Nice apartment and good management. Also if you are student, it’s very convenient location bcz of grocery stores and all. A high rise building with 20 floors and after some of the floors, you will have amazing cityview of boston.

Hours and hours of waiting for the elevators. There are only three elevators for 300 units spread among 20 levels.***One doesnt work and the other is booked all the time for move-in and move-outs***Imagine just ONE elevator with the capacity of 6 people for 300 units.I am AFRAID of stepping out of the house even to throw the trash and get my food package from the lobby.

I cannot stress enough how much you should NOT live here. At least once a week there is no hot water, no heat, or no air conditioning. There are constant infestations of mice and bugs, and the office is hopeless in returning emails in a timely fashion. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I am confident that their office will respond to this comment with a frail defense, but I can attest after living here for a few years that this building has gone downhill.

I have been looking for a new apartment as I have been in the process of relocating to Boston. I was originally set on signing a lease here due to its price, location, and amenities. However, the leasing staff have been completely unprofessional during the process. After scheduling a virtual tour with them, they missed the meeting and it was difficult to contact them via phone and email to reschedule this tour. After an hour of finally reaching them, they rescheduled my tour to the following day and missed it again. After finally being able to schedule a virtual tour the third time around, they rushed through the tour and were very vague about the features and amenities. They were unable to answer basic questions about the views and renovation status of each apartment. In addition, they were very unresponsive when we would send out emails and had a lot of difficulty being able to reach them on the phone as our calls were being redirected. Its a shame that because of this they lost a tenant for the next 5-6 years. Their customer service is completely unacceptable, and I hope management resolves this soon so that future residents don’t have to deal with this.

Your personal property/mail is not safe here. Someone took one of my packages over a week ago, and the mail/security company identified the resident through their security footage. Even after identifying the resident, my mail still has not been returned after many days. Both the security company and I reached out to management multiple times and both of us were ignored for days. This morning management finally got back to me, just to tell me to “contact the security company” (who I had been in contact with this entire time). I am planning on filing a police report in the next few days to prevent anything similar from happening to residents here in the future. This mail was worth over $100...I am shocked that management has done nothing to help and am starting to wonder whether they are truly able to protect residents property and safety...valuable mail can easily be stolen out of the shared package room and there’s nothing you can do about it even with evidence.

I wish I was not staying here. The heat and hot water services are genuinely questionable. I had called several times, but they do not have any idea when the issue will be resolved. In my one months stay, the heat had been shut off 4-5 times. They do not fix the heat in one day, last time it took 3 days. This time it had been two days. Its freezing cold inside. The hot water is so inconsistent that I make sure its still running everytime before using it. Right now they have turned off hot water entirely. The management is of no help. Heat and hot water are basic necessities and Cityview has absolutely failed to provide this. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Here I have attached a picture where the taps hot water flow has been turned off.

EXTREMELY over priced. Signed a lease when it was under old management and sold a bill of goods. Only resigned due to COVID and not wanting to move during a global pandemic. Front desk employees all have different training and opinions on protocol. Will charge you for anything and everything. Empty parking lot but if you have a visitor for even ONE HOUR they make them pay $25 despite paying an arm and a leg in rent. AC constantly broken, the main phone number on website, business cards etc. often routed to a call center so you cant even get someone who is actually working at/in the building. 3 stars because the location is good, rooms are spacious and service requests are completed quickly. However, this management company is ridiculously awful. You have to blame those at the top who probably have no idea what is going on in any of their many properties.

Worst management ever! Too expensive. Rats and insects issue. They don’t deliver the service they promise !! AC is hardly active for 2 months . Lifts are not working most of the time . Gym is unhygienic!! Go for it if you want to experience worst service !Recently our friends were trying to move in. This building with so many apartments has only 3 lifts and no service lifts . During the move in move out period they use one of them as service lift .. there is always huge queue and they have one bellman cart for the whole building .. the new receptionist also misbehaves with you !!

