I pulled up thinking I could go inside and order but you can only order online. It did not take long and they smell and taste amazing! They almost didnt make it to their destination!

I ordered a dozen cookies online when I was in Boone recently and got 11 different flavors in a custom assortment. I dont even like cookies and these were amazing. Large, freshly made (still hot when we arrived for curbside pickup). Online ordering was streamlined and easy, as was the curbside pickup. We got there 10-15 minutes early, called to tell them we were there, and they brought them out before our pickup time. Every flavor was delicious.Though we live 2.5 hours away, I was so impressed I ordered 18 for a friend for her birthday 2 weeks later for delivery. They arrived in 2 days, individually wrapped. She said they were amazing as well. Not only that, but I received a personalized direct email from the owner to thank me for supporting a local business during covid-19, which was an incredible touch. I will never go to Boone again without ordering from them.

My lady stumbled upon these online and they caught our eye. Im so glad we gave them a chance. These cookies made it all way to the Sunshine State in good condition. They definitely bring joy to my work breaks and snacks at home. They remind me of my Moms cookies! Highly recommend giving this cookie company a chance. You really can taste the care and effort in the cookies! Makes me wanna visit Boone and get em fresh!

I would not hesitate to buy anything from here. I ordered my wife cookies for valentines day and I truly believe they were some of the best cookies that I have ever had. I ordered my wife the bundle that included the Red Wine Dark Chocolate, Red Velvet and Pink Champagne cookies. The red velvet were her favorite and I really like the red wine dark chocolate. The freshness and taste of the cookies were just out of this world. Highly recommended.

Main issue after trying this place for the first time: the cookies were over-baked, causing them to be dry and and too crunchy around the edges. Also, they just werent that flavorful otherwise. As soon as they brought them out and I looked at them, I knew they had spent far too long in the oven. Second issue: they still arent allowing customers inside, which is ridiculous at this point. Not knowing this, I drove up to the store, only to see signs all over the place directing one to order the cookies online, which takes 20-30 minutes. Ill never get cookies from this place again--mainly for the fact that they are not good. Ive been going to Insomnia for years and have ALWAYS had excellent cookies there (not to mention you can walk into the store and get them immediately), therefore thats what Ill stick with.

Ordered the cookies for pickup at a later time. Cant get into the store. They were pretty good for cookies. Id say better than the Crumbl chain thats out there.

The cookies here are great.If you can get them.They are, as of June 19, still curbside and delivery only (for whatever reason). They have a handy QR code on the door to let you order online.I pulled up, scanned the code and— whoops! 30-35 mins for curbside, the site tells me.For cookies...?I took my $20 and went five minutes down the road to Insomnia Cookie and was in and out with delicious, fresh cookies in under five mins.COVID is no longer an excuse to make getting your product difficult. Until they get it figured out, I’d highly recommend the short trip to Insomnia for your cookie fix.

Omg, yum. These cookies are delicious. I am so happy that I looked over reviews of other cookies places in the area and chose this one.They have cookies on display for easy purchase, or you can wait about 20 minutes to have fresh ones made. Definitely call ahead and pick up if you can!They have some gluten free options too. Staff was friendly. No complaints at all.

Best cookies around town, would recommend to anyone

Flavor, texture, and overall consistency were very good. 6 cookies for $10. 3-4 inches in diameter 1/3 to 1/2 inch max height per cookie on avg. Warm and definitely made fresh at time of pickup. Cheesecake cookie tasted more like a sugar cookie to be honest though(maybe a mix up).

