde”s Care......August 15, 2020 we had to bring our Yorkie Clyde To Pearl for an emerency visit from a encounter with a BofA toad ! The care at Pearl was absolutely amazing considering the state that myself and my fiancé were in. Dr. Henrynetiz is the most AMAZING vet a person could ever ask for . They rushed Clyde too the back unexpected of our coming and within 10 minutes the Dr. herself was right there explaining everything in details too us and what we should expect ! The toads are so very toxic to our animals and it was a 30 second encounter Clyde had with this toad . Within 1 minute of the toad poisoning our baby he was foaming out of his mouth profusely. We have had these encounters several different times and none of them were good but we did what we should have done by rinsing his mouth and everything turned out OK. But last night we were less fortunate because within five minutes he was starting to convulse. We rushed him to Pearl and as soon as we pulled in and I came to the door this stuff rushed through the door and took our Cylde without asking any questions. The main purpose of this post is too make all animals owner very aware of what a BofA toad will do . We lost our Clyde but the Vet Dr Henerynetiz and the staff were the perfect professional people we could have EVErR had . Blue Pearl Vets were some of the nicest and caring people we have met in the Brandon/Valrico/Seffner area. Our cat had not been eating the last few days and started to collapse and become lethargic. On Thursday evening we knew something serious was wrong so we took him in to see the emergency vet, many places said they were at capacity and would be a long wait. Blue pearl mentioned a long wait but due to the severity of his symptoms, they brought him in right away.Unfortunately, our cat passed within a few minutes of getting to the vet and there was nothing they were able to do, but they comforted us and gave us a room to say our goodbyes. They even placed him in a casket box and wrapped him up nicely. It was too late for our cat, but they were very compassionate to the situation and helped us through it. We wish there was more they could have done or we could have, but we thank them for their hospitality and kindness.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would.BIRD PARENTS: BEWARE, this location does NOT have an avian vet. They wont tell you this until AFTER they charge you the $125 emergency room fee. If your bird is sick, PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY coming to this location. All they will do is take your money and tell you, yes, your bird is sick. Seek an avian vet to get more information. Now pay $125.Now I see why this location has such low ratings. A vet like this should honestly get shut down. They care more about taking your money than they do about caring for your beloved pets.Absolutely worst experience Ive ever had.

I have no doubt everyone there is doing their best and cares very deeply about the animals in their care. However they were a little too pro euthanasia for comfort. Not that it isnt an excellent option in the appropriate circumstances, but ours was not. This did cause unnecessary distress. We are grateful for what they did to help our pet, but ask them to remember disabled animals can still live happy and fulfilling lives!!

Brought our dog here and they said our best option was to put him down. Just hospitalizing him was $4200 for the night without even doing anything to figure out how to help him. This was simply just hospitalization and pain meds with zero diagnostics. They said no matter what they did it wouldn’t be a matter of making him live a long happy life , If it did help him it would just prolong his life a few weeks.Brought him to university of Florida immediately after and they gave him a prognosis of 60% living.4 days later he is back home and they fixed the constipation without surgery for $2600 and my dog is now going to live a long happy life.We love our dogs so much and to hear them say to put him down repeatedly and that it wonT be humane to help him is heart breaking. If our local vet didn’t call me and tell me to keep trying our dog would have been dead. Extremely poor experience.

My daughter found a small kitten in the middle of the road in Brandon, it had lost both of its eyes and could not see. She without hesitation pulled over and got the kitten into her and rushed him to Blue Pearl for help. Firstly the staff treated my daughter like she had done this to the kitten and made her surrender him to them. As her mom I offered to help pay for vet care and then take the kitten to live with me when he was ready. Instead they would not give her any information on his condition and then I discovered that they sent him to a kill shelter where he was going to be euthanized! Fortunately a foster mom was notified and rescue him from death. SHAME,SHAME AND MORE SHAME on these people at Blue Pearl who are supposed to be caring for animals 🤬 Never ever take your pet here. She asked if I would pick the animal up without asking the state the animal was in or anything and when I told her we had it in a box she cut me off again and slowly, with more attitude, asked again if I would pick the animal up. I wish I could give this place zero stars. After spending more than 5 hours here total after two visits within a few hours of each other and nearly $750 later for three x-rays and 3 medications, my dog was worse than when I brought him in. Come to find out from my normal vets office they completely mis-diagnosed him - not once but twice l, two different vets who saw him there on the separate visits were wrong and I have another bill I have to pay to actually have my dog treated and not suffer anymore. I will NEVER go back to this facility. They misdiagnosed him, didn’t listen to me and gave a medication he didn’t need all to pad their bottom dollar. This clinic should be ashamed of themselves.Addition- just got a call because of my review and the woman who called me very clearly was not calling to apologize or try to refund us in anyway but instead wanted to argue and basically told me my dog wasn’t sick enough to get emergent care aka what their office is for so that’s why I had to wait and then proceeded to argue her point several other times when I was explained to her the situation. That is poor customer service and bath ethics to call a customer who is clearly already upset and then argue with them. I told her to enjoy the money we spent that it would be the last of it they got from my family.

