The people at Animal Wellness Center of Bonita are the best. Our dog Ollie is extremely anxious, and the techs and vet were so kind, patient and great with our dog. They even called and emailed to follow up and see how he was after the visit! We are so impressed and feel so fortunate to have found such a great place! We highly recommend them to others!!!

My experience was great! Everyone was professional and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they were all so great with my puppy, Dexter. Due to the attitude of the staff and Vet, he didn’t seem nervous at all and left in a good mood. I don’t feel like he was scared/nervous or will be scared/nervous in the future of going to the vet like most dogs are. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my visit.

We are new to the area from Atlanta, GA, where we loved our vet, so we were in the market for a vet here. All of the staff were amazingly friendly, thoughtful, and informative with me and my baby, Molly (Golden Retriever). We definitely found our new vet in Bonita Springs! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My shih tzu mix Beau has been a regular visitor to Animal Wellness Center of Bonita because of allergies. He is dog-aggressive, so they have to take extra precautions. Then he dislocated his hip on a holiday weekend. Dr. Covino saw him right away, set up emergency surgery at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Fort Myers and followed through to make sure Beau was OK. Dr. Covino, Beverly at the front desk and the staff couldnt be more caring or competent. When Beau shows up at their door, they greet him by name and with smiles, even if he does snarl at their other patients!

Had my first visit and the staff were very caring about my concerns about keeping the stress level down for my cat who is +FLV. My cat is psychologically better when he can see me. They took him out shortly for a weigh and temp check. They jumped when I voiced my concern that he was out of my sight too long...so I knew they understood. I have worked so hard to keep my cat stress free because of his condition...and have spent many months working with him and teaching him communication and social skills..so Im trying to keep his negative experiences very low. I also got a great theory from Dr. Joe Covino on his eye issue..and it was explained very well.

What a breath of fresh air! Being new to the area, one of my biggest apprehensions with the move was leaving our vet, whom we have used for years and years. Being over 1000 miles away, I had no idea of any vets in this area. The people I have met along with all forums I looked in to recommended Animal Wellness of Bonita. My dog ended up needed to go to the hospital as we had an emergency after hours before being able to get established with Animal Wellness. I continued seeing this hospital for weeks with an uneasy feeling about them as we made over 5 trips with nothing feeling resolved. I finally said enough is enough and made an appointment to establish my dog Jake as a patient with Dr. Brough, the associate of Dr. Covino. I was more than impressed. She took my concerns seriously and put an end to the worrying of Jake’s condition. I wish there was an option to rate this animal clinic more than 5 stars. I am feeling very thankful I have found this place!

Animal Wellness Center of Bonita Springs has been very thorough in their diagnosis and care of our cats diabetes. Dr Covino and his Staff have been most helpful in advising us on how to give our cat daily insulin injections and how to control his blood count. I highly recommend this professional veterinary team.

Everyone at AWCOB is very friendly and helpful. They got my dog in last minute for an emergency, and we werent even patients there yet! Needless to say we are now full time patients of doctor Covino. Plus they are able to cut my dogs nails which no other vet wanted to do without anesthesia!

I took my 7 month 4lb puppy for a recheck for tooth issues.. I told the Vet emphatically that I had not made any decision to put my puppy under a 45 minute surgery.. they took my puppy to the back room for what I thought was a weight check and I later find out they drew blood from him for pre op for a surgery I NEVER agreed to and the tech comes back in the room with my puppy and says that you only have a week to make the decision for the surgery because Otherwise we will have to draw the blood again.. I returned home and my puppy in day two is still listless no appetite and extremely traumatized from what they did to him in that back room this is nothing short of unethical! I probably would never have written this but the email I received from the senior vet at that clinic defending his vet and tech for what they did without my approval and making me out to be a hysterical client..I have raised horses and dogs all my life and have had many vets come and go in my life and I have NEVER had a vet do what they did without discussing what they were going to do first.. I had a happy energetic healthy puppy walking into that clinic and now I’m left with a traumatized puppy who I’m praying will recover! And to make matters worse I spoke to the Vet who did this and there was NO APOLOGY her response to me... well does that mean you don’t want us to submit the blood work to the Lab.. outrageous!!!