So I hate to ever give a bad review, but I sometimes think they are necessary to save others any headache. My husband and I used to LOVE Appalachia Cookie Company when they were on the outskirts of town. We are 2-3 times per year tourists and would make it a point to get hot, fresh cookies 2-3 times per trip and loved the concept. Service time REALLY slowed down when they moved to the current location. For awhile, it was worth the wait, but over the last few years we found ourselves going less frequently because the wait time was almost ALWAYS longer than we were originally quoted (like 15-30 minutes longer). What really turned us off was last year during the height of the pandemic we arrived, waited in the parking lot for our cookies to come out and people watched. Well, we watched one of the staff bring cookies out to the truck next to us. We watched the gentleman open the box, dig around, and then call back inside. They had inadvertently given our cookies to him. When they came to retrieve the cookies, they brought them straight to our car. We had to ask that we get fresh cookies since these had been touched by another customer. Kind of a gross concept at any point in time, but especially gross during a dag on pandemic. Well tonight was the last straw for us. We arrived, called to announce our arrival and were told the cookies would be right out. Fifteen minutes later we call again (yes I know we probably shouldnt have waited that long, but ya know trying to give some grace and have some patience). The girl offers NO APOLOGY, and brings out cold cookies. My husband knocks on the door, gives the cookies back and explains they are cold and wed like a refund. Again, no apology, but a I can reheat these Well these arent cheap cookies to be subpar after reheating. I dont like the thought of food waste, but either offer me an apology or perhaps rush me some fresh cookies. But instead when he once again asked for a refund, still no apology but rather Let me get my manager Manager is somewhat apologetic, but still seemed confused why we didnt want to let her reheat the cookies that we have already touched. Yall, I get these are still weird times. I try to have grace, tip well, and have as much patience as possible. But these small businesses need to train staff to give a darn. ACC, there is too much good food in Boone. Yall lost a customer today.

I ordered some gluten-free cookies for myself and some regular cookies for my kids. I was completely shocked when all the cookies were placed in the same box. When I called, the employee asked if I had requested a separate box. Apparently this is something you have to request, not standard procedure, which I think it should be. They did give me a refund as I was afraid to eat the cookies. I appreciate the quick refund but will not be buying here again. I am concerned that they do not have good policies to prevent cross contamination throughout the entire process. I know there are those who eat gluten free as a health choice but there are many of us with real allergies and even Celiac. It’s exciting to find good gluten free options, but dangerous if those options are not properly handled.

My son and I visited this bakery on a complete whim one Saturday night after deciding we wanted to indulge our sweet tooth a bit while on a mini vacation to the mountains. The staff was polite and the boxes on the walls that folks have decorated makes for a great way to spend your time if you order your cookies to be baked fresh (which we did). The cookies themselves sounded like theyd be incredibly indulgent and delicious based on their descriptions and the examples in the case. We ordered a half dozen as a result. The unfortunate reality is they were just ok. I ordered one particular cookie that I expected to be bursting with flavor (maple, bacon, bourbon) and it was really unimpressive. The bacon was chewy and all I could really taste was the bourbon. Thats just one example though. All 5 other cookies were similar in let down. They were, as I said, just ok. Now that being said, I was also under the impression that the cookies were specialty recipes that this bakery made and sold but, dont be fooled. When you place an order they grab big tubs of pre-bought dough and spoon them onto the baking sheets. Thats all. Overall it satisfied the sweet tooth but wasnt at all what I expected from the build up and other reviews.

Also the gluten free cookies are always made so much smaller than the regular ones despite the customer paying more. I have bought from App cookie co so many times because the cookies are delicious but I’m tired of getting tiny cookies. Also the online ordering doesn’t allow for coupon codes - never accepts them - and you can’t get the student discount. It’s just a big ol’ bummer

I placed an online order from out of state and I felt like they arrived in no time! The cookies are absolutely amazing. I purchased the Movie Night, Fruity Pebble Cheesecake, Cookies & Cream and Blueberry White Chocolate Oatmeal. I definitely will be ordering more in the future!!

