I sent Randy a message through his website on a Friday afternoon, and the next morning he called me to set up a time to look at our bathroom. In a city where most contractors just ignore you, his response time already gave him a leg up on the competition.When he came over, my wife and I had a budget in mind and just a very vague idea of what we wanted: a tiled shower and bathroom floor. No solid design plans, we just wanted to get back to living normally after the house flooded.Randy gave us his opinions on tile sizes, layout, etc... and a couple of days later sent an itemized quote along with his suggestions as to where to look for tile in order to stay within our budget (he has his own preferred supplier, which we did use with along with a floor tile from Lowes)With any remodeling job, you need to be ready for surprises and this was no exception. We had plumbing problems, walls that were seemingly built by a blind person, and COVID-19 to deal with. Randy approached each situation methodically and came up with solutions that not only fixed the problems, but in the end were an improvement over what we had planned. He had concerns that the tile we picked out for the shower floor would be too slick, and took the time to do a test run with them wet and sure enough he was correct. Had he just done what we asked him to without making suggestions based on his experience, the shower floor would have been a nightmare. In the end, our shower absolutely exceeded our expectations.Every day he was here I asked a ton of questions, and he always explained everything he was doing in detail. If youre looking for someone to slap some tile on the wall and call it a day, then Randy is not your guy. He will take his time and ensure everything is done correctly, and has stayed in touch afterwards just to make sure we were still happy and there were no problems that surfaced as time went on. You will be very happy with the work that he does, and when the time comes we plan to have him back to do some work in another bathroom.