I have been living at CityView Longwood for two months and I like it very much. I am new in Boston (moved here from Sweden few months ago). After arrival, I searched for a rental apartment in different neighbourhoods and buildings. I can say, CityView Longwood was one of the best apartments among those I visited. The price is reasonable, the location of the building is the best; a safe neighbourhood, proximity to everything, a short walk to my school, T, and grocery store. The apartments are kept very clean and the maintenance service is the best. Olivia, one of the apartment specialists is very kind, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. She is always available to answer my questions on a timely basis. All other staff are also very helpful and quick fix of any issues I’ve reported. Its not a super quiet place to live, but we have to accept that noise is unavoidable in cities. The heating and conditioning (cool/heat) work properly, and the elevators and hallways are clean. Overall, CityView Longwood is a great place to live.

The staff at City View at Longwood have been wonderful. They are very attentive to your needs, respond promptly, keep you informed about any changes, and have your best interest in mind when renting an apartment. I rented my apartment without seeing it as I was moving from another country to Boston, but Lisa and Michael were great- they sent me interactive tours, videos of the apartments and photos to help in the decision making process. Lisa has been a pleasure to work with, she has made this experience easy!! I am looking forward to moving in soon (so cant comment on the building itself!) . I would recommend this place to anyone (based on my interactions with the management staff thus far).

This was one of the worst places to live. Bed bugs, mice, elevator broken down and down for renovations, laundromat ruining my clothing or overflowing, and me having to keep convincing management that they have a bed bug problem and a mouse problem. Whatever they did, didn’t work on the mouse and the bed bugs remained until the day I moved out. It was not even on anything we had, it was part of the building. We also have young children. The review was based on what i saw and staying there for a bit.We moved in August and where out by September.Beware and i must write another review after the experience i had there so people can make informed decisions by themselves. The truth must always be told.Read the lease agreement properly and check reviews on other review sites by other people. This is a learning point for me .Yelp ,Google etc.

I want to share my experience to public.1. I renewed my lease and got a price 350$ higher than the same kind of apartment in the same floor for a 1b1b room. I argued and they said I have already signed the lease. Do not you think this is no sense!2. I am going to move out and go back my home country, when I tell the office that I want to remove my name from the lease, they told me I need to pay 200$ for this and this is a courtesy. I told the manager that in my lease there is no this statement. Then she said that even before this is not written in lease. What???? So I understand that they can add any rules and policies out of the lease. There are so many rooms over-occupied they do not focus.WARNING: DO NOT RENT THIS APARTMENT!!

Move-out last month. Here are some points:1. Service better than 1 year before, but no good enough;2. No every staff friendly to international student!3. Check the rent price in its website everyday. The sales system may adjust price everyday, so select the lowest one in a week.4. If you have some money in your balance last month, they may find reasons to use your balance&deposit and refund you as less as possible.5. If you want to renew, negotiate for the price and check the similar room online. The renew price may be higher than the price for the new tenant!!! Our new lease change was up 1.4%, and achieved renewal increases were up 4.7%. Quotes from the Q2 2018 Earnings Call of EQR. Read the sentence 3 times before you renew your lease.

I visited a friend there and I couldnt even bare the smell of the building. The elevators are from the 70s and make loud screeching noises as well as get stuck with residents in them. At the moment they only have two elevators for over 200 residents. The health codes are not up to par. The gym, lounge, and dumpsters are literally in inches of each other. It is so unsanitary. Disgusting literally disgusting. I live in a building thats from the 50s in the Fenway area and what an abhorration that this is less than a quarter mile away. Disgusting.