Brought in our older dog that had difficulty breathing. After seeing him for a couple minutes the vet said nothing was really wrong. If we we wanted an answer to what was going on we would have to pay for very expensive testing and x-rays. No alternative solution or any compassion was given. You can visiblly see the dog is having trouble breathing but they made us feel like it was not that serious. They just kept pushing for the tests and x-rays. By the way, all this was over the phone from the parking lot because people are not allowed inside due to COVID-19. Called them later from home and spoke to technician, vet was busy, and again asked about alternative solutions but still insisted on tests/ x-rays. Asked for vet to call me back, nothing yet and that was over 3 hours ago. Going to our vet in the morning and hoping for the best.*** Update *** Breathing got worse overnight, so took him into Animal Emergency Clinic of Brandon, right across the street from Blue Pearl. What a difference. They were kind, caring, compassionate and reasonably priced, 1/3 the price of Blue Pearl. They took out over 1500ml of fluid from his chest. Not sure how Blue Pearl Vets missed how this was causing his breathing issues. Oh and the Vet never did return my call seeking other treatment options.

Long story short we took our Frenchie here and they said he had a uti. We did a full round of antibiotics and he didn’t get better. We took him again the week before his vet appointment (we couldn’t get in quicker to our regular vet) and they ran several test checking for stones in his bladder and crystals so they said. They claimed it came back negative and gave us more antibiotics. 3 days later my dog was in distress and stopped being able to use the restroom. I took him to a different emergency vet and he not only had to go into emergency surgery he did have several stones. He had to have a catheter in overnight until they could preform the surgery and the vet told us his bladder was so enlarged it could have burst at any moment. I asked them if these stones would have been visible 3 days prior and they basically said they don’t see how they could have been missed since there was several. If I would have listened to blue pearl my 1 year old Frenchie would have been dead. I will never take my dogs here again!!

Worst traumatizing experience ever! Paid 300$ for them to basically kill our pup that was trying to pass through birth canal. I have been depressed ever since because the puppy had a strong heart beat an we were told to try an see if she could push on her own even though she had already been trying for 9 hours an the vet even confirmed that the puppies heart rate was slowing inside the womb, Then they finally gave her meds to help with contractions. Then when the puppy was finally delivered, they spent less then 45 seconds trying to revive it. Her excuse was that we should have reacted quicker an that it was already to late. An that at least we got two out of 3. I was devastated. Our puppies were healthy an alive until we left this place. The picture I posted is disturbing but it’s proof of a healthy newborn who’s life was taking out of careless and greedy people. Not to mention but they kept insisting that we go home to see if she could push on her own when clearly, concern is 4 hours between pups! It had been 9! Wish I could rate them a zero