I drove an hour and a half out of my way before heading back to Florida to check this place out. I seen a 6lb cookie eating challenge on YouTube and truly wanted to see what your place was all about. Went online too do an order and it said it would be an hour to put order together. My wife called too see if that truly was the case. Our cellphone dropped the call so my wife went up to the door with her mask on to ask a question and the two girls inside went and hid around the corner. Mind you we called from the car. We could see everything. I know this will be lost in the reviews as we dont expect anything but we just had to comment on our experience.

Ordered online for curbside pickup, went to the store to pick it up, call the store phone, no one answers, cant leave voicemail because inbox is full, store location is closed, knock on the windows and still get nothing, i call the charlotte location, phone is disconnected. why is online ordering open if the actual store is closed and now i have no cookies or refund.

I love app cookie co, they have consistently delivered a great product. However, when I went to pick up an order of cookies tonight, we waited for 30 minutes in the parking lot after the time they told us our order would be ready. Their phone was off the hook so we couldn’t let them know we were waiting, and the staff seemed very disgruntled when we asked if our order would be ready soon. The door was also locked so I’m not sure how they were supposed to know we were waiting for our order.

I ordered a dozen cookies online from Appalachia Cookies and couldnt be happier! The cookies are delicious and the company is sending an extra thank you email during COVID. While Im sure its just an extra automated email it is a nice personal touch during the pandemic. The people who run this company seem very thoughtful and make a darn good cookie.

I had ordered these online thinking they would still be somewhat soft and gooey, I was completely wrong. The cookies came on rock hard, lesson learned. Never ordering food from online that’s meant to be eaten fresh.

I ordered a bunch of cookies online to be shipped to me. They arrived within the estimated shipping time. I got the movie night cookies and a dozen assorted cookies. I cant rave enough about how delicious they were! My only complaint was that the cheesecake cookies didnt have a strong cheesecake flavor - they tasted like really good sugar cookies. Otherwise, they were awesome. Next time I need to order cookies for any reason, I will be ordering from them again.

1st time trying the place and not sure if they give you samples to try or not they didnt offer even after I said it was my 1st time there and Im not sure what I want. They had plenty of flavors to choose from and the price is affordable. No restrooms or handicap accessible parking. Small parking lot. Love the artwork on the wall. Dont care for the employees but would come back for the delicious cookies. Would recommend for people to try if cookies were their thing.

Appalachia Cookie Company is a great stop for good cookies. I have never had a bad experience with the staff there and they have all been friendly. You can get cookies out of the case or ask for the freshly baked. If you get them freshly baked you can just sit in the store for a bit until they are done. They also have great seasonal cookies. They do many events around campus where you can get free cookies as well.

Oh how Ive missed Appalachia Cookie Co.!! My favorite cookie place and Ive been missing it for over 5 years. So, glad I grabbed a dozen but man I wish I grabbed more!

I placed my order at 2:15 for cookies they told me they would be ready around 315. 4 o’clock came by after three phone calls and checking in on them and getting the same answer of 10 minutes to go I canceled my order. Great product bad service.

I was told these cookies were the best. Never got to try them. We went in and placed our order and were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. The shop slowly cleared out and customers that ordered after us received their orders with no issue. After 45 minutes of waiting, making eye contact with multiple staff members, we were informed our order had been forgotten. Another 5 minutes goes by before we are informed that the cookies we ordered were out. The girl couldnt even make eye contact as she made her excuses. When asked if we would prefer a voucher or refund, my brother(who paid), said he would like both. Another 10 minute goes by before she comes back to say their policy says they can only offer one or the other. Needless to say we took the refund and after a total of an hour spent there, we left, empty handed and frustrated. I will not be going back after such bad customer service.

Really love the cookies! They are wonderful. But the last time I visited I asked for a large coffee and they only had small cups... and it was several dollars for only 6-8 oz of plain coffee with milk... that just seemed like too much to me and I had to wait for it to be made.