Pros: good location, close to work, groceries, many restaurants nearby, close to the T, overall atmosphere may suit college studentsCons:-One or more elevators are often down. Despite what some may say, this is not normal for a building of this age. It is not unusual to wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator during busy times on most days.-Trash chutes are down multiple times during the year. This is especially annoying during winter since you would have to go outside to the back of the building to throw out small bits of trash. From what I gathered, this has a lot to do with residents shoving extra large items and cardboard down the chute. No matter how many emails get sent by management, this seems to be an ongoing issue (i.e. years).-Office staff are mostly helpful, but may occasionally provide misleading information. For example during the recent move out, I received a number of charges, one of which I was told verbally by staff that I would not be charged for (i.e. $200 for 58-day instead of 60-day move out notice, since its close enough to 60 days). My recommendation would be to have written documentation of everything (which I did not have this case).-Concierge staff sometimes inattentive and occasionally unprofessional. They are often browsing the web (e.g. Facebook) while on service (which I can kind of understand). Its just that they also give me the impression that I am interrupting them when I ask for delivered packages. Some other issues, not sure if these are routine issues. 1) Once or twice, I have seen kids who do not live in the building playing in the hallways on different floors, creating quite a bit of noise. 2) While waiting for the elevators one day, I overheard a concierge staff and maintenance staff member making fun of someones parking while both were looking at the buildings security monitors. Not sure who this person is, but overall, I do get the sense over the years that building staff do not keep opinions about residents to themselves. I think this is unprofessional.-Residents smoking. This is annoying. Despite emails sent by the Office, there are still a lot of folks smoking on their balconeys. As a result, I tend to not leave windows or balconey doors open for very long.-Noise. More of an issue for the corner units (my understanding is that you will hear everything in the stairs from footsteps to people talking). I do occasionally hear loud music with a lot of bass past midnight on weekends. Occasionally interferes with sleep.-Bed bugs? There may be an ongoing bed bug infestation. Ive not had bed bugs in my apartment, but there are inspections several times a year (where you would have to move furniture and remove all bedsheets etc). I didnt do this during one of the inspections, and when I came back from work, my beddings and linens were torn. Its also disconcerting to have neighbors knock on your door during the weekend to ask if you also have bed bugs in yoru apartment.Overall: 1-2 stars. Arguably the worst rental experience Ive had (lived in condos and apartments most of my life). Has a bit of a college dorm feel. Many of the tenants are college-aged. Most of the problems I describe should not be routine for most apartments. Good location, but cant recommend based on anything else. For the rent charged, there may be better options in the area. Look around.

I hope you like hearing the phrase, Im sorry you feel that way. Theres really nothing we can do about that.I have lived here for 11 months now, and the entire time there has been ridiculous construction going on. Every few weeks Ill get an email letting me know that theyll becoming into my apartment, propping open my door all day (even though I have pets), and doing whatever it is they do. Several times I have come home to my door unlocked, and no note that construction workers have been in there. When I try to follow up I get, What would you like us to do about that now other than apologize?City View does not view the apartment as yours, its theirs, and you are paying a lot of money to hang out there.I can work from home once in awhile for my job, but for the past 11 months I have been unable to because the jack hammering and construction all day long is so loud I cant call in to conference calls (or watch TV or sleep). Moreover the dust from the construction makes it impossible to grow vegetables on your balcony (RIP tomatoes covered in some gray dust from CityView) or keep your windows open on nice days. They even told everyone they have take all furniture and possessions off the balconies for the construction. The doors to the building are propped wide open all day long and this place is in Roxbury Crossing. They frequently turn the water off during the day for the work they are doing.Good luck seeing the value of the amenities they advertise--it took 10 months for the gym to be available (and when it finally opened, it has 3 treadmills, and 3 ellipticals, and 1 pull up station--it doesnt even have any weights, let alone weight machines. The ellipticals are really weird, too--very small stride. Youd have complete privacy down there because almost no one used the gym because its not functional.)And this is just the construction. There are no dishwasher disposals, my oven was full of mice and poop and they asked if I was comfortable continuing to cook on it! (They replaced it quickly to their credit), the garbase disposals close after 3pm. Even without the construction, its just ok.The location is nice and the apartments are in general spacious, but this has been a bad living experience. I really enjoy peace, quiet, and privacy, and this is not a place you will experience those things.