Cant recommend there services EXTREMELY HIGH DOLLAR VET CARE.Had to use them 03/08/2020 and they wanted 8900 to 15k to remove our dogs spleen which was scheduled to be done 3/11/2020 by another vet and the cost was going to be 800 to 1200. So not to speak one sided of the story here is what happened. Our dog had a growth on his spleen which was not known if it were cancer or not. So at 6:45 Sunday morning something happened he was laying on the floor next to our bed and he all of a sudden started thrashing about on the floor trying to get up but couldnt. At first we helped him stand up and he seemed to walk it off like nothing happened about an hour later he wasnt looking well so my wife rushed him to Blue Pearl since they were open. After examining him they said his abdomen was full of blood and they needed to perform surgery to stop the bleeding. They also said they would have to reuse his blood in the abdomen because they didnt have enough on hand. So they give my wife a starting price of 8900 dollars and told her that was a starting point but could go higher with after care of a couple of days. I understand there open on a Sunday but that is of there choice and Vets wanna know why people dont wanna use there services well look at the cost for doing so. I get this was an emergency but we can not afford that type of vet bill and we had to decide whether to approve surgery or have him put down well you get the picture so we had him put down. So the cost total after the whole ordeal was 855.55 so at this point Blue Pearl made a hefty chunk and for me personally I cant say I could recommend them especially after being told 8900 to 15k. All I can say is stick with your vet if you trust them and when an emergency comes up contact your local vet. Not saying the vet who looked at our dog is bad but the prices the practice charges is beyond reasonable.

.PLEASE READ...This may be long but very important. My husband and I brought our dog in on Saturday morning, Jan. 16,2021.She hadnt been feeling well on Friday, threw up Saturday AM, with an older dog, we felt it the best thing to have our Sammie checked out. The vet on that morning was Dr. David Hock. He told us that he felt nothing was wrong with Sammie ,in his word he told us she was okay and PULLING some employees thru the office, that sometimes older dogs dont feel good and that he felt she was fine. My husband felt he wanted xrays ,blood work done to make sure. Of course they said they found kidney stones...needed to charge our credit card over 4,000.00 dollars feeling she may have to stay over night. Okay, we all know that emergency vets costs are high..so ok. Next comes in Dr. Jessica Weeks, and I say DR. lightly. She called and proceeded to tell us that one of Sammies kidneys was dead, shriveled up like an dried up prune ..her words, that this took years to get this way. She proceeded to tell us how old Sammie was and basically that she was in kidney failure, had one functioning kidney. She was obsessed with her age , over and over again telling us ..HOW OLD she was. NEGATIVE.. Weeks felt that Sammie would never make it thru a surgery she was in kidney failure OLD OLD OLD. When my husband said he may want to take her to UF animal Hospital, they couldnt get Sammie out of their care fast enough and how Vet Weeks talked. I could not get Sammie fast enough. When I arrive to Blue Pearl, after giving calls to my husband so he could keep them updated of my arrival, Sammie came stumbling out to me hardly able to stand and walk. I ask the attendant was Sammie medicated, she very smartly answered me.. Nope ,this is how Sammie is. AHH no that is NOT how Sammie is. My husband was taken back at her appearance when I met him half way up to Gainesville .When we arrived at UF, she was SEVERLY dehydrated, after Pearl said to me when I called to complain, that they hydrated her. Blue Pearl NEVER check her urine for infection.. which UF told us in minutes she had a SEVERE urinary Tract infection...but the greatest news was.. BOTH of Sammies kidneys were functioning, but infected. The only thing Blue Pearl was right about was a stone in her urethra. Sammie was operated on to put a screen in so she could pass the stone, she made it thru and in short, her BOTH working kidneys are functioning and her enzymes levels are dropping back to normal. So As Dr Jessica Weeks told us a kidney was a shriveled up prune and dead..it is functioning and alive as is Sammie. Because of Jessica Weeks poor and incorrect diagnosis of our animal, if we listened to her GRIM outlook of our dog, Sammie would not be here today, and I would be picking up ashes instead of our baby in a few days. Thank God my husband didnt listen to the Drs opinion and her poor, inexcusable way we feel she attended to our dog .When I called on Tuesday and talk to Merrilee about this ,she told me that Sammie was medicated when I picked her up...REALLY ??? I was told by an assistant.. Nope thats how Sammie is...and to top this off, they kept half of our money for what ???.Then Merrilee wanted my permission to get Sammies records from UF. .lol.. are you kidding me...NO ...you didnt want to care for her in Brandon and now you want to see proof ?.NO ..heres the proof, My dog is alive and recouping ,with both, yes 2 functioning Kidneys because of UFs great care and of our dissatisfaction of the care and wrong diagnosis by Dr Jessica Weeks and crew at Blue Pearl in Brandon. I thank god my husband stood ground for our dog and got her out of the care of Blue Pearl. .and the money...Im not holding my breath, Merrilee is going to talk to the board to see what can be done.. But we have our Sammie alive. .Blue Pearl cant take that from us

Called ahead about our dog and the situation we were having along with the personal cremation option we chose. After arriving and waiting for 20+mins we had to reexplaining our situation and our options. We were then rudely yelled at that our dog was suffering and then she was taken into the hospital without us. We then had to explain for the THIRD time what we wanted (private or comminual cremation etc) then pay while our dog was taken back. This is not the place if you love your dog because they don’t care at all !

