If I can give this place zero stars I would. When I went for the first time the lady was nice but didn’t listen to what I wanted. She kept repeating “this is not my first rodeo” not caring what I wanted. when I went the first time for a short haircut they messed up so badly I was crying. Even all my friends pointed out how choppy and uneven it was. (It was worst in person the pictures don’t justify it) And when I went to go fix it the second time they were just rude and didn’t even apologize! They were so sassy about everything. They were sassy about me not wanting to sit on a couch covered in spilled glitter saying “it won’t bite”. And when my friends were helping me articulate very nicely how to fix it she just interrupted and said “can I ask my client some question... if that’s okay with you” in a very rude and sassy tone. Worst place ever. Don’t go if you wanna cry from how ugly your hair cut is and how rude the people are to you.

Never have I ever have someone be so dedicated to me loving what I am getting. Joy spent over 3 hours making sure I love my hair. She is absolutely incredible & won’t stop until your happy. also, she did my first bikini wax ever & made it so painless and easy(: i’ll never go anywhere else!!!!

I came in to get more information on hair coloring but was not quite sure what exactly I wanted. I was hoping to be more informed about the process but instead was forced into paying for a product that never touched my hair and was not what I had asked for. I was truly looking forward to the experience but the way the situation was handled was unprofessional and a scam. If you are new to this process, I do not recommend this place.

Awesome place definitely worth checking out. The ladies at work there are hilarious and very helpful. Would definitely recommend anybody looking for haircuts, waxing, etc.

Loved this place! I am new to the area, and had gotten a haircut at a less reputable salon that left me in tears. I called Joy, and she fixed my hair and it is now beautiful! Also, such a cute salon with tons of awesome products in the boutique, both Joy and the other stylist were super sweet, very welcoming, and it was a great experience all around. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing high end experience, and the prices were very reasonable! I think I would have bought everything on the shelves if I had time to shop!

Quite steep, but a good cut

This beauty shop is the bomb. Joy made me feel so welcome as soon as I walked through the door as well as the other stylist. Cool atmosphere with nice products. Ashley did an awesome job with my new haircut.. Went from a bob to a spunky new do..Love it. Love it. Most definitely will be coming back.. Great experience, thank you Joy and and Ashley!!! 😁

MAJOR WORD OF ADVICE: If you want good customer service or a decent hair style, DO NOT GO HERE. I went for a partial highlight, and THIS happened. Photo below. She literally made me look like a stripey zebra, where about only 7 major slices of my BROWN hair was colored bright blonde. Then when I politely went in showing my hair, and asking for a refund, they would not give me one. They said I had to contact the owner if I wanted a refund. So I did! I was polite and showed the photo saying I needed to fix what they had wronged so would like my small $100 back so I could go somewhere better. SHE NEVER ONCE ANSWERED ME. No apology, not even a no im sorry. Just NOTHING. I emailed this woman SIX times with not one single answer to me. Not once. So rude and so unprofessional. I would have taken a no but I got nothing. I went in again to ask to speak to the manager and they assured me they would call her and tell her to reply to my email. To this day, no response. Absolutely terrible service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere good and polite.

Joy was a joy to get a cut from. She was sweet and talkative. I loved my haircut, which she really took time to get right and the wash after was very pleasant!

Not clean, owner not wearing Covid safe mask, only a sheer beaded covering .Icommented on the dirty towels and brushes near me, and asked about sanitary tools (because I was over 60, especially!) And was told that since I wasnt comfortable there they were unable to serve me.I agree that it would not have been safe to use their services.They should be reported, and I will be doing that next.

I had an amazing experience here. I came in to get about 7 inches off of my hair and it was done beautifully. The hairdresser was very funny and we had a great conversation.When I went to pay, my card got declined (super embarrassing) but they were totally understanding and let me pay over the phone a couple hours later. Great management and atmosphere! 5/5 :)

Very disappointing. The first time I scheduled my appointment a month in advance - the dealy was only hour...and my appointment took about five hours since the owner cut and did services for at least five other people. Giving a benefit of a doubt (it was Saturday) and I liked the end result and the price was reasonable.For the follow-up, I scheduled an appointment three weeks in advance, I took a day off, drove for an hour, and came right on time - to learn that the owner cant take me - no phone call, no apologies. If you have lots of time to waste, Salon Liquid is your place. Otherwise, skip a headache and find someone else.

