We moved to Boulder in Sept and stumbled upon this local ski shop. My husband and daughter rented good quality skis and boots for a reasonable price. The fitting service was great, and the employees are knowledgeable and nice. After a few days on the slopes in Nov, my daughter’s boots started to hurt, and Crystals happily swapped them out for another pair that fit better. We also ended up renting snowboard boots for my son, which also resulted in an extensive readjustment to his bindings. The staff expertly adjusted the bindings at no additional cost. This is where the customer service exceeds our expectations. We just returned on a very busy day needing another binding adjustment due to us taking the board to another shop and having the bindings changed. The owner of Crystals (Justin) very graciously adjusted the bindings at no cost and turned down my offered gratuity. We had a very nice chat while he spent about half an hour working on the board. We really appreciate the kindness and excellent customer service and will continue to use this local ski shop for our winter sport needs. Thank you Justin!

This is the only place I bring my skis since moving to Boulder 7 years ago. They do a fantastic job on tunes (best in Boulder in my opinion.) After a little mishap with some new skis that I brought here, Justin the owner did everything he could to make it right and then some. He (and the rest of his staff) truly takes care of his customers and every ski that comes into the shop. This is the only place in Boulder I would recommend you bring your skis if you want exceptional customer service and exceptional service on your skis.

Crystal Ski Shop is great, the staff in the shop are very knowledgeable. They have mounted bindings on a few pairs of skis for me as well as done tune-ups. My brothers also have had excellent experiences in the shop - very thankful to have such a good shop in town to rent from as well as keep my skis in top shape! Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Crystal Ski Shop. While visiting Boulder for a month we rented from them twice. They have great gear and incredible customer service. I ran into an issue with my snowboard boots and Christian went above and beyond for me. These guys are great.

Came in to get a core shot on my skis fixed and get a basic tune up. The work that was done on my skis was truly above and beyond. Feel like I would have to pay double what I payed here to get the same quality somewhere else.

Ive been going here for a few years and I now never take my gear anywhere else. The staff is incredibly talented and they always do great work on my skis. I once had a problem with the warranty on my bindings and the manager called his rep right then and there and sorted it out on the spot. Do yourselves a favor and give these guys your business.

This local independent ski shop is a hidden gem. The rental prices are very reasonable, the staff is super nice, and the hours of operation are better than the competition.

Very kind and accommodating staff. I rented two floating tubes for a day, which was a very easy and fast experience. However, it started raining a few hours after renting, and we had to return them. The manager and one of the staff were kind enough to give out a free rental! Totally great place, Ill definitely be doing business with them again.

This is a great shop with very helpful staff. I went in and picked up a few things I needed and they helped me get my board adjusted.

In 3 rental and 1 service experience, I have been delighted with the crew at this shop every time. They greet you when you walk in, pay close attention to your feedback about fit and style of skiing when preparing rentals, and they are patient with questions, no matter how busy the shop is. My board came back from service set up well and thoroughly cleaned. Plus, the prices are great - and the discount you get on service when you have season-long gear rentals makes it all even better!

For 15 years, I have been astonished at the extremely high quality of customer service that Crystal Ski shop provides. They are so helpful, kind, sincere, skilled and knowledgeable. You can see that they truly love their jobs! This time in, I brought a bit of a complicated problem to them. My sister rented skis for her and the family when they visited. The boot fitters were really patient and knew what they were doing. At first my sister wanted a bigger size, but the women helping her suggested she kick her foot back and buckle it and it was the perfect fit. We were really happy with the price - we booked online and got a better deal than the regular price. My sister and her husband kept talking about how everyone there was really nice and knowledgeable.

Always a great experience at this local shop, knowledgeable and friendly. Having tried a few, IMO this is the best option around for seasonal or short-term rentals in terms of quality, cost and service.

Im a new skier and came here to get a seasonal ski and boot rental to avoid spending $$$ every trip to the mountains renting at the ski resorts. Everyone in the shop was friendly and Justin, the owner, helped me get my boot fitted and gave me pointers to get my boot properly tightened up and things to look out for; the prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommend!

Wow. Whomever manages the staff here is doing an excellent job. Took my skis in to have bindings mounted and was greeted by multiple friendly and knowledgeable folks. Their communication throughout the process exceeded my expectations - frequent and courteous. They even gave me a call to let me know my boot was likely under recall. Crystal is a welcome reprieve the often elitist boulder sports scene. I will be back.

