Salesman Earl Ward was very helpful. This was my first time purchasing a new car and I was worried about the experience, however, Mr. Ward was very help. He spoke to me in a way that I understood the new car buying experience and answered all of my questions without using jargon. I went in to look at trading in my pick up for a Cross Over. I was very clear to my salesman Earl Ward that I wasn’t going to buy anything that day.He showed me a Sportage and made me an offer I could not refuse.He was very helpful and not high pressure.Due to a paperwork snafu paying off my trade ( not a Kia issue) poor Earl was with us to 10:30 pm.He was awesome, friendly, helpful and great to work with through out the whole deal.Even at 10:30 when we were all exhausted ( again a bank issue not Earl or Kia) he was in my new Crossover explaining all the features of my airplane like dashboard.For a great deal and a awesome salesperson see my new buddy Earl Ward.

I received a safety recall in the mail stating that the fuel pipe in our sorento needed to be inspected because it may need to be replaced or tightened with proper torque. I contacted Kia of Bowies service department because a friend recommended them. I was told by the Kia representative that my appointment would take 3 hours (which Im absolutely fine with), but my car could not be seen until late in the last week September. If it were something minor, I would not have an issue. I see all the Kia cars on the road; Im sure your service teams are busy. But the letter specifically says if this pipe leaks, there is an increased risk for fire and injury. I cant afford to wait 43 days with the risk of my family bursting into flames. I think what bothered me the most was that there was no attempt to help any further. No let me check.... No wow, I know thats a long way off.... No let me offer another option.... I saw all the great reviews, and I wish I could add another one; but at this time I cannot. I gave 2 stars because they answered the phone.

The lack of communication from the business to consumer is absolutely substandard. I have brought my vehicle to this location for maintenance on two different occasions, once in the winter of 2019 and once this month. On both occasions, the service team displayed such a lack of communication. Every time I spoke with an employee (it was very difficult to contact anyone because the phone was rarely answered) for an update, I was ALWAYS the one to initiate the call/conversation and was never contacted by the service department, even going up to a week without any notifications on the status or estimated timeline of completion.The first time I brought my car there, they had it for a total of three weeks and this month, they had it for almost five days. I decided to grab my car this time before it turned out to be there for another two weeks like last time. When I actually was able to get through to an employee via telephone (both occasions), they would tell me they would check on the status and call me back or have someone else call me back. Never once did I receive a return call. Again, I would have to initiate the call/conversation to just try and get a simple update. A majority of times when I would receive an update, the employee would give me a false timeline and the car was never ready the day they said it would be. The issue isnt how long they have my car, the problem is that NO ONE COMMUNICATES WITH YOU! I would much rather have them be upfront and honest and tell me they will have my car for three weeks, as opposed to feeding me false timelines.When I brought the car there this month, I was/am still having electrical issues and I scheduled an oil change. In the almost five days they had the car, only one person looked at the car (employee said they didnt even start looking at it until two days after I had dropped it off) and they were never able to confirm a diagnosis and they did not even change the oil. To be fair, I did pick the car up without them confirming it was completed but they were not giving me any updates, they hardly answer the phone, they never return phone calls and we are moving out of state in a couple of weeks so I dont have time to leave my car with them, as I am unable to rely on anything they say.The reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the employees have been polite.

I have been bringing my car in for service intermittently since June 11, 2021. My interactions with the service representative, Devin, have been pleasant. However, I brought my car in for an issue of it stalling randomly. Ive paid a decent amount of money for you all to fix everything but my issue. My car has been in your possession for two weeks at a time throughout these past 3 months. My engine was replaced in March 2020 for the same issue. The first time my vehicle was fixed a crankshaft was replaced. Several days later, the issue presented itself again. The second time it was believed my air compressor was the problem, so it was replaced. 45 minutes after leaving the dealership, my vehicle stalled, hence not fixing the issue. I have been extremely patient, going without a vehicle every time I bring my car in. However, at this juncture my patience has run out. I refuse to pay another penny for you to fix all the issues EXCEPT the one I brought it in for. As stated, my interactions with Devin have been pleasant. My frustration is with the fact I keep paying to train your technicians on how to not fix my vehicle. As well as going without a vehicle every single time yall fix my vehicle. Please let me know what can be done to rectify this issue, because frankly it is ridiculous that for 3 months I have yet to resolve the issue but have been inconvenienced. And at this point I feel taken advantage of. Thank you.