Just moved here and had to take my guinea pig in for an upper respiratory infection. We had gotten him the day prior and I quickly discovered he likely had a URI. They gave me two estimates, first one was just about $275 the second was $650. First estimate was for subQ fluids, exam and antibiotics. Second was all of estimate one plus X-rays. I’ve had plenty of guinea pigs to know what was going on so didn’t opt for the extremely, ridiculously overpriced X-rays. Vet says URI and tells me to keep him on antibiotics for two weeks and try to get him into a primary vet within three days. Well, I couldn’t get him into any local vets that quickly due to being a brand new patient and it being the week of Thanksgiving. After a few days, I realized that they didn’t give me NEARLY enough meds for two weeks. Hardly enough for one. So I called them to get the remainder thinking this is obviously a mistake because why would any vet in their right mind want me paying TWICE for the same thing? I was told that I was supposed to get him into his primary vet, despite me explaining to the vet there that A) we had gotten him the day prior so did not yet have a primary vet for him and B) it’s the week of Thanksgiving. Tristan, the girl on the phone told me I could have gotten him in at the BluePearl vet in Clearwater... Clearwater... absolutely nowhere near me. Suddenly it became perfectly clear to me why they did that. It’s all for money. Way to prey on suffering animals. Thoroughly disgusted by this practice.Could have made quite a few bucks from us too, seeing as we have to make ER visits with our dog who has epileptic cluster seizures. Sadly, we will never have a normal life without ER vets because of it, but will be going to Fetch or literally anywhere else before paying this money hungry, greedy establishment again.

I brought my dog Maggie to Blue Peal Brandon on MLK 1/20/20 to be treated for an allergic reaction. The front desk staff was very kind and showed me compassion. Maggie was seen by a vet almost immediately and I was taken to a nice and clean private examination room. Dr. Rodriguez was very informative and asked me for my permission before administering any treatment to Maggie. Maggie was able to receive the help she needed and Blue Pearl sent all records to my primary vet for documentation. Overall I recommend Blue Pearl to anyone with a serious emergency.

My family has taken our pets to Blue Pearl a total of four times. The first three, they were able to save/cure our beloved family members. Unfortunately, the last time the better option was to go for euthanasia rather than treatment. Despite this, I have nothing but praise for the people who work here. They have always been very honest and up front about what sort of testing needs to be done and how much it would cost. The technician who I most recently dealt with was very kind, gentle, and didnt try to force a decision on me that would land them more money. She also wasnt afraid to use medical jargon and let me know exactly what kind of treatment was being given to my cat. They will take a pet that is obviously ill and in need of attention BEFORE making you sign anything. Ive had problems with this at other emergency clinics. They also allow you to take your deceased pet home and bury them, which is very important to my familys religious beliefs.During my visits Ive seen them taking care of injured wildlife at their own expense.Overall, if you have a pet that is in need of immediate attention, dont hesitate to bring them up to Blue Pearl, specifically the Brandon location. It can be very pricey depending on what needs to be done, but worth it if you can afford it.