I have always had a great experience every time I have come to Crystals. The staff has been super friendly and knowledgeable and always seeks to help me as best they can. With the tuning and equipment upkeep I really feel like they take the time and make the effort to ensure that everything is calibrated and tuned properly. Especially compared to some other stores around town nobody really puts in the same level of care as Crystals does.

Coming in from the east coast and only had one day available to ski. I spoke with the shop three or four times to get things arranged, figure out how to work my own boots, which skis to demo, etc. Loved being able to pick up the day before and drop off late in the evening, didn’t cut into time on the slopes. Great shop, highly recommended!

Super affordable pricing for gear and rentals! Picked up clearance goggles for dirt cheap; and a helmet rental was only $5, as opposed to the double-digit prices youd see anywhere else. Can be busy in the evenings, but all ski shops around here are. Real nice dudes running this place too.

Rented out a lot of AT gear for the family. Had a great time. On the return I had some concerns about the billing, gave them my number to have a manger call me. Sure enough I was charged more then quoted, the manger called me three times to make sure my money was returned. Her name is Nina and her word is Gold in my book.

Best customer service of any shop Ive ever been in. These guys rock.

My husband and I have been to this rental store many many times. Our past visits have always been frustrating from the lack of motivated employees and crowded atmosphere. However tonight we went and noticed a huge shift in employees helping all customers and not just hanging around chatting. Nina, the manager was working and really meant business all while being kind and helpful not only to the customers but with her employees. She really wiped that place into shape and it was finally a pleasant and quick experience.

Awesome people helped the two of us rent skiis, boots, and poles in 15 minutes or less. Ive never skied before so I had no idea what I was looking for, but they knew how to fit me quick and gave me some helpful tips.

Just wanted to update this review after the owner of Crystal reached out to my husband and I. Not only did he refund our rental fees after hearing about our experience, he also gave us a free rental for the future. And he made the effort to reach out and make things right. Good customer service and willingness to listen to feedback go a long way with me and we will definitely give them another try.------Rented skis from Crystal on Thursday. Despite making reservation ahead of time, employee couldnt find our rentals and seemed confused. When we got our boots, mine had a broken piece of plastic in the tongue which was putting pressure on my foot, was assured that it wouldnt be a problem after I pulled the tongue out and repositioned. After skiing on these boots for a day, i had a bruise on the top of my foot from the defect in the boot. When we returned our equipment on Sunday, the woman checking us out accused us of scratching the bottoms of the skis, and wanted to charge damages. We skied in perfect powder conditions on green slopes. Fortunately for us, her technician co-worker agreed and said that there was no damages to the skis caused by us.

This is the best ski rental and tuning shop in Boulder - by far! While the shop may not be as fancy as some of the other glitzy shops in town, the service here is unbeatable. They have gone out of their way to accommodate my needs and I will take all of my gear to them in the future. You will be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. In the many years Ive been going to this shop for rentals and service, I have never encountered the snobbish attitude that you will find at every other gear shop in town.

The lines can be long as this is a popular place. The people are very nice and helpful. Its also worth noting that the parking lot can be full, sometimes you have to park over by hazels.

If you own a Never Summer, bring it here for tunes! The Techs at this shop know what they are doing. Sounds like they have done their homework and made sure they are knowledgeable about the different types of edge profiles and side-cuts.I usually do all my own tuning but after a few rough days on the mountain this year, my board needed some help. Brought it in for a full tune and it rides as good if not better than it did the first time i rode it.Nice job guys, keep it up. oh, yeah, they are super nice and friendly too.

This shop goes out of their way to make sure you have the best time on the mountain. I was in Boulder before and after a ski trip at Keystone. The rates were so much better at Crystal than around the resort. Then I had a problem with my equipment - my ski binding was loose and I lost my ski down the mountain. They could have been difficult to work with after that happened but they were very understanding, and I think they went out of their way to help me with the problem, even though their ski was broken. Every person in their staff was great from the bottom to top. Will definitely return!

Great place to rent if going up to Eldora. They will allow you to rent the evening of the day before for the same price and stay open until 2000 for drop off. Prices are very reasonable!

This place is super crowded. Maybe thats because its awesome, but it makes for a more stressful experience. A little too chaotic for me. We came in to purchase some goggles, and honestly could have used a little more help than we received. One of the pairs ended up being too small for any of us, which I think an attentive staff member could have noticed before making the sale (the packaging had no such indication). In the past, weve rented here, and it was fine, but still very crowded. You definitely dont want more than a few customers in here at one time.

These guys have the cheapest ski, snowboard and snowshoe rentals in Boulder. You can also return your one day rentals up until 9am the next morning so youre not rushed.