We had a medical emergency and Dr. Covino and his staff did not hesitate to say come in asap. Molly is my only baby and I stopped listening after the first few sentences of the diagnosis. Dr Covino took the time to go over all the issues and followed up with all the test results, diagnosis and recommendations in an email. This enabled us to calmly understand what we were dealing with. Dr. Covino called the next day and gave us updates and a course of treatment that was logical and affordable.Today we were greeted by our Molly playing in our living room ( making a big mess :).Dr. Covino and staff saved her! I brought my 11year old Yorkshire terrier in for a complete physical, the staff, and veterinarian were very professional, and courteous. Dr. Brough spent time explaining the results of hear exam, and follow up care. I first went to AWC with a reference from a friend and previous client when my dog needed major dental work at age 10. Dr. Covino was great and reassured me that she would be a much happier dog after. He was correct she was acting almost like a puppy again. She is now 11 1/2 and going strong. The staff has always been kind considerate and accommodating to our needs. I have since brought my other 2 dogs in for complete vetting and enjoy this facility.

It is difficult for me to review this office. The doctors and the staff are very professional and courteous. However, in my opinion there is a tendency to overtest, driving the cost of the visits extremely high. I am not a vet but I am a health care provider (RN, DC, and Acupuncturist) and I understand the need for objective clinical testing but it should be within the parameters of clinical assessment.

Took my 2 kittens to this Dr. charged me 729.00 dollars for their visit!!! I only wanted rabies vaccines and he said they needed all. They are indoor cats, I told him, he did it anyway. He’s all about maximizing your bill. He gave me way too much medicine for their ears, charged me for extra medicine which was not needed. They only needed one tube he gave me 2.This Dr. is ridiculously over priced and in all the years I’ve had animals I’ve never been charged what he charges. Big ripoff.

Amazing team, so friendly and professional. My baby actually had fun at the vet and visiting with the techs and Dr. C. I greatly appreciate the individualized care they provide, making the appointments low stress for both of us. Rates are reasonable and well worth the visit. And lastly, they are the cleanest vets office I have ever seen. Excellent in all categories!

There’s not a better group for pet care out there.Joe leads his associates; tutors them too. From Techs to his partners.You can feel and see this with every visit. He’s the only vet I’ve seen cuddle and kiss my dogs. He goes out of his way to discuss every issue. He educates his pet owners as well. I looked a LONG time for a vet I can trust and about 8-10 years ago I found Dr. Joe Covino. He is not only a great vet but is very patient with me and my dog. I truly trust him with my little dog who is the most precious thing in my life.

I absolutely love this place! At first upon entering the reception area is immaculate and the girl at the front desk is an absolute doll. The doctor himself got down on the floor to take care of my dog and look at my dog. Literally was like rolling around on the floor Ive never seen a vet do that in my life. My dog was very afraid and the doctor knew that so he didnt try to pick them up and put him on the metal table. He was so kind and gentle with my dog and he was so informative and took his time explaining everything to us and giving us many options to choose from. He absolutely was not rushed and he was so personable it was an absolute pleasure. The the veterinarian assistants were just sweethearts. This is just a wonderful experience and Im so glad I took a chance and chose them. I didnt think I would find anyone as much as I loved my vet in New York but I definitely have and Im so happy and grateful. I would tell everybody and anybody if they have pets they love and want the best care for them, I would definitely suggest coming to this office. Plus the prices were really reasonable and I was very happy with that too!

We drive all the way from North Naples to take our lab mix here. This is the best vet Ive found between Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. They actually CARE about you and your pet. The expertise and compassion brought us here and we will continue to use this vet from now on.

This was my first visit to Animal Wellness Center of Bonita Springs after relocating to the Naples area. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Dr. Covina was amazing, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and very responsive to the needs to my dogs. I have found a place that will take good care of my dogs!

We’ve just been to our first visit with Dr. Covino and we are very pleased with the visit. Very professional, well coordinated and my little boy Buddy, wasn’t as upset as he has been in times past with other vet visits. We didn’t get to actually meet Dr. Covino due to Covid-19 restrictions but we can tell when our son likes where he is. We’ve found a gem and will return in six months!

Called and attempted to get an estimate for a service and was told I had to come in for a 64$ office visit for the estimate....In response to the owner. An estimate was requested not a detailed examination. Definition of estimate.“ an approximate calculation or judgment of the value, number, quantity, or extent of something”

This vet just wants to make money. They just want to do studies on my dog and they didn’t even know what he has. If they need studies then it should be free.

I had to take my dog here and they were going to close in 10 minutes. I called and made a last minute appt. Of course there was an emergency fee, but the care and kindness of the staff had made me feel like a human being with a sick puppy, not a bother. I recommend anyone in the area to use this veterinarian. Always friendly, always smiling, you can tell that they love animals and want you to have your baby as healthy as can be.

Ive been taking my cats to the Animal Wellness Center for many years now and cant praise Dr. Covino and his staff enough. From annual check-ups and vaccinations to oral surgery and emergency calls, Ive never had anything but top notch service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Great, caring veterinary practice! Dr. Covino was very thorough in the exam of our sick dog and also reviewed his treatments at previous vets. He and the practice have proactively communicated with us to ensure that we understand the treatments and also checked up on our dog’s progress.

