Whites OnlyMy son is mixed, half black and half white. Ive been to other lemon trees and salons and NEVER had an issue. I went to this one because I was running errands and it was the closest. I go in and ask for a haircut for my son. The hairdresser was a tall Caucasian man with short balding hair and black glasses. The guy looks at me quickly and says very dismissively we dont do ethnic hair and went back to working on his client. I was shocked. He didnt even look at the texture of my sons hair which is mostly wavy. He does have soft curls at the top but not its not coily like mine or general afro textured hair, as you can see from the attached picture.It would be different if I asked for a certain style and he wasnt able to do that but that wasnt the issue. He never even asked what I wanted done. Not even a haircut?! I asked. No, we DONT do ethnic hair he said without even looking up. I left and felt so hurt for my son that I cried. Im just grateful my son is too young to realize what had happened. At what point does curly hair become ethnic and why should that even matter, especially for a buzz cut? The website claims and I quote Our talented stylists are experienced with many hair types. Apparently curly hair doesnt count. I cant help but feel if a curly-haired white person came in hed have no problem with cutting it.As Ive said before, Ive been to other lemon trees, my husband even called another one to check if the would take my son. They responded Of course he can come in. That [[hair texture]] would never be a problem, everyone is welcome here. I found that quite telling.The one in Bohemia should be avoided, especially if you have ethnic skin. I mean hair...whatever that means.

Do not go here! I went here for a trim; I have long layers and an angle. I saw Dee and she was so nice. I went home and dried my hair and it was so uneven!! I made an appointment to see Dee again the next day to get it fixed. I was waiting a couple minutes past my appointment because she was busy dying a coworkers hair! The receptionist then said she would help me. She starts cutting my hair, and the woman getting her hair dyed comes over and starts yelling at her. No! You never cut hair like that. You need to cut on an angle. Never cut straight! She finishes and then I tell her no, you didnt fix it. So the coworker with the dye in her hair says come in my chair, Ill try to fix it. She tried but said there is nothing we can do. The receptionist chopped it and I cannot fix it. Dee was looking at it too and said shes right, its too bad and theres nothing we can do now... Now Im stuck wearing my hair up until I can find somewhere else to go. DO NOT GO HERE. AWFUL!

Dont go here. I booked an appointment for my niece to get her hair done in a side bun up do for a roaring 20s themed wedding. The girl on the phone said no problem we just did a roaring 20s event recently. My niece went the day of the wedding to have her hair done & the girl couldnt even put her hair up properly in a side pony tail. My niece had to do it. My niece showed her pictures & she said you need a professional to do that. She was supposed to be a professional. My niece left in tears without her hair being done. What was supposed to be a treat & good experience for my niece ended up a disaster. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Great place to have your haircut

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you care about how you look DONT GO HERE! I left in tears and have an an appt at another salon to fix my hair. The guy who cut my hair almost ripped out my hair while drying it. I know you get what you pay for but Ive been to other Lemon Trees in a pinch and was happy. I dont know how this place is still in business.

Walked in early on my birthday with terrible split ends desperate for a trim. Rae took me gave me a quick cut . It looks great; she saved the day!

OHMYGOD. I left this place sobbing. It’s been two days and I still stare at the mirror and just wanna shave it all off. I’m stuck wearing a hat or wearing my hair up until it either grows out or my monstrosity of a haircut can somehow be fixed. Just go somewhere else.

I always love coming to this place!!! Not only is staff especially Linda sweet and friendly but the other clients are too. On more than one ocasion i made new friends. It is a great atmosphere and the service is extremly satisfying.. you will definately be happy going here and i highly reccomend it you will be glad.. thank you..be back soon...
