The instruction at Mindfish is thorough and highly applicable to real ACT/SAT tests. Susan was my tutor for the ACT, and I could not be more grateful for her help, I learned countless strategies and ways to maximize time while test taking. I felt more confident than ever going into the ACT. I was also able to greatly improve practice test scores in all areas of the ACT with her help. I highly recommend Mindfish for any kind of test prep.

We used Mindfish to prepare my son for the ACT. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Bill was a pleasure to work with, answered all of our questions, and remained engaged throughout the process. My son’s tutor, Sophia, was amazing. She held him accountable and ensured that he was understanding and retaining the material through a logical and progressive program of study. The team was highly professional, organized, knowledgeable, responsive, and honestly was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I recommend them with the highest confidence.

I worked with Ryan Krug for my SAT, and it was truly beneficial as I got a score on the SAT I am really proud of. Through dedicated practice and review after taking their provided SAT practice tests, I was able to formulate my own strategy and mindset for the SAT that was constructed through the guidance of Ryan. He was extremely kind and easily accessible for any questions along with being available through online communication. The entire system is well-defined and the procedure is simple and not ambiguous. I highly recommend taking this for SAT prep as the quality and attention to the individual is amazing.

We had a fabulous experience working with Alex at Mindfish Boulder. My son was more than prepared for both the ACT and SAT Math 2 subject tests. Alex laid out a rigorous, high expectations test prep plan and my son worked hard to meet all the requirements and then some. We were so pleased with the recent ACT results and my son left the Math 2 test this past Saturday feeling confident as well. Alex was patient, thorough, and organized. Thank you so much!

Hello,If you are looking for a quality test preparation company, I would strongly advise choosing Mindfish. Before Mindfish, I used various other test preparation methods (including Khan Academy and a study book). Although this self-directed practice did raise my score, I felt that my progress was slowing and that my scoring potential had reached a plateau. You can probably already see where this story is going, but my next step was to select an individualized study package from Mindfish. The whole process was incredibly personalized; after finalizing the purchase, the folks from Mindfish spent time learning about my testing strengths and weaknesses, my learning preferences, and my scoring goals to create the best possible instructor pairing. I ended up working with Brian for roughly four months, during which time I learned new strategies to increase my efficiency and accuracy, received personal feedback on mistakes, and acquired plenty of invaluable practice. Perhaps most importantly, Brian was highly invested in my testing development and took the time to prepare for lessons and answer questions outside of class time. He also made sure that I practiced good study habits. For example, after completing all of the tests that Mindfish initially provided, Brian shipped two new batches of tests to ensure that I prepared as realistically as possible. The result of this process defied my wildest expectations. After months of continual improvement, I raised my score by 80 points, ultimately achieving a 1600 on the SAT. Overall, choosing Mindfish was a phenomenal investment, and I am incredibly grateful to Brian for helping me achieve my academic aspirations.

I dont even know where to begin I have so many great things to say about Mindfish! For starters, our sons ACT score improved by several points in all subjects after one prep package earlier this year. Since he is interested in attending a more competitive school where the ACT scores averaged in the high 20s-low 30s he decided to take a few more refresher classes to see if he could improve upon his score while also having it supplement a lighter online academic schedule. Mindfish went out of their way to accommodate his work and school schedule while providing an abundance of support and strategies. We would recommend Mindfish (especially Hailey) to anyone that wanted to support their child in any way academically. They truly are the best of the best!

I am not a very good test taker. I get nervous and tend to second guess my skills so much. Mindfish was so very helpful for me. I didnt think I would be able to get a good acceptable score on my ACT, but with their help my score jumped up seven points which was crazy from where I started. I am so thankful for all that they did!

Overall, Mindfish did an alright job preparing our high school junior for the ACT. This rating reflects the cost of the program, the lack of support during COVID, and the instructor not being great. I think your outcome is highly dependent on which teacher your student has, and we only saw a small score increase despite starting with a higher than average baseline score. Our child told us that when a different instructor taught the class, they learned much more than their typical teacher who seemed to not go into as much detail or problem explanations as the sub did. For the cost, I think money may have better spent elsewhere, but some practice is better than none I suppose. Once COVID hit and threw ACT exams off-schedule, we didn’t receive consistent communication from Mindfish and only a few refresher courses were offered despite exams being cancelled. It’s common sense that it’s really important to keep all of this content as fresh as possible, so that was frustrating and I feel like because of lost time some of the investment into this program was lost. For the price, I really thought they would have put more effort into supporting students during that time. We ended up just finding an ACT tutor on Wyzant and that actually ended up being a lot more customized to our needs and seemed to provide a lot more insight into problem areas on the test. Overall, not terrible but also not very impressed. For our other kids we’ll be going with another program.