Kym, is probably the best stylist!For mens haircut no question in my lifetime the best! I only let her touch my hair and always go to Liquid Salon. I recommend showing a picture of the haircut you want. Kym is straight forward and down to earth.Liquid Salon is also an awesome place. The more you go the more you fall in love with the people and salon. A community of its own. I go in and they always are welcoming, where everyone says hi and bye.

Joy is an absolute legend when it comes to hair color and highlights. She consistently gives me ash blonde hair that retains its color for months. Its about time I give her a review since I have been coming to her for 2 years (after paying triple the price elsewhere for botched highlights). On top of it all, Salon Liquid has a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere that offers a variety of services.

Adorable, quirky, homey fun salon in Boulder. All of the staff at the salon are incredibly welcoming. Joy is extremely knowledgable, and is clearly an expert. I came into her salon after I turned my hair blue trying to dye it into a silver/gray color myself. She was super diligent and detailed and made sure I walked out of the salon with the exact color I wanted. Everyone at the salon clearly works closely as a team and it seemed like they were able to give everyone a seamless and personal experience. Salon Liquid, Joy and her team are exactly what I want out of a hair salon.... expert quality, great products, casual atmosphere and great service. Only place to go in Boulder.

My favorite hair dresser in the world works here (Donna Davis). I love going in to get my hair done. I always leave feeling refreshed and beautiful! What I love about Donna is I can go in there and say do whatever you want, and instead of groaning like many in the past, she smiles and works her magic! Joy has been doing my hair for 3 years now. Shes seen me through several pretty drastic hair changes and result each and every time is top notch. Joys attention to detail is second to none. That goes for the head of hair she is focusing on as well as all the other clients in her salon. Theres no technique she cannot do nor hairstyle she cant achieve. Shes super fun to talk to too!

Please don’t waste people’s time and say your open when your not. I had to drive around 4 times to get parking space just to find a little dog staring out the door and a note saying your closed. Disappointing because your salon is adorable.

I have been going to Salon Liquid for the past five years. The owner of the salon, Joy, does my hair and she is excellent (to the point of me trusting her more than myself when it comes to my hair). But when Joy has not been available, I have worked with several of the other stylists and they have all been wonderful. I really appreciate that the Salon tries to work with my schedule and get me in when I sometimes call last minute (although I wouldnt recommend doing this often because it is a BUSY salon). I also really appreciate how much fun I have when I go there - my time there really feels like a little vacation away from my every day experience. Joy is hilarious, warm, professional and talented and I think she expects that of her staff as well. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment there!

I cannot believe this place has four star average. My haircut was so bad that the owner had to come over and fit it. I am not being a diva, the haircut was supposed to have the longest part in the front and she gave me bangs! I cried!!!! She also did not know how to cut an uneven bob! Please save yourself and never go to this place, it has left a longterm scar.

Celia at Salon Liquid was everything I needed from a bridal hairstylist and more! I chose this salon for my bridal hair because I’ve been there a few times to cut my hair cut and I just liked it! They were professional in booking my hair trial and day-of appointment, and didn’t mind that I’d waited until the wedding was only a few weeks away to set those appointments up.When you go in to Salon Liquid, you are greeted immediately by everybody there (but not in a scary way), including the salon dog Frannie, who is an adorable tiny poodle. Somebody offers you a beverage before whisking you into your chair. Celia and I chatted about my wedding plans, dress, accessories and the overall look I was going for. She did a masterful job at my trial and I was really happy with how my hair looked and held up. Then, on the day of, she somehow did EVEN better. She responded easily and immediately to any concerns I had like, “too flat here” “there’s a funny bump there” “can we try it like this?” and made me feel like I was getting a truly customized experience, built to fit my face, my hair and my overall look for the day. I got so many compliments on my hair, and I felt so beautiful all day. I woke up the next morning and my hair was still curly!Selena at Salon Liquid also did my mom’s hair at the last minute, and I was stunned all night by how amazing my mom’s hair looked. Selena was also phenomenal and did great hair. And my mom is not great at giving direction, but I know Selena gave her exactly what she wanted anyway.I have no hesitation in recommending Salon Liquid to anybody looking for a cut or a style, especially for a big important day like a wedding! I have been getting a haircut with Celia for almost two years now. I actually followed her from a previous hair salon because I finally found someone that can do an amazing fade! The atmosphere at Salon Liquid is great and the stylists are very talented so I highly recommend the place for mens and womens haircuts.

