After getting a recommendation to come here for laser hair removal, I tried to buy a gift certificate for my daughter to get a series of treatments for Christmas. I called on the phone to select the best package, and after discussing the treatment options, I went into the salon to purchase the certificate. However, upon entering the salon, they realized I was black and told me they couldn’t do services on black skin. Apparently, this salon has chosen to invest in equipment that only allows them to service the white portion of our population.I’ve lived in Boulder for 40 years and it’s disappointing to me how many businesses in this area do not choose to invest in the equipment or training that would allow to them to do treatments on black skin and hair. I realize we’re a small portion of the population, but we have money too.If this company is choosing not to purchase equipment that allows them to service people of all colors, they should be transparent about that on their website, on their menus, and over the phone. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a laser that could only work on white skin, and if I had known I would have asked if they had one that worked on all colors, but I shouldn’t have to ask. I should be able to assume I can walk into any business that offers services to the public and not be turned away because of the color of my skin.Thankfully, the nice girl at the desk referred me to Aesthetic Solutions in Lafayette, who DID invest in the lasers that work on black skin, and they have been GREAT! Shame on Barris laser for choosing not to offer services to black and brown people.

I have had nearly all the services at one time or another with Barris Laser for 10 plus years. I am treated like their best client and feel like a friend. They are very consistent, reliable and reputable. I love the results of all the services! I feel late 40s in my mid 50s! Thanks to all the ladies at Barris!

Easy to make an appointment, always ready when I arrive. Ann makes a rather uncomfortable experience -electrolysis - easy to handle. She is quick and efficient. Very pleasant people to work with - I am very happy with the results. after losing the lovely lady who waxed for me I had to turn to something else because of the very painful experiences with other technicians. Anna makes my electrolysis experience far less painful as well as waxing than my previous waxing - except for Kristen - who I dont have a contact for anymore. But she did me a favor by allowing me to seek alternatives. Very happy with this business and the people there! Highly recommend.

I have been going to Barris sporadically over the past 3 years for laser hair removal and am never short of completely satisfied! I have friends who have gone elsewhere for laser removal and have had awful experiences in comparison. Super welcoming and friendly staff makes sure you feel comfortable and the results are always top notch! Will continue to go back for ALL hair removal needs!

Baris Laser has a really good program with the IPL. Im often a bit nervous about getting this kind of treatment. Fortunately, when you walk in the door, you are exposed to a nice calming environment that helps relieve any tension you might have. Jaymie is a true professional who guides you through the treatment and follows up with a green tea masque that is pretty wonderful.

Had a really awkward and embarrassing experience here, where the person who was going to do my laser hair removal basically announced to the whole waiting room what I was about to have done. They were also not fastidious about the treatment, which is more than annoying when it is so expensive to begin with. This used to be a good place to go, but somehow (maybe because they have forgotten that it can feel vulnerable and scary to go through any kind of beauty treatment), there is this cavalier and sarcastic energy present now. Would love to find a better laser hair removal place in Boulder!

She understands that beauty is sometimes a little painful and supports a great experience along with a warm family like atmosphere. I appreciate their business model and love that they are always offering new approaches to beauty. They know me and I feel like a part of the business. My experience at Barris Laser was ok. The laser treatments were awesome. I got my full bikini done and it was the best decision I ever made. I still need a couple more treatments done eventually but I believe I look around boulder for better prices since more places have opened up or wait for a laser groupon. Love deals!!

I had been to Barris once for a facial several years ago, which I really enjoyed. When I started investigating laser hair removal, I thought of them first. So far I have had three treatments - one on my underarms and two for my bikini area. Im very happy with the initial results!When I went in for an initial consultation with Dana, she made it very clear as to what my expectations should be regarding how many laser sessions I would need to fully remove the hair in these two areas, and she also was very patient with my questions about the procedure.My first laser session was with Dana, and my second session was with their new esthetician, Sami. Both of these women were very professional and nice, and did a great job of both distracting me with conversation during the slightly painful treatments and still managing to check in on my comfort level often. The salon is nicely decorated, clean, and calming. Its also great how they run frequent specials on all sorts of different treatments like waxing, laser, facials, etc. I definitely recommend them!

I drive from Denver to Boulder every 3 months to see Dana and she is the absolute best. I cant recommend this place enough!
