Best designed drybox available. The workmanship is spectacular. Todd was good to work with. He was super backed up with work but was very up front about it and he put on the list. Once he got to my project he was great at communicating and I got exactly what I wanted.

I ordered my Mad Cow Metal Works box just a month ago and received it today. I had told the team at Mad cow that I needed it for a river trip putting in on April 29 and they were not sure if they could get it done in time. But they did get it done and shipped on time which I really appreciate. The box is very well made and the welds look bomber. I am very excited to get this box on the river and by the looks of the construction I am sure that this box will return many years of great service. Thank you Mad Cow for getting it done in time for my first trip of the season.

I just took my first trip with my new Mad Cow frame and box. They worked super well! I’m thrilled with the design, adjustability and most of all with the craftsmanship. All the welds are uniform in height and width - clearly the work of someone who has honed their skills over multiple years. The frames aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for - high quality!When I ordered it they told me it would take 6 weeks, due to the COVID backlog. I was surprised by the wait time, but they promised to hurry. True to their word, the box and frame arrived within 3 weeks. It’s a small company and you can tell that they really care about high quality products and great customer service.

Todd was super easy to work with and provided help in the planning and shipping process (which was not straightforward for us at all). Todd made me a drybox. Said drybox was upside down for like an hour at the bottom of Crystal in the Grand Canyon. Flipped my boat back over and everything inside was dry as a bone. Its worth the money. His stuff is bomber.

I had an idea of what I wanted so I picked up the phone and called. Todd answered and spent a ton of time going over different options like sizes, tab heights, finish options...everything. He explained how the process worked and what the time frame would be. He kept me up to date during the build and even sent pics after the box returned from powder coating. The box arrived extremely well packaged and protected. Its now installed in the Maravia and we couldnt be happier. The color and finish were perfect. Penny Vein was the name of the color (I think). Dark bronze whatever it is and it looks spectacular. We added the accessory bag inside and the padded top cover. The craftsmanship is PERFECT. Thanks again Mad Cow!!

Todd and his crew at Mad Cow Metal Works are phenomenal to work with and offer the most superior products on the market! When we first decided we were going to invest in a raft set-up this company is the only one we had the confidence in to get us into the best raft and frame set up for our specific needs. Through Todd’s expertise as a world class river guide he knew all the things we needed even before we did- Haha- We bought a raft, full frame, dry box set up and opted for a flip lid in the front with a drop bag. We have young children and the flip lid and drop bag are crucial for a successful day on the river for us. Easy for the three of us to sit on why Dad is rowing and to access toys and fishing gear. The craftsmanship is top of the line- everything is carefully thought out which makes day or days on the river so much more enjoyable! If you don’t want to settle for second best then Mad Cow Metal Works should be your only choice. I own a frame, 4 dry boxes a set of captains boxes, a couple Hollywood boxes and a few smaller personal boxes. I’ve experienced no leakage in any of these boxes through multiple Grand Canyon trips as well as several other multi day river trips throughout the West. I have several friends who have also purchased frames and boxes from Todd and Jim and their as impressed as I am. If you value durability and craftsmanship, give these guys a call.

Great product, frame was delivered on time. Fit and finish exceeded expectations. Hands down the best frame I have ever owned. I especially like the large latches on the captains boxes and the strap slots on the dry box tabs. There are ample cut outs on the frame deck for straps. These are all indications of attention to detail and craftsmanship not usually found in todays market.

I ordered a full raft frame and dry box set up from Todd and crew. Their equipment is bomber! The frame is easy to put together and take apart and is incredibly functional. Place for dry box, cooler, and storage bag with seat on top. Best frame I have ever owned. I LOVE that the dry box is fully bear proof (and certified as such!). Essential for living in the west and keeping bears (and humans) out of trouble. This equipment will surely last for life and is worth every penny spent! I ordered a complete fishing boat (with boxes). It was delivered on time and at the price quoted. The workmanship was the best I have ever seen. I have been fly-fishing for over 30 years and seen a lot of drift boats. My new Mad Cow boat is the best I have ever been in.

Todd and Jim are true craftsmen. Im blown away by the quality of their work, not mention their willingness to build to suit. It seems a pity to treat their boxes and frames with neglect, but the beauty of their equipment is only surpassed by their ruggedness. And if you do flip, at least youll give the trout something to behold.

My new dry box arrived yesterday , it was well protected and came out of packaging looking perfect . Todd was very professional to work with and the quality of box was great . Where to begin......The team at Mad Cow Metal Works lead by Todd and Jim are amazing craftsman who go above and beyond constructing the best aluminum dry boxes and raft/fishing frames for outdoor pursuits period. The company has grown over the years and their pursuit to produce the highest quality gear just keeps getting better. These guys build the stuff by hand in Bozeman MT, (which if you live under a rock is the goddam mecca) where research, design and testing culminates with world class dry boxes, frames systems etc. for fishing and white water. I ordered a large dry box last year and have not been disappointed. It arrived meticulously packed with care and shipped to my doorstep. Hands down best decision Ive made for the raft. It is so clutch to have the confidence that all our gear on trips is safe, secure and always dry. Good luck ever rolling the top of dry bag closed again after you get used to the satisfying feel of turning the beefy latches shut. With the tabs on the sides it sits perfectly in the frame and is a great bench seat for friends and a rock solid casting platform like standing on the front of a flats boat. You cant go wrong with these guys, and if youre not careful you may need to get a humidifier for inside the box because their sh*t is bone dry (careful with the cubans).-Keep the black side down- (but if its up, dont worry because Mad Cow is up for the challenge)