This review is of my experience with Dr. Jen Coyle from the oncology department only. It tears me up to write this so I will try to keep it brief. My dog had cancer and was under the care of Doctor Jen Coyle for just under a year. I found her to be the most intelligent, straight forward, humble and compassionate doctor I have ever met. She is funny, down to earth and a truly beautiful human being. I hate the circumstances of our meeting because shes the kind of person you want as a friend. She gave my sweet baby and my family excellent care and I can never thank her enough. If we called her she never failed to call us back. It might have been later that evening or the next morning but she always called back and always took the time to explain whatever questions we had. She never rushed us out the door like she had a lot of people after us (Im sure she did) and was to busy (she probably was but never made us feel that way) No, she took the time with us to explain what she did that day, what we should expect what to do if, etc.Two things: 1. My sweet boy had to be euthanized due to a non cancer medical issue that could not be corrected and that was killing him. This had nothing to do with Dr. Coyle, Blue Pearl or anyone or anything else. 2. Halfway through his treatment I asked Dr. Coyle how long she thought he had to live. She told me that was beyond her pay grade and she had no idea. Then she said not to concern myself with that. Not to worry with that now. He was here today and thats what matters. Enjoy today. Celebrate what you have before you today. Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Be present with him today. Best advice I have ever been given. My best buddy and I didnt go sky diving or Rocky Mountain climbing but we did our own thing and I will forever we grateful to her for what she told me that day. Blue Pearl is lucky to have such a person as this in their employment and I was lucky to have her for our vet oncologist. I havent been able to thank her for all she did yet, Im working on it and this is my first step to getting there. (Its hard losing a pet who was also a best friend.) Dr. Coyle is truly a remarkable person. She is what every doctor, (human doctor or animal doctor), should strive to be like. She is the gold standard for all around excellence in her knowledge and her humanity. As highly as I think of her, I wish no one ever needed her services but sometimes we do. Should you find yourself looking for a vet oncologist shes the one I would recommend and return to. She is truly one of a kind.

I have had to bring my pets multiple times to Blue Pearl for emergency. I have always been treated with care and compassion. They are caring with the animals and open with options and potential costs involved. I unfortunately have had to put several pets down and each time has been a very peaceful experience. Very good at the process for care of your animal and owner. I cannot day enough good things about Blue Pearl. All must realize they are Emergency Vets. They do not provide routine care, so yes, cost is a slight bit higher than regular vet. But when your pet needs care on holiday, night time or weekends, they are there for you and i appreciate them so much.Boo, Cece, Hermoine, and Nicholas appreciate your care for peaceful euthanasia, and we appreciate your compassion when we lost our pets

I had a bad experience with a wildlife rehabilitation drop-off. I have now been informed not to bring wildlife here by rehabilitators.I brought in a baby rabbit. The tech dropped the baby rabbit who was in a tied canvas bag (I did not want to handle it more than I already had, and it was secure in the bag), and it ran off into the bushes a couple of feet away. It was night, so we were unable to find it. The tech did not say sorry for dropping it and right away starting making excuses, saying it was too old anyways and would have been released anyways and they would have never taken it. I understand she probably was nervous and afraid, but you do not have to be rude and state things you do not know. I wasnt mad at all, it was in a canvas bag for god sakes. If anything I should have ensured she had a better grip and warned her better.Yes, many rabbits are brought in too old; rabbit babies are often just juveniles that do great on their own and are not too young to be independent. This one was too young to be on its own. I confirmed with a rehabilitator via videos and pictures (and I have raised rabbits so am generally aware of ages) before bringing the rabbit in.Additionally, I eventually found the siblings in my shed. I took them to a professional sanctuary, and they told me never to bring wildlife to Blue Pearl; they stated they have unreliable quality of care for wildlife. The sanctuary also said, without a doubt, the rabbits were still just too young to be on their own.I hate writing this review, but I want to share the experience so it can be improved upon and others do not make my mistake. I wish I had just waited until I found a rehabilitator.

We took him to get checked out at 1AM, and every person we spoke to was so bright and kind, despite it being very late at night. They checked out pup our, and released him back to us, saying if his swelling didn’t go down, to bring him back in the morning, and they waived the exam fee for us so we wouldn’t have to pay twice potentially!!! I don’t usually post these—but feel that I need to let people know the poor care that is delivered at the Brandon location. DRIVE TO TAMPA! Dr. Weeks and her incompetence is a danger to our pets. She does not know how to interpret blood work, xrays, or ultrasounds—and is pushy about recommending surgery. After 7 hours (during which I waited in the car in the parking lot for answers), 2000 dollars, and no answers, I pulled my pet and brought her to the Tampa location. My pet was then diagnosed with something Dr. Weeks “ruled out”. Dr. Weeks has documentation that is so poor that it borders on unethical. The bedside manner at both locations could use improvement but at least Tampa vet appears to have at least minimal competence.