I cant believe I am actually writing a negative review for this place because they do have the best cookies. I ordered cookies at 8:30 pm, online said delivery will be 9:30 pm. Someone calls me at 9:30 to tell me my card was declined. She redid my card and it worked. She said it was a computer error, and she said my cookies will be out to me shortly. 10:20 pm rolls around and still nothing. I call back and ask where is my order and they tell me the delivery person is on their way. Someone then calls me again and tells me my card was declined. My card is good, I used it to see and guess what, it worked. I dont understand why they didnt call me between 9:30 pm and 10:20 pm to let me know it was declined again. I have ordered here a lot, and although delivery does take a bit, it is well worth it. I apologize for being rude to the employee on the phone who called me back the last time, but she wasnt exactly the friendliest person either.

This is a very unique and special store. There are many unique flavors and combinations. There are pre-made cookies in a display case. You can request fresh cookies, and only have to wait for a short period of time. The staff was professional and courteous. The cookies were absolutely amazing, and this is one of my new favorite places.

My daughter was told tonight that because she showed up 5 minutes before closing that they had already put up the cookie dough and had to choose from the cookies left over. Which were mostly vegan. Which suck I might add. If you can’t serve customers up to closing time then change your closing time to 5 minutes till.

I am a daycare teacher and during teacher appreciation week, one of the treats we received from the daycare owner was cookies from this cookie company. I ordered the brownie chocolate chip cookie. When I received my cookie at work it was warm and so delicious! Probably the best cookie I have ever had. Heavenly!

Heard great things about the cookies here, unfortunately didnt get the opportunity to try any. Placed an ASAP online order last night at 10:33pm and was told the cookies would be ready at around 11:03pm. I was also given the option of picking up my cookies at 11:15pm and 11:30pm. When I arrived at just after 11:05pm, the place was completely empty. Apparently it closes at 11:00pm and it honestly looked like they mightve called it a night earlier than that given that the place was deserted. This really wouldve been great to know when ordering online since I drove out of my way to come here. Adding to the frustration, the charge for the cookies (that I never received) still went through on my credit card and I now have to deal with getting that removed. Please fix your online ordering so that its not an option to pick up cookies after the store is closed...

Good number of selections for cookies, and very nice to have the option to have your cookies made fresh, instead of just from display. Prices are well set for their product and offer other foods and drinks to pair with their cookies. Overall a well-run small business.

Great unique cookies with delivery options. Their new location is leaps and bounds more convenient than the first and the staff is friendly. The building interior itself could use some sprucing up to make the wait for fresh cookies more enjoyable, but thats a minor complaint. A must whenever you visit Boone!

I’ve always ordered cookies from here as they have always been great to order from. However, my recent order is a different story. I placed an order for a dozen cookies I was bringing to friends who were from out of town and across the US. Super excited to show off a great place, I had them each pick out a cookie from the menu they wanted. I placed the order on a Monday afternoon to pick up tonight, a Thursday. All dough for the cookies I ordered were available. 20 minutes before I was to pick up the cookies, I get a call saying one of the doughs was unavailable for the three Ron Swanson cookies I ordered. I’m a bit peeved that they were out right before I was to pick them up. I asked why there wasn’t dough for a cookie order I placed in advance and if I should have placed it sooner. The worker said he didn’t know why they didn’t take into account my order and just said there were many cookie order for 100+ that week. He offered me one free cookie which I wasn’t interested in as the ones I ordered were for 12 individual people and they were ere excited to try a cookie they had never heard of or tried. I’m very annoyed my order could not be fulfilled when an order was placed well in advance. I’m not sure if I’ll do any more ordering (and I do quote a few for my school and sorority events) as I’m no longer sure my order will be able to be fulfilled, no matter how far in advance I place it. I was really let down and left frustrated when I picked up my order which is not originally what I had ordered.

Honestly just done giving chances to the same company. Three times in a row Ive had to call and remind them that I placed an order with them. This time when I called they said it hadnt been labeled as delivery or pickup, while the receipt very clearly had a delivery fee on it. The cookies are decent if you can manage to get them warm but Im done with the frustration of waiting 3 hours for cookies.