Needed a cut but wasnt sure what I wanted. I always tend to keep my hair long, but i was thinking of a shorter cut as my hair needed it! This can be terrifying if youre like me and find comfort in your long locks. Joy gave me excellent suggestions and transformed my mop into the best haircut Ive ever had! Shes a magician. Will definitely be returning.

Kelli B is the best barber in the world! I have never better customer service as I did when visiting Kelli. Salon Liquid was a great experience, specifically with Kelli. Kelli is a trained barber, and is able to handle much more than the standard haircut, including everything that your hair needs might entail, to services specifically geared towards men. Her station is always as clean as possible, and I have never seen her without a smile on her face. Kudos to Kelli!

I gave this spot two tries. I really wanted to like it...however, I dont think they know what they are doing... the women left my color on too long and fried my hair. The hair was virgin so its not as if it was already damaged. Im very sad at the condition on my hair, and wouldnt recommended this salon for color.

I had a bunch of ideas what I wanted to do with my hair and she just started her magic and it turned out so beautiful. I had high expectations and she just went over the top. My hair is thin and somehow she made it looked thick and beautiful. I got so many compliments, I felt and looked like a celebrity.A couple weeks before the wedding, she did a facial and it was amazing. My face never looked so clear. She uses top of the line products and she really gets in there and gets those zits and clogged pores. In the past I have spent a lot of money on facials and peels and never have I had the results that she does. And its only $45!! I cant believe how reasonable her prices are. She could charge so much more but she doesnt . On top of all that, she waxed and dyed my eyebrows. People in the past have really messed my eyebrows up so I was hesitant but needed it done for the wedding. Omg!! My eyebrows have never seen their full potential till her. She died them the same exact color as my hair and their shape was so sexy.Salon liquid is a one stop shop for beauty. She does it all at super reasonable prices. Usually when prices are this cheap, theres a reason. But not here! I recommend this place to everyone I know.

I have been coming to see Joy Sanchez Dixon at the salon for the past 13 years, and here are some of the main reasons why I am a staunch loyalist:1) I always get a Saturday appointment, and she has never once cancelled2) Consistent and detailed work - my hair is a bleach re-touch every 4 weeks and it always comes out perfect. I swear...Joy does the best blonde in town!!!3) Free parking on the weekends in the parking garage4) And last, but probably most important to me, is Joys cheerful, uplifting personality...she always keeps me laughing and every appointment is like visiting a dear friend.

I love coming here! The vibe is great and Joy, the owner, does amazing work and has a great energy about her! So much fun to come in here :)

Had my haircut this weekend at Salon Liquid and I love how my hair looks. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly.

About a month ago, I walked in for happy hour, and got a great cut that still gets lots of compliments. I was in hair despair when I walked in; I was growing out an undercut for a few months and finally could not stand how ugly the bottom half of my hair looked. I walked in and right away spoke with Alden, I believe (sorry to have forgotten his name but hes from NY) about what I could do. He took a look, saw a solution and told me to sit down and started working. I trusted his style suggestion and he totally fixed the ugly mess I had. One month later, its a superb, very cute & flattering cut that looks great as its growing. I will definitely ask for him again.

