On vacation in the lovely land of Florida in a wonderful town called Bradenton... I get in my partners car and go for a drive only to find that her car is making a loud grinding noise. Knowing that its most likely the wheel hubs, I search for the best mechanic near me....Up pops Gulf Auto Clinic with rave reviews, so i begin my story here... arriving at 730am i speak with the morning shop man, tell him my woes and wait for someone to arrive so a test drive can take place.745 rolls around and the owner arrives, checks in and drives another customer home real quick. Gets back we chat, he states lets take a look and confirms that both front hubs on my Mountaineer are indeed showing signs of distress.Morning man said earliest appointment was Friday, owner says you have some time, no need to do it now but if I cared to wait he would knock it out.1015 truck is done! Made an appointment, literally drove 40 minutes for appointment and the told me before even looking at my car that they weren’t going to be able to fix it/have the part…. Couldn’t you have told me that before i booked or called to notify me and cancel???

I drove my exhusband’s 2029 truck (he just bought the truck in October) to Florida from North Carolina on Saturday. On Sunday the check engine light came on and the truck kept saying change oil. I checked the oil it was low. I have to drive back to NC tomorrow so first thing this morning I called the local Chevrolet dealership to see if they could get it checked out. They said they couldn’t get to it till January. After a google search I contacted Gulf Auto Clinic and explained the situation, they said bring the truck over. When I got here Terry checked the truck and told me that it was still under warranty to prevent me from spending money out of pocket that I didn’t have to. That’s amazing!! Then he took me to the the truck to show me what the issues were. I knew the oil need to be changed so even though they’re extremely busy Terry is working the truck in to be serviced. If you need work done by an honest mechanic he’s your guy. It would have been very easy to take advantage of me in this situation but he didn’t and I appreciate that!!! The Chevrolet dealership won’t even answer the phone.

By far THE best repair shop I have ever been to. We were on a trip out of town and ended up needing new brakes/rotors and this place showed us immense kindness. They were very honest, upfront, and showed us exactly what needed done. They did not try to upsell and only did what they felt was necessary- prices were also incredibly reasonable. There was a cute courtesy table with snacks and coffee for the wait. They even offered a shuttle so that we did not have to wait for the repairs to be done. Terry and his crew were awesome. I live in Ohio but honestly might need to start planning a Florida vacation when I need auto repairs.

This place is awesome . I had an oil leak coming from the rear main oil seal , so I called to see if I could get it in thought I would have to make an appointment and wait next week but they said bring it in so I did they fixed it by the end of the day. Im happy it feels so much better for some reason . I can tell a big difference in the way it drives. :)

Had an amazing experience with Gulf Auto Clinic in Bradenton. I’m buying a used vehicle from near them and because I’m a couple hour drive away from them I wanted a quality shop to look over the car before I made the drive. David was extremely helpful he offered to pick up the car from the dealer and gave me a very detailed condition report on the car and then dropped it back off once all was done. I appreciate the honesty and timeliness and I’m happy I used these guys.

Well my car wouldnt start. I get it there 60 dollar tow for 1.2 miles. Alright. After 2 days they said my battery was being drained, didnt fix it. They popped out my dome light and said that should fix it. Asked them when I dropped off my car to fix the windshield wipers that would only work on one setting. When I picked my car up I inquired if they were fixed, I received a simple no, no explanation as to why. And a 190 bill. For them to take out my dome light in my car. Nothing else was done to it. No fixing. Just take these out and youre good. Update, battery died again and when I called they told me they would have to charge me again to look at something they didnt fix.

So thankful I found this shop!! Excellent service, excellent priced!

Cant thank Terry and his team enough. I was going through some car troubles and didnt feel too confident about the guys who were originally working on it because of the overpriced parts, poor communication, and basic mistakes made when diagnosing my vehicle. Terry took 3 or 4 of my phone calls over the course of a couple days and listened to me about what was going on so he could give me a second opinion. On top of that, he told me to come in so he and his guys could check things out. Didnt charge me a cent for their time. With the mileage of my car at 200,000 and counting I have a feeling there is some work still to be done soon. Ill be coming back to them for future repairs. Finding a trustworthy mechanic shop is not likely these days but I feel like Ive found one here. You guys are appreciated.