The service is great but the price is way too hi for me.In Connecticut the visit was $65.00 with shots and medicine it was $150.00.It was a shock to me that the First visit was $358.00.

The Animal Wellness Center of Bonita is a very clean (as it should be) animal care clinic and the staff there is very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. There are also products available for purchase. It was a great 1st impression. The parking lot for the clinic is on the small side though.

Had an emergency with my cat, took him to AWC, staff was very helpful and compassionate. Dr G. was wonderful, very caring and thorough, I highly recommend them!

I was misled by this place and their veterinarians.I really am speechless on the events that took place because it was the worst experience I have ever encountered in my entire life, first my puppy needed to be seen for everything since she had some shots but after I purchased her would need more and because of “COVID” I was having the most difficult time finding a vet that would even see her because let’s face it everyone was scared of getting this sickness and the entire world was unsure of proper quarantine and still is. I found animal wellness my dog Barbara is a purbred weimeriner.she is the sweetest gift I could have ever received we took Barbara out of a very horrifying situation which I believe was a puppy mill and gave her love and a good home. Poor Barbara has never even seen the outside until she came home with us.i found out that my first visit with animal wellness was supposed to be free but I paid over 150 dollars the first time for flea and heart worm preventative and then the following month when I returned for the medication and follow up I only spoke to the secretary whom is all I have met since joining the vet the actual vet himself has never introduced himself to me ever. In fact Barbara was running outside and tripped over he leash she limped for as couple days and it appeared to be her hip and I was worried naturally however we both lost our jobs due to covid and informed the secretary at animal wellness I wanted to see if the vet could just look at her leg and see if it was anything serious because we were financially tapped. When I brought her in the secretary saw her limp too but the vet johnathon greenfield Called me and said he saw nothing I told him she was limping and even the secretary saw but he insisted I was wrong however he offered to take xrays and I said no I can’t afford that and he did end up giving her a pain medication which I greatly appreciated it but was confused because if he saw nothing why would he prescribe anything? Anyways I knew she was hurt so like I said I was greatful. Barbara has been very difficult for me to do her ears and her nails and I told the secretary that and asked if she knew of any groomers that were cheap. She told me they did grooming there and when I asked her what they charged she said they were reasonable nothing outrageous so I had Barbara scheduled for a bath her ears cleaned and her nails cut and the vet to look at the limp, when I picked up my dog I was given a bill for 300! 75 for just looking at her leg to tell me he saw nothing! They charged me over a hundred dollars to groom my dog whom literally has the thinnest coat she could walk ten feet and be dry. I was speechless we had to pay it because they did do a service but considering the fact that these are hard times and I specifically stated I lost my job how could they take advantage of me like that! Also when I got Home I listened to my messages and the dr. Greenfield had left a message where he thought he hung up but he didn’t and he is bashing me as a person calling me neurotic and pathetic and saying who names there dog Barbara and the secretary replies back saying yeah the name doesn’t fit her. Then he continues by saying I’m neurotic because I want her ears cleaned And nails done . First off I don’t appreciate anyone calling me names I have never even met this man who is a pathetic excuse of a doctor. I did however research him and found he is money hungry that he often over prices and under doctors his patients. That it isn’t on the bbb and should be but is listed on his prior practice in New York. My dog is sweet and loving and her name suits her I don’t appreciate anyone bullying me behind my back either it is so unethical and trashy. You have no class. I am hurt and disgusted and humiliated. I now have the task of finding another vet now that will treat me and my dog with respect and understanding exspecially during these hard times.

I just took my pup here for the first time after moving to the area. Their prices are very reasonable, the vet and staff are very pleasant, not rushed, and happy to answer any/all questions. Over the last 5 1/2 years I have used AWC as the vet for my mixed hound rescue dog. Like finding a pediatrician to offer the best care for your kids, I have the utmost trust and confidence in the staff at Animal Wellness Center. We have had a few challenges over the years but all were handled with care and compassion.

The doctor was nice but my parents were told that the visit and shots for the cat would be around $70. The doctor proceeded to to over $500 of work on the cat without informing them until after the tests and work was done. He did take $100 off but that is still wrong to do that to people.

The difference between a good vet and a great vet is the one that goes the extra mile.. And yesterday you went the extra mile to really understand what my dogs ingested. I was so appreciative. I am very very selective about my pets Doctors. Your care is 5 star..the best!!!Abbie B

We just moved to Bonita Springs and found Animal Wellness Center for our little Murphy! We are very impressed with Dr. Covino and the entire staff. They are very friendly, accommodating and knowledgable.