I was very disappointed with the client service here. I came here because of an EMERGENCY. Starting off with the receptionist, Angie, who kept asking me the same questions over again and seemed to forget why I was bringing my dog in. Then after waiting 40 minutes, (after my dog was taken in without me) I called to see what was taking so long because I knew they had to call me first before administering any medication or doing any kind of treatment. The technician told me that the doctor had still not seen my dog and was with another animal doing an ultrasound at the time. It may not sound like a big deal but I know my dog has severe anxiety and hes only 1 year old. After about another 15 to 20 minutes I get a phone call saying their finally done. The point is if youre not going to let me in the clinic with my dog then there should not be a 40 minute wait for my dog to sitting alone in a room terrified with anxiety. I should have been updated instead of having to call too.

My Murphy was very sick. We thought it was his salivary gland which does in fact need to come out but......it ended up my Murphy was not absorbing protein -- somehow the protein is leaving his body. The gland specialist immediately got in touch with Dr. Otte the internist, she as gracious enough to work us in. All I can say is WOW - A ten is not enough for a review score. I would have to give them a twenty. The time they took with Murphy and explaining everything to us was amazing. They had to keep him overnight but before they admitted him they gave us a high and low cost for everything they wanted to do to diagnose my precious Murphy. There were NO surprises the next day when we went to get him. Now for compassion - I could not believe the level of passion they they had for us and Murphy. I never knew they had specialist for dogs. I was treated with compassion from seeing the receptionist, to seeing the doctors to the vet assistants. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone with an animal they love dearly.Ray and Lorraine Belanger

Unbelievable that they make you choose a quality of care. They don’t care for our pets they care about their money. We were broken. Then to charge me $115 for a consultation. What consultation? Not many options at 10pm so I decided to take him in. The reviews of both ER vet locations in Brandon made me lenient but I decided on Blue Pearl. Carried Zeus in and they got right to work on him. Intake people were very nice, showed concern, and made things easy. Vet was nice, explained what they did, follow up, and answered any questions. We were in and out in less than an hour. It is pricey but sure beats the alternative of waiting until morning for the regular vet to open and letting the old man bleed non stop. I feel like this review will be more of the same. But I feel I should add my experience. I had to rush my pup to blue pearl on a Sunday night. I was charged 600$ for the exam and an xray. Found out she had pyometra. Basically a death sentence without emergency surgery. The vet was very nice and very honest. She explained to us the diagnosis and also told us we could get the surgery done much cheaper elsewhere. But she didnt advise we take her home because of the severity off her condition. Unfortunately we were quoted (with the 600$ I was already charged) almost 6000$. As much as I love this dog, I dont have 6000$! We had no choice but to take her home and hope to find someone asap. We did. Another vet clinic who took her in as an emergency surgery, and did all the same things for 600$. A week later, shes doing great.I did give them 3 stars because they were very understanding and did give us the correct diagnosis so we could get her help at a more reasonable vet. I just dont understand how they expect normal people to come up with this much money

These people will prove that they love and care for animals just as much as you care for yours, if not more. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was informative, doctoring and compassionate to our kitten and us. All questions were answered in-depth, and they will comfort your animal as long as they are in the office. The animal hospital across Lumsden has nothing on this place. They will treat your animal the exact opposite, so Id recommend anyone that actually cares about their animal to go to BluePearl. Dr. Pearce was intelligent, soothing, thorough and reassuring. My dog Leia had eaten something that was stuck in her and clearly was blocking her from going #2. I called my vet after hours and she recommended that I go to an emergency vet. I checked two different vets in the area and Blue Pearl had the best reviews. Since I currently run 2 companys I have an appreciation for hearing BOTH sides to customer complaints and found that the few negative reviews were addressed by the Blue Pearl office manager directly with the review in the response section. This showed me that Blue Pearl, though not perfect because no company is, cares about addressing these issues. So I went in that evening. They took us right in, the doctor came in within 10 minutes and asked LOTS of questions which I love. The more questions asked the better chance to run correct tests and solve the problem. They took Leia back and within 30 minutes returned both her and the obstruction that was inside her.......a freaking Happy Birthday plastic sign that went on top of a cup cake that Leia clearly ate without our knowledge. It was about 3 by 1 and rectangular in shape. Poor dog was all dammed up. Anyway, Leia came back in the room bouncing with joy and to my total surprise I only paid the visit fee which was $99. AMAZING considering I was prepared to pay much more. What a GREAT experience and I highly recommend Blue Pearl and will be a very loud promotional voice when given the opportunity.
