I agree with the reviews for Direct Care Administrators. It has been nothing been frustration from day one. Customer care is not professional and Ive learned to never trust their answers. The list of providers is not updated and it has cost me a lot of money. They do not pay promptly and it leads to bills much later in the future and a lot of confusion. I have tried to learn their system because I want to make the best health choices for my family and stay within the plan but it has been a very frustrating experience....over and over. It is the worst health plan we have ever had and yet I feel trapped as it is the only one offered through my husbands employment. I hope we get better options in the future. Ive lost trust in Direct Care Administrators and just wish I had better options for health care. It is so difficult to pay such a high cost for health care and get such poor service. Im paying more than I ever have and it has failed in comparison to previous health care plans.

Customer service is a joke! They give the run around and will give you conflicting answers when you call. Ive had medical providers call to verify coverage and copays just to get a bill 6 months later saying treatments werent covered. Customer service is quick to get hostile and confrontational when you call to get clarification and they are very rude and disrespectful. I would run from this company if youre looking for good coverage, good & helpful customer service and upfront, honest communication. RUN!

USELESS AS SECONDARY DENTAL INSURANCE! We signed up for this insurance as secondary dental knowing my kids would need braces. Well a year later when the time came it turns out they don’t pay anything if the primary coverage pays more than they would have. Basically the primary paid $2000 towards the $5000 orthodontist cost, and Direct Care is suppose to pay up to $1000 but because the primary paid more than they would have, they don’t pay anything leaving me with the remaining $3000 instead of $2000. Same thing for my Crown. My primary insurance paid 50% and direct care pays 60%, so instead of being completely covered like Myself and destiny office thought, they will only pay 10%, leaving me with 40%. In other words unless Direct care is your primary or you have terrible primary coverage you are just throwing your monthly premium payments at them for nothing. I still wouldn’t recommend them as a primary though. They are my husbands primary and they haven’t paid for his cleaning that was done 6 months ago. They are a nightmare to get a hold of and don’t return calls. I had to submit my primary insurances EOB’s for each claim by mail because they didn’t accept the electronic submission from the dental office. BOTTOM LINE PUT YOUR MONEY INTO A DIFFERENT INSURANCE COMPANY OR IN SAVINGS TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.

We have had Direct Care Administrators family plan for several years. They have been excellent for our family of 4. They pay claims promptly and if I ever have a question regarding coverage they are quick to explain and great to work with. They have always had the providers that I want to see on my plan in network. I wholeheartedly give them 5 stars and absolutely recommend them.

Customer service is awful and disrespectful. I highly do not recommend going through them for insurance. They lady on the phone was yelling at me and getting very frustrated even after being very nice to her. If you want an insurance that will actually take care of you and treat you with respect dont go through them.

They said that any urgent care even the out of network urgent care they can still cover. Went to many urgent care in our area and none of them accept the insurance at all, so I had to pay out of pocket expense for my visit. Their customer service reps sounds very unprofessional at all time, its either they sound like they just woken up from a nap or something. They also answer the phone like its just a regular phone call they answered from a friend. If I could give them ZERO ratings, I would.

Horrible care. I always get late fees from providers because they take so long to process claims. They never answer their phones or call back either. I’ve had many frustrating experiences with them.

IVR just loops you around and around and never does a human being answer their phone. Website they direct you to has error message and will not open....really?.....