I have concerns regarding the same director as JimBoulderDad. I notice that MindFish acknowledges all of the positive reviews. It would be very powerful to acknowledge the negatives, and, what’s being done to background check employees working with our children. Ignoring myself and other parents concerns just leads us to believe that they are true.

Working with Alex at Mindfish, I was able to go from a 28 to a 36 on the ACT. He taught me how to manage my time, identify my weaknesses, and gave me the confidence to meet (and then exceed) my goals. Alex was so engaging and fun to work with. Thank you to the Mindfish Team for all of your support!

Great experience with Alex. He helped my teen’s confidence and pacing for the ACT. He was able to forge a respectful connection with my teen and provided great practical advice. I also very much appreciated Mindfish’s advice and information during all the COVID changes. I couldn’t get any info or help from ACT, but Mindfish provided frequent updates and suggestions that were incredibly helpful during a stressful and chaotic time. The structure and flexibility from Alex plus that additional support made the investment worth it for us.

My daughter worked with Jacob Riley in Boulder and I cant say enough about how much he helped her. She made so much progress from the first practice test to the real thing. We are thrilled and my daughter is feeling so much more confident about the college application process. Jacob was a great tutor and was the first person my daughter texted when she finished the test and when she got her scores. He was definitely invested in her success and we are grateful. The whole place is run so professionally and we highly recommend it!

We are so happy with how Mindfish helped our daughter. The practice test to determine if the ACT or SAT was a better choice was invaluable, and helped avoid more wasted time studying for the wrong test. With the individual tutoring our daughter increased her ACT score from 28 to 32 and not only improved her score but bolstered her confidence. Mindfish was worth every cent, my only regret is that we didnt find them sooner!

Every aspect of my experience with Mindfish exceeded expectations. The business co-owner, Ryan, took the time to understand my sons college goals and test prep needs, identify the tutor who might work best with him, and tailor a plan to increase his ACT score. The tutor, Austin, was awesome in every way. He connected well with my son, who actually looked forward to their weekly sessions, during which they solidified strong areas and worked on weaknesses. Austin reinforced the lessons by assigning homework with materials provided by Mindfish. When I emailed questions about the work or suggestions about motivating my son, Austin was quick to respond and open to ideas. The Mindfish package included practice tests at their offices, which I believe provided invaluable preparation for the actual test. Since results are what matter, it was easy to be thrilled when my sons ACT score increased by 6 points! As someone who works in college admissions and seen dozens of test prep programs, I can say with confidence that Mindfish is second to none.

I used Mindfish for ACT prep and only used three one-on-one hours, but got amazing results! I worked with Austin Kellogg at the Boulder location and found that he was direct, easy to understand, and incredibly helpful. I improved by four points on my ACT! I would strongly reccomend Mindfish over other test prep centers as they tailor the instruction to the student, and the instructor does not change over the sessions. Scheduling was also incredibly simple.

My son attended SAT classes and worked with AP tutors at Mindfish with much success. For the SAT, Mindfish helped him pinpoint areas in which to focus his efforts so he could use his preparation time productively. His AP tests included CalcBC, US History and both Physics APs, and in each instance, Mindfish paired him with a tutor with expertise in the content and the test. His efforts paid off with fantastic results! I highly recommend Mindfish for both SAT and AP test preparation.