My husband and I are loyal Kia owners and after recent experiences at other dealerships we decided to try Kia of Bowie. He went in after calling to make sure that someone was available to meet with us. We had in mind that vehicle that we wanted. We worked with Earl, who went above and beyond to make sure that we left happy new owners of the 2021 Sorrento. The process was pretty easy and the sales manager did an excellent job making sure that we were Highly satisfied with financing. The finance manager that we worked with was awesome, even started the paperwork while we were getting situated so that the process will be no longer than it needed to be. I booked an appointment for a test drive and when I arrived I was greeted kindly and referred to Rogayatu who would be helping me. Rogayatu was very helpful, explained many things and very patient with all my questions. I was not planning to purchase a vehicle that day, but asked for the best price on the Sorento I drove. I was provided a sheet with the list price, multiple other line items and a total. When I asked what the best price was, Rogayatu is not allowed to do negotiating and I was told Id have to wait for a manager. Thats where the experience gets bad.The manager was busy, busy, busy. So I asked for a follow-up call since I had an appointment to get to. 6 days later I have not received that price. In a day where we can buy cars completely online and remote, I dont know why anybody buying a vehicle would put up with this. Sadly, I had a similar experience at another dealer in Bowie. I will be making my new car purchase at a dealer who can not play games and waste my time.

I was just dropping someone off to pick up their car. Personally I would never buy from them. Brought a friend a couple years ago to buy a car here and Ive never witnessed a sales team like here. Worked in a dealership for over 10 years and if any of the sales dept did the things they did they would have been let go on the spot. Not to mention the salesman couldnt answer any of the questions about the vehicle that was being purchased.

Went there to trade in my old Dodge Journey. Met with Earl and Steve and was in and out in a couple hours and had a brand new 2020 Kia Soul with all the bells and whistles. If you’re looking for a new vehicle these are the guys you want to see. When I purchased my vehicle, I had negotiated heated seats into the sales price. So later my sales manager claimed I had an appointment at 9am to get the heated seats installed so I drove an hour from DC to get to Bowie and found out I had no appointment. The general manager did try to help the situation after I waited for an hour by giving me a loaner car but then the sales person would not drive my car back to me in DC, as promised, after it was done so I had to make two trips back and forth (a lot of time), when it was supposed to be done in one day. I understand that things happen but then, when my tags arrived at the dealership, the woman told me to come pick them up. I drove an hour from DC again and arrived to find out they didn’t have them (supposedly locked in an office they couldn’t access). The sales person took my contact info and told me she would have them delivered the next day. I never heard a word from her again. So I called and then they finally overnighted them to me. No apology or anything. Normally I wouldn’t be too upset about a one-off customer service issue but it’s clear that this happens regularly, which is why I wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from this dealership.

I was, originally, looking at the Honda Odyssey because my sister ranted and raved about hers. But I still wanted to shop around AND check out the Kia Carnival... One night, I walked into Kia of Bowie and EARL quickly came to the rescue. He showed me the Sedona and Carnival (the Sedona is more spacious than the Carnival btw) and I fell in love with the Sedona. Earl was extremely patient with me (I can be a hard bargain with my vehicle), he met and exceeded what Honda offered me, got my interest rate SUPER LOW, and even helped with move my stuff from my truck to my NEW VAN!!!! He even STILL checks on me and makes sure Im being taken care of with my extra warranties. EARL IS THE MAN, IN A NUTSHELL! Honda didnt even ask me if I wanted to test drive their van... That was the FIRST thing Earl suggested after he showed me the Sedona and Carnival... If youre thinking about visiting Kia of Bowie, ask for Earl... He plays no games!

A little backstory: my husbands Kia stinger window was smashed during a theft (after only having it for two months around March 4) We had been going back and forth with our insurance company and safelite, attempting to get my husbands window fixed. To no avail! (It was mostly Safelite than our insurance company)My husband and I went to get an oil change at Kia of Bowie. Everyone was really nice over the phone but we got a wrong quote for the total of the work. We were explained the difference in prices and for the misunderstanding we were given a discount. My husband decided to get a quote for the window repair while we were there since everyone was so nice and welcoming. We finally got the quote approved from our insurance company.Everyone was super nice when I called and ordered the part. I was having trouble receiving the invoice by email.. everyone was super understanding and worked with me with no attitude! After over two months of my husbands car not having a window.. we are finally getting it fixed. We are so happy and would recommend this Kia to anyone! The staff really made this window repair which was such a pain in the beginning to being so easy! I just wanted to say thank you to Chuck, Gerald, Adrienne, and Mariah! You guys were GREAT!!!!

They are friendly but the original offer they gave me for a 2021 Seltos Ex that I asked for no add-ons was over $31,000+ when the MSRP is only $25,390. This was done after I expressed to them that I did my research, yet they quoted me thousands more (up to $5,000) than any other offer I received for the same vehicle. After I complained and showed them other out the door pricing they reduced it to $27,000+. They are all about getting as much money as possible. I worked with Earl.

Earl was certainly nice and knowledgeable. He listened to what we wanted and didn’t pressure us into unnecessary and unwanted upgrades. There were some games with the numbers and pricing that if I wasn’t paying enough attention could have slipped by and typical car sales gamesmanship but nothing over the top. Not sure if this was end of the day end of the year mistakes or standard practice. Finance took way too long and again there were some numbers discrepancies/gamesmanship that I assume are probably industry standard but annoying nonetheless (Kia doesn’t have its own financing so they took us over to Toyota financing). Overall I’d go back next time I need a car which I guess is ultimately what matters.