LOVE these cookies! I ate them all the time when I was a student at Appalchian and now Im so excited theyre in Charlotte! While the wait time can be a little long they make the cookies fresh when you order so to me it was worth it! Keep up the good work guys!

Fresh-baked cookies made when you order. The Ron Swanson is a must try, along with the blueberry white chocolate chip. We also enjoyed the Mexican hot chocolate cookie and the lemon lavender, for the more adventurous. Ice cream and milk are available for sale. Highly recommended!

8 months ago I had given them 5 stars. I have gone in pretty frequently, but due to work I havent had the chance to come in a month or so. I went today and the prices have increased with the size of the cookies having dramatically decreased. Not too thrilled about that. Left without making a purchase.

Placed $50 order to be delivered on Valentines Day and the order was never delivered. No call, no email No Nothing to alert me that my order would never arrive. When I walked into the store to pick up my own order a day late the excuse was man we had like 200 orders yesterday. Why would the company take anymore orders if they cant keep up with the demand for delivery. I would have much rather been told at the time of placing my order Just to let you know, we are very behind and there is no guarantee that your order will be delivered on time or even on the day requestedThe cookies taste great but dont waste your time or money trying to surprise someone with a delivery on a holiday or any other day for that matter. Just arrange to pick up your own order and hand deliver it to the person you plan on surprising yourself, that way they may actually get it the same day.

I have to say this is the best cookie place in the USA! If they dont have your cookies they can make them in 15-20 minutes! I had the cinnamon raisin cookie and it was the best! We also had the Brownie with the cookie on top it was the best! We definitely will be comeing back the next time we are in Boone!

A great local company to deal with. The service is not the fastest, but the cookies are usually worth the wait. However, the quality has gone downhill since they first opened. On at least 5 occasions, the cookies Ive received have been underbaked.

I have never had a bad cookie from App Cookie Co. There are so many delicious options, from the classics to flavor experiments and each and every one is just fabulous.

The first time I got a delivery order I had to pick it up because it was taking 2 hours I told myself I wouldn’t go back so tonight i tried again and the same thing another excuse for being late told me 30-40 the first time tonight when I placed the order now after I called they said another 30-40 wait. Is there a good time to come to y’all? I don’t think the cookies are worth this much they will be cold and unsatisfying by the time they get here.

Terrible service! Cookies are great but ordering online won’t support Apple products, must use Chrome or Firefox 🙄. Charlotte NC office will not deliver within 5 miles of their office 😂. Tried to call in a large order for shipping, Boone office, and was rudely advised they could not accept phone orders for shipping. Poor owners need to up their game and train young lady that answers the phone how to properly handle customer objections without taking it personally and advising customer ITS NOT MY FAULT!

The website didnt accept the gift card we had, so we called and they said we could use it in store. Not even fifteen minutes later, we drove all the way there just for them to tell us it wouldnt work in store either. They did absolutely nothing to help and it wasnt our fault that their systems were faulty. I honestly wished they had told us over the phone before we wasted our gas and our time. They made it seem like it happens a lot (this is usually where the light bulb turns on and you start looking into upgrading or at least fixing the equipment). As for the cookies - they are not worth the price. We were so dumbfounded with the way they handled us and their gift card error, that after we took a bite or two of the dozen we bought, and they werent amazing we trashed the rest. Yes, their selection is fairly nice but as for taste, they taste almost like those free sugar cookies from Harris Teeter, only bigger and pricier. Insomnia beats the quality, customer service, in my opinion and Walmarts freshly baked beats their chocolate chip hands down. The customer service just absolutely ruined our experience - we could have probably loved, or at least liked, the place...but customer service (or a lack thereof) honestly makes the biggest difference. ):

The cookies were delicious, and the customer service was impeccable. There was a very slight mix-up with our order, and they gave us two containers of milk for free to make up for it. Very impressed.