I have never written a review on the internet!! But my experience at Salon Liquid was so exceptional that I was compelled to share it with others. I have been going to this salon on and off for about 10 years (when it was Zing also). The only reason it was on and off was because I had a friend who did my hair at home, and she moved to Texas recently. I have consistently had great experiences here. Recently I went to their happy hour and Kayleigh did my hair. She was awesome. She did exactly what I wanted with my hair, she was interesting to talk to, and it was just overall a wonderful experience. Also, I have a neck problem (fused neck), and they are the only place Ive been to where you can lay down while they are washing your hair without having to bend your neck back. It was fabulous! This is definitely the salon for me and I urge you to try it too!!

Part of being a business owner is standing behind your work and the work of the people you hire. Not once but twice now I have had a bad experience at Salon Liquid—I am not someone to post negative reviews (this is my first) but I would never recommend this place. While I will acknowledge having had good experiences here, the last two times were both awful, and the owner could not have been ruder or taken less responsibility than she did this past time. They do not stand behind their work, and do not treat customers with respect. Spend your money elsewhere, and save yourself the headache and frustration that comes with the terrible customer service here.

Salon Liquid is the best! I have tried other places in Boulder to get my hair done but I never leave as happy as I do at Salon Liquid. When my mom comes in from Pennsylvania we always make a girls date with Joy to get our blonde highlights. We are particular about our blonde and Joy does an amazing job!

I have been going to Joy with my hair for 6-7 years now and have no plans of changing. Life has taken me down new paths, but I drive from DTC all the way to Boulder because I know that Ill walk out of the salon LOVING my hair and gaining inspiration from Joy. She makes me feel so cared for in the few hours Im there every 3-4 months and its obvious she has a passion for service.

I went in for a quick trim and the stylist decided she wanted to flat iron my hair first, with a flat iron turned up way too high ... and fried my hair in the process. I realize I shouldve questioned the flat ironing, because thats not normal, but I just trusted her as shes the professional. I did go back afterwards and they tried to add keratin and do a brazilian blowout, but my hair is still damaged and now its breaking off/falling out. Im pretty devastated. Im going to a different salon to see if they can salvage it. I did really appreciate them trying to fix it, but the damage should have never occurred in the first place ... especially as all I wanted was a trim. :(

The salon workers were so rude to me, not only that when my friend got a haircut, they gave very bad razor cuts on her neck and didnt even apologize. Especially after they gave her a really bad haircut the first time.

Went for a mens cut. Had a picture of what I wanted and got the opposite of what I showed the stylist. She pretty much ignored what I wanted and cut it her way.

Have been in multiple times for a mens cut and have had no complaints.

The best waxing I have ever had!

Im very particular about how my hair is cut but with barber Kelli Burris I have no worries she is extremely skilled at what she does and her personality is second to none.

PLEASE READ: I went in to get a simple trim with some layers and to dye my hair ombré! What did I get? I got uneven trim, the left and right side of my hair didnt even even out and the ombré was not gradual, it was terrible! I cant even begin to explain how horrific it looked! Also, the hair stylist was very rude and wouldnt even really talk to me. She went on and on about how sick she was and seem under the influence of marijuana. I am very disappointed in my experience and hope you take my advice and find a different salon!

Im sorry to do this, because everyone there was nice, but, here it goes:I made a last minute appointment because I couldnt take my faded, orange, balayage anymore and I needed a cut and all-over, single process color to get me back to my roots. I had Kaleigh as a stylist. She was pleasant, did a good color, and talked about how she learned how to cut hair from an old-style barber. I asked for my hair to be texturized a little to make it more manageable, because I have A LOT of hair. I trusted her...even though I expressed hesitations about the razor and thinning shears she pulled out. Now, I have LESS THAN 1/3 of my hair left--especially at the ends! I used to have luscious thick hair that barely fit in an elastic hair tie, and now I have to wrap it around three or four times to secure it. It is SO THIN. I feel like all my hair is gone...and because its texturized, it will take FOREVER to grow back. Please proceed with caution, and be careful...if you say you want a little weight taken out, its possible nearly ALL your hair will be gone!
