Warning Realtors! - We scheduled a Level 2 chimney inspection during an inspection period pertaining to our clients purchase of the property. Gold Chimney Sweep (aka Chimney Sweep Minnesota) scheduled the inspection at the sellers property for Sunday. We learn from the sellers on Sunday that the inspector did not show up. After finally tracking him down back through customer service (I will get to them in a moment), said he either was informed the day before or that day (he wasnt sure) of the inspection he was assigned the project and he doesnt usually work on Sunday (so he simply didnt show up, didnt call anyone, nothing, nor were we contacted by the company that no one would be coming). He said he would be happy to come back anytime we want the next day (Monday). We rescheduled directly with him for Monday morning but then a different technician arrived at the sellers home and refused to start work without being paid by the seller. Note that earlier during the weekend the buyer had called in his contact information and tried to provide a credit card for the work to be performed but they said he didnt need to do that. Over much back and forth between the sellers, their agent, the original technician myself, the new technician and now the buyer, the new tech performed a Level 1 inspection and charged the buyer $99 but then never provided an inspection report to him (or left it onsite with the sellers). I called the Customer Service line and explained the craziness that we endured and he said he would look into it all of it from original scheduling to the technicians service and be sure we got a report by the end of day. Nothing. Called again later in the day and got another person who seemed to know the person from the morning and said she would contact him and I should hear back shortly. Nothing. It is now Thursday. Nothing. I decided to call the number listed for the aka Chimney Sweep Minnesota and a different person altogether found my file and said someone responsible would get back to me. I doubt it.As mentioned above, the Customer Service team seems to be operating for both company names ... it was curious that no matter whoever answers the phone never identifies or refers to their company name in the conversation. After further investigation, it looks as if this company operates under at least two names (as stated above). We had contracted service under Chimney Sweep Minnesota but couldnt find a place to leave a review on Google Business under that name, perhaps because there is not a Google Business truly set up for what could be a rebranded business? Curiously, both companies appear to have the same business address and the two separate telephone numbers for each of these businesses take a consumer to the same Customer (answering) Service where they answer service. When calling the other number the customer service person did not seem to have heard of Gold Chimney Sweep but confirmed the two different company numbers did indeed lead back to him.Long story short, there appears to be more than meets the eye here so strongly recommend to be cautious of both of these companies.

Called and was told chimney sweeping starts at $99. Could not get a more exact quote or even top end of range just for cleaning services. Was told the tech would call prior to appointment and we could get more details on pricing then based on home layout, etc. Lady scheduling was a little rude, but whatever.Made an appointment window from 2-4pm. This is crucial because I know I have to leave for work no later than 5.Got a call just before 3:30 that the guy wouldnt be able to make it for about another 45 minutes.I asked if we could discuss a closer ballpark for the quote to see if its even worth my time to hang around and was told that they dont do that over the phone.Ended up just canceling. It seems this company is either a bit overstretched at the moment or just not very organized.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the same experience as some of the positive reviews.Made an appointment for 1:00-3:00 and was told a cleaning would cost $99 for single story.Waited until 5:00 and then called. Someone showed up at 6:00.They wanted to inspect the chimney but I just bought the house and had it inspected. I told them the two problems (small crack in crown and a piece of flashing needed to be nailed down.$600 for a few spoons of quick cement in the crack and 30 minutes of „cleaning“. They were there for under one hour. I know they ripped me off because I just had an electrician here for 3 hours and paid $600.Unbelievable.

The glass front plate of our stove broke due to my own negligence in loading wood. A team came out, cleaned out the old glass, installed the new glass, and cleaned the stove for us. They did the job quickly and professionally and did a great job of cleaning up afterward. I would note that I contacted several chimney cleaners and retailers and this was the only company that took on the job. Im very glad to have my wood stove working again and looking good. Thank you!

Put in for a bid on their website then got phone calls for a week straight from sketchy people. Did not allow them to my house and told them to stop calling. Pretty sure this isn’t a real company.

I dont recommend this business and I have strong reason to believe this company (and these positive reviews) are illegitimate.Read through the reviews and you will find some odd patterns that point to automated/bot-generated reviews:-Many people with two first names (Tanya Tanya, Margie Margie, Amy Amy, Velma Velma...I could go on)-Reviews for businesses in California or for other Chimney Sweeps at the same time (how often do you need this service---Metro Chimney appears to follow similar patterns as Gold Chimney Sweep).-Length/timeline positive reviews all seem to come in at the same timeI booked an appointment with this business and two guys showed up with no credentials, no uniform, no tools, no business card etc. I asked them to leave because nothing was adding up. The whole situation just felt super sketchy and unprofessional. I would avoid this business.

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home and needed to get the chimney inspected. The inspector was there for a total of 10 minuets, looked up the chimney with a flashlight, told us everything was fine and left. The quoted me the wrong price when I scheduled the appointment and we ended up paying $200 for him to do nothing. I’m still waiting on the inspection report which he said we would have a in a few hours. I called to speak with the supervisor and took multiple calls to finally get ahold of her. She was not helpful at all and promised to send me documentation and the inspection report and we are still waiting. Do not use these people. Very unprofessional! Worst experience

I scheduled an appointment for a chimney inspection. I received a text with a confirmation. The morning of the inspection I received a reminder with the two-hour time window. That two hours came and went. No one showed up or let me know the tech would be late. 30 minutes after the window was over I responded to the text asking for clarification. No response. I called the number in the reminder text and it rang and rang and finally told me the inbox was full. Twenty minutes later I got a response to my text saying the tech was running late and that I would get a call shortly. Three more hours passed and no one came and no one reached out to tell me what was going. Terrible way to treat a customer. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

This start-up service is the subcontractor for a subcontractor for Rapid Services. Got no written quote.Work done was not what they said.And when I insisted on a receipt for my $1000 check, it took nearly 2 more hours with the guy in my kitchen. When I finally got it, it was from yet another company! 🥶

I setup a chimney inspection with this company. They told me on the phone they had a time available for 10:30 AM. I asked how long the inspection would take and they said they normal book it for 2 hours but it would most likely take 1. Come day of the inspection I get a text saying they will show up between 10:30 and 12:30. Not that they would be done by 12:30. They never mentioned this was a window of time, Im glad I even asked how long it would take or I may not have blocked off 2 hours. Turns out they never even showed up at all between that time and the dispatch person was unable to get in contact with the contractor at all during our 2 hour window. Very unprofessional.

Unprofessional, did not exactly seem to have the road right tools for cleaning. And headset blowing all through my living room. They didnt want to spend more than 10 to 15 minutes to get the job done. That was not my last experience from the past chimney cleaner.

Very responsive, timely, efficient, and expertly done. Worked hard and quietly the entire time they were on site. Finished ahead of schedule. Respectful and pleasant. If we have another chimney issue, these guys will be my only call.

Cant recommend Alex enough, he is great at his job, fantastic to have a chat and he explains what he is doing and why, if there is any wrong with the chimney hell let you know and if there is gonna be any extra cost for the service he lets you know, great service, if you need anything just contact him.