Not good went in for noise in rear of truck brakes are bad and oil change did not find noise and said brakes are OK 2 days they did nothing but oil change

Been here several times because of the good Google reviews. Was not disappointed. Never felt that they were trying to take advantage of me or recommend any unnecessary repairs. Originally came here for a second opinion because the Honda dealership said all the rubber strut brushings were cracked and needed to be replaced. The mechanic at gulf auto lifted up my car and showed me that they were still in good condition. Saved me a lot of money and now I dont trust the dealership. I have read that dealerships make most of their money on servicing cars so I would take your care here for a second opinion.

Such a helpful and honest business. The owner Terry was so amazing. There was an issue with my catalyst converter. He contracted the local Cadillac dealership to see if the work and part was covered under warranty and then had my car brought to the dealership for me. Terry was first able to replace the brake line fluid and change the car filter. Also, when I dropped my car off to be serviced, Terry was able to have someone drop me off at work so I didnt blow my whole day. I am so happy I came across this place, and I look forward to telling all my friends that this is THE PLACE TO GO for car service!

I recently had the serpentine belt tensioner replaced in my civic. I don’t know anything about the mechanical working of my car, but that fixed the noise problem. Yea! When I drove off, at closing time, I noticed that my air conditioner had stopped working. I had to drive back the next day for them to correct their mistake. The people in the front office were professional and knowledgeable. The waiting area was comfortable. However, I didn’t like having to drive across town twice to get the job completed. This place gets great reviews, so perhaps this was an one-off.

My experience with Terry and his workers last week was less than stellar. I have an ignition switch repaired on my 2004 low mileage SAAB. I was quoted $300.00 for the work and I brought the car in and left it for the day. I came back, Terry the owner said it was completed and handed me a bill for $450. I said I received a quote for $300 and he then lowered it to $300 and offered miss communication for the issue. I paid the $300. The car started immediately and I drove off. The first stop, it exhibited the same no start steering wheel frozen problem as before. You could gat it started by lifting the hood and disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery cable to reset the system. The next day I brought it back. The car was a block away and did not start again. After waiting in the lobby for at least ten minutes with no acknowledgement, their lead service guy talked to me. I asked him if someone could drive a block and come take a look at the problem real time. I guess they were short handed and the guy who had done the work was out of town. They basically responded I could bring it back again and leave it and they would do their best to find the problem but SAAB s were hard to get parts for and they couldn’t really guarantee finding the fix and not sure what the cost would be to take another look at it. I didn’t get the feeling they were really interested in helping me. So I left after spending $300 with the car still not fixed and decided I would not return since I didn’t feel comfortable with their being accommodating and up front to their customers. The reason I used Gulf Coast to begin with was convenience to my work and the great reviews they received. I just thought this review was worth reporting.

You cant always count on your car NOT breaking down but what you can count on is Terry Abbas and the entire Gulf Auto Clinic taking care of you like their own family, period! Another shop recently said I needed an entirely new transmission, these guys fixed the problem without a full replacement and saved me THOUSANDS...no joke! I cant believe golf auto had me wait for over a week now just to tell me your shop is too scared to put on big size tires. I would understand if this was my first time in the shop but golf auto has been servicing my vehicles for over two years including this one. This shop was the previous shop to put on my current tires. I can produce the pictures of you putting the tires on. Your manager says Im lying, wich I dont appreciate. I will publicly post your pictures of golf auto putting on my tires. Since I had to wait a week for your schedule to clear up, I am now in a very bad spot per I have to be at the airport in 2 days with no way of getting there. I loved golf auto and even brought you breakfast. If golf auto was scared you should have told me a week ago so I could find someone reliable to do the work. Bottom line golf auto: knew this car, put on the old tires, made me wait a week to just refuse my business, left me without anyway to make it to the he airport. You have lost my business, I feel as if I lost a friend. I expect this kind of disrespect from a bad business, not you guys.

