Towed my daughters vehicle from a very poorly marked private lot. When she realized her error and tried to get her vehicle back, she was told she had to wait until 8am the following business day! If you can tow a car after hours why cant you release a car after hours?! So, the next day arrives, she attempts to get her car again and is told she cannot since she didnt have cash ($250+) or a debit card and they refused to accept her credit card as payment. This seems really unreasonable and odd for a repair/tow company in 2020. To top it off, the staff was rude. If you have towing needs, I strongly recommend you use almost anyone but BUTCHS. And if they snatch your car from a private lot while youre visiting family or friends... good luck to you.

They seem to care for people, wash cars and are nice. If I had a car, I would go there as its more personal than other formal places like Kum and go

John was the tow truck driver assigned to help me. He was great. So friendly, helpful and personable. In a difficult situation that your car needs to be towed, he made my day!!! Said it was a pleasure to tow my 94 mustang! How special was that!!! He said he was glad he got the call. An unpleasant situation made me smile because of him!!I told AAA about him as well, Thank you!

$280 to pick up my car is absolutely way too much. This is a college town. Most of the people here are in a deep hole of debt. Its cheaper to pick up my car in Des Moines. Need to reevaluate pricing and ethics.

We had some snowy weather and my car went in the ditch. Next morning called Butchs they said theyd tow my vehicle by a certain time, they never did tow my vehicle. I called them several times throughout the day and night. I am a college student and I have to use my vehicle to get around on campus, especially since I live off campus. I called Daves and they towed my car right away, they were easy to deal with and moderately priced. For anyone who reads this, CALL DAVES.

The gentleman that came out to help me with my tire situation was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I would definitely recommend them.

Consumers be aware!!!! This place of business DOES NOT stand behind there work!! And if your university student is down there for school dont expect them to NOT take advantage of your.kid. they towed and fixed a flat tire by placing a whole new tire on.. the brand new tire blew out on the inside. They gave my kid the run around and then I called they try and take advantage of these kids.. beware!!!

Can I give negative stars? These are the type of folks that give towing companies a bad name. Bottom feeders of the worst order. $250 to get my car back after getting towed from a vacant lot. Took a few minutes to find signs to know what happened to the car. They are running a racket preying on unsuspecting folks that are visiting the area to do business in Ames. Hope Ames is happy with this type of ambassadors for their community. My visits will be limited in the future.

Locked my keys in the car, no locksmiths open this late. The guys came and popped it open for me no problem. Appreciate it, will recommend!

Employees absolutely had no clue of whats going on until the boss was there. They gave no indication of when I was actually towed. They profit by deceiving people until the 20 days are up, resulting in a letter in the mail, which was basically too late because the bill had gone up 3x the actual cost. Good on them, what a scum business!

Terrible customer service, attendants were rude and hung up on me twice when I called to ask some questions. Overheard the owner making fun of all the people he towed over the weekend. Each employee told me different prices and no one was on the same page. VERY unorganized business.

I have always had great experience whenever I have car troubles, fastest towing company whenever your stuck on the side of the road and the best and very nice guys to work with! Strongly recommend Butchs to all!

Butches (as said on the sign at the lot but really not the towing company name) sold $20 dollar parking for the isu/iowa game... Then they towed our vehicle (plus 10-20 other vehicles) to make an extra profit. Not the best towing either due to the scratches on the back end of my vehicle... Even was told the shop closed at 10PM but when we got there, they told people on the phone they would stay open past midnight due to everyone they towed out of their lot!!!!

The roads and weather where very bad. Our Jeep overheated on I-35. We called AAA and they said someone would be there in 30 minutes. An hour and a half later we where still on the side of the road freezing because our jeep would not start. My wife started calling tow companies and one of them was Butchs. They showed up less than 10 minutes later and towed us to town. Then they gave us and our luggage a ride to a near by hotel as we where stranded. Bryce and Devin where very professional and sympathetic to our situation. I dont live in Ames IA, but if I did, I would use butchs for all of my auto needs. It is very rare to find people that care and dont take advantage of you when the chips are down. THANK YOU to everyone at ButchsSincerely Bob and Robyn

I got a flat tire between South Dakota Ave and University Blvd this morning. Butchs had me towed, a new tire installed and back on the road within an hour. I appreciated that very much, thanks Bryce!

I called them at 6:21 a.m. to have a car removed from my reserved parking space at my apartment. The guy told me it would take 35-45 minutes to get here. At 7:32 a.m. I called them and asked where the truck was. The same guy told me the truck would be there in a few minutes. At 8:18 a.m. the person parked in my spot left, when I called to cancel the tow truck the guy told me that his driver showed up and talked to me and I didnt need a tow anymore. Garbage service and I wont be using them in the future.

Showed up on time even after I told them wrong road. Worked fast to get car pulled out. Was on my way in less than 30 minutes.

Parked in an apartment building for two hours with no sign in apparent view and the tow truck takes me and the boys car away. Very unepic.

These guys charged me 30 dollars for a ziptie, even after i told them not to fix it. scam artists.

I went to the burch, decided the service is good, the technique is very good, will soon be repaired

They broke my turn signal lights. Werent very courteous and more or less just wanted me to hurry up and get out of there

They did the work they said they would, however they charged me 3x more than I should have paid! I called around and the most expensive alternator s6 the parts store wad still 80$ cheaper than they charged me!

Employees were jerks. Couldnt get vehicle on Sunday afternoon. Offered to take a cash price to leave my vehicle when I saw I was being towed.

If I could give this a 0 I would. Not only did they not show up for a tow that I called for and waited 1.5 hours for, they told me they dont tow in the parking lot I was in after I had to call them again. Avoid this company like the plague.

Called in to get a car towed in my parking spot at 10:15, it is now midnight and nobody showed. When I called to see where they were an hour after the original call, it went straight to voicemail. Still haven’t heard from them. Ridiculous.

180$ for towing. This is extortion.