After being treated horribly at DARCARS Kia, I called Kia of Bowie and spoke with Earl Ward, in sales. He invited me to come out and once there he made me feel comfortable with his conversation and the way he handled his business. Very friendly and didnt sugar coat my options or offer deals he knew he couldnt honor. It was straight forward sales and I appreciated that. He also took time to set my car up as far as Sirrus, the radio, bluetooth and telling me all the buttons and knobs were for before pulling off in my new ride. I didnt feel at all rushed! As a first time car buyer I was anxious about what to expect during the negotiating and buying process but Earl eased all of those overwhelming emotions. If you’re looking to buy a Kia, I strongly recommend Kia of Bowie and Earl Ward. In short, I got a fair deal on a great car.I’d particularly like to recommend working with Earl Ward, an experienced salesman there. Earl helpfully talked with me for an hour explaining the process, how they handle trade-ins, and what he liked about the car I was interested in (the Sorento, more on that later). When negotiating the price, I found Earl to be professional and up front about how the pricing would work. Let’s face it, negotiating the final sales price of a car is stressful and something where the power differential favors the dealer not the buyer. Still, having visited several Kia dealerships, I found Earl to be fair and interested in getting us to yes. If I buy another Kia, Earl will be my first call, and I’d suggest he be yours too.As for the car, I highly recommend the new 2021 Kia Sorento X-Line. It’s the top of the line model and is worth the extra money if your finances permit it. The all digital dashboard is exceptionally clear, it even shows you easily readable turn by turn instructions when you use Kia’s nav system; the surround view cameras make parking a breeze and show blindspots when you activate your turn signals; the kids love the captains chairs and the panoramic sunroom; the ride quality is exceptional and confident; and it even has A/C front seats. The engine has ridiculous amounts of torque and power, so it’s nimble in a way we didn’t find the Honda Pilot or Highlander to be. And the car comes equipped with loads of technology and safety features.To be sure, the Sorento is not 100% perfect. As many reviews note, while the Sorento has a third row, the final row feels tight and perhaps only appropriate for local drives with kids. The radio is solid, but not mind-blowing; the 10” touchscreen system could just a little more tweaking; and our gas mileage is not what the EPA estimated.All in all, everyone these days is focused on buying Tellurides, and for good reason. They are exceptional cars. But if you don’t need the size of the Telluride, then save yourself some money by considering the Sorento. You’ll get more technology and will pay less than MSRP, while you’ll pay a premium for a Telluride given it’s popularity.

AWFUL people. Called to confirm car was available and price with dealership. Said I only wanted car with 0% financing. Nice salesperson put me on hold to confirm price and financing. Drove one hour to find that they didnt have the car but could bring it. Was told car would be $5500 more with zero percent. Line manager blamed me for not knowing company policy. General manager first blamed me then threw salesperson under the bus. Actually told me he was going to terminate her. When I told him she confirmed price and financing with a manager he said How do you know what she did? Wow!

We just bought a car here. Earl was very friendly and helpful. He quickly matched a competing offer, and walked us through the sales process. When we took delivery, he walked us through the controls. Really nice guy.The vehicle prep team cut some corners. There were a few pieces of packaging and tape residue left on the interior, but it was trivial to remedy.

I dont understand why a car dealership would be open at night and barely have any lights on inside or outside. Who buys a new car in the dark? When I pulled up I thought it was closed. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to try to see the car I came to see. Very ghetto business and I would suggest you avoid it after dark.

I was told by the service advisor that a shuttle would be best due to Covid 19 and the extended wait time to have my oil changed and tires rotated. After waiting an hour, no one said anything to me so I asked about the shuttle and was told oh let me check on it. This was very poor communication and complete disregard of my time and safety. About 15 minutes later I was given an estimate of all the services my Sorento required include 4 tires. Being that it only had 25,000 miles on it, was serviced strictly by Kia of Bowie, and the tries were rotated by them every 5,000 miles, I was very surprised to hear this. I told both service advisors they should be covered under warranty. Surprisingly neither one of them knew anything about tire warranties which I know have been around for years. When I educated them about it, they said you will have to check your owners manual and paperwork. Being that I purchased my vehicle from Kia of Bowie, I expected them to be know what warranties my vehicle has and feel they were not very helpful whatsoever. I checked Michelins website and it states the tires have a 60,000 mile tread wear warranty. The service advisor gave me a written estimate that it would cost me $864.00 for four tires plus $1165.44 for an alignment. Clearly he was trying to gouge me and make as much money as possible thinking I was an ignorant consumer. Very unprofessional and unethical behavior.