My daughter had been working hard to study for the SAT/ACT on her own for almost a year using the study guides and free online practice tests. She was getting frustrated because her practice scores weren’t getting any higher and she couldn’t figure out why. She is an excellent student with great study habits, but she was having a lot of trouble figuring out why she couldn’t get through the questions before time ran out, and why she couldn’t figure out what some of the questions were asking. She asked me if I would sign her up for a class, so I started looking into some of the national chains like Princeton Review, Kaplan and Study Point. In my quest to find information on those programs, I came across Mindfish. I stopped by the office unannounced, thinking I’d be able to grab a flyer and ask a quick question or two, and was blown away by the friendly reception I received. Ryan, the owner, not only gave me a flyer with information on class dates and prices, but he sat with me for over an hour and answered every question that I had, and even some I didn’t know to ask. After doing my due diligence, I couldn’t find any good reason NOT to choose Mindfish over the other options.First off, the national chains offer very few (if any) in-person classes. They really push the “online learning” model, and insist that taking a virtual class from home is the way to go, when really, it’s just a way for them to sign up an infinite number of people to one class without the constraints of room capacity. They also don’t offer one-on-one tutoring as part of their base package pricing, and if you do choose to add the one-on-one tutoring option, it will also be done online. When looking at reviews for the other places, I found a lot of them written by ex-employees who complained about stressful work environments that included being given a lesson plan with no instructions, being hired to tutor despite their lack of training in the subject they were hired to teach, and having little, if any, ability to adjust the lesson plan if it wasn’t working for the student they were tutoring. At Mindfish, classes are all done in their office, by highly educated people with college degrees, and class sizes are extremely small (my daughter’s Sunday evening class had about 6-8 kids on any given day). On top of the weekly classes, each student meets with a tutor one-on-one once a week, to work on any subject or area that they individually need, and the tutors are then able to adjust their weekly classes to appropriately match where they’ve evaluated the learning needs to be for that week. They are not bound to a specific lesson plan, but do have specific methods for teaching each subject, as well as offering a lot of tips for working through the test methodically in order to complete each section on time, by looking for clues in the questions, and helping them recognize when they can use the process of elimination. This was especially helpful for my daughter, who struggled with time management, and the ability to sometimes recognize what type of question the tests were asking. When my daughter took her first practice ACT test, she scored a 27. Mindfish was honest with the fact that results rely very much on what your kid chooses to put into the class and their study time, and that they are not a magic pill that can promise a score simply by signing up. We went into it with a realistic expectation and hoped that the class would help my daughter to at least figure out a better strategy to taking the test that would help her complete it on time, and hopefully increase her score a little.I’m happy to report that she took her first official test and scored a 32. She now has an ACT score that meets the requirements for all the Ivy Leagues, and the most competitive Universities in North America (except Cal Tech), which was her goal, so we are extremely happy. Money very well spent that will pay off 100 fold in scholarships that she now qualifies for.

After working with mindfish Test Prep Boulder, all three of my sons scored in the 99th percentile of students nationwide on the ACT. We found one-on-one tutoring most effective, because it allowed the boys to identify and address specific areas that needed improvement. It also enabled them to develop a rapport with their tutor, so the process was a lot more enjoyable. Armed with mindfish strategies, they became invested in the quest to beat the test. My favorite tactic: On the morning of the test, they woke up early, showered and ran around the house two times to make sure they were alert. I recommend mindfish to anybody taking the SAT or ACT. The mindfish approach works!

Standardized test preparation is one of the biggest challenges I have ever had to overcome. Mindfish definitely prepared me for success on those exams, something that I have always struggled with. Because of their help, I have qualified for the National Merit Scholarship as well as earned commendable scores on the SAT and ACT that have allowed me to qualify for other scholarship opportunities as well as admission into prestigious universities. Their tutors are very good at targeting your weaknesses. For example, I worked with Khaled for a couple of months and his guidance helped improve my critical reading and English skills. Mindfish has helped both of my children prepare for SAT and ACT tests. The Mindfish method of combined group and private tutoring sessions are definitely the way to go. Their tutors are very knowledgeable about the nuances of the various test formats and how problems and questions should be approached. Most helpful is the time they take to get to know each student so that private sessions can be tailored to specifically address areas for improvement. Mindfish was the best decision my family could have made to raise my ACT and SAT scores. Day one they told us that the goal was to raise our ACT scores by 4 and our SAT by 300. Well they were wrong. They instead raised my ACT by 5 and my SAT by 350. Already receiving scholarships, mindfish has paid for itself. I highly reccommend mindfish to anyone of my friends who want help on the ACT/SAT. Tom, my teacher, was great and every class we learned exactly what we had to do to raise our scores. The homework was the right amount and again focused on the right subjects perfectly. The company gives plenty of practice tests so you can get used to the tests and see your growth. Overall I would rate my experience a 5/5.