Dr. Covino is one of the most compassionate vets I know. My pets are my life!!! Joe is always my go to when I need a trusted vet for my many pets. But I also run a state wide rescue so he is also my go to for all the animals that desperately need quality TLC!

We have spent hundreds of dollars pursuing relief for our dogs skin allergies. With one visit our dog is no longer licking his paws, his ears are clear, and he is no longer pink/red all over. Cant wait for our follow up appointment to say thank you.

Our Tiffany has been cared for by Dr. Covino ever since she was a puppy, almost 9 years ago, and before the doctor had his own clinic. At one year old, Tiffany had become very ill after my husbands death and I thought she would not live. Dr. Covino researched intensely and came up with the right medication to solve her problem. I am convinced he saved her life. Tiffy always enjoys going to his office in spite of all the shots she has received. Dr. Covino is the best! He is thorough, knowledgeable, and very, very kind. I moved to the area recently, and my six year old cat had a few acute digestive problems while she was acclimating to her new home. We were able to see Dr. Cohen the same day we requested an appointment, and she was able to help remedy the problem within 24 hours. When I had to call back for a prescription for specialized food, the Center was quick to respond. Everyone from the receptionist to vet techs to the vets here is so friendly and welcoming, and my cat is now problem-free. I cannot thank Dr. Cohen enough!

We visited animal wellness center of bonita​ with our greyhound Aladdin after winning a Senior blood panel at the Bark in the Park. We were very impressed, we were treated with lots of kindness and understanding! Aladdin is always hesitant to go to the vets office and he was relaxed with the atmosphere and kind hearts that all the staff had! We will be returning with our Greyhounds to visit Dr. Covino. We met Dr. Joe Covino in 2004 with our first dog and have followed him since. We moved to Fort Myers and there are a lot of veterinarians between here and there but all of our pets, over the years, love going there, trust Dr. Joe and there is not a chance we will be taking them anywhere else. We have big dogs and cats and he is great with each one of them.

Great staff and Doctor. This facility was recommended to me by a specialty vet in Delaware. He did not disappoint. Takes lots of timeand really listens to your concerns. Wish people doctors were as attentive!

Dr. Covino and his staff are simply amazing! I would not take my dogs any where else. Dr. Covino talks you through everything he is doing and explains what and WHY. We found a mass between my Labs toes and he personally e-mailed me all of my options and all of the lab results as they came in with detailed explanation of the findings. Dr. Covino also personally called me often to check up on her after her procedures. When we found out she was fine Dr. Covino was just as happy as I was and hugged her as if she was his own dog. I cannot say enough great things about Animal Wellness Center of Bonita, Dr. Covino and the staff. I will tell everyone I know to take their furry companions to Dr. Covino! Also, they are open in the evenings one day a week which is nice for someone like me who works 8-5 M-F.

Dr. Covino is the best! We thought we were going to lose our little girl Keya last August when she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She is 15 years old and doing great! Every time we go to the office, he is very loving and caring to her. We drive a half an hour from our home just to see him. Thank you for Dr. Covino!

We have always had a great experience with Dr. Covino. Prompt appointments, same day appointments usually available when we have had an emergency, friendly staff. Dr. Covino always takes the time to explain everything and his reasoning for doing what he needs to do. Great place!!

This place is awesome. We are seasonal RVers wintering here in Bonita Springs with our German Shepherd. She has had several diarrhea attacks this winter and we had been to another vet here twice who were okay, but we wanted a 2nd opinion. These folks are GREAT from the receptionist to the technicians to the doctor. They are also thorough in examining and treating her and I love their personal online evaluation and treatment website of your pet. We plan to be back next winter ... and the Animal Wellness Center is our Shepherds vet center from now on. Thank you to all the staff there for your care of Greta!

Great Vet! We have gone in for both normal exams and emergencies for our little dog and they treat us and our dog like family. They also help with medications and have them on hand vs going through online sources.

Best vet service Ive ever had for my pets. Everyone is friendly and caring. Dr. Covino is great with my dog. He explains everything so that it is easy to understand and is a great listener. I highly recommend them.

I have 6 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and like all pet owners I care passionately about their health and well being. Animal Wellness Center of Bonita answers all those needs. Dr. Joe Covino is devoted to his practice and I especially favor my dogs are seen on a regular basis by ONE doctor only. When an issue presents itself were all on the same page. Every friend Ive referred to him feels the same way about his dedication to their pets health. He sees my daughters Yorkies as well and shes so comfortable with his kind and gentle approach she recently said *I wish he could take care of us.*

We love going to Animal Wellness Center for our labradoodle, Szabi. He is not nervous there and seems happy. He is well cared for!