Ive always been very apprehensive of car mechanics but WOW. The reviews are all true. My Subaru Forester has been plagued with a recurring random cylinder misfire code. After taking it to the dealership multiple times and spending close to $2,000 over the past year, the problem was still popping up and I had enough. After finding Gulf Auto Clinic through Google Maps and seeing all the positive reviews, I thought Id give them a shot. They were able to quickly diagnose the root cause of the issue, one that the Subaru Dealership wasnt even able to find, and was able to fix the problem once and for all. The price was extremely reasonable. Terry texted pics as the car was getting fixed so I could see for myself what the issue was. He even drove me home after I left my car there. My only regret is not finding this place sooner as I would have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Would HIGHLY recommend Gulf Auto Clinic for their honesty, transparency, and amazing customer service!

After breaking down on Cortez Rd., having AAA tow my Tuscon to Gulf Auto Clinic was the best decision. Dave took one look at the rod that went through the engine block and immediately starting working with Gettel to get it towed to them and taken care of. I did not have any idea that the recall that I had taken care of 1 month prior was supposed to have stopped this from happening! But Dave knew immediately and did all the leg work and paperwork to save me!!!!! You guys are the best in the biz to do that! HONEST, PROFESSIONAL and TRUSTWORTHY...I cant thank you enough!!!

What a relief to find a professional efficient friendly mechanic. We had to have the car towed after business hours yesterday. First thing this morning he called to let me know what was wrong, and how much it would cost to fix. The parts were in stock, the shuttle picked me up and I had the car by 1 pm. Terry even cleaned the fog off my front headlights.

I’ve been taking my SUV here since moving to the area and always get great service at fair prices. They are not the cheapest guy in town, but I’d rather pay for expertise and honesty any day. They’re keeping my 13 year old Yukon on the road with recommended maintenance and understanding I don’t want to put a huge amount of money into a vehicle I’ll be replacing soon. I appreciate that.

Can always trust GAC for quality repairs and a timely manner... Recently took my car in due to a misfire; had the problem fixed within a day AND cleaned for free. Really meant a lot to me.

I was having problems with a brake light and my cars acceleration after a dead car battery. I called Terry and he said to just come as soon as I can which was very nice because as a grad student, I did not want to spend too much time diagnosing a car issue and wait for several days for an appointment. Without even physically booking myself in, Dave came outside to check on my car and knew what the brake light problem was right away and patched it up with a screw and my brake and acceleration problem were fixed instantly. This was all within 5 minutes while my actual car dealership was quoting me and insane price just to even look at the car. These guys at Gulf know what its like for LECOM students and they took care of me very quickly and sent me off free of issues. If I ever end up having a more serious issue with my car, I would definitely come to these guys again. They are very upfront about any prices they would actually charge you for their service and their establishment was very clean. Thank you again Dave and Terry!

I feel totally safe in my car after having it serviced by Gulf Auto. Their entire staff conducts itself with honesty and integrity, I would not take my car anywhere else. They told me I needed an expensive repair, but informed me it was still under warranty. Terry helped me deal with the dealership to make sure my car was repaired at no charge to me. Kyle Roberts, owner, works to make sure this auto clinic provides professional, honest service. All the mechanics are highly trained to find what is really wrong with your vehicle. Try Gulf Auto for a free estimate for any repair, or just go to them for maintenance to make sure your car has a long life.

This is a great shop, the are knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Unfortunately for 10 percent of the population with pet allergies, this is not the shop for you. When I initially came into the waiting area, it smelled like dogs, which apparently they keep on the premises. Because of my severe allergy to dogs, this shop caused my eyes to swell up and was wheezing for two days. I wont be returning. Shame because outside of this, they really did a great job

This is the only honest shop in town. They have the tools, the talent and experience to get the job done. They will not just do unnecessary work and charge for it. Not only are they thorough but they are honest and will not perform any part of a scheduled maintenance that is not necessary even if it is the recommended time for the service. They are polite, courteous and genuinely nice people. They ask a fair price for good work. I highly recommend them for service on any type of vehicle, domestic or foreign.
